Hacked imessage

Greetings!
A friend of mine sent me a message thru imessage and when I am about to reply on his message, i found out that someone else is using my account. I never used my account on another device and I don't have any idea on who might be the person behind this. I just wonder maybe there is a way i can deactivate that account in any other device other than my iphone6.
Thanks.

  • My imessages have been hacked and recovery email changed and I can't delete it! (with pic)

My iMessages have been hacked and the hacker entered his email as the recovery email with security questions I can't answer. I contacted Apple support and went through the 24 hour process of changing my info so that I could get into the account, but his email address is still the recovery address and it does not give me the option to delete it. I've added alternate emails that can be deleted, but it will not let me change or delete the recovery email. I can change phones and passwords a million times, but if he can just recover my password what am I supposed to do? I have turned iMessage off on my phone (as well as the gps) but I would really like help in deleting that recovery email if anyone has any bright ideas! The pic below shows the only place in all of the settings that his email address shows up anywhere! Any help is very very very appreciated.

    Hi,
I don't think that can be solved by any advice the regular posters could post here.
I would go back to Apple and explain the situation (again).
I would also consider closing the account (Apple rarely seem to do this as accounts are never deleted but just closed).
I understand this may cause issues for things purchased in iTunes and the App Store which my include Restoring the OS at some point.

  • I believe some how some way my iPhone or appleID has been hacked into.  My iPhone sent 3 iMessages out that I did not type or send - 2 while I was sleeping and one while I was in mid imessage conversation.  Please help if you know anything about this!

I believe that my iPhone or apple ID has been hacked into.  Three imessages were sent from my phone that I did not type or send - two while I was asleep at 1:15am and in the morning during an iMessage conversation.  These messages were to my boyfriend about my boss.  Apple and AT&T have been somewhat helpful but both are pointing fingers at the others saying they cannot track the message or see if my personal information has been compromised.  I feel extremely violated because this hacker knows who my boyfriend is and who my boss is and I just started this job two weeks ago!  I am about to go to the police because this person is trying to taint my good reputation and destroy my relationships at work and in my personal life.  Does anyone have any incite on how this could be done and is there any way to trace where those three iMessages were generated from??

No I have my own iPhone iPad and MacBook  so everything is set up on devices that are mine and as far as I know I never connected to anyone else's device and logged with my apple ID.  But are you saying it is possible for someone to have obtained my apple ID and send an iMessage from their device with my contact information so it looks like it came directly from me?  It's crazy I looked down at my iPhone and saw this message had just been sent that I did not type or send

  • Imessage hack?

I handed in my iphone 5 to a service company because the speaker wasn't working, they needed my passcode etc but I made sure to outlog myself from all apps and iMessage. However, when I got it back now, my apple laptop asks me if I want to add this number to my iMessage. What I get is an unknown phone number and the option to add it to imsg because it was used on apple id *enters my apple id* on *enters the name of my phone*. When I check my phone, this number is added under "send and receive". Does this mean someone hacked into my phone, someone who works in the service?
I deleted it and changed my password for appleID, does this mean I'm safe?
    Thanks for any advice!

You shouldn't need to change your gmail password unless you gave it to them. What I meant was change your Apple ID password. In general an Apple ID password should not be the same as the password for the email address that you used for your Apple ID. As far as bank passwords, if you use the iPhone's password vault and they had access to it you should change the bank passwords, but if you don't or it wasn't accessible you should be OK.
It would probably be a good idea to add 2 factor authentication to your Apple ID. Not because of this incident, but because it's generally a good thing to have. You should also add it to your gmail account if you don't have it there already.

  • Can Imessage be hacked?

So, this is going to sound strange, the fact that it even happend is even stranger! but okay, so I had been texting the same person all day, and I had recieved a text so as usual I open up imessage to read it, and I notice that there was an unknown number sitting in my inbox, which it was not there before, I know for a fact it was not there, cause like I said im in and out of Imessage all day long. So I open it to read what it contains, and it was saying that I sent this number a picture, and a text at 9:30 PM. I know for a fact no one else had my phone because I was texting someone at that time. But what Im getting at here is I dont even know that number, I don't even have the picture that was sent saved to my phone anywhere, and the text that was sent, I most certainly don't text like that. I wrote on FB explaining what happened, and a friend of mine told me that Iphones can be hacked and to reset my phone. So I did immeadeatly. Im just wondering, has this happened to anyone else?
    thanks.

