Help! P965 owner, something strange with cd's and dvd's

I have a Intel E6400 + MSI p965 Platinum, Hdd Seagate 7200.10 and an Asus 1608P3s dvd-rw. Everything goes all right, except when I try to play a cd or dvd. it doesn't matter if it is a movie/ or music cd/dvd, it runs so slowly that it's impossible to watch. There is also a metalic noise over the sound.
May it be the integrated sound card? I use the on board Realtek sound. May it be the IDE cable or ide connection? Is it the Asus dvd-rw broken? I don't know, all I know is it's impossible to watch a movie from a dvd because it's running too slow. The video card is a 7900, it's working properly. Anyone else experienced this? First I supposed it must be a driver incompatibility, so I uninstalled the Ace mega codecs pack, and Nero as well. No result. I uninstalled the optical dvd-rw, and installed it back. Same effect. I tried another ide cable for the Asus. No change. I don't know what is wrong, why I can't playback movies and music. I also checked in windows that every ide port is in udma mode, not pio.
I must add that if I use a dvd decrypter and copy the content of a dvd (music or film) on the hard drive, it runs ok from the hdd. The slowdown and the metalic noise appears only when I try to run it from the cd/dvd directly.

i have a cd with music from an album mix. because a cd lacks enough space to copy the entire album, i would like to burn it on a dvd, which has more than enough space.
do i simply copy the cd into windows media player's library, and then burn it from media player to a dvd?
or, is there a cd/dvd burner available from some manufacturers? i seem to recall roxio or nero as software that will give me what i want.
my lenovo x201 thinkpad rests on an ultrabase that has dvd/cd burners.
i am so confused.

Help! Something strange with iPhoto

There's something wrong with iPhoto. The toolbar's order is wrong! I mean it's the reverse.
The buttons which are used when editting (efects,exposure,strokes etc.) are on the right. But they are suppose to be on the left. It was normal when I first purchased but it has changed. I didn't do anything. I've checked Apple's website. The order is definitely wrong. It's not just the toolbar. You can see the other pictures on the left while you're looking at a picture. Now they're on the right side. It's hard to use it like that

You can rearrange the controls and thumbnail grid by holding down onto the heading of the grid and dragging it. For example, I tapped and hold down onto the headline "6 Photos" in the upper menu bar and simply dragged the grid to the left side of the screen. Moving the thumbnail grid will also rearrange the controls.

Something strange with google search..

Something strange has happened with google...it's stuck on permanent zoom or something, like I have accessibility enabled, but I don't, and it only happens with google, everything else is normal. It's really zoomed in and blurry. The text is also chunky and kind of difficult to read..like it's too big for the search bar, and the little symbol on the search button is like off to the side, it's just clearly messed up. I've never had this problem before and can't figure out for the life of me what's causing it. It goes away if I switch to classic mode from tablet, but Id always used tablet prior to this and it was fine. I'd really like to fix tablet mode so I can use it or find a way to permentalety switch to classic because starting out on tablet and having to switch every time is a pain. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I know of no way for the Google search to automatically go the to Classic site. Google directs the browser to mobile site because you are using a mobile device. You cannot control that in mobile browser like Safari. If you were using another web browser idenitifed as a desktop browser, you could set the page to Classic and it will stay there. I use iCab Mobile (I gave up Safari ages ago) and I indentify the browser as Fire Fox 4.0 for Mac and it always takes me to the Classic site.
One last time... this is where you are having this issue? Can you post a screen shot? Do you know how to do that? Hold down on the sleep button and then tap the home button and you will see the screen flash white and hear the camera shutter sound. That screen shot will be saved to the camera roll and it will be the last photo in the album.

Something strange with Weblogic domains

I've come across strange things when I created nearly a dozen (hell yeah :)) of different domains trying to resolve issue with managed servers and node manager.
So, to the point : does weblogic cache somewhere (or all servers store in one place) its configuration? does BAM do the same?
I created on one weblogic jms queue Queues/testQueue, and then in totally different weblogic in another domain i saw (while server starting) "

BAM is a component of SOA Suite so it's probably best to ask this question there.

WLS will keep a list of domains created with the config wizard in the node manager file like this:
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.domains
But I'm unaware of any other WLS configuration / files that would reference JMS information.
Perhaps it could be coming for the database schema underneath BAM?

