Guys I have had my macbook air 2011 model stolen this afternoon. I have the serial number, the airport ID and the bluetooth ID. Is there anyway I can track my computer?

Basically is there anyway to find my computer using the interweb? I don;t think I have any expensive software installed.

I'm afraid that Kappy's answer is rather complete on the subject. The Mac's wouldn't need the functionality of "Find My Mac", if there were alternate means available without it. Yes, there are alternatives to "Find My Mac", but all them reguire the user to setup the software for the device's ability to be tracked.
If there were another way to track a Mac without owner/user interaction, then the means would be considered a security flaw.
Even Find My Mac is not without issue. The unit's location can only be determined if the thief/possessor connnects the unit to the internet. Therefore, in addtion to being dependent on prior user setup, the thief himself must participate in a specific manner.

What program, and did you buy the UPGRADE version, or the FULL version?
Your description indicates that you bought an upgrade version... which requires proof of a previous version to install
So, if you had A and you bought A+ you need to provide your A serial number during install so A+ knows you are legal

My iPad has been stolen. Someone broke into my house on Tuesday. I have already tried locking it through icloud. I have reported this to the authorities but they cannot do much unless I give them the serial number to the iPad. With the serial number they can put it into a database and send that inormation to pawn shops, so i the theie tries to pawn it, the pawn shop employeee can convscate the iPad and hand it over to the authorites. Go to the Apple website and your support profile. It should list that iMac and the serial number for it. You'll need your Apple ID and password for that Apple ID.

To switch, I am afraid you will have to reinstall using the other one.
But that should hardly be necessary.

Unfortunately no. Due to privacy issues Apple does not trace devices (if it could) based on serial numbers. That's why Apple provided the Find My iPhone service to help find lost devices. But in your case, a dead battery defeats the service. All you can do is contact your carrier to ask that it block your service and inform the police. Do you have insurance for the iPhone?
