Hey there, for some reason, on my iPod Touch 4th gen, I have never been able to get iMessage to work.When I verify my email address to activate it, it automatically goes back and never allows me to do iMessage. Why is this or what should I do?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>General>Date&Time and make sure it is set to Automatic
- Go to Settings>wifi>the connected network and change the DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8
- Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign back in

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected and tap .
If your IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, you may not be able to access the Internet.
If you do not have a self-assigned IP address, see if other Wi-Fi devices on your network have Internet access.
If they do not, consult with your network administrator or ISP for further assistance.
If they do, reset network settings on your device by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings

IPod Touch 4th Gen all have diff. fps. Need to render all in FCP?!
I have an iPod Touch 4th Gen and am trying to edit the videos taken on it on Final Cut Pro 6. But, I noticed all of the videos have different fps (frames per second). Do I literally have to render out all of them so I can view it? Or is there in option in Final Cut Pro where I can set the sequence settings to a generalized h.264 setting to cover all fps? Help!

FCP doesn't work with H.264 natively . You need to convert all the files so they will match your FCP Sequence settings.

My daughter's ipod touch 4th gen did work on a dock and no longer does. I have read a number of pieces of advice - download an update of iTunes, reset to original settings, neither seems to have helped. As it is less than 12 months old, do you think I return this as it is still under warranty? She got a dock for Christmas and is VERY disappointed that her iPod does not work on it, even though her old CHinese copy of an ipod (1st) will work on the dock. HELP!

I found this article when searching for info on restoring (to factory conditions) an iPod Touch 4th Generation. Now I thought this shipped with iOS 5.x (x unknown). But as mentioned too briefly in the header, when I click 'Restore' in iTunes, it offers not to restore, but to update. That is not what I want. I need to use this iPod Touch with Xcode 4.2 under Snow Leopard.
So the question is: what is really going on here and why? Is it really true that 4th G iPod Touches ship with 6.0.1 instead of 5.x? If not, how can I get it to really go back to the original? Why is iTunes failing to offer a restore when I press 'Restore'? If I guessed wrong about which of my several machines running iTunes (some under Windows7, one under Snow Leopard)I used when I upgraded to iOS 6.0.1, would that explain iTune's failure to offer a true Restore?Restore will not replace an old iOS level. It will update the iOS level to the latest level. If you have to restore youre iPod that is what will happen. The iOS is not a part of a backup.

My ipod touch 4th gen sometimes is unable to locate my nike sensor. works fine with an ipod nano.
i got an ipod touch for christmas after using an ipod nano with my nike+ sensor. after a month or so, the ipod touch was unable to locate my sensor after i pause during my workout. since the sensor was a little old, i got a new one and it worked for about 2 weeks, then i had the same problem. tried using my ipod nano and it has no trouble locating the sensor. what is wrong with the ipod touch?
the first time, settings>nike+ was grayed out and i couldn't turn off the nike+ button. had to reboot to recover the nike+. yesterday and today, bluetooth and nike+ are active in settings, however, the sensor can't be located.
i'd rather not reset everytime this happens. do you think the bluetooth is defective? -
please help my ipod out of this rebooting loop the update doesnt work
as in the loop it shows the apple logo on the screen and right as it gets out of reboot it flashes white and goes back to the apple logo and does it none stop its not in DFU mode because ive tried, and by it quits it has to update before i can restore and in the middle of the update it gives me a notification with a number on it the number is really long and has alot of 0's and i think one 7 so i hope that help your question for my question

I have, a couple different pairs, unfortunately, and still no change. TBH, the headphones don't bug me nearly as bad as the fact that I can't plug my iPod into a radio or speaker with an audio cable and hear my latest purchases. Drives me crazy that I can't listen to my tunes!

I can not get into itunes on my computer. I click on the icon but then nothing happens.
Is this problem with Windows 7 on a non-Apple machine, or with a Mac? Mac OS X 10.6 can't run on a non-Apple machine, but Windows can run on a Mac machine with virtualization.

Lost iPod Touch 4th Gen, not allowed to use iCloud
Hi all,
I recently misplaced my iPod Touch 4th Gen, I have done this before and have successfully used find my iPhone to locate it. However, there appears to have been some sort of update, and Apple will no longer allow me access to iCloud unless I set it up on a OSX or IOS device, which, has been lost. (I do not have a MAC).
Does anyone know of anyway that I can still use iCloud?
Any help appreciated.

hey i broke the screen on my ipod touch 4th Gen and im trying to do a backup on the data but it says I need to enter a passcode on my ipod but the screen dosent work so what can I do.
You can't backup the iPod t iTunes then. You will have to use an existing iTunes backup.
If iCloud backup is turned on and the iPod is still working (not disabled), the iPod will automatically backup daily if an internet connection is available and the iPod is connected to a charging source. -
How do I restore the IOS 6 version of GarageBand on my Ipod Touch 4th Gen?

I was trying to clear some memory space on my Ipod Touch 4th Gen 8GB. I uninstalled GarageBand to get rid of the pesky Document & Data files. Then I was going to reinstall it. But when I did, the Itunes App Store downloaded the current IOS7 version. My device was not updated to IOS7, and the lastest app will not install on it.
Is there a way to get the IOS6 version of GarageBand to upload to my Ipod Touch 4th Gen at this point? I feel kind of robbed. I bought the app with the view that it would be good for the life of the device, not be invalidated when the next big IOS upgrade came around. I have had this problem with a few other apps, but this app I use a lot.
Thanks for any help.no I don't because my computer has been reinstalled fully since any of the old backups were done and even so, apps are stored in the itunes folders and not the backup files of the device. I have tried to contact apple/itunes and they don't want to know because I won't upgrade to a newer ipod touch that supports ios 7. I like my ipod touch 4th gen even though the wifi is damaged beyond repair. This is the way things are and big companies like apple expect people to upgrade to keep up with the latest version but the reality is that people don't because of the cost of the new devices.
I'll just have to deal with the fact that I cannot use it to read while on the bus/train any more. Ipod touch 4g is now just a music player/basic camera.
