Help...overwrite...(sorry i am a newbie)

hi, i am a noob in java, and i have a question about overwriting in textfield, i am using netbeans 6.0, and i would like everytime i press tab to change the focus of the cursor on textfield, it highlights all the characters in chosen textfield... is there an easy way such as changin the property of the textfield in netbeans, or do i have to use coding instead... thx m8s..

Sorry... Newbie need help... Win XP Javac not working

Hello....I am pretty new at Java programming, and from wut I have heard...I can run Java applications out of Dos... I learn the codes are Javac and appletviewer. but it doesnt seem to work with win XP professional.... it said that the codes are not internal or external command or something like that....can someone please show me the right way...thanks

I'm assuming you put the path in the Environmental Variables on the Advanced tab in the System settings. You need to put in the path to java bin folder. Make sure you put the right path in - for example on my XP the path I added is c:\j2sdk1.4.0\bin
You can do a search for a file named javac.exe if you aren't sure where it is installed. Also, reboot after setting.

3 weeks and still no help. sorry to vent but very dissappointed with ITUNE

I have tried everything. from reinstalling and about 8 emails to service and it seems everytime I get somebody else answering me back with the wrong info as if I had told them a different story of my issue. I know some of you have tried to help me too. I thank you for that. Today I asked them to delete my account completely so I can just try to set up a new one.
My problem was, Everytime I try to change my address it WILL NOT SAVE. I have tried everything that Everyone has told me from links to rebooting and trying to everything itunes staff has tried. I even BEGGED them to call me on the phone. It has been over 3 weeks now and I cannot buy music as it will not let me save my info change. The odd thing is , I never changed it to begin with. For some reason it went back to my old address. I am so irritated as I just want to buy some tunes. Sorry to vent, just extremely dissappointed with the service. 1billion songs sold and no fricking phone number to call. Just emails that take DAYS to hear back.. Sony connect, Napster? anyone wanna buy 3 ipods?
And yes I checked with all of my credit cards. they are fine.

I read your submission with some interest. I don't know for sure but I believe your problem is somewhere within your own pc. I had similar problems some months back with unsolicited changes which drove me crazy. I finally re-formated and reinstalled everything...no more problems.
Your comments reference Apple support really interested me. I thought it was just me and my lack of patience. It's obviously not.
Companies such as Apple are divisionalised in every aspect of their operations. R & D, Design, Production, Marketing are all cutting edge performance operations. Support, which I'm sure will be fractionalised down even further as it spreads across the globe is another issue completely.
It's simply appalling. The lack of customer service, technical know-how and frankly, interest, in customer problems is beyond belief.
I recently purchased a new PowerBook 15G4 directly from Apple Store on-line in the UK. I won't go into detail but it was sheer mayhem from beginning to end. The pre-sales (marketing) was fine but from there onwards I received service I wouldn't have believed possible from a viable and progressive organisation. It was call-centre service from Ireland that ensued at this juncture and if I was to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 it would have scored 0. It cost me additional money at the end of the day, lots of it!
My latest Apple disappointment is the recent purchase of a new iPod Video 30Gb here in Spain where I live. Nice product that attracted me (already have a mini iPod 4Gb) because of it's ability to play music video's which I love. Problem now is I find my Spanish Itunes Store doesn't sell video's! That's where my account is because of the criteria of creating an account subject to home address & credit card address so I can't switch to another store, such as the UK one, to purchase anything. So, I have a brand new video iPod I can't use for anything more than the audio I already had on my iPod Mini! Apple are happy to market and sell the basic product in certain countries but fail to mention the inability to provide you with the video content you require to utilise it fully.
I'm not the constantly whinging variety, I don't have the time or the inclination, but I can only say to Apple....this just isn't good enough and eventually you'll realise it yourself. Problems are never overly apparent when business is booming but the time will come when service like this becomes a major player in the success or otherwise of the operation. I'm a very disallusioned Apple customer!

Hey Guys ! First of all, I'm new to the community and looking forward to be as active as possible to help people and get help from professionals ! (And sorry for my bad english tho :/..)
So here's the problem ...... I bought a blackbery Curve 9300 today, and what happens, is when I try to update it, it gave me at first, error 507 (Which means there's no OS in the device I suppose) ... when I tried to update it again, it gets stuck on ''Reconnecting to JVN'' or ''JVM'' can't remember ..... ive been trying to find a solution for hours and stil no luck .... i tried pulling the battery out and putting it back in, but doesnt work ..... a pop up message told me to go to control panel, check for USB Root hub and put a check mark on a certain option, but they were already checked ..... this situation is extremely frustrating because the guy from whom i bought the phone doesn't answer anymore, and I don't really want to take it to a store to repair it for like 60-80 $ or whatever ..... if possible, I'd like to get some help please !!!

