  • Getting Window help in Oracle Applications 11 and 11i.

    I installed Oracle 11 on Windows NT. I have few problems.
    1) I am not getting window help for every screen.
    2) I am not able to install client on other machines. I am getting the welcome screen.
    3) The output from requests is not coming in the HTML window ie., Internet Explorer. It is giving "file not found" error.
    Please help me out.

    If I understand your question correctly, you are talking about accessing the help that is already provided with Oracle Applications, correct? This discussion forum is intended for help authors and developers who are implementing help systems using Oracle Help for Java (OHJ) and Oracle Help for the Web (OHW). Perhaps one of the Oracle E-Business Suite forums would be more helpful for you. For example, you might want to try E-Business Suite > Administration > Managing Oracle Applications.

  • Help with Oracle Report Builder and SQL Server2000

    Hey guys,
    I just installed it Oracle Developer Suite10g with Report Builder and I am trying to use Report builder and wants to connect with SQL Server 2000. The problem that I am running in to is SQL Server 2000 i have is Window Authentication so Does not required to enter user name and password. So how can i connect my report builder to SQL server or is it possible to connect Report builder to SQL server?
    Also, I want to create small practice version of database in Oracle how do i do it? what i mean by that is I installed trial version or Oracle developer 10g from www.oracle.com and now trying to get some knowledge with oracle. Could any one can give me some direction in this matter please.

    Have a look at the reports help for the purpose header and trailer sections. Here is an exert:
    "Report sectioning enables you to define multiple layouts in the same report, each with a different target audience, output format, page layout, page size, or orientation. You can define up to three report sections, each with a body area and a margin area: the names of the sections are Header, Main, and Trailer. By default, a report is defined in the Main section. In the other sections, you can define different layouts, rather than creating multiple separate reports. If you wish, you can use the margin and body of the Header and Trailer sections to create a Header and Trailer page for your reports."

  • LESS Implementation and Usage in CQ5.5

    CQ 5.5 now supports LESS framework in ClientLibs.
    I couldn't find any documentation on how this is done in CQ 5.5. Do I still need to include less.js on the client side or is there a server side preprocessor in CQ 5.5?
    Anyone has any information it will be helpful.

    I too was able to return the .less file as .css file like you did with the clientLib folder setup. However, to have the preprocessing of the .less file, less.js is also required unless
    there is some server side preprocessing by CQ5.5 (my assumption).
    The clientLibrary method  returns <link type="text/css" href="<categoryname>.css" /> The linked file is not a compiled CSS file but contains the LESS syntax which is useless even with the less.js in the head. I only could get this to work by linking directly to the .less and javascipt file like so:
    <link rel="stylesheet/less" type="text/css" href="sitename.less" />
    <script href="/etc/designs/site/js/less.js"></script>
    I was looking for actual documentation on how this is implemented and working in CQ5.5

  • Help - 9.0 install failing and eating my hard drive / Premier missing

    I have windows 7 / 64 bit / home premium  - 3/0 Ghz / Quad core
    I posted earlier. I have tried several times to load 9.0. during my first unsuccessful install, the "creating catalog process" hung, and after I closed the program, my hard disk space decreased by 45 GB.
    I then uninstalled, shut down, cleared all temp files, defragged, optimized disk, and cleaned up registry. I then re-instelled and it hung on "Creating catalog" again. I figured I would let it go and see what happened. I returned 40 minutes later and it was nowhere. I cllicked and it said "not reposnding".
    Now - I check my hard drive , and it has decreased from an available 120 GB (before 1st install ) to now only 31.7 GB! I can not find where my hard drive is being conusmed.
    As a second step, I tried to load disk 1 and disk 2 on another computer. Elements installed ok, but on loading Disk 2, it gave me the same error as Pc #1 - It said Program is corrupt or not installed. Also note that Disk 1 does not install Premier elements on either computer - no where to be found. Isn't Disk 2 suppose to only be content.?
    I need help badly.

