Has anyone ever had a USB port on their Macbook Pro suddenly go dead?
I was just wondering whether anyone using a MAcbook Pro Retina has suddenly had one of their USB ports die on them? My one port does not seem to recongise any peripheral hardware I attach to the port and I am confused why this should have happened. Apart from the obvious reason which is probably that the USB port has died I was just wondering whether this is a common fault with these machines and if it is, whether someone else may have a few words of wisdom related to how to solve the problem. The machine is not even 6 months old so I am reluctant to simply write this off to a failed USB port which will be the first time this has ever happened to me. I would value any input.

You have a one year warranty and I would definitely bring this to Apple for diagnosis and repair.

Occasionally, I will close my Macbook Pro when I'm not using it, and when I reopen it my wireless network shows as being connected, but the internet will not function whatsoever. I tried disabling the WIFI and re-enabling it but the problem persisted. Ultimately I have to just restart then everything works fine. I even tested my cell phone (which uses my home WIFI also) and was able to pull up websites, which isolates the problem to the computer.
Seems like after the computer goes on Standby or Sleep, it only has the trouble immediately after. Any help will be greatly appreciated!Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

has anyone ever had this problem and know how to fix it ?? I upload songs on to my ipod and they appear on my ipod in itunes but after i disconnect (the correct way) the songs do not appear on my ipod. If i plug the ipod back into my computer it still shows them as being on my ipod through itunes but not when i disconnect please please please help!! thankyou! (Also the songs i'm trying to upload are cd's that i have brought)
See Grouping tracks into albums, in particular the section Missing Artist or Album not with others by same artist.

I have a Macbook Pro, and I cannot get onto my my job's wi-fi network. Has anyone ever had a problem getting on a wi-fi network at your place of employment? I have a username and password for the network, but when I try to go through the Connection Assistant and put in my password, it says its the wrong password.

Has anyone ever had an email from Apple on IPad asking them to update their account details? The email seems genuine enough as it asks you to sign in with your Apple ID and password and takes you through to the Apple site but am a bit worried as they ask you in the section Update Your Apple account for bank and credit card details and for the security number on the back of the card. Also in the section where it asks for my mobile number it will only take 10 numbers and when ai try to put in the final (11th number) it won't let me. Sorry am new to all this and a bit confused! Has anyone ever had a problem with their iphone 4 not syncing and/or writing a backup file? Itunes locks up when i attempt a sync as well as when I transfer my purchases from my phone to Itunes. I'm running Itunes 10.4.1 on iOS 4.3.5. All of this is running on an 8 year old hp pavillian laptop running XP Pro that is fully updated. Could my phone have a bug or a hardware problem. Are there any known problems with iOS 4.3.5? Pretty frustrating problem so I'm hoping that someone has heard of this and can offer some suggestions on a solution. Thanks a bunch.
Did you used to have service and now suddenly you don't?
This happened to me a few years back, and several other iPhone users in my neighborhood, and after a while on the phone with AT&T they figured out that a technician had recently adjusted the receiver/sender on the tower and it was slightly off. They sent them back up and I actually had a better signal after than I did before it went out.
I would call AT&T and explain the issue you are having and see if they can fix it.
If you never had service there then like wjosten said it's probably just a bad zone.

My USB port on my Macbook Pro stopped working and i tried the SMC reset and the one closest to the SD port still continues to not work. Is there anything i can do besides bringing it in?
I would do another SMC reset. If nothing changes you should take the computer in to an Apple store for a free diagnostic. You should make an appointment.

Have you checked the Sound Preferences under the System Preferences and set it to USB speaker for the sound output? Sometimes it can change on its own or after and update of an App or the OS?
