Hide drill down OK option

Hi ,
I have created a report with hide drill down ok at group level.
Is there a way in crystal to expand the group and see results. I can only see if i double click a record on my preview page , a new page opens up with details.
Is there any option in CR X! to click on + icon and expand to view the details?
Kindly suggest

No such option in Crystal alone, but at least one of the 3rd-party Crystal Reports viewers (see list at http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html) provides In-Place Drill Down functionality.  For a video demo, see: [http://www.milletsoftware.com/Download/DLV_InPlace_DrillDown.wmv|http://www.milletsoftware.com/Download/DLV_InPlace_DrillDown.wmv]

  • Hide (Drill-Down OK)

    Hi,
    Im using Crystal Reports XI.
I have used 2 groups in my report and I have checked the option "Hide Drill-Down OK" under Section Expert for Group 2 and the Details Sections.
On drilldown, I get that particular Heading and the Drilled data in a new Tab.
But I want them to be displayed in the same page under the same heading itself and no need in a seperate page.
    Eg:
    Group1
    Group2 (hiden)
    Details  (hiden)
    Continent  -
Group1   On further drill dwon i'll get
    Continent
      Mercury
      Venus
      Earth     -
On drill down (Group2) Earth   I get
      Mars
    Continent
      Earth
          Africa
          Europe
But I want it them as
    Continent
       Mercury
       Venus
        Earth
             Africa
             Europe
        Mars
Is there asny possibilty of getting such output...
    Please suggest..
    Thank you
    Eswari

You cannot get the drilldown data in same page. When you drilldown it will be opened in a separate tab, this is by design.

  • Use Of Filter and Drill Down  By Option in Context Menu

    Hi,
We are  on  BI  7.0 patch 14.0
I have the Filter and Drill Down by option checked in the context menu Web item in WAD . However when I preview on the Web what happens is that the characteristic that I am using the filter and  drill down on shows up horizontally as opposed to in a column.
For eg: If I have the following data initially
    01/01/2007     250
    02/01/2007    500.
I keep my cursor on 01/01/2007 and do a filter and drill down by 0calqtr then what I see now is
    01/2007    02/2007 03/2007 04/2007
    instead of
    01/2007
    02/2007
    03/2007
    04/2007.
Each CalQtr will have a key figure Value beside it in the horizontal mode.
This happens only when I pick the characteristic on the Graph. On the Web Item Analysis it works fine. Has anyone faced this issue before. This worked fine when it was WAD 3.5. This affects the presentation of the graph. For Objects that have not been migrated the result still shows fine.

  • Drill Down - User Options

I have a report that shows the total sales for the current month. I have created a hyperlink on that field to link to another report that groups by salesman.
I would like to have the user click on the hyperlink and then allow them to choose how they want to drill down. I would like them to be able to choose between Customer, and Salesman.
Can this be done, if so how can I accomplish this?

Thanks, I have gotten it to work using parameters....
Now just in case you might know how to do this. The very first report in the process needs to run for the current day. In reports how can I find the current day and set it as a parameter before the report runs?
Is there a trigger that I can put a select statement in to grab the system date, and then set the parameter equal to that?

  • Drill Down Charts - Oracle Graphics

My understanding of drill down chart is when
you click on the particular chart element in the Master chart the Detail chart should show up.
But in my situation when I choose run from layout editor in oracle graphics, first the Master chart appears and then it automatically refreshes it with the Detail chart without user intervention. The Master
chart appears as a minimized window.
I am passing parameter between the Master chart and the detail chart.
Could anyone tell me how to solve this
and get the effect of drill down from
Master Chart to show up the Detail Chart Please ?
    Thanks
    Mohan

    Hi Pradeep,
You can careate your own dirlldown chart reports like :
--Create a report using xtreem sample database
--Crate two groups like Country & Reagion and use Yearly sales in your charts
--Place a bar graph on your Country group footer and Region group footer.
--Use Hide(Drill Down Ok) option for region group footer and suppress all other empty sections.
--Now try to drill down through Country group to Region group.
You will have to go through only help documents on drill down options in Crystal.
You have to create a ODBC connection on server end also copy the xtreem database on your server to run you reports in infoview.
Yes Crystal Reports 2008 supports multi level drill down.
    Thanks,
    Sastry