Thanks for your response. My daughter was using the iPad which is linked in to my account, however she is 8 and doesn't know this type of language so she definitely didn't write it.  We thought maybe predictive text changed the words but they wouldn't suggest these types of words. Looking at search history she hasn't been on any pages where it might have been copied and pasted. It's very strange.
We have disabled iMessage on the iPad now.

  • Can Apple Employees hack my iCloud/iMessage/iTunes/Private Apps/Photo Sharing?

Can Apple Employees hack my iCloud/iMessage/iTunes/Private Apps/Photo Sharing? I was recently in the Apple Store and was asked for my Apple Id/password, and to enter it onto the stores iPad. Coincidently, my email associated with my Apple ID was hacked, and numerous times a day I will be asked for my Apple ID password for iMessage and iCloud. I finally changed my email and password for APPLE ID and now literally every 45 seconds a screen for iCloud pops up. What can be accessed using my iTunes account? I had personal and private data including bank accounts, photos, location enabled GPS for most apps. Is it possible that an Apple employee (with good reason) could get a hold of this information??

We have become familiar faces since I go into the Apple Store and we know some of the same people through mutual friends. Everything I know about her she has told me, and mostly just innocent conversation at the apple store. I'm not going to report someone is stalking me if I dont know for a FACT that she is stalking me. It didnt catch my attention until a few friends who don't know her, just the situation started noticing it. I changed my apple ID so hopefully it stops, but like I said - it came to the point of being too frequent to be a coincidence. I guess re-routing back to my original question ....... Can an Apple Employee hack into my account and download the apps under my Apple ID and use my iMessage, iCloud, ect.... I don't understand why it is such a secret! its either a yes or no question. I don't feel comfortable knowing that I have had devices (not my own) that have been granted permission for iMessage (I received the notification on my ipad that another ipad had turned on imessage under my apple ID), and at the time I was not aware that someone would desire the need to log into my account to read my imessages - or could actually do it? I'm very very secretive about passwords, and would not even write on the forum about this if I didn't think it were possible. I appreciate all of your responses, I truely do but this has been going on since before March when I first created the post so understandably its been on the back of my mind for quite some time!

  • IMessage has been hacked? My account used?

It appears my iMessage ID has been hacked or stolen, my best friend is on iMessage and receives messages from me, using my name, but not my Apple ID, but my name appears, and has a URL Link and that's it.
    Questions:
    How have they done this?
What can I or Apple do to prevent this (without adding the person to the contacts list and then blocking!)
If they have my name, how do I know they don't have other things like my password or account details, and therefore can use my account?
    Anyone else had this?

Hi - this happened to me last night.
A message on my phone showed that I had signed on to my iPad to use iMessage and I had assumed my niece was playing around with it so I hit OK. This morning a couple of messages were sent out to my family that were sent from my "iPad" well after I was asleep ... I have changed my password and disabled iMessage for now till I can look into it more.
Here is a screen show (not sure if it will help) of what was sent lol

  • My dad's imessage hacked by auction site

So this afternoon my dad sent me a weird text telling me about an auction site. So I'm guessing my dad's imessage was hacked by the auction site. Is there anyway to get rid of them? Btw, my dad, sister, and I have iphones. My dads is a iphone 4.
Also I would like to mention that my sister got a text from somebody else from an auction site. Heres a picture of the conversation.

I open a new GMail account, and to confirm the new account, GMail asked me for a phone number to confirm the new account, I provided my cell number and I received a code on my Messages from GMail, and I activated my new account.
After a minutes I received another message from a unknown number, in the text was showing a number from my contacts and a site for me to click and the password as my phone number.
No doubt some of my information was hacked.
How they did, I can't understand. Was from GMail? Was from my computer (Mac Book)? Was from my Messages on my IPhone?

  • HT5538 Can a hacker remotely send iMessages to my contacts from my Apple devices ?

    1. Can a hacker access my iMessage remotely and send messages from my Apple devices to my contacts ? This happened twice with me, despite me changing my password.
    2. Can Apple security dept. trace this hacker ?
    3. Is this hacking considered a system fault ?
    Thank you

Thanks for the response! I was wondering if it would be possible to contact Apple and ask them to manually link this phone number with my Apple ID, so that I could receive messages on both? Im guessing this wouldnt be possible?

