Help for a Dyslexic user?

Hello Fellow Mac Users!
This is my first real post here and I am looking for your help:
I am a Dyslexic user with ‘moderate’ challenges which I have worked around in MS Word and I now need to learn to tweak Pages in the same way. I have tried Google but as you can perhaps understand this is a little hit and miss for me.
If I could ask you a few questions I would be obliged:
• How do I automatically put the letter ‘I’ into upper case?
• Is there an auto correct function? In word I type ‘atm’ and that then corrects it to ‘After the Mouse’ for example (my website afterthemouse.com)
I am sorry if these are basic noobie questions but I hope you understand.

You are privileged in that system support for the US English writing system is beyond system support for EU writing systems. The system is able to read English aloud to you. The system has automatic spell checking for English, although you will have to confirm suggested corrections. The Pages application can be configured to automatically substitute atm for After the Mouse.

Help for flashed blackberry user

I have a blackberry flashed for cricket service and when i updated my phone I deleted facebook and now i have no internet at all. the icon is gone. i need to get that back. blackberry apps world says my phone 8130 is not compatible to download that software. is that because i have no browser information? also, my phone periodically deletes all my texts and call logs. can I prevent that? also, is there a way to download all texts? what program would i use? i also don't have outlook, so is there another way to save my contacts and back up data? and lastly, when i downloaded my pictures/video to my computer I lost the video...any idea where it might have gone? i apologize, i am new to blackberry and totally ignorant, i appreciate any help. thanks!

Help for the end users

(This isn't really a technical question, so apologies if I've posted this in the wrong forum.)
I have been using Java Web Start for some time to distribute some of my software. I appreciate not having to create separate installers for each OS, and that I can ensure that all my users have the latest stable version of the software at all times. But when one of my users reports that they can't even run my application, it can be very difficult to diagnose the problem remotely.
The main problem is that my app is the only Java Web Start app most of my users have seen. So I spend most of my time diagnosing issues that have nothing to do with my code. The problem might be a browser issue. Maybe they haven't installed Java, or the browser doesn't "see" the Java installation. Maybe they're trying to launch the app by double-clicking on one of its data files. Maybe they aren't connected to the Internet and it's the first time they're using my app. Or as often happens, maybe it did exactly what it was supposed to do, but since it didn't "look" like the type of install that they're used to, they think that it didn't work!
These issues have seriously tempted me to give up on Java Web Start. But then I realised that it would solve a lot of problems if I could direct my users to a page on the Sun website that:
1. Had a sample Java Web Start app they could try running, and
2. Provided information to help non-technical users diagnose most problems they might encounter.
Virtually all of the information I've found about Java Web Start is targeted toward the person who is developing or deploying the application. And the one sample web start app I've found on Sun's website (http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/JavaLP/javawebstart/AutoInstallDemo.html) is for Windows only. I need a way to support my Mac users. (Fortunately, all my Linux users are techies!)
So how about it? Or is there already such a page, and I just haven't found it yet?

Yes you can have the results email to your email address if
that's what you want. If your users are going to take the "quiz"
from an on-line (web) location, there are going to be problems with
both web-based mail services because the email scoring
notification option is a simple Java-script invoking the "mailto"
command. And of course, those without an email account are a
special problem because they have no way to "mail" the results to
you , and you would have no way of knowing who they came from
anyway.

Printing help for new MAC user

I am a new MAC user trying convince myself this is better than a PC. I have been trying to 3 hours to figure out how to print in color with a document I've created in Pages. I am connected to a HP Photosmart wireless printer. Can someone help me?

Hi jersey,
Welcome to Apple Discussions and the Pages '09 forum.
Is this strictly a Pages/HP Photosmart issue, or do other applications share this inability to print in colour to this printer?
About the only advice I can offer is to:
1.
Check the HP site for any updated drivers for your printer. Download and install if any are found.
2.
Check the printer's settings in the Print dialogue. Your printer may offer the choice, here or in it's utility application, to print using only the black toner cartridge.
3.
Try opening Pages from a different user account, and printing a new document from there. Success would indicate the issue lies in your user account, probably in a corrupted Pages preference (.plist) file.Go back to your usual account, locate the file and drag it to the trash. Try printing again from your usual account.
If these don't help, I'd suggest reposting your question in the Printing, Faxing and Scanning forum in the Mac OS X v10.6 (Snow Leopard) section of Discussions.

