Historical Reporting of data under multiple hierarchy changes

We currently use Hyperion Planning and we change our entity hierarchy often. It is my understanding that in order to report on what the hierarchy "used" to look like versus the current hierarchy requires alternate hierarchies that represent those different points in time. Today we just report all data based on the new hierarchy. However, we are looking at some additional requirements where this could become an issue. Due to the likely significant changes in the hierarchy, we would not want to maintain different hierarchies for all of these changes.
My question is first, is this a correct understanding for Hyperion Planning?
I did see a power point someone posted online that did show that HFM was able to handle this type of requirement, is that correct? Are we able to add an attribute or rule that combines some type of date tag to when the child was under parent A versus when they rolled under parent B. I have looked through the HFM admin guide and users guide online, but didn't see anything that addressed this specific issue. I watched a few tutorials online as well and didn't see anything that seemed to answer my question.
Thanks.

Hi user10086086,
It is true that in order to maintain historical rollups in Hyperion Planning you have to maintain historical heirarchies or become cleaver at storing historical heirarchies for purposes of reproting back to past methods of reporting.
HFM does have the capability to store alternate entity hierarchies from one period to the next - when Organization by Period is enabled within HFM...
The most common entity restructuring is as follows (This is not to say the only type - there are many other types):
Using the Manage Ownersip module within HFM
• An entity is set to be inactive under it's first parent, the balances are frozen for that period (under the first parent), the entity is “recreated” with same name (under a new parent) and “new” balances will be loaded under the new parent for the next and all subsequent periods
By using the same entity with the OrgByPeriod feature within HFM and setting dates for its association with a particular parent with the 'Manage Ownership module' it becomes possible to have alternate entity heirarchies for different periods.
In order to advise on the most appropriate approach it would be necessary to confirm some key points on the requirement; such as, consolidation and translation methods used. Are the rules written to effectively handle opening, closing, movements in an OrgbyPeriod structure? Are there specialized rules/calcs in place that would affect the use of the OrgbyPeriod option? ..etc.
To get an overview of the feature please checkout Oracle Hyperion Financial Management - Administrator's Guide at:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hfm_admin.pdf
The following is and excerpt from the guide:
Chapter 4 Managing Metadata
Organization by Period - page 86
The organization by period functionality enables the most recent consolidation structure to coexist with past structures in the same application.
Organizational structures can change for many reasons, including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, and reorganizations. To support organizational changes, Financial Management uses a system account, Active, to reflect the active or inactive consolidation status of a child into its parent. The Active account acts as a filter of the entity hierarchy. The Active account is an intercompany account that stores data at the parent level and uses the ICP dimension to store information about children.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions regarding this post

  • Historical Report - Missing data

    Hello,
    We have a problem with Historical Report, for some reason we cannot generate report "Agent State Summary by Agent" on particular date (other report have no problem on that particular date). While generating the report, we get the error message "A runtime error occurred while executing the query. Please check log for more detail.".
    HRC log:

    We are on CUCM 8 and UCCX 8.0(2). Does anyone experience this issue? Any idea what cause the issue? Any solution?
    Thank you,
    sovannary

    To fix this kind of issue we need to check if replication between two server is good or not .
    1)Command :- utils uccx dbreplication status (run this command on both the server's
    2) If replication is good then check the status of historical datastore from control center
    3)if all the services are good then check which report is failing .I mean  if agent report is failing then
    run below command to check if that table if fine
    admin:run uccx sql db_cra select count(*) from agentstatedetail
    you can query different tables depending on reports .
    you will get ISAM error in executing sql query then reboot the server . If it does not resolved the problem then open TAC case . we need to drop the table and create it again .
    If Row's on both server's are not matching then we might need to repair the database.
    Command :- utils uccx dbreplication repair db_cra
    Note:- Please contact TAC before executing these commands.
    I hope this will help you .