  • Today my boyfriend said I was imessaging him while at work, how can someone possibly hack into my apple id?

I got home today and my boyfriend said someone was messaging him from my itouch through imessage, I checked and someone was actually texting him through my itouch! I asked around the house if someone has gona to my to use it but everyone is usually not home and I actually have a passcode on my itouch so its pretty impossible for someone to get into it. I'm wondering if its possible for someone to hack through my apple id and start using it? This is really worryin gme

Any device signed into that appleid will send / receive messages. I send from my mac, it shows on my iphone and ipod simultaneously. Someone replys to my message and all the devices get the responses. Don't share appleids if you don't want to share personal info.

  • Someone has hacked my iMessage

my Macbook pro has come up with a notification saying Sandra's iPad is now linked in with my iMessage, how to i remove this unknown user?

Sandra, whoever that is, has signed in to iMessage with your Apple ID. If you don't want that to happen, and you don't know who Sandra is, sign out of iMessage, change the account password, then sign back in. You will also have to deal with the other implications of a compromised account, depending on what you use the Apple ID for.

  • Ipad2 hacked?! Mysterious iMessage conversation between unknown persons on my iPad

I have owned my iPad 2 since last sept. it is basically my computer and with me almost all of the time.
I do not own an iPhone.
The ipad is pass code locked.
Until today I have never used the iMessage app. Not opened it.
It did not indicate I had any unread messages, for what I thought are obvious reasons.
I opened it for the first time today to message a friend.
I found a conversation already on my iPad. Between unknown persons. Talking about smoking something and using the n word a lot. The number from the device NOT my iPad is totally unfamiliar. Nowhere on an contact list, phone log, email, etc. when I contacted this person to ask who they were, they were coy, would not tell me, and seemed utterly unconcerned that a stranger had just read their conversation.
Also, imessege claimed the conversation had been read on the date it was sent, back in March.
Again, I have never even opened this app until today.
This iPad has not been repaired or out of my possession or used by others at all.
I also don't live with anyone who speaks in this manner. The diction is just not right. Nor anyone who smokes anything of any kind. My partner and I are too old for that ****.
Furthermore, the date and time for the conversation were for March 19th in the early afternoon. I know exactly where I was. I was at home. ON MY IPAD. I even have some writing saved on that day that would have been from around that time in the day. It's an east bay number, but I live in sf AND, at that time, my iPad number had a Kentucky number attached to it (I only got it changed to a local area code earlier this month).
This is pretty scary. Please tell me I am missing something and this is no big deal and explain to me how. Because this looks bad. It looks to me that two people discussing drugs used my iPad to port a conversation about it and that is really, really, really disturbing.

The feature really doesn't work very well yet. Most likely a future update will fix it or at least make it more obvious why it doesn't behave consistently.
For what it's worth, after following the caller ID instructions that you have tried, it took about a day for syncing to start working but some conversations and messages still never show up on my iPad.
Not much we can do but wait for iOS 5.1 I'm afraid. No doubt apple are aware of the issue at this point.

  • My wifes Iphone's imessaging has been hacked!

We are getting a 3rd party sending messages during out conversations. They show that the messages are coming from my wife but they are not! How can I fix this?
    Thanks

Did you set up your kids phones using the same computer? Is there any chance one of them synced their iPhone/iPod/iPad to the same computer she syncs to? If so, Their device may have been inadvertently set up with her information.

  • HT3529 iMessage appearing in 2 different iPhones with distinct phone numbers but using same apple ID

I and my friend both use same apple ID. When someone sends me an iMessage to my iPhone, it goes to his iPhone with separate phone number also. When I send someone an iMessage from my iPhone, the message will appear as sent from his iPhone also. But the receiving person will get only one iMessage (from my number).
Both of us have ios 6 and separate phone numbers but same apple ID.
    How is this possible?
When I checked setting on iMessage on my phone, send and receive shows my phone number and email address only.
Has my iPhone been hacked by him?
    Please help

    cheonweb wrote:
iMessage is linked to a phone number AND an email (Apple ID) address.
Sorry for bugging cheonweb but I just want to be clarified:
    1) If the phone numbers are different but the Apple ID is same, he would still get iMessages sent from/to my Phone number?
    2) Why is it not vice versa? Why do I not get messages sent from/to his iPhone?
    Thanks in advance
