Help , recurring pages upon hitting a tab in many websites

For months (at least 2)when I go on MANY site and then hit a tab in that site ,it opens multiple pages till I shut my computor down with force quit...also the spin wheel thing is showing up now all the time and the computor has become slow last couple days...HELP!
Do I need to clean it all off and start over (never done it and don't know how, my hubby says he does it to his linux at least once a year and I have had this computor since mid 2010)??

Sounds like you clicked on something (or not) that then got installed and causing some of this.
adware malware, sometimes clicking is not what it looks like so better off using the keyboard to Quit or Close tabs and windows. http://www.thesafemac.com/tag/malware/

On your PC...
Connect the Device... open iTunes, click on the Device tab that appears in the Left side column of iTunes, Select your Device, the Summary Page should appear.

Firefox 12 is very slow to load pages and if two tabs are opening it lags.

Firefox 12 is very slow to load pages and if two tabs are opening it lags. I've tried everything (e.g virus, defrag, I've created a new profile in "run", etc). I've had my router/line etc all checked and after 2 weeks of cleaning/testing etc its all pointing to Firefox as the problem. Please help as it's driving me nuts.

I have the exact same problem.
Not only does it load pages very slowly, sometimes the page will stop for a good 45 seconds and stop loading, only to finish it much later.
Something is wrong with Firefox 12, it shouldn't be this slow.
How is that each version is progressively worse than the one before it?.
Stop releasing so many versions Mozilla, release one that works and build from there.

Hi, I use Crustal 11.0.
I have a cross Tab. I display the items on the left column and the months horizontally, the items are grouped by category field. The values are the sum of quantities are displayed for each month. Like this:

The problem, I want to add a page header for each page of the report.
When Crystal reports first displays my cross-tab in the designer, CR displays the cross tab in the Report header section. I d like to add text or image for each page and not only at the begining of my Cross-Tab.
If I just add an image or text at the top of the report designer, which is my report header, I get the image or text only on the begining of the 1st page of my report but never in the other following pages.
If I try to work around the problem and move the cross Tab to a group section instead, and then put the Image in the group header, I get what I want, but the problem is that:
The columns header: Jan, February....December are displayed for each group of my report and not only in the beginning of the report. I get something like this:

You see the months get duplicated. Any way, my real need is to add an image or text in the header of EACH page of a cross-Tab report.

Hi Divya,
you could do for example in the wdDoInit() of the view
wdContext.currentContextElement().setPicture("picture.gif");
Now you assign this context variable to the Tab using the Tab_header's imageSource-Property. When you click on its value column, you see a button with three dots on it. If you click on this button, you will get all context nodes and attributes for this View. Usable variables are clearly marked, you now choose the one named Picture or what ever name you prefer to use. But it must correspond to the one set in the wdDoInit.
I think setting a picture (not necessarily for the tab-page) is done in one of the excellent tutorials. If you are a newcomer I strongly recommend doing some of the tutorials. I have learned tremendously from them.

How to submit page by hitting "enter" in a text field - Solution

Hi,
I had this problem yesterday and thought it may come in handy for others who run into the same issue.
My page had 2 text fields. Upon hitting enter in either of the boxes I wanted the page to submit. When only 1 text field was present it worked, however once the second field was added this stopped working.
After reading a bit (http://ppewww.ph.gla.ac.uk/~flavell/www/formquestion.html) I fount that "When there is only one single-line text input field in a form, the user agent should accept Enter in that field as a request to submit the form.". This would explain why it worked with only 1 field, but not with 2.
After doing some testing I found that to make it work with 2 or more text fields, I needed to add a submit button. This is not the same as a button in APEX. In APEX "button" just has a onClick call to a submit function. You need a native HTML submit button.
In order to do that I created text field. Deleted the label, and set the static value to "Search" (this was for my search application). In the page attributes I added the following:

Note: I added extra spaces in the tags so they would display properly.
This function changes the button type to submit.
Now when I have 2 or more text forms it submits when I hit enter in either one.

Edit Live Page View in New Tab Grayed Out

I've been looking forward to use using Dreamweaver CS5 to edit dynamic sites. One of the things I thought would really save time was being able to navigate to a dynamic page in live view and then edit it, instead of using File/Open, but when I browse to a page, the Edit the Live View Page in a New Tab is Grayed Out. Any help?

