Hacker posing as MobileMe sending out old files?

A shared file file just appeared in my Sent folder that came from files.me.com, which was MobileMe.  It looks like it was sent from me to me, but it doesn't appear in my inbox.  MobileMe is defunct, how did this happen? Have I been hacked?  How can I stop this?

This is weird.  It appears in my Sent folder on my iphone, but not on webmail version of iCloud on my Mac.  The date is definitely today, timed at 11:58 PST this morning.

  • Numbers won't let me send out a file to my email

I try sending a file in the Numbers App to my email but it will just shows me that it's Creating Spreadsheet and it will only load a tenth of the way and stop. What should I do?

    Hi Van,
I don't know what hardware you are running it is possible you are running out of ram or have a slightly corrupt file. Try closing all apps, restarting your device, opening numbers and then try sending it to email.
    hope this helps

  • Out of office sending out old messages - Exchange 2010 - Outlook 2007

Tracking down an issue of a user (I think it's only one) having their Out of Office Message always being a previous message from a year or two back.  Doesn't matter if it's changed in Outlook 2007 or in OWA.
I've read some older post on this, but didn't find a clear answer.
This current Exchange 2010 setup is a migration from 2003.  Could this be a leftover migration issue?
    Anybody have this happen recently?

    Hi,
How do you know this is an old reoccurring message? Based on the content or time?
Since the MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration is correct, I suspect the issue can occur by certain client machine. At this stage, I suggest you disable OOF and re-enable
OOF on the problematic machine. If the issue persists, please refer to the following article to clean the problematic client’s Outlook rules. (run Outlook.exe /cleanrules in Run console.)

  • Clearing out old files

Hi there... I'm brand new to these forums so if I am being totally redundant here, please excuse.
I have a PowerBook G4 that is just about 6 months past the extended Applecare Protection plan.
    Model Name: PowerBook G4 15"
    Model Identifier: PowerBook5,4
    Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (1.1)
    Processor Speed: 1.33 GHz
    Number Of CPUs: 1
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
    Memory: 768 MB
    Bus Speed: 167 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.8.6f0
I just got an iPhone and went to activate it only to find that I was still using 10.3.9 and couldn't do it. So I go get 10.5 and install it. When it came time to do the software updates, I didn't have enough room on my hard drive. The capacity is a bit under 56 GB and I have less than 2GB available now that I have installed 10.5. What is the most efficient way to go through and weed out what I don't want or need, without accidentally deleting something important?

    David:
Are the hard drives you are recommending the kind that install internally?
They are. You can have them professionally installed or, if you are a bit handy, you can do it yourself with directions from ifixit.
Here are few tips you may find helpful:
    • Print out the ifixit directions as well as the screw guide ahead of time.
    • Be sure you have the right tools. You don't want to damage the screw heads or you may never get them out. And the Torx 8 screw driver is critical.
    • I use small medicine cups one for the screws in each step. I nest them so that the last ones out and the first to go back in are on top. You can use an ice cube tray, egg carton, dixie cups etc. (Some users report cutting up the screw guide and placing the applicable section in each container.)
    • Be very careful pulling out leads. Hold the lead as close to the plug as possible and wiggle (the plug ) to loosen its grip. Don’t hold the wires and pull as that can damage the cable, or worse, in some instances pull the wires out of the plug. Indeed, some users have pulled the socket off the logic board! Use needle nose pliers or tweezers if you can access the plug, or nudge the plug with a small instrument to help loosen its grip.
    • Use force gently in removing parts. Separating upper and lower case takes some doing. Use a plastic tool (spudge) so as not to leave marks.
    • Refer to the screw guide when reassembling computer. Putting longer screws in the wrong place can perforate the circuit board.
what is the effect of the different speeds you mentioned (7200 vs. 5400 rpm)?
You would think the 7200 rpm would be the faster of the two. However, bench tests have shown that is not necessarily the case, and the 5400 rpm perform as well as the 7200 rpm. You can opt for greater capacity than greater speed without losing much
    Do I need more RAM?
The maximum RAM capacity for your computer is 2 GB: 2 - PC-2700 DDR333 200-pin SO-DIMM. You currently have a 512 MB module in one slot and a 256 module in the other. I suggest that you replace the 256 MB module with a 1 GB module, which will give you a decent 1.5 GB. You can upgrade the other slot either now or at a later time, if you think you would like to do so.
Please do post back with further questions or comments.
    Cheers

  • Can old time capsule receive signal w/o extending or sending out a signal?

I just purchased a new Airport Extreme to replace my old Airport Extreme w/ Time Capsule.  I was wondering if there's a way to have the old AE w/ Time Capsule still connect to my network so I can backup wirelessly without actively sending out/extending a wifi signal.
The new Airport Extreme supplies faster internet to my house and I'm afraid if I have the old Airport Extreme extending the signal it will degrade the speed I'm getting with the new router.
Therefore, I was wondering if there's a way to just have the old machine in a hypothetical "receive only" mode.
I know I can plug in a hard drive to the USB 2.0 into the new Airport Extreme, but I was curious if there's a way I can still use my old machine.
    Thanks!