Help For A Novice User Of Adobe Audition v.3

We purchased Adobe Audition vs. 3 to record programs to put on the radio. The trouble is I am a novice with this program.
Where do I go to learn how to use this program? The only thing I need for now is to know how to :
(1)Record a voice track
(2)Insert a track off a CD for an open to the program.
(3)Insert a track off a CD for a close to the program.
I only need the ABC's of getting started for now. Please direct me to the right source. Adobe wanted $39.00 to help.

http://www.lynda.com have some online training for Audition 3. I had a general subscription there and tried it out, and it's nice! It isn't free, but for little money you get up to speed very quickly and perhaps with a more hands-on approach that you'd prefer over reading yourself. We're all different.

Help for the new user

Apologies for the fairly basic nature of these questions, normally I would just head into an Apple Store and get some assistance. Unfortunately I am in the middle of nowhere without a reliable internet connection and want to back up my Macbook.
Any help would be appreciated;

The Time Capsule (TC) does not require an Internet connection in order to be the destination for backups from your MacBook (MB). Your MB can perform these backups while connected either by wire or wirelessly to the TC.

No. There are no provisions on any of the AirPorts, including the TC, for Bluetooth.
3. When I head home, will the time capasule easily intergrate into my wifi network??
Not knowing exactly what your home Wi-Fi network consists of, it would be hard to say, but the TC is capable of integrating with most existing wired or wireless routers.
4. Is there a way I can update the software in the time capsule if required, through my Macbook - without having the time capsule connected to the internet??

Is there any help for new iWeb users?

the tutorials I've found are inadequate for the most basic web site design and editing. I would like to do simple things like changing fonts, linking pages but there is nothing. Help

Hi,
This error appears when trying to install from a shared area that uses the universal naming convention (UNC) format, e.g. \\machine2\dev60.
The Oracle installer does not support UNC formats, therefore your share or staging area must be mapped to a drive letter.

Go to Preferences > My computer and tell us your model, iMac, eMac, PwrMac, etc. G3, G4, G5, 000 MB RAM, 000 MHz, System 9.x, 10.2.x 10.3.x. 10.4. All on your blue Apple pull down menu > "About this Mac" (Also, 000 GB HD, if you know it.) This helps us help you better.

Help for Windows 2000 user

I have Windows 2000, so I can't use iTunes. Is there any way I can get songs on my 3rd Generation Nano without iTunes

I had the same problem: new nano requires itunes 7.4, which requires windows XP or vista. I solved by installing Winamp, it works with the new ipod nano. I'm not using itunes anymore, but I plan to keep an eye on itunes updates, because I hope they will support Windows 2000.

When I go to update my software using the app store download, it always asks for the previous user's ID, not mine (my IT guy at school's-I am a faculty with admin priviledges). I have signed in as me, have set the main preferences login user as me,and everywhere on the laptop I can use my apple ID except here. It always shows me a greyed out ID of my IT. How can I reset this to my ID? It doesn't give me an option to change the user ID, only a link to reset password. I reset it, but it did not change the problem. Can someone help me?

It's not an ID problem, it's an ownership problem.
When someone uses their personal Apple ID to buy and download content, the content is licensed to them and has their Apple ID engrained in it's DNA. It is an anti-piracy program. And when that personal Apple ID is used to setup a new Mac, it involves the Mac itself, the shipping OS and any pre-installed apps as well.
It's not the correct way to handle Macs that belong to a business or an institution. And had it been handled correctly they would not now be in this predictument needing a drastic remedy.

Need help for user exit mereq001

Hi,
I need help for user exit mereq001. I think I messed up with include table CI_EBANDB and CI_EBANMEM. And When I tried to check the syntax . It gives me error like : <b>Class IF_PURCHASE_REQUISITION. Inconsistency in the dictionary for the structure mereq_item_s_cust_data.</b> Anyone had experience for this exit? I just need to extract costcenter information of the each item from the requisition and block the requisiton if the costcenter are differents from each other before the requisition is saved. Any one has idea about it?

Have you checked this struture consistency from SE11. Also check the activation log.
If there are any errors and you are not able to rectify the same use RSDDCHECK program, give your table name and run the report.
This will list down the error structures releated this table and also prompts for you to activate it.
