Help. On Demand constantly pausing.

Whether I try to watch anything on Demand it is constantly pausing.
It is worst then streaming off the internet - I am constantly having to hit the pause button in order to allow it time to 'buffer' and then still it cuts off and pauses on me.
How can I rectify this?

Can anyone help with this - so far its taken  me 45 minutes to watch 7 minutes of a programme?
Thanks

    Hi Ryan,
I managed to find this reference specifically for restoring on Snow Leopard:
If you are using Mac OS X Snow Leopard, start your computer from the installation disc. Then use the "Restore From Time Machine Backup" utility.
Now that was copied from this more comprehensive reference:
Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac

Finally, I cannot see why Time Machine would leave out your playlists and ratings? Think about it. Why would Time Machine specifically copy everything BUT your playlists and ratings? Ryan, what are your options? I would have to ask you this: Are you certain that you properly did the sync? That is another/different forum altogether: Using iPhone /see subsection on Syncing.
    Either way...
    Best Regards,

EDIT: For whatever reason I tried three times to edit out one of the redundent adjectives... either different or another which preceeds the word forum, but the advanced editor would (apparently NOT allow me to do so). I hope that it doesn't render without any adjective before the word forum.

  • InDesign CS3 Help Menu opens constantly

The InDesign CS3 Help Menu opens constantly every time I click anywhere in a document to do anything.
Such as draw a box, insert type, anything. It virtually renders the program unuseable. I click to make an addition to a doc, travel up to the help menu to close it, do my thing, then repeat for the next action. Reinstalling has not stopped this. I cannot disable the Help Menu (which would be a fine solution BTW). I cannot afford to upgrade to CS4 right now. I am not sure that would stop it anyway. Photoshop, Illustrator, no other program in the CS3 suite exhibits this behavior. Anybody got any ideas? I recently recreated my whole OS and all programs on a new hard drive out of necessity. InDesign was doing this before that rebuild, and it does it now (after the reinstall). CS3 was reinstalled clean. That did solve a serial # issue with Acrobat where it wouldn't launch. I didn't transfer anything from the old hard drive except e-mail and internet settings.

Are you using the default keyboard shortcut set or a custom one? Also, are you using any special mouse, keyboard or tablet input devices?
Try going to Edit->Keyboard Shortcuts->Help menu Product Area and see what the default Help shortcut is. Perhaps it has been set to something crazy like "mouse click". You may just set the Keyboard Shortcuts back to [Default] set and see if that does the trick too.
Alternatively, something either software or hardware related in your setup is frequently triggering that event, which may be the case if you have a non-apple kbd, mouse etc installed.

  • Airplay constantly pauses with 1 movie only

    Hi,
I have been using the apple tv for a while, with everything largely fine.   However recently I downloaded the movie "wizard of oz" and when I play this the apple tv constantly pauses (ie every 10 -30 seconds).  Nothing like this happens with any other streaming.
Any ideas how to fix this?

The iPad doesn't actually need to have the movie on it, all it's doing is getting the Apple TV to download it from the Internet, which you can get the Apple TV to do directly.
The odd thing seems to be that the Apple TV can download from the Internet without a problem, but not from your computer, the inference being that you have a problem with your network between the computer and Apple TV or a problem on the computer itself.
Have you tried restarting your router and trying again.

  • Why do all videos I try to watch constantly pause??

Why do all videos I watch constantly pause??

    Bonnie-
Frequent pauses might be explained by a slow Internet connection.  If you see a dual progress bar, one is for viewing and the other is for downloading.  When viewing catches up to downloading, a pause occurs until more data is downloaded.
To eliminate the pauses, stop the video and wait for it to completely download.

i recently purchased itunes match and it always pauses on my iphone 5 when i try to listen to my library    help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi mdr1976,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can use iTunes Match to access your entire iTunes library on your computer and iOS devices.
You can access your iTunes library on your Apple TV using Home Sharing, which is why it only works when your MacBook is turned on.

  • IPod constantly pauses during use

very frustrating. it pauses constantly. i am not touching it and it pauses. i put it on hold while playing and it pauses. it's only two months old. i am using the headphones that it came with. they work fine. HELP!!!

This is apparently a very common problem -- stalling, freezing, etc. Mine started doing this several months ago, and it has continued to deteriorate. It would stall for no reason, freeze, wouldn't turn off, wouldn't turn on. Sometimes I would plug it in and it would look okay, then begin to freeze up again, sometimes for a short time, sometimes for a long time. Finally, I tried resetting, and sometimes it helped but sometimes not. The problem continued to get worse. (If you look around the discussions, you will see it has happened to a lot of people -- I hope the Apple "people" keep tabs on what's going on). It has been extremely frustrating to me -- I have had my iPod for less than a year. Tonight I tried using the "restore" though I really hated to do it. It was much faster and easier than I thought, and I was able to reload everything from my library surprisingly quickly. AND it seems to be working okay now, but since the problem is so intermittent -- time will tell.

  • Song constantly pauses - why?