Error code 507 comes when there is no OS installed in your device.
Try downloading appropriate OS and install it.

Video importing as audio only (Help a sad, poor, unfortunate, little newbie?)

Just downloaded Premier CS5.5. I'm a total newbie. I imported some photos and a little video (.mov) in the project panel. Unfortunately, it imported the video as audio only. It shows that it has frames and I can watch the video in windows media player just fine, but Premiere only brings it in as audio. When I used to use Premiere Elements, this worked just fine.
How do I bring this clip in and have Premiere recognize it as video with audio? WHAT DO I DO TO FIX IT?
Oh, and I know that .mov is just a wrapper and not the codec, but I just totally need help figuring out what to do. The video is from a Panasonic Lumix FH-20.
Just in case it makes a difference, I'm running CS5.5 on Windows 7 on a BLAZING FAST HP desktop.

Most "good" camera mfgrs. do include their version of the CODEC used. Now, that CODEC might be in a separate folder, requiring it to be installed on the system, might be part of the camera's driver, or might be installed, along with any utilities, etc. It just depends.
Many camera mfgrs. love to tweak the CODEC's, and often a standard, commercial version will not do what needs to be done - though often it will.
Glad that you found the Canon MJPEG CODEC, and that all is working now.

Plead for help! - Sorry about me and being computer challenged!

I am sure you get these types of posts often, and I sifted through a couple of topic pages to see if my question was among them, but didn't see anything. So, and sorry, and please bare with me here. Also, just a warning but I am kinda computer challenged grins High tech gagets are sometimes beyond me! sigh -and here I am with an ipod! LOL!
I have an IPOD mini, and have finally got everyone working on it except geting my ACTUAL music on there. Sounds dumb really but here is the kicker. I want (if it is possible) to transfer the music I have from Limewire, onto my IPOD mini(or at least the Ipod page that comes up so I can put it into my ipod from there) Now I have heard that it is possible, but I am not sure. And I have done all the help intructions, tutorials and such and still I am blank.
I would really appericate any help! Thank you!

Search help overwrite a read-only field

Hi, I have some problems with search help and hope someone can help me.
My search helps (either standards or customs) work perfectly, but a strange behaviour
occur on Read-Only fields. If I open the Search Help popup and select a value, it overwrite the
READ-ONLY value !!!!!
Hope you can help.

Depending on the support pack level you are on - search helps - freely programmed or otherwise don't seem to trigger off read only fields (I noticed this when we moved to NW7.01)
I've got around this by making the field a link to action - providing the read only link I want as the text, and then calling the following code:

      component_usage_name = 'JOB_SELECTION'
      context_attribute    = 'JOB'.
Where component 'JOB_SELECTION' is my freely programmed value help - implementing WD interface IWD_VALUE_HELP.
This was helpful as I wanted the search help to trigger and the user to be able to update the field but only by using the search help - I didn't want the user to be able to write anything in the field.
it was a particular use case I had - it may or may not fit your needs.

and I am pretty much an idiot when it comes to technology.
Here's what I am looking for. Hopefully, one of you kind souls who are far smarter than I am, can point me in the right direction.
I want an MP3 player for working out. I would really like it to be able to do the following:
-shuffle playlists I add in without always going through the same songs in the same order.
-be able to be used with an armband, or at the very least, a belt clip. (definitely prefer armband though)
-hold enough music to be able to get me through about 2 hours worth of working out.
-be able to withstand a fair amount of shock and wear and tear, as I also do martial arts training. (no, I am not going to try to cleave anyone with it)
One of the things I kept noticing when trying to read through specs, was the listed bit rates for songs in MP3 format. Virtually everything I have is at 320, but the highest I've seen listed is 28.
I'm assuming it will still work, but I wanted to make absolutely sure because I would get extremely frustrated to find out I had to redo a rather huge collection of music.
I was looking at Creative NOMAD? MuVo? 2 as a logical choice, but I wanted to see if I could get an expert opinion on what might be better. Is 52MB going to be enough machine for what I want, or do I need to look at something in the GB and up dept. Also, how much of a beating will it take? Is there a better choice, even if it costs more money?
Also, are the players that start at like 5GB pretty bulky? I would think they would be, which is a big cause for concern. I have enough trouble lifting my weights, without worrying about cramping up while trying to lug a piece of Samsonite filled with melodic electrons. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you're expecting the player to be bumped around I would strongly suggest you get a flash player. The largest you can get is Gb (I think either the MuVo N200 or V200), and you've already mentioned the MuVo? 52Mb player which is equally good. Not sure sure if the MuVo N200/V200 shuffle, but I'm sure the MuVo? does.
All Creative players will play 320 kbit/s, this is the highest rate you can encode at for MP3/WMA.

I've just ordered Logic Express, and it will be here, probably, by Monday. I currently use a Roland VS2000, and have found 12 tracks @ 24 bit a bit confining. My Indigo iMac recently died, and, as I couldn't bring myself to adapt to my wife's PC, I bought a new 2GHZ 17" Core 2 Duo, with 2 gigs RAM. I am loving this machine, but it then occurred to me that I could use it to expand, or even replace, my VS2000. I've done a little research, and am aware that I will need a good firewire audio interface (I am leaning toward the RME Fireface 400) and an external FW HDD. Always something more to buy....sigh....
A few weeks ago, I downloaded the Trial LE 7, and haven't really been able to do anything with it, except import other music files from my computer and play around with them a bit (I did enjoy reversing the envelope on The Beatles' 'And I Love Her'). I found getting LE to do what I wanted quite frustrating, for the most part, but I am willing to take the time to learn. So, this brings me to my questions:
1) I do not have an audio interface yet. Is it possible that, when Logic was setting up, that I didn't set something correctly? Because I assume that I could've input audio via the mic on the iMac, but I couldn't. I get the message that it is using the stock audio/MIDI set-up that comes with the iMac. Yet, no audio recorded. I know this question is a little confusing...
2) I recently bought a USB MIDI cable, and it works fine within Garageband, but not in Logic Express. Can anyone suggest a reason for this? Other than user ignorance, I mean....
3) When I tried to access Appleloops, I was told that LE Couldn't find any. They're there, I use them in Garageband. Is there any reason why LE can't find them?
4) Finally, it is going to be a little while before I can afford the RME Fireface, so I am wondering if I can just use the MIDI via the USB interface to slave to my VS, triggering sounds from my JV-1010 sound module. When I do get the Fireface, will it be easy enough to alter the settings for its optimal use?
I've been using all-in-one Roland boxes since '98, so I am pretty well completely lost when it comes to the ins and outs of computer-based recording. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

It took me a bit to figure out what to click on to
get at the audio instruments, and then, again, it
took me about another hour of puzzling and
hair-pulling to get the sampler-player working. It
would, indeed, be helpful, if there were Quickstart
pages with LE, and better ways of showing how to do
something. Obviously, I am not the first person to
make the mistake that the MIDI instruments are not
the same as the audio instruments, given Miehmann's
post, and the link that you cited.
nyways, the next step, I suppose, will be figuring a
way to get my JV-1010 sound module working within LE,
and then syncing LE to my VS.
So many of these issues would be solved if Apple would CHANGE THE DEFAULT SONG as it is confusing for almost every new user and external MIDI devices are not the norm any more.

a book, or take it into the 'reading room' when

The Sitter book comes with song files to mess with, which really helps.

My first podcast is up--I can access it through the link apple provided, plus if I search, but not through browsing. When will it show up? How does it get featured?
Also, mine is a video podcast. Not sure whether it's listed as a video podcast. I used feedforall to code the rss. How can I get it to differentiate and tell itunes it's a video podcast vs. an audio one?

IN the future, I'm planning on having a new vodcast every day, five times a week. If I keep the encoded video files in a folder (let's say, called rss), then all the <link> files can just be my url (which is my index.com) page, but each of the <enclosure> links will be a direct link to each of the videos in the rss folder? Is this correct?

I know this has probably been solved many times and is old hat to a lot of you. I am trying to create an applescript that forwards only the body of an e-mail to my cell phone triggered from a Mail rule. It runs fine in the editor but not as a Mail rule. I may even want to restrict it to the first 200 characters. I've read that maybe I have to set up a sub routine but I don't know how to do that. I've spent way too much time trying to figure out why it won't work. I'm old and don't like wasting my precious time (lol) Any help would be appreciated. Here's the script. You could just set up a Mail Rule to Forward incoming messages (however, the complete message will bb fwd, no way to limit to 200 characters.

Whoa. After looking at that I'm still confused.
We have a form on our system that can be called in 2 different ways. Calling the form normally and calling it in Query only mode depending on the user roles.
The form we are calling can then call about 10 other forms. However we want it so that one particular form can't be accessed in query only mode but can be accessed in normal mode.
I'm thinking about just setting a global when calling the main form depending on if it's in query only mode or not. Then checking the global when trying to call to subsequant form, if the global is set to "QUERY_ONLY" then give an error message telling the user is not allowed to view the form or running the form it the global is set to "NORMAL". But didn't know if there was a better way to do it or not.