According to your description, my understanding is that you needed to check out the document again when open a document which was checked out by yourself and received the error that the document was locked by yourself.
I tested the same scenario per your post, and I got the same results as you got.
I recommend to use the following method to call DispEX (utilizing open document add-on) which is directed to document relative URL instead of using the direct link:

Help on Page

I have created a User Guide using Framemaker. The user guide is converted through Distiller to a pdf w/ bookmarks and Destinations. We have an Application Context properties file. All of our users are able to go into our web application, go to the desired, tab or site and click Help on Page, and the user guide opens to the desired page. It works for every user except one. The user selects Help on Page and the user guide opens on the cover page. I know that it has to be something related to the user's particular profile, it is probably related to Internet Explorer, but all of the settings seem to be the same. I can't figure out why the Destinations are not working on her machine. I have been trying to do research. So far, nothing. Please help.

The plugin being invoked is Adobe PDF. It has some configuration options, but the options selected on the user's browsers are not different than mine. We had a different user log onto the machine, and she was able to use the Help on Page. However, she had trouble with it when she went back to her own machine. This is the craziest issue that I have seen in a while, and I can't seem to find much information about it on the internet.

Page headers in cross tab report

I have created addon in SAP B1 2007A PL 46. This includes crystal reports that use .net crystal runtimes.
One of the reports is crosstab report.
It is required that each result page of report display a header. When I set it in page header section, it comes up only on the last page.
Text in Report header comes up on the first page.
This cross tab report spans multiple pages horizontally.
Can anybody help me in this.

The page header in this multi page report would be acrossing all pages. You may edit it to across the whole range to duplicate the first page header manually. You may set up Preview Start Pages Start with - Fit Page under report option to set them up.

Certain Pages Open in New tab

I have developed a site in iWeb and now want to add some new pages to it. These pages are not links to another site but only to other pages on the current site.
My problem is, some of the pages just change in the current window of the browser and some open a new tab and then open. This causes a user to have 5 or 6 tabs open while staying on the same site.
I do have some links on the main menu bar that takes the user to a different site and I have those set up to open in a new window but that is not even an option on these pages as the menu button only points to a page on the existing site.
I have tried rebuilding the pages several times thinking there was a stray piece of code from another page but I can't find anything that might be causing this.
I haven't published the new pages yet so I can't direct you to the site to see the behavior but thought someone might have an idea why this is happening.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for your response. As it turns out, after I posted my question I did some additional trouble shooting and appear to have figured out the issue.
Some of the buttons on the menu bar used to point to other web site pages and in the Inspector, had been set to open that referred page in a new tab/window. I assumed that when I changed the link type from refer to a web page to Open one of my pages, that the Open in Another Window/Tab link would automatically be disabled since it only applied to the refer to a Web Page type. That is apparently not the case.
To resolve this issue I went back into the Inspector, changed the link type to refer to a Web Page, unchecked the open in a new window box (ever though there was no URL in the box), and then switch back to the Refer to one of my pages reference. With that change, the menu buttons now works correctly.

It's easy to add extra tabs to your set of home pages. You can use the Options dialog to make sure there is only one. These articles point the way:

Because the space is short, you may want to select the whole home page URL (Ctrl+A) and paste it into a document or into a larger textbox like the one I'm typing in now. You're looking for a vertical bar (|) that is followed by a second URL.
If it's not part of your home page setting, the most likely cause for this change is a bad add-on that rode along with some free software.
I suggest starting here:
Open Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. Click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
Then, in Firefox, open the Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible).
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that shut down the extra tab?

How to open sites in a new page instead of a tab?

I want to open sites in a new page instead of a tab!

I've seen that before, and unselected the first item, but it didn't help at all!
It still opens new tabs instead of a new window.

another page. when that page opens to the tab the page loads with
the tab being the first thign you see. i have a header and
navigation about it that cannot be seen every time this happens so
you have to scroll back up.
is there a way to force the page to render at the very top?

If you are linking to your page and using a anchor ( #tab2 )
in your URL, the browser will jump to that location, and will not
start at the top of the page (unless that anchor is at the top of
the page).
If you are doing that, then stop it and you'll stay at the
top of the page. You might be able to use a URL parameter and not
an anchor for that instead. Check out this page:

Also, if you return to the main level of the profile folder, you may find some sessionstore files. Copy those to the safe location as well.
Could you report back on what you found?
Note: If Windows hides the .js file extension from you, you can change a setting so that you can see all file extensions (this helps when renaming files). The kinds of files you may find among your sessionstore-backup files are:
