Help with connect Encore Library files

I have Encore CS4 and CS5, but when I open them there is nothing in the library and am unab
le to access Resource Central.  I see the Encore files under C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS4 .  Is there anyway to connect to it?
Thanks!

In that Path, do you have the files, sort of like this:
Note: that folder structure is for Adobe EncoreDVD 2.0, plus I have an extra folder, or two, but yours should look very similar. That would mean that the installation of the content is good.
Seems that there was a fairly recent thread about Library Content not showing, but cannot recall the details, or the solution right now. I'll see if I can locate that, to refresh my memory.
Good luck,
Hunt

    Hi,
Has anyone else had this problem?  And how do I correct it?  "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-54)"

    adamwineguy wrote:
I was having this issue as well, after doing two things: updating iTunes yesterday, and installing and running ClamXav, a Mac antivirus tool.
I have now fixed the issue, first I made sure that I had the proper permissions for iTunes and it's library folders. Then I completely removed ClamXav and all its related files and restarted iTunes.  Now I no longer get this error when adding new media to iTunes or updating apps, and the library file saves fine.  For some reason I think it was related to the antivirus software.
I think it was a coincidence as ClamXav only modifies permissions on the files it installs and none of those are anywhere near your iTunes folders, but I'm glad you got it working.

When I create a dvd insert or cd label etc using Nero the file extension is nct - nero cover template.  The printer wants the file as a pdf as he can't open Nero files.  I have version 9.3 of acrobat.

Nero is simply a CD/DVD burning application and should have no effect on the type of files that will eventually be on the CD/DVD.
What type of files are you trying to convert and exactly how are you trying to convert them? Plus, it would help to know the version of Acrobat you are using.

  • Need help with connecting file inputs to arrays

In this assignment I have a program that will do the following: display a list of names inputed by the user in reverse order, display any names that begin with M or m, and display any names with 5 or more letters. This is all done with arrays.
That was the fun part. The next part requires me to take the names from a Notepad file, them through the arrays and then output them to a second Notepad file.
Here is the original program: (view in full screen so that the code doesn't get jumbled)
import java.io.*;       //Imports the Java library
    class progB                    //Defines class
public static void main (String[] arguments) throws IOException
            BufferedReader keyboard;                                  //<-
InputStreamReader reader;                                 //  Allows the program to
reader = new InputStreamReader (System.in);               //  read the the keyboard

                        System.out.println ("Name " + array [order] + " have 5 or more letters ");      //<-
}The notepad file contains the following names:
    jim
    laruie
    tim
    timothy
    manny
    joseph
    matty
    amanda
I have tried various methods but the one thing that really gets me is the fact that i can't find a way to connect the names to the arrays. Opening the file with FileInputStream is easy enough but using the names and then outputing them is quite hard. (unless i'm thinking too hard and there really is a simple method)

By "connect", do you just mean you want to put the names into an array?
    array[0] = "jim"
    array[1] = "laruie"
    and so on?
That shouldn't be difficult at all, provided you know how to open a file for reading, and how to read a line of text from it. You can just read the line of text, put it in the array position you want, until the file is exhausted. Then open a file for writing, loop through the array, and write a line.
What part of all that do you need help with?

  • Help with a fcpx library that is locked "could not be opened. Read-only file system"

    Hi all,
I recently moved all my fcpx projects/events to a new Harddrive - I thought I did this correctly by copying/duplicating all projects/events from within FCPX.
When I last used FCPX all the projects/events were there - no issues.  Also, when I look at package contents - everything is still there in terms of events and file sizes.
All the library files are on an external hard drive, on an encrypted disk image.  Now a week later I have tried to open FCPX and I get the following error
"The document “MND_Z_FCPX” could not be opened. Read-only file system" and nothing will open.
Have checked permissions - these all seem in order.  OSX is10.9.5
Any suggestions as to what might be the issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    R

the permissions themselves look ok - they have my two computer profiles as read/write.   I also note that on some occasions the library has opened in my other Computer profile, but not in the one that I want it to open.
So I think you're right, there is something with permissions happening here.  I keep a work and personal computer profile.
Don't know how it happened - but the volume is definitely Read Only - even though I've created a Read/Write permissions for it

  • Help with importing PC photo files and then organizing it all in iPhoto

    Hi everyone,
I'm relatively new to mac but I am just loving my purchase! I need some serious help with getting all of my photos organized though so I can easily find it for editing in iMovie.
I've accumulated over 10,000 photos stored on my PC which I've since transferred over to my LaCie external drive for my MacBook Pro via a wireless network connecting my PC & Mac. Some of these I've put onto my laptop internal hard drive and those I've imported into the iPhoto library. However, do I need to move the rest of the photos from my LaCie drive into my internal hard drive to import the photos into iPhoto, or can I tell iPhoto to look for the files in the external drive. If so, how do I do that? I know I'll then have to create albums in order to sort them, which I know how to do. Is there any fast way to do it by date? I had it sorted into different file folders by month & year so I could easily find them on my PC and would like to do the same using albums.
I am quickly running out of hard drive space on my laptop which is why I've put most of my photos on the external drive. Once I organize my existing collection, I would like to be able to import new pictures and have it stored on my external drive, not my internal drive. How do I do that?
Any other tips on organizing a massive photo library would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Karen

