Hi, be greatful for some help! Trying to change appleid in my app store. Whenever i try and manually add, i get the message, an unknown error has occured. Appreciate any tips!
Problem solved!
Since the question - actually not a question but merely a useless post - is almost one year old, the chances of the OP still getting email notifications for this "issues" are probably non existent and you are most likely not going to hear back from him.
Sign out of your ID, restart the iPad and then try signing in again and see if that works. And since I have no clue what iOS your are running, this will be somewhat generic.
Settings>Store>Tap your ID. Sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. To back to Settings>Store>Apple ID - sign in again.

I keep getting the message "An unknown error has occurred" when trying to sign in to the App Store. How do I solve this problem?
Make sure you have the correct country selected. Click the round flag icon bottom right side of the App Store window.

Can anybody help me with the above question? There doesn't seem to be an email address for simple queries about services that don't work!
Perhaps try the "Error 3001," "-42110," or "5103" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

whenever i try and delete mail, i get a message that I cannot move that message to trash??? any help?
In my (father's) case, inside the
Library/Mail/POP-username@serveraddress ,
there was a "folder" named "Deleted Messages". The icon was also a standard folder icon.
Just by renaming it to "Deleted Messages.mbox",
the icon was changed to a document tray icon,
and deleting messages started working. -
I'm trying to update my apps and purchase a movie from itunes and it keeps saying "an unknown error has occurred." How do I fix this?
Trying to do both at the same time? Try updating the apps first. Maybe one at a time. Then try buying the movie.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -

HT4061 Help with Restore error message "An unknown error has occurred (2006)"
My iphone 4s stopped working suddenly today - I have tried to restore it but am getting an error message every time that says "An unknown error has occurred (2006)" - does anyone know what I can do please?
Hello Miranda,
The following article contains information that may help get your iPhone restored.
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.
All the best,

I was trying to run ITunes 10.7 update on my Mac Pro with Retina dispaly but "An error has occurred" and I was not able to proceed with the update. The message says "The operation was cancelled. (3072)." I have no other messages. Any ideas why I cannot install this update
Scott's solution fixed the problem. It would have been helpful if the update message in the App Store had reported that. I had first tried B Noir's solution -- and received a helpful warning message that a guest user was still logged in to iTunes. I switched over, logged the guest user out, switched back and the update within the App store worked perfectly.
It seems to me that Apple should invest a little time and effort in making their error/warning messages easier to decipher. I have to come to the forum every time something happens. Why not simply have a dialogue window that opens up to explain the most likely issues?
