i have a 4s. i bought it. its icloud locked. then i called my seller. he gave me a account. and i tried it. and then it says to reset account with its email. i dont know that. and when i call back my seller he is not answering and now he blocked me. please someone help me. im going to loose my money

The seller doesn't have to give you any information. They can remove it from their iCloud account remotely.
If they cannot or will not do so, then get your money back. If they refuse, contact a lawyer or law enforcement. Anyone refusing to remove an iPhone from Activation Lock after they sold it to you was most likely not the legal owner of the device, which then means you are not the legal owner of the device.

I read that several other people have been bothered by a drop down message talking about a bad certificate and perhaps non secure site when working in Safari. I, too, keeping getting this pop up when in Safari that is from "tap-security.rubicon.... I saw the suggestion to turn off all extensions, but this didn't help. What next can be done?

Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.

Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

For some reason I tried to open Iphoto and it keeps giving me an error message that It can not open my current photo library.
It says "You can't open your current photo library using this version of Iphoto.

I tried updating the software and didn't do nothing for me.

Thanks.Ok, here is what I would do for that situation. I would back up all your photos on a memory stick, then create a new photo library and re-upload all the photos to the new library. If iphoto wont let you even copy your photos, you should just schedule an appointment at the genius bar. This has never happened to me, but if it did this is what I would be attempting.

My browsers (safari and Chrome) continue to open an old version of a website - even though I've cleared my browser history and cache. It's essential I see the newly launched site - rather than the old ones. It's strange it's happening in both browsers.
Please help!You, or someone using your computer, hacked the system to redirect certain URL's. The file modified is /etc/hosts.
The easiest way to fix the hosts file is to restore it from a backup that predates the modification, or to copy the unmodified file from another Mac. If you can't do that, then do as below. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data. This is a simple procedure, but if you don't follow the instructions exactly, you could be left with an unbootable system. In that case, you'll have to restore from a backup or reinstall OS X.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
open -a TextEdit /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:

Below that, you'll see some other lines. There should be nothing above the first line "##". If you have any doubt about that, STOP and ask for guidance. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the document. Scroll bars are hidden by default until you actually start scrolling, so you may not realize that you’re not seeing the whole document.
If the contents of the TextEdit window are as described, close it, then enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (by copy and paste):
sudo sed -i~ '11,$d' /etc/hosts
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Confirm. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Quit Terminal.
That will fix the hosts file. There is now a copy of the old hosts file with the name "hosts~" in the same folder as "hosts". You can delete the copy if you wish. Don't delete the file named "hosts". -

I'm behind on my payments due to being laid off, and would love to know what my options are. I've heard financial services can help, but what exactly can they do? Will they help me get my phone back on asap? I love Verizon and would appreciate any advice or help. I called the Customer Services twice, and was disconnected both times while being transferred. The rep was rude and grumpy and insisted on having me make mu past due amount, which I am unable to do. I can make partial payments but I don't think it'll reactivate my phone. You can call customer care at 1-800-922-0204 to schedule a "promise to pay" option with financial services. they will schedule payment options with you. You will need to be 12 days past due on your past due balance or have a "Y" indicator on your balance account information for them to set up payment plans for you.
If you are past due and services are disconnected:
You will have to pay the past due balance before the will establist a reconnect for you. You will have to pay a $15.00 reconnect fee per line, and proration charges for your services reconnected if it is within you 30 day billing cycle, plus a one month in advance charge on your month price plan and any features you have on the line(s).
then, you will be able to schedule a promise to pay arrangment on your current charges with online services in your view bill link or the *611 automated system to schedule a electronic withdrawn payment 7 days in advance with a checking acount or credit/debit card. make sure to have an account credit card or checking account saved on file in your account so you will not have to input all the numbers on the account information. it will make it easier for the system and faster to process the scheduled payment. -

Sounds like a 'stuck' Shift key. You could try to take the key off and put it back on yourself (should be some info on that from ifixit) or just take it to your local Apple Store and have them fix it.

My MacBook Pro is running very hot after lion install. Are there any hardware changes that will help? What can I do to get it back to normal?
I get the impression that most of the users on older hardware experiences similar temperature issues on Lion for a long time now. Awaiting for confirmation from the original poster.
In the meantime I'm just cautious with regards to pushing the machine to such extreme temps, since something tells me such behaviour which includes monitor flickering and the likes is nothing but abnormal for any type of use...
Any clues if 10.7.5 does anything on this? If not I'm afraid i see myself going back to SL for good... -

Was it purchased from an official Apple Store, not a reseller? Only Apple Stores sell official factory unlocked phones. The others sell hacked to unlock phones, and the unlocking is unstable.
Try these steps, as needed:
1. Reset phone - press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
3. Replace SIM card (and reset network settings again)
4. Restore Phone in iTunes using a backup
5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup -

All I can say is that I REALLY like my Touch 4th gen because I have all sorts of capabilities in a small form: e-mail, web browsing, news, weather, books, magazines, etc. etc. Plus lots and lots of apps out there, including so many free ones. I use the Cloud a lot so it's great to have everything sync'd to my MacBookPro (e-mail, Evernote, Pocket, etc.)
It would be easier, though, to do some of this, especially magazines, on the iPad mini, but, again, I love the small size of the Touch.
As for the 5th gen instead of the 4th, the fifth has Siri and the 3D feature in maps, which are great. And I'm sure it's a lot faster in iOS 6 than the 4th gen. And cool colors!

Are you aware that if you restore your ipad that you will lose all data from your ipad and very difficult to get it back unless you had previously made a back-up of your data on itunes or in the cloud. and that would be on the computer you set those up on. (There are some independent apps out there that might help restore data but I don't have any experience with them...)
Also, I think if you restore on another computer you're supposed to have administrator rights and have the latest itunes update. And I think if you sync (if restoring is considered syncing with another computer, you'll be locked out of your computer or a new one.)
I don't know if there is a way for you to safely eject your ipad from your mom's laptop and find another way, but please read this

My mac doesnt start. All i get is the gray screen with the apple and the loading icon but nothing more happens. I tried to start it in safe mode but it doesnt help. What can i do?
If you have a external USB enclosure - trying installing your hard drive in that enclosure and connect it to your usb port - restart your macbook while holding down the options key. If you Macbook boots to your desktop then you have a faulty cable. If you get the same error, then your hard drive just died on you.