WDS Set up - Help Needed! Airport Extreme with one Relay and one remote

Hi Guys,
I need a bit of help. I am feeling quite stupid and frustrated. I am having some difficulty with setting up a WDS network with:
Base station: Airport extreme (current version)
Relay: Airport Express (current version)
Remote: Airport Express (current version)
I start by cold resetting the three units. The Base station is connected via Ethernet. The setup I wish to get going is a simple base - relay - remote.
I go through the utility manager and set up the base station, first as "create a wireless network" enter the ISP details etc etc. Its green light. Everything is fine. Then manually configure the Base Station. Hold down option key hit Participate in a WDS. I then select main enter + and add the Mac Id's for the intended Relay unit and Remote Unit (12 character and numeric string). At this stage I am only adding the intended Relay unit and Remote units MAC number.
Question 1: Do I need to add the base unit's MAC number itself under: WDS Remotes? even I am setting it up as Main?
I am careful to note the security settings and the the Wireless Network name to match these in the relay and remote set up. Under the Wireless tab I leave the Radio Mode: as Automatic (802.11a/n - 802.11b/g/n). I make sure the base has "allow this network to be extended" ticked. Under Radio Channel selection I edit it to reference channel 1 for 2.4Ghz (5 Ghz leave as Auto). I am careful when setting up the Relay and remote to match the Radio Channel. (Although I tired many channels as I thought maybe interference was a factor and denying the fact its obviously my set up skills as a factor).
Question 2: Do you need to disable Guest networks? I would think it does not matter as I have tired turning it off and has not made any difference.
Under Access Control I leave as default, Not enabled.
Next I hit update and and error message comes up. WDS Error as it can not find other units. Ok fine as the relay and remote are not yet set up. So I ignore and can get to the stage where the base unit is working and green light with an internet connection.
I then proceed to set up the Relay unit. Doing the same steps as above with a couple of differences being I add the MAC numbers and select the WDS Mode (Relay for Relay and Remote for Remote. I add the Main base station (i.e Airpot Extreme MAC No.) when prompted and then + the Remotes MAC number. The same for the Remote except I only need to add the base station's main no.
Question 3. Do I need to add the Relay's own MAC number to its own setup? This seems doubtful as with the base station but tired with and without for good measure with no success.
The 2.4Ghz channels are all set to 1. Radio mode set to Auto. Although even when I try to manually set them to all identical it doesn't seem t help.
Then the problems begin. The base unit is Green and the Relay and Remote say they are not connected to the internet. I assume since I have not seen a WDS Error message then the units are set up correctly or as I ignored it on the base unit. But when click unignore the error seems to work itself out.
Question 4. I need help to understand why I have no internet. The remote / relay says something about no IP number and I don't really understand what I should do? Do I need to go back the Airport Utility Manager and start messing about with the TCP/IP, DHCP, NAT ? The base is set up PPPoE and the relay and remote are set to Bridge.
It is really puzzling me why the relay and remote flash amber with error messages related to the IP number? I have tried turning off the base station and router and then on again but no joy.
Can anyone please enlighten me or give me a few ideas? I am doing something very obviously stupid and I guess the fix is something simple that I have overlooked.

You'd never enter the MAC address of a unit into its own configuration, if that's what you mean. I also don't think that you'd need to enter the MAC address of the main into the remote and conversely.

Five things have to match in a WDS configuration: network name, encryption type, network password, band, and channel.

Cs5 help sign-in always fails with valid email and password

I also get a lot of (all?) errors during update of master collection cs5. when I look at the page describing the error, it's an upsell or saying that I am not qualified for it (was before).

copied my %APPDATA% to a backup drive (wanted to keep my settings, maybe it's a mistake with adobe?)
uninstalled cs5 with deactivate
wipe and reinstall of windows (format, but not on th edrive that most of adobe was on)
copied appdata on backup drive back to %appdata% (restore)
reinstalled adobe to same place on f: drive
went into dreamweaver or AE and did help, update. consistently fails.
AAM has full access through my antivirus firewall.
I am suspecting leftover files, or it's something in my %APPDATA%.
I have a backup of the adobe registry I can apply, but not sure this is a good idea.

I used to apply manual updates to get the updates, but I stopped that since that tends to break the update process (AAM).

How Do I Help Apple US & Apple Europe Stop Warring With Each Other And Fix The Problem They Created?
PROBLEM
Apple will not replace, as promised, the iPhone 5 (A1429 GSM model) that they gave me in London, UK, with an iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model).
BACKGROUND
My iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) was purchased this year in September on an existing Verizon Wireless (VZW) line using an upgrade. The purchase took place in California and the product was picked up using Apple Personal Pickup through the Cerritos Apple Retail Store. I will refer to this phone at my "original" phone.
The original phone was taken into the Apple Store Regent Street in London, England, UK on November 15, 2012. The reason for this visit was that my original phone's camera would not focus.
The Apple Store Regent Street verified there was a hardware problem but was unable to replace the part.
The Apple Store Regent Street had me call the US AppleCare. At first they denied support, but then a supervisor, name can be provided upon request, approved the replacement of my original phone with an iPhone 5 (A1429 GSM model) as a temporary solution until I got back in the US. And approved that the GSM model would be replaced with a CDMA model when I came back to the US. I will refer to the GSM model as the "replacement". They gave me the case number --------.
The Apple Store Regent Street gave me the replacement and took the original. The first replacement did not work for reasons I do not understand. They switched out the replacement several times until they got one that worked on the T-Mobile nano SIM card that I had purchased in England, UK. Please refer to the repair IDs below to track the progression of phones given to me at the Apple Store Regent Street:

The following case number was either created in the UK or France between November 15 to November 24. Case number -----------
On November 19, 2012, I went to France and purchased an Orange nano SIM card. The phone would not activate like the first two repair IDs above.
On November 24, 2012, I went to the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps. The Genius told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. They had me call the AppleCare UK.
My issue was escalated to a tier 2 UK AppleCare agent. His contact information can be provided upon request. He gave me the case number -----------.
The UK tier 2 agent became upset when he heard that I was calling from France and that the France Apple Store or France AppleCare were not helping me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault.
The UK tier 2 agent said he was working with engineers to resolve my problem and would call me back the next day on November 25, 2012.
While at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, a Genius switched the phone given to from repair ID ----------- with a new one that worked with the French nano SIM card.
Also, while at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps, I initiated a call with AppleCare US to get assistance because it seems that AppleCare UK was more upset that France was not addressing the issue rather than helping me. I have email correspondance with the AppleCare US representative.
A Genius at the Apple Store Les Quatre Temps switched the replacement with a new GSM model that worked on the French SIM card but would not work if restored, received a software update, or had the SIM card changed. This is the same temporary solution I received from the Apple Store Regent Street in the UK.
By this point, I had spent between 12-14 hours in Apple Store or on the phone with an AppleCare representative.
Upon arriving in the US, I went to my local Apple Store Brea Mall to have the replacement switched with a CDMA model. They could not support me. He told me that my CDMA phone should not have been replaced with a GSM model in the UK and that this was clearly Apple's fault. My instructions were to call AppleCare US again.
My call with AppleCare US was escalated to a Senior Advisor, name can be provided upon request, and they gave me the case number -----------. After being on the phone with him for over an hour, his instructions were to call the Apple Store Regent Street and tell them to review my latest notes. They were to process a refund for a full retail priced iPhone 5 64BG black onto my credit card so that I could use that money to buy a new iPhone 5 64GB black at the Apple Store Brea Mall to reoslve the problem.
The Apple Store Regent Street did not process my refund. He, name can be provided upon request, told me that the AppleCare US did not do a good job reviewing my case, that they were incapable of getting to the bottom of it like they were, and instructed me to call AppleCare US and tell them to review this case number and this repair id. I asked if he read the notes from the AppleCare US Senior Advisor and he would not confirm nor deny. When I offered to give him the case number he accepted but it seemed like would do no good. Our call was disconnected. When I tried calling back the stores automated system was turned on and I could not get back through.
Now I have the full retail price of an iPhone 5 64GB black CDMA on my credit card and Apple will not process the refund as they said they would.
I've, at this point, spent between 14-16 hours at Apple Stores or on the phone with AppleCare representatives, and still do not have the problem resolved.
SOLUTION
AppleCare US and AppleCare Europe need to resolve their internal family issues without further impacting their customers.
Apple is to process a refund to my credit card for the cost of a full retail priced iPhone 5 64GB black.
DESIRED OUTCOMES
I have an iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA model) that works in the US on VZW as it did before I received the replacement phone in the UK.
Apple covers the cost of the solution because I did not create the problem.
Apple resolves their internal issue without costing me more time, energy, or money.
This becomes a case study for AppleCare so that future customers are not impacted like I have been by their support system.
Does anyone have recommendations for me?

Perhaps someones knows how to further escalate the issue at Apple?

Camcorders with SDHC cards and DvD memory

My camcorder suffered an unfortunate accident two days ago and needs replacing.
If i buy a replacement camcorder with a SDHC memory card or a DvD will I be able to download to FCP and perform all the editing and associated functions in Color,Motion and shake etc?

Hi,
I suppose you were happy about the image results delivered by your camera (which is/was?).
FCP does not offer native AVCHD support yet (If FW connection is available you might Log&Transfer your AVCHD footage in FCP, depending on the camera model), but iMovie 8 in an intel machine can ingest AVCHD even through USB. Obviously you will have to convert your captured media into a suitable QT format to be edited in FCP and all that jazz!!
If you have to choose between SDHC and DVD I'd say you should go for SDHC. More storage space and more chances of getting those NLE software a wee more friendly.
BTW. Vegas 7 AND 8 offer good support for AVCHD.

Something strange with k9a

hello everyone,
Sometimes when starting my pc (from restart or cold start) maybe three out of ten times the keyboard wont work, its a standard microsoft ps/2 keyboard, I haven't got any suspend modes enabled so I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows how to fix it,
oh yeah os xp32, its bios 1.2 that came with the board haven't had any reason to update as all seems to be working well just this strange behaviour from the keyboard.