    Karen,
Is there any fast way to do it by date? I had it sorted into different file folders by month & year so I could easily find them on my PC and would like to do the same using albums.
This is where you get to enjoy the power of iPhoto's database. You can change the Sort in the View menu. Check out View > Sort Photos > by Date.
Or, click the little calendar icon near the lower left corner of the iPhoto window. This allows you to filter the library by year, month, week, or date. You can Command-click to add another date to your filter. You can Option-click to choose a recurring date: you get that month or date for all years in your library. [Want to see your kid's birthday for every year? Just Option-Click that date. Cool.]
The keywords filter is similar. There is a preference setting where you choose to filter based on ALL keywords chosen (where by choosing more keywords you narrow your field) or ANY keyword (where the more keywords you choose, the larger your field will be). Click on a keyword to filter your library by all photos containing that keyword. Use Command-click to add more keywords to the filter. A difference is that Option-click will eliminate photos with that keyword from your filter. [You can find all pictures of your kids with your dog but NOT at Halloween.]
You can create Smart Albums to combine the use of dates, keywords, ratings, titles, comments and more. The more information you enter into the database, the more powerful the tools become.
When your task of importing is complete and you are ready to play with iPhoto's features it may help to look at the iPhoto multimedia tutorial. Better organized than trying to read through the Help files, it can help you get acquainted with many of iPhoto's features.
    Have fun.

  • Problem with reusing saved library file due to iTunes version differences

I was running iTunes on my Windows PC with Vista 64-Bit since March 17, 2009. Everything was fine until some operating system file got corrupted two days back, and Microsoft had to wipe out my hard drive and reinstall the Operating System to the factory settings.
I did back up everything, including the iTunes Music files and the Library files to my external hard drive. But, I forgot to note the exact version of my Itunes, except I do remmebr that I had refused all attempts by iTunes over last month or so to install Ver. 8.2 becasue of some bad things I had read in this forum about some of the problems with 8.2. I had a record of the last version I had installed and it was 8.1.0.52.
So, after the operatng system reinstaled, I downloaded iTunes 8.1.1 and installed it. I then copied the iTunes Music files and the libary file to the exatly same folder structure as before.
I hold down the SHIFT key and start up iTunes. And, when I point to the Library file, iTunes says that the libray file can not be accessed because it was made by a newer version of iTunes! I just don't understand how that can be!
In any case, I can use your advice as to what do I do next to be able to use my saved library and start using my iTunes and my iPod!
    Thank you.

I downloaded and installed iTunes ver. 8.2.0.23 x64, and now, am very happy to say, that iTunes was able to read my library, and it did recognize my iPod just fine. That's the very good news.
Now, the slight bad news. May be 100 or so, out of some 9000 tracks of music, appear with a '!' to the left of the track listing. It si becasue it does not find it? Why?
Now, I do have to go back to my Album files and identify each of these. Can some one please help me out as to why this problem occured? I certainly did not move any songs to any place and the folder structure is identical to what they were before!
    Thank you.

  • Help with connecting to NIST NTP server on port 123

I can get NIST time in Daytime format using the rt_nist_date_time.llb example posted on ni.com, but I cannot connect to NIST NTP format time data using port 123.  I freely admit to being over my head with this stuff, and have spent much of this Thanksgiving holiday reading about UDP and TCP.
The attached vi summarizes what I've tried so far.  The UDP case is what I thought would work, but I can't come up with a network address that the UDP-open vi likes.  Can anyone out there help this n00b tell the time?
The attached file is supposed to be in 8.0 format, although I'm working in 9.0

THANK YOU!!!  I don't think I ever would have come up with connecting the web address to a Read or Write UDP rather than the Open UDP block.  Not to mention starting by opening port zero.
Unlike TCP, UDP is a connectionless protocol. Here's a quick explanation in different words.
A udp packet travels from a [sourceIP, sourcePort] to a [DestinationIP, destinationPort].
UDP open basically reserves a local port used for sending (soucePort) and receiving (incoming packet with that same destinationPort). Since some local ports are always in use, you would generate an error if you would accidentally pick a used port. Picking zero is useful for requests (as in this case!), because the OS will pick an unused ephemeral port. The actual source port number does not matter because the NTP server will just send the reply packet back to whatever port it came from. (If you would write your own NTP server in LabVIEW, you would of course need to set the local port to 123, and would get a conflict if another NTP server is already running on your rig). Writing an NTP server in LabVIEW would be a trivial modification to the current code, try it! . Simply listen for packets on port 123, form a response packet based on the timestamp, and send it to whatever IP/Port it came from (that info is available from udp read) and then go back to listen for new requests.).
UDP write sends a packet to the server using the above opened local port as source port. You can use the same connectionID to write to several other servers and ports, because UDP is connectionless. (TCP is connection based, so a TCP connection involves a defined source/destination pair)
UDP read listens for incoming packets from all over the world at that same local port. It is very unlikely, but theoretically possible that other UDP packets will arrive at that same port, so you could even filter to make sure to read incoming packets until they match the port and IP of the original request. The current code is somewhat vulnerable to a DOS (denial of service) attack for example as follows: Imagine the guy in the next cubicle had means of sniffing your network traffic. He could write a small program that looks for your NTP requests and then immediately starts flooding your IP with meaningless UDP packets to the sourcePort you just used. The current program only reads one packet and thus will never see the return packet from the NTP server.
UDP close frees up the local port and the computer is now no longer listening for packets on that port. Of course you could keep the port open for the duration of the program, especially if you intend to send UDP request once in a while during execution.
    Makes sense?