  • How to use drill down option in Crystal Report

    Dear all,
I want to know how to use drill down option in Crystal report 2008.  In below i have explained my screnario
    For example
My scenario is.  In crystal report I have Purchase order like PO101,PO102.  Each purchase order have 5 line items.  If i drill down each purchase order it should display line item in crystal report.
    Regards,
    Baskaran.

    hi,
Create a Group on 'Purchase order'.
Group Expert -> Select the Purchase Order and Click the arrow button such that it appears right side. Click ok.
    GH1 is inserted.
Your detail section should include 'Line items' fields.
Right Click 'Detail' section on left hand side,  Click 'Hide (Drill down Ok)'.
Now you will see only 'Purchase order's in Group Headers.
Now when you click on a particular order, you will see respective line items.
    Regards,

  • Need help with Group Headings and showing them on drill down.

    Hi all:
I think this is a simple question and feel that I should already know the answer but for some reason it eludes me.  What I would like to know is the proper way to hide/display group headings and have them show up on drill down BUT not repeat on each group header.
What I have for grouping is as follows:
Group Header #1 u2013 Sales Rep
      Group Header #2 u2013 Customer
Group Header #3 u2013 Product Class
Group Header #4 u2013 Stock Code
            Details
Group Footer #4 u2013 summary calculated on this line
Group Footer #3  u2013 summary calculated on this line
Group Footer #2 u2013 summary calculated on this line
Group Footer #1 u2013 summary calculated on this line
My goal is to have my report show only the lines listed below by default and allow the user to drill down group by group to the details section:
Group Header #1 u2013 Sales Rep
Group Footer #2 u2013 summary calculated on this line
Group Footer #1 u2013 summary calculated on this line
If anyone could offer any help it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    FatMan

click section expert, then for example of GH3, highlight it, then click on the formula box for suppression, and put in the code....
    Drilldowngrouplevel < 3
The result will be that this GH3 is suppressed whenever the report is showing GH1 and 2 but not 3.
In addition to this, you must Hide(Drill-down ok) GH3. This is also done in the section expert.
Then just do the same for GF3, and for GH4/GF4 make sure you use...
    Drilldowngrouplevel < 4

  • PowerView option - Drill Down one level at a time also hide the columns other than the hierarchy columns

    Hi All,
I have a simple PowerView report (Excel 2013) in which I have a hierarchy (three columns), an image column, and a Value column:
When I change the Show Levels option to "Rows - Enable Drill Down One Level at a Time", image column also hide.
I want to keep the image column displayed while drill down/up to the hierarchy.
Is it possible? If yes, then how?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Muhammad Ehsan

    Hi Muhammad,
According to your description, you have images at child level. Now you want to have the images displayed when have the child level items collapsed. Right?
In this scenario, when you show the data in a matrix in Power View, those images, Size ID and Prices have been added into a child group. If we enable drill down, all the items within the child group will be collapsed. We can't change it at all in Power
    View.
For your requirement, we suggest you design your report using SQL Server Data Tools in Reporting Services. In Reporting Services, we can have specific columns toggled by the parent item.

  • [Forum FAQ] How to use parameter to control the Expand/Collapse drill-down options in SSRS report?

In SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), drill-down is an action we can apply to any report item to hide and show other report items. They all are ways that we can organize and display data to help our users understand our report better. In this article,
we are talking about how to use parameter to control the Expand/Collapse drill-down options in SSRS report.
Consider that the report has a dataset (dsSales) with following fields: SalesTerritoryGroup, SalesTerritoryCountry, CalendarYear, SalesAmount.
    1. The report has the following group settings:
    Parent Group: SalesTerritoryGroup
     Child Group: SalesTerritoryCountry
      Child Group: CalendarYear
       Details: SalesAmount
    2. Add three parameters in the report:
    GroupExpand:
    Available Values: “Specify values”
    Label: Yes           Value: Yes
    Label: No            Value: No
    Default Values: “Specify values”
    Value: Yes
    CountryExpand:
    Available Values: “Specify values”
    Label: Yes           Value: =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="No",Nothing,"Yes")
    Label: No            Value: No
    Default Values: “Specify values”
    Value: =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="No","No","Yes")
    YearExpand:
    Available Values: “Specify values”
    Label: Yes
    Value: =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="No" or Parameters!CountryExpand.Value="No",Nothing,"Yes")
    Label: No            Value: No
    Default Values: “Specify values”
    Value: =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="No" or Parameters!CountryExpand.Value="No","No","Yes")
    3. Right click SalesTerritoryCountry icon in the Row Groups dialog box, select Group Properties.
    4. Click Visibility in the left pane. Select “Show or hide based on an expression” and type with following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="Yes", False, True)
Select “Display can be toggled by this report item” option, and select “SalesTerritoryGroup” in the drop down list.
    5. Use the same method setting CalendarYear, (Details) drill-down with following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!CountryExpand.Value="Yes", False, True)
    =IIF(Parameters!YearExpand.Value="Yes", False, True)
    6. Click SalesTerritoryGroup text box in the tablix. Select InitialToggleState property in the Properties dialog box, and type following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!GroupExpand.Value="Yes", True, False)
    7. Use the same method setting SalesTerritoryCountry, CalendarYear text box with following expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!CountryExpand.Value="Yes", True, False)
    =IIF(Parameters!YearExpand.Value="Yes", True, False)
After that, when we preview the report, we can use these three parameters to expand/collapse drill-down.