SOMETHING STRANGE WITH LAST YOUTUBE UPDATE

i had auto updates selected & got a notification of 2 updates. when i selected update i got a message that "properties of the app had changed & it would affect the sd card, wi-fi & a few others".
affecting the sd card by installing the update to the sd card & other items on card would be deleted.
youtube app showed aug 8th & i'm not sure if the notification was for something later.
anybody else see this?

Ok, I seem to be fixed now.
I had to do a new install (i opted for a clean install) and my imac wouldn't restart id just get a white screen. holding the power button to shutdown ant try to start up got it going but every time I restarted (not shut down then push the power button but restart as in update or just from the apple menu) it would stall at a white screen... I tried to reset the power management and permissions and the disk. also tried all extensions off. the strange thing was I could use the imac hard drive to boot up my macbook vis a firewire cable. I got the old firmware and set about putting the old firmware back on my imac.. now I have no sleep light and I didn't get the set o three tones and the firmware did not install... I couldn't get it to at all via the instructions here;

I just get one long tone and thats it it then starts up with no backdate taking place????
Anyway, it doesn't seem to matter it has fixed itself I have restarted the imac 6 times in a row and no stalling at the white screen... I hope it doesn't come back but if it does how will I reset the firmware to an older version when the instructions don't work??

Something Strange with Lens Corrections

I used lens correction on an virtual copy of a DNG image. The image is of a building and I used a slight negative rotation to correct the perspective. After editing the image in LR3, I exported it to PS CS5 with the LR edits. So far so good. After some minor edits in PS I saved the edited PSD file and it shows up in LR. Still good. The problem occurs when I make a virtual copy of the PSD file in LR. Everything looks the same EXCEPT the lens correction seemingly reverts back to the original raw file.The crop that was part of the original lens correction is retained, but not the rotation. What is even stranger, this anomaly becomes apparent as soon as the virtual copy is created in the Library Module, but if I go to the Develop Module with the PSD virtual copy and select the BEFORE & AFTER view, the correct lens angle appears in the BEFORE and the skewed angle for the AFTER. I have tried everything I can think of and cannot figure out if it is me or the program. Any ideas?

As I try to replicate the problem, it the "unstraightening" seems to occur when I do the export, with LR adjustments. It appears that PS CS5 is retaining some of the settings from LR3, but not all. The crop remains (which is why I thought the image was initially OK back in LR), but the Lens Correction is reset. I just did a search and found that other people have been experiencing similar problems LR3 edits not being retained after working through the external editor. The thread I found (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2891636) did say that manually saving the XMP file is a work around, which I will try when I have time later. Thanks for all your input yesterday! I will report on what I find out.

Like said above, this is nothing strange.
The key here is "as sysdba", that you request a database admin connection. If your os user is in the OSDBA group (e.g. dba) you will be let in. Read about admin authentication in the following documentation piece:

Something strange with interlacement.

I've reported strange issue since i've try to solve my slow rendering

On my iMac, when i export my project (FCPX 10.0.7) with Render Master file, the final files seems to be normal.
Opening the same project on my Mac Book Pro, also with FCPX 10.0.7 and choose Render Master File, there my video show me interlacement line in all movement scenes.
What would be the problem ?
The original footage was in HDV 1080i50 (25 Mb/s), PCM linéaire.
The background rendering was in Original/Optimal - best performance
Final File was in 1440x1080 Apple ProRes 422, Linear PCM, Timecode HD 1-1-1
The only difference between both rendering, i let once before do background rendering and the second one do it without that.

I have compressor, but not use it in those investigation. My first problem was the extremly long rendering time (maybe 72 hours for small video under 10 minutes). Since i choose Master file, i have a realy quicker export. and i could after that use Compressor for a 720p output.
Anyway i was suprised to have that interlacement image on my master file rendering.
and then i was anxious about how it will be viewed in a BluRay project.
I worked with 3 different camera. an Sony HD-1000 on HDV and Sony Z5 (HDV with CF-module) was the first one, and those one only do 1080 50i
The last one was a Sony VG20, it should be able to do 25p or 50p, but as i should mix sources, for now i recorded in 50i. That one was also special as it produce 50i video with a progressive captor as i've read.
Note : Certains caméscopes filment en 50i sans pour autant subir l'effet de peigne sur les mouvements rapides, pourquoi ? C'est le cas du Sony NEX-VG10 qui filme en 1080/50i, mais qui possède un capteur photo APS progressif. L'image est donc captée nativement en mode progressif puis entrelacée à la compression AVCHD.
Well i see that now exporting my files in 1440x1080 50p works well, "but" the HD image seems to be smooth.
