Help please! Problem accessing db connections from servlets
Hi all,
I am creating a web application using MVC architecture using jsp,servlets and beans.
I have created a login.jsp which accesses the LoginHandlerServlet.class.
in login.jsp there are two fields. One is username and one is password. When fields are filled and submitted it redirects it to LoginHandlerServlet. Now in the servlet it calls a passwordBean which in turn calls a connectionBean which gives the connection to passwordBean and passwordBean checks the username and password and returns the result to servlet.
Now when I run this application through tomcat. I am getting a error
Error : oracle:jdbc:Driver:OracleDriver
But when I append a main method in passwordBean which calls the corresponding method my driver gets initialised and I get the perfect output.
Please let me know what is wrong with this. Thanking you all in advance.
Regards,
Hi All,

I have a new Macbook pro and need to run some Windows software, it appears "Parallel" should work well from what I've have read. Will I have any issues or problems accessing and printing from various printers on my Windows 7 network within Parallel? Is Parallel in fact the best way to go?
First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long. -
The only contacts I now have are from my Exchange account. Any help please. I tried "Import from SIM" but as all my contacts were on MobileMe, they're all gone!!
that happens for people who used icloud for everything but contacts. When they updated and went through initial
set up, signing into cloud enabled everything including cloud for contacts. Since they had zero contacts in cloud, cloud cleaned out their contacts, but synced everything else that icloud has, like calendars, reminders etc. If those contacts were never backed up anywhere - they gone. If there is back up in cloud, it needs to be restored.
Contacts sync in the cloud need to be turned off, right after restore. -

HELP! Problem accessing usb hard drive on airport extreme
Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me.
I have a Macbook Pro (2009). Recently put on Lion and have had no problems until now. Last night, the computer could not see the USB HD that is plugged into our Airport Extreme that it was using for the time machine backups. HOWEVER, our Macbook (white 2007) which is also running Lion has no problems accessing the HD! The Airport is working fine as we can still access email, the internet and my NAS drive (D-link 323).
So, I went into the Airport utility and clicked on the Drive section... the drive is shown on the airport and the settings are all set for sharing (etc. etc.)... but in finder I cannot access any of the drives on the airport... I just get a "Connection Failed" and then a pop-up saying that there was an error connecting to the airport, check the address and if the problem persists check with the admin.
This is what I have done so far....
1. Rebooted the airport (using Airport utility)... didn't work.
2. Turned off the USB HD and turned it back on.... didn't work.
3. Verified and fixed the permissions on the macbook pro... didn't work.
4. Turned everything off and then restarted everything again... didn't work.
5. Compared all the settings on our macbook for the Airport extreeme (using the airport utility) and the macbook pro... everything was identical nothing needed to be changed.
6. Tried to connect to our macbook using the macbook pro... came up with a "Connection Failed"... HOWEVER I was able to share the screen?!?!?!?!?
7. I pinged the airport... no problems pining...its only has problems connecting to the drives on the airport.
The airport is shown under the "shared" section of finder along with my NAS dirve (D-link 323) and the macbook... I can access the D-link with no issues but nothing else.
Please help... this is very frustrating and It dosnt make sence as to why it can see the drive but wont let me access it.
Thanks!A little update... spoke to Apple Care... they said that this happens and then are aware that this happens, but had no answers how to fix.
Unfortunately not much help... anyone else have any information?

Https Connection from servlets using JSSE.
Hi all,
Although my question is the same as the QOW for this week, there is an error "unsupported keyword EMAIL" returned when i try to establish a https connection using servlet. The error log is as follow:

===================================
Does anyone know the meaning of this error?
I try to write a java application using the similar code and it totally works fine(i can connect to the server and obtain the page). Does JSSE support Java Servlet? Or this is the problem of tomcat server? FYI, I'm using
Tomcat 3.2.2
Java SDK 1.3
Many thanks!