  • Please help with backing up library

OK, this has maybe been addressed before but I'm new here and haven't really found an answer on the forums... My work is saved as monthly projects and I want to export them to an external HD with metadata and adjustments etc but retain a referenced version in my library on my mac. Make sense? If I need to get anything back I can do a quick search and plug in the HD - yes? Trouble is if I export the project as-is I can't reimport referenced files... This is maybe my poor working practice and I'd really appreciate some help with it. I've previously just exported versions then burned DVD's but I'd really like to keep a record of pics on the mac if poss. HELP PLEASE!

You don't need to export you can do it from within Aperture, see *File->Relocate Master*.
Again check out the user manual Apple did a real good job with this one.
And PLEASE, PLEASE, make a complete backup of your Aperture library before trying any of this we are not responsible for lost, missing or mutilated photos

  • ITunes Library on NAS - issue with saving the library file

I recently moved my library file and all iTunes data to a NAS. Generally, this setup seems to work (although writing files and editing information is fairly slow). However, when iTunes is open for longer periods, I often get the error message "The iTunes library cannot be saved. The required disk cannot be found." The connection to my NAS drive seems ok, though. I would welcome any ideas or reports of any settings changes that may have fixed the same issue.

It sounds to me like your NAS is going to sleep.
From what I have read on this forum using iTunes with NAS has all kinds of issues.

  • Help with Accessing iTunes Library from both Mac and PC

    Hi All
I'm new to this community and new(ish) to the world of Mac.
At home we share a single iTunes Library stored on a NAS Drive across 4 different Windows PC's (Mine, My Wifes and the 2 kids).  I have recetly got myself a MacBook Pro and hoped to hook it up to our central iTunes library.
I was pleased to see that the Library opened but sadly none of the songs can be located and I get the dreaded grey symbol against tracks if I try and play them.
On further investigation it would appear to be a naming convention issue.  The iTunes Library is expecting to see each song in the following location:
    file://localhost/Volumes/Music/iTunes Library/iTunes Media/Music/Artist/Album/song.mp3
The problem is the localhost element as the mac sees the same location as:
    file://Volumes/Music/iTunes Library/iTunes Media/Music/Artist/Album/song.mp3
Is there anyway of harmonising between the 2 systems?  or am I asking the impossible.
    Many Thanks .... Blue

    Thanks Jim
    That does make sense.
BUT ... have been doing some more investigation and it appears that my Windows iTunes is displaying the same symptoms and the tracks have lost connection with the iTunes Library.
    I'm now very confused ....
I take it what I am trying to do IS possible?
    Any other suggestions.
    Many Thanks .... Blue

  • MSI P67A-C45 (B3) Newb needs Help with connections..

    Hi all..
First time posting here, but have been in the shadows for quite a while..
Anyway, i decided to finally take the plunge, and build my own PC, and now i'm beginning to hit a few bumps.
I have a couple of questions that i would like some help with, if possible to reassure myself i may be in the right direction..
I bought THIS PSU and was hoping someone could tell me where the Blue connectors (one labelled CP and one labelled U1) Connect to?
Is it into JPWR2? And does it/do they only connect in the correct way? (Do i remove the plastic cap and attach both?
and i bought THIS VIDEO/GRAPHICS CARD and i'm guessing the RED "PCI express" and "SLI ready" connect to that somehow (Haven't opened box yet for card)
Again, wondering is there a certain way for them to connect.
Also, from my chassis, the "AC '97" and "HDA" connectors go to JAUD (I guess), does it matter which one? (I currently have "HDA" connected)
I have i5 2500k already on board. (If that makes a difference).

Do the Audio plugs go into JAUD? and does it matter which one?
Yep, connect the front panel audio to the JAUD. If you need the pin layout, it says in the manual. I would say the HDA connector is the one to connect.

Any recommendations for testing it all, before i plug it in, and press the power?
Should i (Can i) test individual parts first?
    Thanks again.
Check all power connections, seating of the RAM and add-on cards, check the HSF is plugged into the fan header, and obvious things like that.
As for testing, enter the BIOS and make sure the CPU isn't running too hot. Set up the RAM with the required timings and voltage, and test with >>Memtest86<< for several hours. No point starting the Windows installation if say your RAM has errors, since it will corrupt files during the install, if it installs at all.
