Help! I am a PS5 moron!

I am trying to use Photoshop CS5 as part of the trial before I buy/update my CS3. Does PS have a photo bin at the bottom of the screen or is that available only in PSElements? If there is a photo bin in PS, how do I make it visible?

I'm not sure I understand you mean by your last question "Do I need to use Bridge?" You do not need to use bridge to open files in Photoshop. That can be accomplished by File > Open. Bridge has functionality which can be beneficial to you as a user. You can either use Mini Bridge (which is bridge as a dock-able palette in Photoshop) or Bridge as a separate application. If you want the "photo bin at the bottom" functionality you can dock the mini bridge palette at the bottom of the application frame. Hope this helps, John

Brush reset help

Hello, i am new to this forum and a begginner photoshop user. i need a little help with my new PS5.... i selected a different brush from my brush palett and now cant seem to get my CURSOR back to the way it was. originally when i was using either a brush or eraser, the CURSOR on the screen was a ROUND CIRCLE.... now i have a CROSS HATCH as a cursor.... can someone tell me how to get my CORSOR back to being ROUND...thanks...Dave

Press the Caps Lock key to toggle cursor shape.

Airport not accepting users at the same time???

I searched the archives so my apologies if this topic has already been answered. Please help. About a week ago we discontinued dsl and got cable internet. All seemed to be working fine for a few days with the airport extreme and two expresses in the house. (modem supplied by adelphia and plugged into WAN port of extreme). Then we noticed that we lost service every time we went into the vicinity of one of the expresses, and realized that the light was always yellow. We couldn't get it to connect, so we just got rid of it. That's when our problems started.
Now, whenever we do diagnostics (using safari) we can easily connect with one computer by restarting the modem and airport. Problem is then the other computer gets disconnected. We can connect by directly plugging the computer into the ethernet cable from the modem, so we know it's not the cable modem. I don't understand when only one computer can connect at a time using airport, but that seems to be the case right now.
Are there any suggestions to what we might try? Thanks so much!!!

try a complete system reset.
Just a thought, and a little more info.
In Kansas, the land of the 3 suns, we have some
storms that are worth writing home about. I lost an
extreme because of exactly what you explained just
the WAN port everything else was fine.
Fortunatly in my case Applecare took care of it.
Just one final idea. sometimes when doing a complete
system reset it requires you to wait longer than the
5 minutes and if for some reason your not waiting
long enough for your Modem and your Extreme to
acquire the signal it will also cause you problems
with the wireless portion of your Airport Extreme.
First make sure your settings in System Preferences
and Network are set to Airport and it is highlighted
with the green dot and drag it to the top of the
list.
Next sut your computers clear off.
Next make sure you pull the power adapter from the
ISP's Modem and the Airport Extreme and wait 10
minutes this time, now inthis order after your wait.
Plug in the ISP's Modem and wait at least a minute or
until all of your lights are functioning.(Normally 3)
depending on the Modem you have.
After this plug in the power adapter to the Extreme.
NOTE: just sutting them off with the power button
doesn't work you have to pull the power adapter from
the back of both.
Now that you have waited the 2nd time for the Extreme
to acquire the signal you should be good to go.
another NOTE: I have had to repeat this process as
many as 3 time before I have gotten it to work each
time waiting longer in between steps. If this doesn't
do the trick then you might have very well have
cooked something atributed to the power outage caused
by either a Power Surge or Lightning
Ignore the storm and lightning unless it applies.

You know, I really hate being an idiot--but I guess you always learn from your mistakes!!
So, this is what happened--I followed all the directions (or so I thought) for resetting the airport, checking the indicator lights, unplugging for half and hour--all that. EXCEPT, that when I was resetting the airport, the airport was OFF!! The dsl modem which I used to have required you to hit the reset button when it was off--I don't know why. So I naturally assumed that I had to unplug the airport and hold the reset button. But alas, butthead over here needed to reset the airport while it was on. So, that was the solution. You guys are all so helpful and kind to us morons....er, I'm not the only one, right???

How to download a purchased CS5.5 for Mac

My laptop was stolen, now I have a new laptop and have to download all manually.
In "My Adobe" I have located the serial number for my software, but no download links in "Order history".
Please help me to download PS5.5 for Mac.

If you bought the physical box version, there will be no download link.
In my case, there's not even an Order History in my account despite a long list of registered products there, because I didn't buy directly from Adobe until CS5, which I bought in the box. I've bought either from MacMall or from Amazon.com. Cheaper prices, much better customer service.
The only version for which I can see a download link is CS6, because I got it for free with the purchase of the CS5 box.

Pasting illustrator object in Photoshop causes lines to change color

I've never had this problem before, but today when I cut and paste from illustrator to photoshop, the lines aren't black anymore, they're a shade of grey. When I double click the smart object to go back to illustrator, they show correctly as being black. The opacity of the smart object is 100% so I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it. Help!

I just noticed today that even though my black on white illustrator lines looked black, they were, in-fact, not black. Therefore, when I transferred them over to PS, of course they weren't black! They were a dark grey, same as in Illustrator.

HT4191 Syncing Notes across different devices

I seem to have separate Notes on iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro although I would love to sync them across all of these. When I try to activate the Notes facility it keeps asking me to create an iCloud account, which I already have. When I try to enter my existing iCloud account it says, unsurprisingly, that "this address is already taken"??? I'm going round in ever decreasing circles, please help. Thank you.

