High quality bitmap printing

Question

Dear all,
I have to to capture and print a canvas3d with the best possible resolution.
To capture the canvas3d I use class OffScreenCanvas3D with the instructions:
"BufferedImage bImage = new BufferedImage(width, height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB);
ImageComponent2D buffer = new ImageComponent2D(ImageComponent.FORMAT_RGBA, bImage);

bImage = getOffScreenBuffer().getImage();"
I create a BufferedImage of dimensions "height" and "width".
Now I have to print this image with a minimum resolution of 600 dpi or higher. How can I do it?
Currently I can print only at 72 dpi and the output is terrible.

I can't spare too much time here but as Ty suggested there is no printing resolution issue in Java. We regularly use 1200 DPI from Java 2D.
However, I think that the issue is more likely to be the age old one of screen resolution versus printer resolution. Is Java 3D doing a framegrab or similar? If so you won't have a resolution of more than 1600 pixels, more likely much less...
You will need to paint the image into the offscreen canvas at high resolution if you want to print it at high resolution. It would be worth checking out what you have there. Unfortunately, I have never tried to print Java 3D images so I can't really help with its quirks.