I have an 80G classic ipod which is awesome. I cannot use the supplied earphones because they just do not sit in my ear. So I used an old pair of headphones.
Recently on my long commute to work, I press play, flip the LOCK button and places the ipod in my pocket and seconds later it pauses. So I had to press play again, this happened more often, so I thought it was my old headphones. I bought a pair of new very expensive headphones, but this problem continues.
I did the 5 step reboot - but still problem exists.
    Can anyone help? Any suggestions??

This happens with every song?  Does the music stop when the display turns off?

  • HELP! iPod Shuffle Pauses for no reason!

Ive had my iPod shuffle around 6 months and around a week ago it randomly started pausing frequently half way through songs without my command. It just suddenly has outbursts of pausing and keeps pausing and as soon as I press play it pauses again until finally i give up and switch it off.
Ive tried updating it and charging it fully but no luck.
Anyone know whats wrong? Is the battery dying?
    Please Help.
    iPod Shuffle

It might be a dirty headphone socket. The iPod shuffle will enter pause if it detects that the headphone plug has been removed and I suspect that if the contacts becomes defective or dirty it could cause symptoms like you describe.
I'd try a series of rapid insertions and removals of the headphone plug to see if that might clean the switch or contacts. Also, I'm pretty certain that earlier versions of the shuffle firmware didn't have this headphone auto pause feature so if you could find a copy of the old firmware that might fix your problem.

  • Help with a simple pause-code function

For a week I've been trying to figure out a simple pause-code
function fror AS 3.0. I need something that pauses AS code for set
amounts of time. People have tried to help me on this forum, but
I've still not been able to make the code work.
Here is what I have at the moment for pause-code (not
    working):
    var intID;
    intID = setInterval(delay, 3000); //this tells flash to wait
    3 seconds
    function delay(){
    clearInterval(intID);
_root.gotoAndPlay(1); // or do something else...
The person who supplied me with this code did not include the
first line "var intID", but as a new flash user, I wasn't sure how
else to declare intID. Could someone with some flash experience
walk me through the steps of creating a pause-code function or add
to the one I have already provided. When I use the above code in my
flash document, the pause feature does not work at all. It
essentially skips over the setInterval and clearInterval functions
and plays the root clip in delay(). I need code meant for AS 3.0
and I'm becoming increasingly desperate for a response.
I hope this is understandable and thank you for taking a
    look,
    Sam

    Hello KGlad,
Thankyou for that information. I had no idea lol. Could you
please clarify and explain a little more about using the timer
class to delay execution of code? Possibly provide an example? I
    would be very grateful.
    Thanks,
    Sam

  • Xperia T3 Android 4.4.4 Music constantly pauses by itself

I have had this phone for about 6 months and love it, however lately whenever i listen to music, with the sony music app (formally walkman), it gets through one song then exactly2 seconds into the next song it pauses.  I want to do a factory reset but i would like to avoid that till i see if there is another solution.  Ive been mowing the lawn and having to take the phone out of my pocket to unpause it every 5 minutes is getting very annoying.  Thanks in advance for any help.

  • BUG:  Help (F1) dialog constantly pops up in dialogs

Every time I go to use Photoshop CS3 Extended (and I've heard this problem also exists in CS4), the Help (F1) dialog inevitably pops up repeatedly over and over again.  I searched Google and came up with "out of memory" as the "cause" - I checked Task Manager and, out of 4GB RAM, only 800MB in use.  Actually, I also have Visual Studio 2008 installed and about half the time, the VS debugger wanted to hook into CS3 - in other words, Photoshop is crashing but instead of completely bailing, it fires up the Help dialog.  Only by rapidly clicking the close button on the help dialog and then immediately pressing ESC do I manage to get out of this infinite loop.  The main dialog that I've encountered this problem within is the styles dialog for a layer.  Seriously annoying BUG because it happens every single time.  And don't try to tell me it isn't.  I know crappy programming when I see it and this is crappy programming.  Especially since I paid $$$ for this product.
I have all the latest updates installed according to the software.  Running this on Windows XP SP3, fully patched, all drivers updated.  I seem to recall this product supposedly recently started using the GPU for rendering layers and I also know that the latest Adobe Premiere Elements has issues with NVidia + Asus or something like that (I have an ATI Radeon HD 4870 card on a Gigabyte board - custom-built machine, no overclocking).  This is also a relatively new XP install and CS3 Extended has only been used a few dozen times.  I'm pretty sure I ran into the issue on my first use even.  So wiping the preferences isn't going to do a single bit of good (that seems to be the recommended course of action around here).  I also had the same issue on my older computer (same software) but I chalked it up to it just being a six year old installation of Windows XP.

What version number is reported in Help >About...  ?

Not true – the preference files can be corrupted at any time; even before the program is used.
And a re-install will not affect these files, which are generated independently in another location.
Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended 10.0.1.  Using the "Help -> Updates..." feature says there are no updates.  Checking the Adobe site:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=39&platform=Windows
Also confirms I have the latest CS3 build.
For your second response:  Then that is a bug too.  There is this little thing called a "Checksum" that has been around since, well, forever.  If the product is so shoddily written that it can blow up its own config at install, then, at the very least, automatically detect the broken config and repair or replace it.