Hello Demo, I'm sorry if I seemed a little curt with your very welcome, helpful response. I wasn't intending to be rude.
It obviously doesn't help that I'm a moron with Apple applications as I'm relatively new having come from many years of Windows platforms.
The problem seems to lie in my having TWO iCloud email addresses: ***@iCloud.com and ***@me.com. When I first joined iCloud through 'mobile me' some time ago, I was still using a Toshiba laptop but had purchased my first Apple product, an iPhone. This required me applying for an Apple account with an iCloud.com suffix but I have NEVER used either as an email address. I still use my old hotmail.com address. I'm now thinking that it's probably best to ditch this and my iCloud.com email address and transfer everything over to my me.com email address? Is this feasible and easy to do?

G4mx440 d3d and other probs..

Ok, I have read through the threads here for a couple days and I am still having problems. First, my specs:
AMD Tbird 1.2ghz
Epox 8kta3
512mb SDRam
Windows XP Pro
and, obviously a MSI g4mx440..
I read about the psu problems everyone mentioned and thought confidantly that I was immune, but when I checked, my psu definately wasn't up to par, so I went and bought a new one:
PowMax LP-6100X-400w
+3.3v/28a +5v/30a +12v/25a -5v/.3a -12v/.8a
+5Vsb/2.0a
I am having problems with both the tabs added to the display window (both crash.. MSI clock & info and then disappear). A couple examples of games.. Half-Life.. D3D works, but not well.. i get major clipping (see through walls), opengl i get an hourglass and a message about "driver mismatch: exit is the only option."
NHL 2003, works fine through the menus, and then flys on for about 20 seconds into the game before it either locks or drops me out.
Other games work fine (Like Unreal Tournament).
I have tried every driver I can find, including hunting down Nvidia's 30.78 detonator driver, which a valve tech told me to try. Not to mention I reinstalled Windows XP, which I have not had any problems with until this episode. Any help, ideas, or observations of moronic mistakes I made would be greatly appreciated.

They error message I get is "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred. Photoshop will now exit."
This only started after I upgraded my OS to Yosemite.

The upgrade has been know to break Photoshop CS5 installs. An Uninstall/Reinstall may be necessary.

AIR Damaged, can't access PS5 Help

I have been trying to access PS5 Help, but all I get is a window saying that this installation of this application (AIR) is damaged. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher... I have unisntalled, re-downloaded, reinstalled repeatedly. Same result. Obviously, PS5 help is no help, since I need AIR to access that.

It appears several other people have encountered similar issues recently, and there has been no response. Very unhelpful help, Adobe!

It is not clear whether you are a user of PS5 (whatever that is) who is having trouble installing their product help or a technical author who has produced the help and is having trouble getting the help to work prior to distributing it.
From what I can make of the logs, it looks like you are a user of PS5 and it is they who you should contact. This forum is for people who are producing the help.

Now that I'm looking at it, I don't have it... but I still have the problem:(. I rebooted the PRAM, I cleaned my permissions, run utilities checks, nothing helps, I'm at the end of my wits. I called apple - all I got was bad attitude... I don't know what to do, this disfunction makes it impossible for me to work....

I have oracle cert, passed brain-bench at 88% but apparently I am a moron.
This beautifully designed oracle discoverer is smarter than me. I could see no way to download their wrapper of simple excel pivot tables called 'Discoverer' without also downloading the Oracle9iAS. whatever.
So I go thru kittens installing 9iAS infrastructure and then 9iAS BI ( Claims in black and white to include Discoverer ) and after fighting many battles and getting it to work - there is no Discover. Nice job Oracle I bet this helps boost your sales and stock price you knuckleheads.
Why is there a discover menu choice without any useful gui to pick from?

OK, its not in 9iAS because that bundle only contains the server portion. Fair enough. However every link regarding Discover leads me back to the 9iAS. Does anybody know if its possible to download the latest Discover client from OTN or is this doftware closely guarded to preserve revenue?

I just updated my Mac OSX to Yosemite. I'm using PS5.1 extended. I've dl'd and installed the Java update, as recommended, but Photoshop still refuses to open. HELP!

I just updated my Mac OS to Yosemite. Every other program is working fine, but not Photoshop. I've tried everything mentioned in the forums, including updating the JAVA program, a restart and still PS will not open, giving me a "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has just occurred. Photoshop will now exit." warning. HELP! I rely very heavily on this program and my attempts to obtain help from Adobe have been utterly futile.

Reinstall Photoshop CS5 to replace the files damaged by the MacOS 10.10 installer.

Not sure why this is happening but can be couple of reasons:
1) Your download is not proper , while installing it is trying to find some required components which are not there and showing that they are disabled.
2) Which language have you selected for install.
There must be logs created kept at this location: Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Installers by the name of Adobe Photoshop CS5. Can you please share that.

Adobe PS5.1 will not accept serial number - please help!!

I am really frustrated about my new Photoshop CS5.1.
When I installed the s/w, I entered the serial number. All was working ok until it decided I was on a trial and asked me to enter the serial number again. When I entered the serial number, it gave me an error saying the serial number is invalid.
I tried the uninstall and install again - but to no avail.
Now the "trial period" has expired and I cannot work with the product anymore. With a bunch of customer deadlines, I am stuck. This is really frustrating for a product that cost so much to purchase.
Please help.

I have heard you can convert your personal dvd's to MP4 using dvd decrypter and videora.
So how do you use dvd decrypter and vedeora to create a single mp4 file? When I use dvd decrypter I end up with a bunch of seperate files......help?
