HH3 broadband not working on Desktop PC

Hi,
BT have just sent me a Home Hub 3 to upgrade from my HH 1.5. I have connected it up fine, the wireless works and it work when i connect it to my BT work laptop via ethernet (I work for BT). However when i plug the ethernet into my Dell desktop PC i cant get a broadband connection (normal, not infinity).
My old HH 1.5 works fine on all 3 devices.  
Are there some settings on my Desktop PC that i need to change for HH3? Or could there be some other problem?

have you updated the driver for your network card from the manufacturers website and don't rely on windows update

  • BT Broadband not working when on the phone

    Been a BT customer for couple of months.
    Multple devices are connected to the Hub no problems but when the phone rings the broadband does not work. 
    The Hub flashes orange almost everytime when someone is on the phone. Whether it be a outgoing or incoming call.
    Only using the master socket for both the phone and the Hub. Using the inbuilt filter on the socket. 
    If anyone could help with this issue I would greatly appreciate it.  
    Did not have this issue with Orange Broadband so there must be something wrong on BT's end not ours!

    Can you specify your current setup?
    Which Hub do you use?
    Does your phone socket have the 'Openreach' symbol on it?
    Do you use filters?
    Is your hub connected to the master socket?
    Is your phone connected to an extension socket?

  • BT infinity broadband not working for me

    Hi guys, my new home fibre broadband is not working after the engineer visit, the hub has orange light all the time, everytime i tried to connect to the broadband, it automatically directed me to the troubleshooting page, which indicates my broadband doesnt work is due to my BT broadband account name is incorrect, my current bt broandband account name is set to BT default username, i tried both auto reset and manual reset, both no help at all.
    i also called bt customer service line everyday for the last 10 days and no one could help me out. im sort of in a desperate mode right now.
    can someone from BT or forum user shed any light at all on this issue?

  • Yahoo mailbox not working on desktop

    For the past week my yahoo mailbox has not worked on my desktop. gmail is working fine. I have put my password in but mail doesn't seem to take it. I am running Snow L because my macbook pro is too old to upgrade. Is this the issue? iPad/phone working ok. I have restarted mail several times to no avail.

  • ICloud mail not working on desktop but OK on iCloud website

    Loaded OS Lion on iMac yesterday and transferred mail from MobileMe to iCloud.  Spent hours trying to get mail working on desktop but finally succeeded.  Shutting down overnight caused mail to quit working again.  However, if I go to iCloud website the mail works OK.  I know others have had mail problems with Lion, can anyone advise what to do?  I've tried just about everything from Apple support.

    After all this months making this question shows that there is no QA Team at spotify , Sorry starting by complaining. So this wont work with or without proxy. I have tried both ways. You can contact your internal support team or Open an internal ticket. They will confirm that this is not working. They can figure it out very quickly and simulate proxy usage. Maybe you cna even try it yourself and join this long list of unhappy people .

  • Wired Logitech Mouse not Working on Desktop only in Windows 7

    I used a wireless, but got fed up changing batteries so went back years ago to using a wired mouse when using Windows 7.   However, about 1 in 4 times, in the last few months, when I switch on my computer, the mouse will not let me choose
    if I want to go into my pages or my partners' page.  It just hovers all over the Desktop and I have to switch off the computer and reboot it to get the mouse to work properly.  THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I SWITCH ON THE COMPUTER AND ONLY HOVERS
    IN THE DESKTOP.
    I have used more than one mouse and have put it in different ports and it makes no difference.  Somewhere on my system when the computer starts up, it randomly does not recognise the different wired "mouses" I use.  Otherwise
    I have no problem using the mouse and it generally works fine.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this start-up/desktop mouse problem?  Thanks.

    Try to uninstall the USB controller driver:
    1.Open the Device Manager.
    2.Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
    3.Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    4.Restart the computer, and then reinstall the USB controllers.
    Check the result again.

  • Sync does not work- multiple desktop FF

    Sync does not allow adding more than one DESKTOP FF in order to sync multiple desktop FF (e.g: work, home, & friends , etc..)
    I do not like to use an add-on.

    Sync doesn't care about the type of device (desktop vs laptop vs phone) when trying to add a new device to a Sync account. Please explain what you want to do with Sync with a little more detail.

  • Dock looks screwy, clock is missing and LMB not working on desktop

    This seems to touch on several parts of the os at once:
    I maintain two iMacs in a retail environment - the accounts are managed and the users can only access some basic functions of the OS plus our POS software. They can't install apps or adjust settings so there's little they can do theoretically. All software is either in the OS or is made for 10.6 (MS Office on one machine, Salon Transcripts on both)
    I first had this problem on one iMac that had 10.5 (the rest were on 10.4) and out of frustration, I upgraded both machines to 10.6 and now the problem happens on both.
    1. Left clicks don't work in dock (3 button mouse. hover works, right mouse button works) or on desktop icons. Can't launch new apps but can cmd tab to active apps. Once in an app, LMB clicks works fine.
    2. An open app might leave a copy of itself on the desktop (like a buffer not refreshing) except that I can launch the app over that image and the image will remain. It's very confusing to the users who don't know how to tell the difference.
    3. The dock looses it's background graphic. The dock's mirror effect ends up mirroring everything in the lower part of the screen - apps, desktop, dock icons, etc. so the bottom inch of the screen is just a mirror of the inch of screen just above it.
    4. The top bar clock and all icons on the right half of the bar are missing.
    A reboot fixes all of the above for a short while and the problems return. This is really frustrating and debilitating during retail hours. Suggestions or fixes are welcome.
    hardware: both are iMac 17" core 2 duo MA590LL/A, 1Gb ram, 160GB drives that are mostly unused.

