Hey Apple! 1 year and still can't guess my Restrictions password... Maybe.

Ok so I can't remember my Restrictions password that I set up over a year ago to prevent my then 2 year old from buying Smurf Berries or some other ridiculous virtual item for one of his games. Obviously i did what all security conscious people do and didn't write it down for someone to find. I tried a few guesses at the password with an ominous count of my failures appearing on the screen. I hit attempt 6 and it told me to wait 1 minute. I tried after 1 minute and it said wait five. I'm now up to an hour and have not nearly exhausted possible known passwords. Why on Gods green Earth did some genius at Apple see fit to impose such time restrictions on my iPad? Not only is it annoying and pointless (it would take so long to guess a 4 digit password anyway that a would be thief that wants to buy Smurf Berries on my iPad would just give up after a few minutes), it prevents anyone from lifting restrictions they have placed. Even if I wanted to buy virtual items now, I can't, which I doubt app makers would be happy about. I have no idea if the time limit can reach one year but at this rate it won't take long. So if your reading this Apple, how about letting me sit down with my own iPad, that I own, and guess my password without your interference?

I did point out that I have many known passwords to try and the time limit is preventing me from trying them. I'm up to 9 and I can think of over 30 that I use. How long do you think it will take to try them all when the time limit increases exponentially each time? Ludicrous. And what exactly does it add to the security? If it was the pass code for the whole iPad that would be something else and I'd expect nothing short of a total lockdown after 3 tries like on a credit card PIN number. This however is just for a few settings, with the one in question just to prevent my toddler accidentally spending a fortune on the App Store. The way it is designed you are forced to place the restriction because, deliberately I'm sure, it's very easy to buy stuff by blindly fumbling with the iPad within the 15 minutes after using the app store. And then your effectively locked out if you have anything more than a handful of passwords in your head. Not clever if you ask me.