Yes, what you want to do is easy.. until you hit Yosemite.
Plug the old TC WAN port into the new AE LAN port with standard ethernet patch cable.
In the airport utility locate the old TC.. you might need to do a factory reset as this is a major change of network and it is easier to start over.. none of the old backups will be deleted.
    Factory reset universal
Power off the TC.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the TC to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
N.B. None of your files on the hard disk of the TC are deleted.. this simply clears out the router settings of the TC.
Now set it up in bridge mode.. that should the the automatic setup default in this case.. and turn off wireless.
You can now access the old TC in TM on the computer.. unless it is Yosemite.. in which case you have a pile of other stuff that might be needed..
    Tell us how you go.
However to make life easier in the new setup.. please stick to these rules.
Then redo the setup from the computer with Yosemite.
    1. Use very short names.. NOT APPLE RECOMMENDED names. No spaces and pure alphanumerics.
eg TCgen5 and TCwifi for basestation and wireless respectively.
Even better if the issue is more wireless use TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels as this also seems to help stop the nonsense. But this can be tried in the second round.
    2. Use all passwords that also comply but can be a bit longer. ie 8-20 characters mixed case and numbers.. no non-alphanumerics.
    3. Ensure the TC always takes the same IP address.. you will need to do this on the main router using dhcp reservation.. or a bit more complex setup using static IP in the TC. But this is important.. having IP drift all over the place when Yosemite cannot remember its own name for 5 min after a reboot makes for poor networking. If the TC is main router it will not be an issue.
    4. Check your share name on the computer is not changing.. make sure it also complies with the above.. short no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. but this change will mess up your TM backup.. so be prepared to do a new full backup. Sorry.. keep this one for second round if you want to avoid a new backup.
    5. Mount the TC disk in the computer manually.
In Finder, Go, Connect to server from the top menu,
Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever the TC ip is which you have now made static. As a router by default it is 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with that unless you know what you are doing).
You can use name.. SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your TC name.. local is the default domain of the TC and doesn't change.
However names are not so easy as IP address.. nor as reliable. At least not in Yosemite they aren't. The domain can also be an issue if you are not plugged or wireless directly to the TC.
    6. Make sure IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open the network preferences, wireless and advanced / TCP/IP.. and fix the IPv6. to link-local only.

  • Since upgrading to Snow Leopard from V10.4.8 My copy of Open office won't load.  I've downloaded the latest version but it still responds with a "time out" message.  Anyone know waht's up and what I can do about it.  I can't even read my old files.

Since upgrading the OS on my MacBook to Snow Leopard my open office suite has died.  All the old files are still on the HDD, but even "finding" them doesn't help as they are opened, unhelpfully, in Text Edit, which loses some of the formatting.  I tried downloading the latest edition of Open Office, but it has made no difference.  Any suggestions?  Apple OS support has no solution to offer.

Found this, which might provide a clue:
I have had problems with 3.1 after installing Snow Leopard, with files created in MS Word - they come up with the text invisible (as though it's white, but changing the text colour doesn't help - by highlighting I can tell that the paragraphs are where they should be).
I upgraded to 3.1.1 but that did not solve the problem...
UPDATE: I found out the problem, it was nothing to do with Open Office, but rather the way Snow Leopard handles fonts. I went into the Font Book and found that a number of common fonts are now listed both in the "User" and "Computer" collections. I deleted the duplicate ones from "User" and now all works perfectly.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Clear old files out of Project Package Contents

Under project settings > Apple iOS > Package Contents are listed a ton of old files that have been removed / renamed etc. I can still check them off, but they no longer exist.
How do I clear or refresh this list? All these files at one time lived in an "assets" folder that was included in the packaging. The assets folder still exists, but many of those files have been deleted. Sadly, the FlashBuilder UI doesn't seem to want to refresh and get rid of those old items. How can I do that?
    Thanks

    Hey Andy,
I do not have a solution but I am having a similar problem. I opened up a project yesterday and the audio sequences were actually in pieces all out of order with large chunks missing. If someone has a solution, perhaps it will apply to both of these situations.

  • Automatically send out shared review files from hotfolder?

Hi - I haven't been able to find an answer so I hope you can help me.
Basically, I have a group of 10 people who always needs to review PDF files.
Currently one of them is taking care of sending out for shared review but I would like to eliminate that step as it takes a lot of time.
Is it possible to automate this process, e.g. by placing PDFs in a hotfolder and have them sent out automatically for these 10 people? Or is there another option that could completely eliminate the need for a person to send them out for shared review?
    Any suggestions are very welcome.
    Regards,
    Filip Jensen

    Hi Filip,
Unfortunately shared reviews are designed to be a manual process initiated on the desktop.

  • I am new at this.  Cannot send out pdf's from my computer. They receive message that says "cannot open this file" or corrupted file.  I can receive just fine.  Any suggestions?

Everytime I try to send out a pdf file, on the receiving end it shows they cannot open it or it shows corrupted.  I send to large companies so I know it is not on their end. I can receive them fine.  Don't know if this could be an adobe issue or a Norton's issue.  Any ideas I can check out?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, to no avail. I am super frustrated.
Print>Save as PDF - uses Preview (part of OS X), so Adobe Reader should have no effect on that at all.
As to the "damaged file" error, simply uninstalling the Reader app won't affect it. Do the following:
    Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins
Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files
    Mac HD/Applications
    Trash the Adobe Reader app
    [user]/Library/Preferences
    Trash the com.adobe.Reader.plist file
To access the [user]/Library, hold the "Option" key and click "Go" from the FInder menu.
    Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Reader folder (the whole folder)
    Empty the Trash.
Download the FULL installer here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Quit your browser and reinstall Reader.
Launch it from the Applications folder and accept the license agreement.
You should have no problems downloading PDFs with Safari.
Unfortunately, ANY PDF that says it's damaged.... is. You'll have to trash them.