  • Need to Create Customer Master Data under Multiple Sales Areas

    Hi Gurus,
             My requirement is to create a customer under multiple sales areas by processing the Inbound Idoc function module "IDOC_INPUT_DEBITOR"( After generating Outbound Idoc and outbound is processed successfully).
             But, when I am trying to send the multiple sales areas information in segment "E1KNVVM". It is creating the customer under first sales area filled in first E1KNVVM segment and it is giving error that "Fill all required fields SAPMF02D 0111 ADDR1_DATA-NAME1" and it is not creating the customer under other sales areas.
            Following are the details of the Outbound Idoc which I have processed.
            Idoc Basic type : DEBMAS06
            Message          : DEBMAS
            I have filled required fields in E1KNA1M and E1KNVVM segments. But filled E1KNVVM segments  twice with different sales area data.
          Please help in solving this problem?

    is it really just one IDOC?
    I have never seen that SAP just does a part of one IDOC.
    the structure of DEBMAS ist like this:
    E1KNA1M
    --E1KNVVM
    E1KNVPM
    E1KNVDM
    E1KNVIM
    --E1KNB1M
    which means for your example it should be like this
    E1KNA1M
    --E1KNVVM
    E1KNVPM
    E1KNVDM
    E1KNVIM
    --E1KNVVM
    E1KNVPM
    E1KNVDM
    E1KNVIM
    --E1KNB1M
    and in this case I am very certain that it would never just process and create the part for one sales area.
    Maybe your customer already exists from ealier tests with just one sales area.
    Display your IDOC in WE02 or WE05 and make sure you have a value in name1 field

  • Reporting / inputting data for multiple GAAPs

    In the past we would setup BPC to include reporting for multiple GAAPs (like IFRS, USGAAP and a local GAAP) by means of adding an extra datasource where you would be able to do remapping some of your entries from one GAAP to another.
    SO for instance if you had pensions in IFRS on your IFRS pension account, you would then, in the USGAAP datasource that sits above TOTAL IFRS, remap that amount to the USGAAP account in this way leaving all others the same but just having the USGAAP changes reflected in a total datasource that includes all of your input according to IFRS plus the remaps for USGAAP to give you USGAAP in an alternative hierarchy for exmaple.
    That is how it was done, but i was wondering if there were any other ideas, expecvially if you have more than 2 or 3 GAAPs
    LEt me know if you have other ideas,
    best regards,
    Edwin

    Hello - Using datasource would be a solution based on dimensionality u2013 this makes sense to me.  Other options with dimensionality may include duplicate accounts per GAAP.   I think there many possible ways to use dimensionality to achieve thisu2026.creating new user dim, categories, and surely others.
    Another option would be to look at modeling this in separate applications.
    Maybe using one application as the base then writing to others via destination app/look up type functionality.  You might consider handling different apps per GAAP in the ETL phase.  In modeling I would be hesitant to jump towards separate applications unless the complexity and or data volumes warranted thisu2026..shoot for the most simple elegant design when possible.
    So depending on the complexity of the business case (what type of ASSETS alone could lead to a longer requirement discussion) and the data volumes look decide on the dimensionality vs. application approach.   I would start with dimensional design until my prototype forced me to consider something else.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • Cisco Unified CCX Historical Reports

    Hello,
    Issue: The time showing on the Historical Reports are not correct
    Error message/issue description:
    While  comparing the recorded calls from QM Management Destop system to the reporting system the timings on the historical reports appear to be at least an hour behind. Can these be synced to show the same times
    Thanks !!
    Shridhar Reddy