    Could I please request you to provide us following log files so that we can debug your issue:
    Location: Go to Start Menu-> Run->%temp%
    Files: Pre9.log, PRE9Installer.log.
    Yes, you are right that you need to install application(Disk 1) first before installing Content(Disk 2). So, insert Premiere Elements Disk1 and install application first. Once it is successful, then insert disk 2 to install Content.
    Please note that Content will not get installed unless application is installed.
    It would be great if you can provide screenshot of error messages that you are getting.

  • Help,  No Aperture Install disk and in field shooting.

    Help, I can not get my AP3.03 window to open and I need to use AP. I am in a Workshop in British Columbia far from Home(in Texas) and my Aperture Installation DVD.
    Does anyone have a suggestion on what to get Aperture to run. The Dock shows Ap running but there is no window for aperture. It was working last night but not this morning. The most recent activity is trying to Empty the Aperture Trash.

    Before you panic:
    1) Aperture is probably still installed. It's not the sort of thing that could be accidentally deleted or over-written without you realizing it.
    2) Another possibility is that your disk/filesystem is corrupt. You should run Disk Utility and have it do a "Verify Disk" (you can't do a "Repair Disk" on the disk you used to boot the machine -- you have to boot from an alternate disk or the install DVD to perform one of these) and see if indicates any errors in the filesystem. You should also do a "Repair Permissions". This normally finds a few problems and unless any of those problems have to do with Aperture they are not likely related to your problem.
    3) A more likely cause is that there's some corruption in one of the ".plist" files in your home folder. This is relatively easy to test. Create a new user account on the Mac. Try to start Aperture from that new account. If Aperture starts up, it proves the actually Aperture install is fine and the issue is something in your own home folder. USUALLY this would be in your ~/Library/Preferences folder. "com.apple.Aperture.plist" (and there may be two others with Aperture in the name) are good candidates. You can usually just drag them to a different location (no need to delete). Then start Aperture and see if it helped. Note that hiding the ".plist" file resets all your preferences (because they would have been in that .plist file) so you may need to go back through your prefs again.
    4) Lastly... if you really did manage to delete or damage your Aperture install, just download the Trial copy. It's the same program as the shrink-wrap version (the shrink-wrap version comes with a demo library of images which isn't included in the trial) but the actual program itself is the same. The license key is NOT contained inside the Aperture application... it's in a different directory and would not be over-written or deleted should you need to re-install.

    I wonder if you can help me, I am having some trouble dealing with Oracle objects in PL/SQL. I can declare them, populate them and read from them without any issues.
    But I am having some problems with trying to copy records in to other records of the same type, and also with updating existing records. I've made a mock up piece of code below to explain what I mean, it may have a few mistakes as I've written it in notepad but should be reasonably clear.
    First I have created a record type, which contains attributes relating to a person.....

    So I hope that you can see from this, I have two problems. The first is that I can store the current cursor record in a local record if I assign each attribute one at a time, but my real example has a large number of attributes. So why can't I just assign the entire cursor record to the local cursor record?
    I get a PL/SQL error "Expression is of wrong type" when I try to do this.
    The second question is with regards to the update statement, obviously this doesn't work, it expects a table name here instead. So can anyone show me how I should update existing person records in the incoming table type to the procedure?
    I hope this makes sense, but I don't think I have explained it very well!!

    I understand why you are having trouble - my own brain started to hurt looking at your questions :)
    First off, database types are not records. They can act like records but are "objects" with different characterstics.
    You can create a record in PL/SQL but the "type" is of RECORD. You created an OBJECT as BODY_PERSON_RECORD_TYPE.
    I don't use database types unless I really need them, such as for working with pipelined functions.

    local_person := select_person_rec; local_person is set to the (misnamed) BODY_PERSON_RECORD_TYPE, while SELECT_PERSON_REC is anchored to the cursor and is a RECORD of SELECT_PERSON%ROWTYPE with a field for each column selected in the query. Different types, not compatible.
    You should be able to manually assign the object items one by one as object.attribute := record.field one field at a time.