    Unlike SideStepSociety, I've never +wiped an HD and reinstalled from scratch+, finding it to be total waste of time. I've beta-tested every OS upgrade from Panther through Snow Leopard and always just upgrade them, ensuring that I have tested bootable backups/clones to revert back to. The only time I install the OS onto an empty volume is to test that the setup assistant does its magic by migrating from the previously good OS. Once I ensure that the procedure works, I wipe the HD, put a clone onto it, and upgrade it.
    As for your query, if the original is mucked up, so will be the backup/clone. I use Carbon Copy Cloner instead of SuperDuper!, but both are viable.

  • Moved House - Broadband not working - Netgear rout...

    Hi,
    I moved home over the weekend, and got a text from BT this morning stating that the broadband is now connected.
    Have set up everything as it was in my old house, and broadband cannot be connected.
    The Netgear router has all lights ok, except the internet one, which is red.
    My laptop and ipad can both see the home network, so the router is available, but it seems that it cannot resolve the DNS.
    I have not changed any settings, as I was told to just 'plug and play'  -it would all work as it does now.
    Two calls to BT help have been less than helpful, both instructing me that the router is broken which is rubbish.
    Does anyone know what the problem could be?

    Hello,
    Internet light red on Netgear routers can mean that CHAP authentication has failed. What have you got for the ADSL username or password? According to this document:

    You should use the BT username that they originally sent you:
    You also require your BT Broadband username. This was given to you at the time you orderd broadband and is usually made up of [email protected] where 'your' equals your first name and 'name' equals your surname, for example [email protected] BT Broadband does not require that you enter a password to connect, but some routers won't connect to the Internet without a password. If this is the case, enter the word BT.

  • Vodafone Australia wireless broadband not working on Tiger

    Hi,
    I just signed up to Vodafone's wireless broadband. It says the minimum requirement is panther or higher. I tried installing the software and got down to just 5 items more to install and it kept saying "searching hard drive" and not finishing the install. Maybe I have accidently deleted something it needs to finish the install hence the searching.
    Has anyone else got it working on their G4 laptop? Would really appreciate some assistance on this one,

  • HP Pavilion split x2 r-100dx Mobile Broadband Not Working

    I have recently purchased my HP pavilion split x2 r-100dx from Best Buy.
    Following are the details about the product :-
    (a)   Product name: HP Split 13 x2 Detachable PC
    (b)   Product number: G6Q91UA#ABA
    (c)   Serial number: [edited Serial Number by Moderator]
    (d)   Windows 8.1 64-bit 
    (e)   Network Adaptor HP lt4114 LTE 4G Module (As Shown in device Manager)
    It has 4g LTE mobile broadband SIM Slot.
    My Tablet plus Notebook is unlocked. But there was a verizone SIM inside the slot.
    Which may mean that its not unlocked and its locked to Verizone.
    Since its recipt, its Mobile Broadband settings Show the SIM Card details but NO SIGNAL.
    I have tried the following :-
    (a)  I have tried HP Online Support but they couldn't solve the issue.
    (b)  Tried installing HP Connection Manager which says there is not WWAN Device Detected.
    I am stuck. I have paid extra 100 Bucks for its international version to be factory unlocked so that I can use my local Mobile Broadband SIM but of no use.
    Does any one know this issue or help me in this regard.

    Glad to hear you got it resolved. I finally had to exchange mine for a new one and from the startup has been working as expected. The original tech at Best Buy did not connect to power before he tried to start the computer the first timne. It is the first item in the start up instructions.   • Treo 680 Dial Pad not working after desktop update

    I was a Zire 72 user.
    I bought a Treo 690. As manual said, I installed Palm Desktop over my old Zire PD.
    Everythings works fine but two problems.
    1- The dial pad does not show the numbers for dial anymore.
    When I press the dial pad, nothing happens. If I use the 5 way navigator, I can switch between all the other 4 tabs, but it acts like the dial pad tab does not exist.
    2- Contacts were not updated ion my phone. I guess it's because I'm synchronizing with outlook 2007. Should I install 2007 conduit updater?
    I'm thinking it would be better to uninstall PDesktop, reset my palm and start installing each application one by one.

    You can uninstall current version of Skype from the control Panel and you can install Special Version.

    and disable automatic updating of Skype.
    In Skype, Tools >> Options >> Advanced >> Automatic updates >> Click on Turn off automatic updates >> Save Changes.