}I was just having this issue, after months of error-free ssl behavior, on a new machine i was installing (Note: that I was running the IBM jdk1.3) It turns out that when I was editing the java.security file to know about JCE/JSSE providers i had the providers in the wrong order. The Error causing sequence was:
security.provider.1=com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider
security.provider.2=com.ibm.crypto.provider.IBMJCA
# Extra provider added ibm@33894
security.provider.3=com.ibm.crypto.provider.IBMJCE
# extra provider i added
security.provider.4=sun.security.provider.Sun
The issue disappeared when i changed the order to:
security.provider.1=sun.security.provider.Sun
security.provider.2=com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider
security.provider.3=com.ibm.crypto.provider.IBMJCA
# Extra provider added ibm@33894
security.provider.4=com.ibm.crypto.provider.IBMJCE
hope that helps!

Help please problem with export
I had some problems with safari on my imac (OS X) so I did some "repairs" I ended up deleting some keychains and I believe that is what cause the problem I'm having. However I don't know how to fix it.
When I try to export RAW images from my Lacie rugged external hard drive to the desktop into jpg I get this error...
"An internal error has occurred: ?:0: attempt to index field 'rootFile' (a nil value)"
I have a deadline very soon (in about an hour) and need help please.Fantastic, these things always happen at the most inconvenient time!!!
When you've got the job out of the way reboot the Mac and try the export to desktop again. If it is still broken then in Disk Utility run Repair Permissions on the Mac and La Cie.
Who do I send the bill to??? -
Help with Oracle 10g Client Connectivity from Linux to IBM SAN storage
Hello Oracle Experts,
This is my first post. My client is having oracle 10g database up and running in IBM SAN storage.
We have some NMS tools running in Red Hat Linux version 5. So, these tools require connectivity to Oracle database which is residing in SAN storage connected with the Fibre cables.
How do I establish the connectivity from Linux to SAN storage. If would be glad if you can explain me the steps and also if there is any pre-installation/post-installation, patches and procedures involved.
If it is IP based network we normally give the IP address of the host running the database server. I have no idea about SAN storage connected with Fibre cable.
Please guide me to establish the connectivity from linux 5 to SAN.
Thanks.

RaviShankar.user13153556 wrote:
Hi Rajesh,
Actually I will not be touching the Oracle instance SAN box directly. I will only access the database from another machine. I my case it is Linux box.
So, my question is how do you make the Oracle Client in Linux box to connect to Oracle instance running in another non ip based machine SAN storage.Install Oracle client on this Linux machine ..
Make sure you have network connectivity from linux machine to database server. You need to connect to server where db instance is running and you need not to bother about SAN storage.
make tns entry into client $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora file.
Use sqlplus to connect to database using client.

HTTPS connection from servlet to another webserver
Hi,
We want to make a https connection from a servlet in weblogic server to another
web server (not necessarily weblogic). We also need dual authentication. But whenever
we use URL.openConnection(), it always returns us weblogic's internal https and
SSL implementation. Since weblogic has no documentation about how to use these
internal classes, such as how to set trusted server certificate, and how to set
client certificate (servlet is a client of another web server). We want to use
jsse, after setting JSSE required system properties, I still get a weblogic's
httpsURLConnection. Can any of you tell me how to resolve this issue?
Thanks.
XinshiYeah, I'm using JSSE now. Here is what I did:
Security.addProvider(new com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provide());
Provider prov = new SimpleSecureProvider();
prov.setProperty("SecureRandom.efficient", "test.EfficientSecureRandom");
Security.insertProviderAt(prov, 1);
You don't really need the provider stuff to get the example working. I use it
to get around a quick in JSSE where the random number generator takes 15-30 seconds
to generate a random sequence at start up.
SimpleSecureProvider looks like this:
public class SimpleSecureProvider extends Provider
public SimpleSecureProvider()
super("SimpleSecureProvider-", 1.0, "Hack to enable more efficient random
seed generator");
test.EfficientSecureRandom is bascially an exact copy of Sun's SecureRandom.java
with the only difference that I used my own random number generator.
Anyway, rest of the code you need looks like this:
URL url= new URL("htps://someplace.com");
URLConnection sconnection = url.openConnection();
Do whatever.
I also stored jcert.jar, jnet.jar, jsse.jar in /usr/java/jdk1.3/lib/ext
I think that is everything.
I just noticed that service pack 9 has a security example that does not require
all these jsse hacks. I'm trying to get it to work, but not having much luck.
Anybody got this working right?