  • Help with firmware installing over and over

    i did the firmware update to 1.9 and now when i restart my computer or shut it down it reinstalls the firmware over and over and the system takes over 5mins to start up ..it has the apple logo and the lil round dot bars going and under that is this long progress bar like it's installing firmware. it dose this over and over and having to wait for over 5mins is way to long ...thx for any help

    It sounds like something in your firmware update may have become corrupted during the download, my recommendation would be re-download it and then re-install. This is assuming you have a mid 2010 15 or 17" MBP. If you don't have one of these machines you should haven't downloaded the update and that could be the reason for the issue. If you don't have a mid 2010 15 or 17" MBP or the re-download/re-installation fails take your MBP into an Apple Store or AASP and they can help you.

    I am use to Oracle 7. I just downloaded *i from internet. On Oracle 8i personnal where are the Designer and Developer? How do I get to them.
    Where do I get the password for SQL plus?
    I have installed and deinstalled this 4 times thinking it did not install right. Now when i install it still has the old database names in it. I click on database, it goes to does type screen flashes (if you look quickly) Run time error. Then comes up with a small window. ora 001034 or 001131? invalid password.
    I have uninstalled all products. I deleted Oracle directory and the old autoexec.bat. Did I for get anything? It said in install that there were 74 products. Is that the right amout for typical?

    up to my best knowledge personnal oracle 8i is having only database,like personnal oracle7 its not having application development tool's like developer/2000 with it.for getting forms,reports,menu's etc.you will be in need to install them separately.
    For getting password for sqlplus,two passwords for superuser are provided by default that is "system" having passwd "manager" and "sys".Same way there is one default user "scott" having passwd "tiger".If you will connect through "system" than you can create other user's by any name by command
    "create user xyz identified by passwd;"
    after that you can grant him previledges
    by command
    "grant connect,resources,dba to xyz"
    if you will grant dba to any user than he will also be having all right's of superuser
    like dba user "system".

  • Help, how to install jvm and set the classpath using a batch file

    hello,
    i have created my java application and now have to create an installable / batch file which will install the JVM on the users machine and also the java packages such as javamail and the class files that i have created . it also has to set the classpath.
    i would like to know if anyone can tell me how to go about iti.e. how can i install the JVM using a batch file and then place the javamial packages etc in the apropriate directory .
    or is it advisable to explain it to the user how to go about it in tht user manual.
    and would also like to know that if i install the JVM will the path for the java.exe be set
    or will i have to set the path explicitly from the "batch file" so that the user can run the application without and problem just by running the java command followed by filename from the command prompt.

    The only problem with the free edition is that you can only create 1 launcher and that during the installation you get 1 popup showing that the installer was created with an unregistered version.

  • Help with Oracle Entity Framework and synonyms

    Hi.
    I have some troubles using schemas and synonyms of tables. It means that we are working with diferent schemas, one of those is the owner of tables and other one use synonyms with permissions to access, modify and delete in these tables, this one is the schema that the application use. So whats the way to use this synonyms to tables using the application schema with Entity Framework?
    While I'm using the application data schema I couldn't get data from tables, because the application schema doesn't have tables just use synonyms to them.

    I have the same problem. I have created a data connection in the VS2010 server explorer to my oracle database. In the filter I have added the schemas that my user id has access to and the tables are shown in the server explorer. However, when I go through the ADO.NET entity wizard, the tables are not shown.

    Portal is installed as part of the 9iAS install.
    You can find the Installation Guide online at http://otn.oracle.com/products/ias/. Choose the Documentation tab. Select your platform (Solaris, NT, etc.), and click HTML or PDF and you'll have the docs you need for installing 9lAS and Portal with default configuration.
    For more info on custom configuring portal, go to http://technet.oracle.com/products/iportal/. There is a section on the page called Configure 9iAS Portal that has links to all the available configuration documentation.
