HI I downloaded iOS 5 and my iPhone has only five GB left in the memory. Is it supposed to be that way? I had to deactivate several features and erase my music. I am new at this, is it supposed to be that way?

HELP! I have a 16GB iphone 4 and when I downloaded the iOS5 software most of the memory was used. I only have about 5 GB for apps and music. Is it supposed to be that way? What did I do wrong?

When you buy a certain size iPhone, you do not get all 16GB of storage. You should get around 14.8 to use. So, subtract ~5 and that is ~9... iOS 5 probably didn't install right, so do a full restore.

I played around with it a bit and it seems that if you slide your finger from the bottom up, you will come upon that new screen that will allow you to do various functions with your phone (put it in airport mode, lock, etc.), you can select your Airport from this screen and play your music wirelessly from your phone; at least this was my experience. I just downloaded IOS 8 on my Iphone 5 and to do so i had to delete all my photos to clear space, but before so I selected all of them and copied them. Now were can i go to paste all 400 of them and get them back ?

As razmee209 said, you can use iTunes to install photos on your phone from wherever you have them stored. Where did you copy them to? Are you saying you selected them on you phone and just hit "copy"? That would only copy one at a time to the "clipboard" so that you can paste it somewhere else. As you copy each one, the previous one is deleted from the clipboard. This is not a storage area. Did you back them up on your computer or in iCloud?

The SMS links thing is highly annoying. You don't have to copy/paste however. You should see an icon like this: (>) to the right of the text bubble with the link. Tap on that, the in the screen that opens, tap "Visit".
Alternatively, you can tap twice directly on the link, then hold your finger down after the second tap.
Still unnecessarily difficult, but not as bad as copy/paste.
What I don't get is why can't I find any mention of this change or how to fix it (if even possible) elsewhere online?

HT4972 why won't my phone "restore"? I downloaded ios 5 and did not unplug my iphone. Toward the end it said error occurred, then said iphone cannot be restored. Now it has a pic of itunes and won't do anything. I can't even make a call, or get email.

The iPhone 3G does not support iOS5. The only way you could get iTunes to download that particular iOS is if you were attempting a hack. The lastest firmware for the 3G and the last one that it supports is 4.2.1.

If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, restore the device from the computer to which the device is synced. For information and instructions, see:

Sounds like you have something running that is taking up quite a bit of your CPU power. Try shutting off your apps and potentially shutting off your bluetooth and wifi?
