Help! iOS6 wiped out my apps, can't dwnld more

Help--I am traveling in the UK, using my iPhone 4S (unlocked) on a UK netowrk. Unitl yesterday all was well. Then I made the mistake of accepting the iOS6 update, and since then terrible terrible things have happened. All contacts and other data lost, but the immediate problem here is my banking apps. I had successfully used (since May) a number of iPhone apps---banking, radio, etc etc---but they vanished with OS6 and now when I try to reload them, or any other app for that matter, I get a message that says "you have to go to the USA store not the UK store for apps"---????
Any idea how I can go back to pre-yesterday? Or at least, get my apps back, or get new ones?

Actually, Hackintosh, I paid about $1000 to Apple for this officially unlocked phone, so that I could use it in the several countries my work is taking me to. No border violations whatsoever.
I simply need my apps. My banking apps. My NPR radio apps. My art history apps. My weather apps. and most of ALL my old MAP app!
So if you have a useful Hack, Hackintosh, please let us know.

The latest iTunes software wiped out my apps for my 2G iPod Touch by overwriting newer releases of the apps which are not compatible with iOS 4.2.1.  I tried to restore the iPod to an earlier version without success.  Is there any way to download older versions of my apps which are compatible with my older iPod?

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

  • Itunes on a new pc wiped out my apps.

I needed a PDF file off another pc.  Can you just drag and drop it to the ipad? Don't know if you can or how. So... I installed iTunes and connected the ipad, Authorized the computer and transferred purchases up so when I sycd it would not wipe out everything. So it syc'd the apps but wiped out most of my folders. Went back to my normals Pc. Spent two hours dragging apps around and recreating folder structure. Went to sync and got the message could not identify the ipad. Then it wiped out all my apps. Looked for a backup file to restore from but that could not be found even though I see messages that this thing is backing up all the time.
Anybody got any ideas how I get out of this mess and why Apple thinkds this is an acceptable way to manage a device. All I really wanted to do is move one PDF file to my iPad so I could read it in good reader but no I need to mess with the godawful iTunes. Right now I am down about 2 hours of work and 200+ apps.
    This stinks.
    Thanks Apple.

If you sync with iTunes, yes there is a backup out there. I'm sure that you see the backup taking in place in the progress bar at the top of the iTunes window when the iPad is syncing.
Connect the iPad to the computer that you sync with, launch iTunes, and right click on the iPad name under the devices heading and select Restore from Backup from the contextual menu. A window will pop up with a drop down menu that will let you select any backup that you have in iTunes. If the backup that you are looking for is not in there - don't restore - just cancel the process and eject the iPad. If the backup is there, then restore from it.
However, the backup only contains device settings, your app data and settings, Safari History, Notes, Calendar Entries, mail accounts, your camera roll photos and videos, your home screen layout - and yes  - it should also contain your folder structure ...and other things that you can read about here.

You still have to sync your media back to the iPad after you restore from the backup because those things are not contained in the backup - but are stored in iTunes instead. Apps, movies, music, books, photos, TV Shows, and so on.
If the apps are not in your iTunes library due to the fact that the iPad was erased when you synced with a second computer, they can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with. Read this for more information on downloading past purchases.

A very simple way to retrieve a PDF file from another computer would be to email it to yourself on the iPad. No need to connect the iPad and drag and drop a PDF from a second computer.

  • Need urgent help: OS wiped out

I accidentally wiped out my OS while doing an assignment trying to install an OS to my UBS drive. I followed some guide online and now my OS is wiped along with thousands dollars worth of softwares. Not to mention ton of work iam currently doing for client.
Is there anyway I can recover that?
    Thanks

If you didn't make a backup of your Windows environment on extermal media, you have no realistic hope of recovering anything after doing an initial install of a completely new OS on your system

I have been doing regular backups to iCloud, and all app data is supposed to be stored there, but I don't know how to get the data back? Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix this?

This isn't an itunes app. I thought this was the icloud discussion group.

what do you think of this...
The FCC orders Verizon Wireless to pay
$1.25 million as settlement to the Treasury. This is just a parcel of the
    carrier’s $6.9 billion
    revenue
it has gained from the mobile market in the second quarter of this year. The
company is also ordered to notify Google that the objection to the tethering
apps from the Play Store is now off. This means that when new tethering apps
become available in the app store, everyone would be able to download and use
them without additional fees even if they are Verizon
    customers.
Verizon will, of course, continue to
charge its customers with their overall data use every month so for those who
have capped data will not be able to enjoy tethering functionality but the ones
with unlimited data plans are the luckiest. The FCC’s ruling made everybody a
winner; consumers under the network would be able to share their connection, app
developers don’t fear of being blocked when releasing tethering apps, and
Verizon can attract more customers to subscribe to their unlimited
    plan.

  • Please help me figure out if I can return

On the 5th, I bought my MacBook Pro. I really like it except that it's a 1.83 instead of 2.0 which is now the standard for MacBook Pros, and on top of that it makes the exremely annoying whining sound. I called the apple store (in Kansas City) were I purchased the MBP, and they said I could return it since it was still within 2 weeks, but I would have to pay a 10% restocking fee, which would be like $200.
Is there any way I could return mine for the new one, without paying the fee?
Thank you so much for any help

no, theres now way unless you can try to convince them to oversee the restocking fee. they have a 10day grace period for price drop refunds (which they aren't required to), 14 no restocking for returns, adn 30day to return after first 14, you pay the restocking fee. it may seem unfair for some who recently purchased a mbp 1.83..
everyone seems to be complaining about hwo apple upped the product. they did, no one can deny it. it ***** for many who have purchased 2 or so weeks ago, or even 2 days ago. however that's life - technology advances, prices drop, things get replaced. AN example would be buy a cellphone, next week it gets replaces with a newer model (ie: razr and the razr v3 when it came out). It's a simple case of 'wait and better will come'... and yes, i understand how the products are only a few months old until they were discontinued :/
however you could ask if they will repair the whineing mbp. if they agree you willend up with a 2.0 most likely as they change the logic board to a rev d.
    just my 2cents.
best of luck! let us know how it goes!

  • My IPod Touch 4th gen won't charge unless its off when it's on it won't even recognize the charger or indicate it's charging please help me figure out so I can charge and use it at the same time

    Help would be appreciated

The charger yo are using does not supply enough power to both charge the iPod and power a working iPod at the same times.
Not the wall you plug the wall charger into if you are using a wall charger.
Have you tried another charging source?
I would also try another cable.
    Further
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
