Help desk opening hours

I've just tried to get to the BB help desk (10:45 pm) and it's closed.  I'm sure I have used it later than this in the past.  What hours do they keep?  Have they changed?  Have I been informed? Where would I expect to find this information (contacting a forum is a last resort)?  Thanks for any info.

Hi f2cf1g
I am sorry that you couldn't get through.  The helpdesk on 0800 111 4567 is open 24/7.
If you are really stuck you can post a message up on the forums and I am sure someone will give you a hand.

  • Help Desk Tickets not updating when Refreshing (7.4.00070)

I usually create tickets right from the Help Desk (Open Tickets) screen, and lately I've been noticing that sometimes when I create a ticket, (and assign it to myself) it won't show up in the queue until I navigate off of the page and then back. (Like clicking Dashboard, and then back to Tickets). Clicking the [Refresh Tickets] button doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure if it's a bug, or a performance issue (but my VM running Spiceworks seems to be happily chugging along.)
Client: Win 7 x64 Pro, connecting via Comodo Dragon (V43.3something)
Server: Server 2012R2 (Virtual Machine- 6 cores, 8GB of RAM) running Spiceworks as a service
Network: Under 250 devices, Gigabit connections to/from server, less than 500 tickets.

I have just tried to install that update but again it tells me "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact software manufacturer for assistance"
Is there some way of finding what is wrong?
I really have been trying to update for months now.
    Thanks

  • Allow help desk to manage open files on file server

I am looking to delegate the ability to manage open files to our help desk users.  They are getting an increasing number of calls from users asking about files and who has them open, or to force close them..etc.
The help desk users are not admins on our file server, therefore do not have access to RDP to the file server.  I was hoping they could do it from computer management RSAT tools on their local machine.  I just don't know how to allow them to do
    it.
    Thanks
    sb

    Hello,
Since they are not able to RDP the FS then they should need to access files using shared folders.
For that, you will need to share the root folder where your files are. Please give Full Control permission on it. Here, to manage their permissions, you can grant them what you want using NTFS permissions.
Note that NTFS and Share permissions are combined and the user will be have the minimum of privileges when he access the folder as a share. For that, I recommended using FC permission on the shared folder to avoid additional management tasks.

  • How can I open the Permissions Manager? I have tried using the directions from the help desk, but it does not work. Any sugestions?

I have done what the help desk said to by typing about:permissions in the spot you would type a webpage in, but it does not work. Help please.

'''about:permissions''' doesn't work in the version of Firefox you are using.
Exactly what permissions do you need access to?

  • Help Desk - Project Management Add-on

Background:  We currently offer a third party e-commerce solution for our clients called Four51.   Four51 is integrated into our SAPB1 platform.   We provide comprehensive print managment and marketing fulfillment programs for medium and large sized organizations.  ( We have 20 associates and about 6MM in sales - size perspective )
1st Problem:  In support of about 100 e-commerce sites for our end clients we receive multiple help desk request daily.   We have found the B1 core does not quite fit the need to track help desk service request etc....
2nd Problem:  In addition to the help desk service ticket issue....we also have a scheduling requirement for our ebusiness group. Example:  we have 4 site builds....I need to be able to track the estimated FTE hours to build 4 sites and then benchmark against project completed and actual FTE hours deployed.
Sought solution:   Is there a SAPB1 Add-on that will handle help desk service request...and project scheduling....integrated of course to my Business Partner data in B1.....and provide reporting etc....
If there is not an Add-on is there a software solution that is recommended.   Any recommendations or information would be very helpful.

The customers might benefit from using salesforce.com and using the netweaver integration which works with 2007 SP1 and 8.8.
Also you can suggest that they use SAP by-design if available in your market as it tends to be a very modular version of All-in-One with some nifty features and lots of flexiblity.

  • UCCX 9.0 - Flexible open hours/dates

    Hi All,
I’m new to uccx scripting and I need some advice...
We currently have a number of live queues setup with hard coded open hours and dates. (i.e. 9am-5pm and closed for holidays)
Now the company wants to move to a more a flexible model.
The ideal solution is that we have a structured model, with supervisors having the ability to temporarily shut the queue (non-emergency messaging) or open the queue in and out of normal operation hours.
Any advice/solutions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Oliver

You need to define a bit more about what it is that you need.
    I.e.,
How should people access the interface?  TUI?  Web?  Both?  Other?  Additional?
How do you authenticate users to the interface?  User ID + Password?  Simple PIN?  Other?
How do you authorize users to change the specific queue or department?
However, I can tell you from experience the most popular solution for opening and closing a call center at any given moment, is to log in an Agent account that you check for in the script.  E.g., Agent name cs_closed, and your script checks their log status.  If they are logged in, then you close the call center.  I don't like this method because it burns an Agent license.
I would suggest just storing a value in a text file in the repository to achieve the same thing, but instead of logging in an Agent to "flag" the change, create a simple little IVR that allows callers to "flag" the text file, and then your calling script just reads the flag.
Here's a recent post I made, describing one way to achieve this:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/4147363#4147363
Outside of the popular option, there's holding values on an external source: databases if you have premium, web servers if you have enhanced or standard.
If the times are variable but within a limited set of combinations, then you could just have a switch step switching which Time of Day block is being used based on that same text file solution above.
You could also write your own Time of Day step by using simple logic such as:
    If (T[now] >= start && T[now] <= end)
And then your start and end variables could be application parameters for which your admins can log into UCCX to modify.
Anyway, lots of options here, too many to go through.  Do you have more specific questions?