See if this works,
1. Add the 'j2ee.jar' to CALSSPATH in weblogic startup script.
2. Set the property SSLHandlerEnabled flase in config.xml
3. Add the following property permission to the
weblogic.policy' file under a 'grant' directive
for all codebases (bottom): 'permission java.security.AllPermission'
4. Use the following bit of source code to create an https connection:
import com.sun.net.ssl.*; ....
com.sun.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection connection;
System.setProperty ("java.protocol.handler.pkgs",
"com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol");
java.security.Security.addProvider(new
com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider() );
URL url = new URL( "https", hostname, query );

connection = (com.sun.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection )url.openConnection(

Having problems sharing internet Connection from Macbook to Vonage Adapter
Hello,
I just got my Vonage adaptor and I am trying to share the Internet connection from my Macbook Pro (10.7.3) to the Adaptor to use the Vonage service bc my router is downstairs.
I turned off my Firewall, hooked my Vonage adapter to the Macbook with the ethernet cable and then went to Sys Preferences > Sharing > Selected Internet Sharing > Share Connection from Wifi to computers using Ethernet, and it looks like everything is ok but when i try to use the phone which is connected to to Vonage Adapter, it says "Your Vonage device cannot connect to the internet, check to see if your high speed internet is down".
I went and looked at my Network preferences and it shows Ethernet connected which is the Vonage Adapter and gives the following:
IP Address: 169.254.163.167
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Is there something Im doing wrong? Ive seen on several forums that its possible to do but having bad luck. Any help is appreciated.All I know is that I got Ubuntu to share internet and offer IPs through DHCP by using Firestarter. I am very new to Solaris, however, and am looking forward to learning about it. I've just made it my regular desktop environment. Long as you can get Solaris to configure its network interface with DHCP after your Ubuntu is configured, you should be able to share to as many clients as you'd like. Fedora also works well for that, and in my opinion, it's a better Linux than Ubuntu, though Solaris remains a better Linux than Linux, right? Har.

Help - can't access one website from my Macs, but I can on my PCs
A couple of days ago, I stopped being able to access at least one specific website on my Mac.
It’s my own domain so I haven’t been banned or blocked.
Everyone else can access the site, so it’s not down.
I can access the site from the PCs in my house, so it’s not an ISP issue.
I cannot access it from FTP, Firefox, Safari, or anything else on my Mac, so it’s not a browser issue.
I can access every other site I’ve tried, so it’s not an internet issue.
I’ve repaired permissions. I’ve rebooted several times.
What gives? Any ideas?
I just tried it on my brother’s computers on the SAME network. His PC could access it but not his Mac. So it appears isolated to Macs on this network.
I'm baffled.Have tried everything: - all the suggestions on this page, and from this thread too: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=755113&tstart=135
Using Asante FriendlyNet ethernet hub
Neither a G4 desktop or an iBook can connect to these sites:
<mainstayfunds>
http://206.210.18.59/
http://206.210.28.59/
<newyorklife>
http://206.210.18.33/
http://206.210.28.33/
My ISP provided the DNS information to try (oh, yeah, the ISP can access all the sites)
These actions were unsuccesful:
Three browsers
Bypassed hub and connected Mac to cable modem directly
Disconnected power from cable modem 2 minutes
Norton Firewall disabled
Used different hub port
Restarted
Signed out
Deleted Safari plists
Emptied Safari cache.
Deleted Safari cache folder
Dragged InputManagers from their folders
Repaired permissions
No Network Proxies enabled
TCP/IP setting of the computer is set to DHCP - obtaining IP
address and DNS server IP address automatically
G4 1.0Ghz Mac OS X (10.4.9) Safari 1.3.2 (312.6)