  • Drill down hide/show report on same page

    Hi,
Is it possible to create a drill down report where instead of linking to new pages, the details can be displayed using hide/show buttons on the relevant columns? For example, if you have the following fields:
    Region
    Country
    Division
    Account
    Order
    Product ID
    Product Price
Would it be possible to ,by default, have the report only show distinct regions. By clicking an expand button on a particular region, it's countries are displayed. By clicking an expand button on a country, its divisions are displayed, etc., eventually being able to drill down to order details.
This seems similar to a tree to me, although I have not used trees before. However, from the way I understand the structure of hierarchy in trees, the way this data is structured it would not be possible through a tree.
Any ideas? If not I can just settle on a standard drill down report with links to new pages, but if the above is possible it would work much better for my users.
    Thanks

    FJW,
Yes, it's possible. We typically refer people to this demo from Carl to get an idea of how it can be accomplished:

  • Option in SAP B1 9.0 (PL08) to Drill down activities to the user level

    Hi,
My client has deployed SAP Business One Version 9.0 PL 08.
I need to know if there's an option in SAP to drill down all activities/ transactions done in the system to the level where I can get details on the users who were involved in creating/editing certain documents and the basic detail about the creation.
Thanks in advance for reading and helping !!
    Cheers

The answer is yes, SAP does keep document history copy for up to 99 copies (default setting). You can find the history copy by Tools->Change Log.

  • Chart Components : Option to select a item for drill down by Label name

    Hi
Currently for all Chart components in Xcelsius in Drill down mode we do not have the option to insert the X Axis Label values by selecting the Label on the X- Axis. It is made mandatory that we should click on any of the Series and that too we get only Position or Value but not Label.
Why should some one necessarily click on a particular series to drill down. Why cant he drill down by just clicking on x axis label. This seems to be a general requirement but I did not find this option. Am I missing something?
I want to check whether if we will do have the option to select the label name by just clicking on the X-axis labels.
Please note: I know the other alternatives of getting the label by enabling a series and inserting the position and using some label based menu to derive the Label.
    Regards
    Gangadhar

    hi
    then do like this
dont use drill down option for that.
take push buttons and one combo box.
place those pushbuttons into X-Axis Labels and transparent them.
combobox is used for dynamic Data Retrival.
in ComboBox Component behavior properties you have option Selected Item(Type and Item) in that item should be map to Pushbutton Destination cell.
you will get data as per your Requirement(Like you can drill down from X-axis Labels).

  • BP Negative Balance against Deliveries with out the Drill Down option...

    Hi Guys,
There is a BP balance against Deliveries which is a negative balance. It does not give the option to drill down. when the entries were  checked, I can't find a same balance posted under a Return or a Delivery. Any thoughts. Thanks.
    Kind regards,
    Harsha.

    Hi Jitin,
Thanks for the reply, how ever the issue arised after creating two Sales return documents(value £39.73), against one return a AR Credit memo was created which resulted in a balance in the Delivery as -38.21 and when tring to drill down an error was coming up (Internal error 6004 occured message131-183) and did not allow a drilling against the balance. But after cancelling the remaining Return the drilling option dissapeared leaving the negative balance of 38.21. No document can be identified agreeing to the same balance.
    Kind regards,