  • Problems with Adobe CS5 Photoshop since Help Desk install

i downloaded the CS5 Photoshop upgrade and attempted to install.  It would not install so i contacted the help desk about 2 weeks ago.  The help desk rep signed into my mac and after about an hour or so was able to complete the install of Photoshop.
However, now when i try to add plug ins, i get an error message with the plugin installed (tried 3 different ones) saying that I do not have Photoshop installed.
Went to online chat and they told me to call 800 number,
Called 800 number and cued myself for a call back.  Ryan called me back took all my information and then the line was disconnected.  He took my callback number but never did call back.
Called 800 number a second time, qued myself for a call back.  Adobe called me back, i waited 10 minutes with music, the music stopped and someone was on the line, but they disconnected the call.
Now on 3rd call back with a 40 minute wait.  and i am waiting until someone answers

There support sucks. I have trying to install mime. Was in two different chats and still nothing. Not a happy camper.

  • Help Desk Failure

After the saga of getting a proper connection. Link I moved house.
It was only about half a mile away on the same cable but the download
speed was around the 2000Kpbs mark with a profile of 2500Kpbs
which I knew should be better.
25-Nov   Contacted India help desk who said 2500Kpbs was the maximum for
the line length. I insisted it was not and after about and hour they
put me onto the BT Boost centre in Newcastle. They arranged a
callback slot for the following day.
26-Nov   Newcastle rang and said that was the maximum for the line length.
I repeated it was not and it had just dropped to 1700Kpbs so the line
was unstable. They checked the log of the speedtests I had done
and agreed to send a Boost Engineer.
30-Nov   Boost Engineer visits, tests line and and I am now at 4995Kpbs with
a Profile of 5500Kpbs. He also informs me that they are trialing a new
system where they can reset the profile to the correct level themselves
from the customers premises. This took up to three days before.
To me this whole experience shows how (in)capable the Help Desk are and that
    Profiles are still being locked/capped.

The best thing you can do with BT Desktop help is uninstall it. It is a load of junk and can cause problems on some computers and is not needed to connect to the internet or for anything else on your computer.

  • Help Desk Dashboard

    Hello CSC
We are trying to enable our HelpDesk to use LMs on a daily basis but in order to do that we would like to give them access only to some dashboards and not to all the dashboards that their role gives them access.
I am sure we are not the first ones to try this and therefore I would like to hear about possible solutions and experiences.
PS:Role mangement is done and added to the different local users.

If you value honest feedback, here's mine. The new version (I'm sorry) is kinda awful. The changes are without merit and seem arbitrary and have broken our established workflow (that's a bad thing). Main dashboard page does not have a menu item for helpesk...I had to add the ticketwidget and click help desk on that instead of it being readily on the top of the page when I open Spiceworks (the main reason I open Spiceworks every dayis missing from the main page?? What possible reason for that could there be?)Also took me an long time to find where to select "mine, open, closed," etc...and I don't see a ticket count visible, IE 92 open tickets, 3 unassigned, etc....maybe it's there...I dunno. I feel like I'm looking at a moiré pattern with random text sprayed all over it. The update is bewildering at best with the shadow, half references...

  • Prompted for credentials when running the Recovery Audit Report on MBAM Help Desk web portal

I am prompted for my credentials when I try to run the Recovery Audit Report on MBAM Help Desk web portal.  I am a member of the MBAM Read Only Reports group which I specified during the web portal configuration wizard.  I would like to suppress
    the prompt for credentials.

Add the URL to the Local Intranet sites did not work.  The Help desk  web portal is on port 8088 and it does not allow you to specify the port when you add the URL to the Local Intranet sites.  I am able to access the Reports page from the
Help Desk web portal when I open a browser on the IIS server, but the Reports page does not open without a prompt when I open a browser on a client.  Strange.

  • Granting Help Desk access to view Knowledge Articles

When our Help Desk techs open the Service Manager Console, they cannot view the Library node and hence cannot view the Knowledge node underneath and the Knowledge Articles. Is there a way to grant them access so they only see the Knowledge node and "All
Knowledge Articles" below that? I took a look at the pre-canned roles and could not find anything that gives that specific a right.

    Hi
Because Knowledge articles are Configuration Items you can create some own views in the Configuration Item section and give special privileges to those new views. For more information you can also have a look at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/9077a6c6-decf-45e1-b523-8697041d8cc8/how-to-give-createedit-privileges-only-for-knowledge-articles-announcements?forum=administration

  • Help Desk Segregation

We currently use the Help Desk ticketing system in Spiceworks"which is awesome for our needs", but I would like to open this up to staff-non IT to have a ticketing and tracking amongst themselves for items outside of IT. Is it possible to has this segregation from IT tickets and general staff so they can collaborate on items without having access to IT data "tickets"? I would prefer to have only one instance of Spiceworks, but may need to have 2 different installs. Any info would be much appreciated!! Thanks

I had this problem also.  After contacting Cisco, they informed me that the Help Desk Administrator role doesn't have the authority to make chages to accounts that have higher privileges such as System Administrators and Help Desk administrators.
Basically, the Help Desk role can only make changes to users.