    Hi Shridhar,
    The time zone displayed in the report is either UTC or local time zone, based on the TIMEZONE settings in hrcconfig.ini. You can also change the time zone for each report as shown in the procedure.
    Note: When a report shows date and time information for an event or an activity in the report data, that date and time is based on the TIMEZONE configuration in hrcconfig.ini.
    The Start and End time is also based on the TIMEZONE configuration in hrcconfig.ini.
    The difference between the server time and the selected time zone is displayed within parentheses beside the Start and End time.
    The report generated time displayed at the bottom of the report is the local time of the HR client machine.
    To change the time zone for a particular report, follow these steps:
    Procedure:
    Step 1: In the Unified CCX Historical Reports main window, choose the report settings that you want.
    Step 2: Choose the Settings menu.
    Note: You notice the check mark beside the Use UTC Time Zone for Reports menu option. This depends on the configuration in hrcconfig.ini.
    If UTC time zone (value 1) is configured, the check mark is displayed. If local time zone (value 0 - Default) is configured, the check mark is not displayed. For more details, refer The hrcConfig.ini Configuration File, page 2-13.
    Step 3Click Use UTC Time Zone for Reports to select or unselect the option manually.
    Please refer the section "The hrcConfig.ini Configuration File" from page 33 onwards in the below link,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_5/user/guide/uccx85hrug.pdf
    TIMEZONE:
    Specifies the time zone that will be displayed in the Unified CCX Historical reports. This value can be preset before you login to Unified CCX Historical Reports client.
    You can also change this value from the Historical Reports client user interface.
    Valid values: 0 and 1
    Value 0 - Historical report will display the time zone of the client’s machine.
    Value 1 - Historical Report will display the UTC - GMT time zone.
    Default value: 0
    Note:The time and date for data in scheduled reports is always the time and date of the Cisco Unified CCX Historical Reporting database which is the UTC time zone.
    Please refer the section "Changing the Time Zone to be Displayed for a Report" from page 142 onwards in the below link to do so,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_5/user/guide/uccx85hrug.pdf

  • UCCX 7.0.1SR5 to 8.0 upgrade while also adding LDAP integration for CUCM - what happens to agents and Historical Reporting data?

    Current State:
    •    I have a customer running CUCM 6.1 and UCCX 7.01SR5.  Currently their CUCM is *NOT* LDAP integrated and using local accounts only.  UCCX is AXL integrated to CUCM as usual and is pulling users from CUCM and using CUCM for login validation for CAD.
    •    The local user accounts in CUCM currently match the naming format in active directory (John Smith in CUCM is jsmith and John Smith is jsmith in AD)
    Goal:
    •    Upgrade software versions and migrate to new hardware for UCCX
    •    LDAP integrate the CUCM users
    Desired Future State and Proposed Upgrade Method
    Using the UCCX Pre Upgrade Tool (PUT), backup the current UCCX 7.01 server.
    Then during a weekend maintenance window……
    •    Upgrade the CUCM cluster from 6.1 to 8.0 in 2 step process
    •    Integrate the CUCM cluster to corporate active directory (LDAP) - sync the same users that were present before, associate with physical phones, select the same ACD/UCCX line under the users settings as before
    •    Then build UCCX 8.0 server on new hardware and stop at the initial setup stage
    •    Restore the data from the UCCX PUT tool
    •    Continue setup per documentation
    At this point does UCCX see these agents as the same as they were before?
    Is the historical reporting data the same with regards to agent John Smith (local CUCM user) from last week and agent John Smith (LDAP imported CUCM user) from this week ?
    I have the feeling that UCCX will see the agents as different almost as if there is a unique identifier that's used in addition to the simple user name.
    We can simplify this question along these lines
    Starting at the beginning with CUCM 6.1 (local users) and UCCX 7.01.  Let's say the customer decided to LDAP integrate the CUCM users and not upgrade any software.
    If I follow the same steps with re-associating the users to devices and selecting the ACD/UCCX extension, what happens?
    I would guess that UCCX would see all the users it knew about get deleted (making them inactive agents) and the see a whole group of new agents get created.
    What would historical reporting show in this case?  A set of old agents and a set of new agents treated differently?
    Has anyone run into this before?
    Is my goal possible while keeping the agent configuration and HR data as it was before?

    I was doing some more research looking at the DB schema for UCCX 8.
    Looking at the Resource table in UCCX, it looks like there is primary key that represents each user.
    My question, is this key replicated from CUCM or created locally when the user is imported into UCCX?
    How does UCCX determine if user account jsmith in CUCM, when it’s a local account, is different than user account jsmith in CUCM that is LDAP imported?
    Would it be possible (with TAC's help most likely) to edit this field back to the previous values so that AQM and historical reporting would think the user accounts are the same?
    Database table name: Resource
    The Unified CCX system creates a new record in the Resource table when the Unified CCX system retrieves agent information from the Unified CM.
    A Resource record contains information about the resource (agent). One such record exists for each active and inactive resource. When a resource is deleted, the old record is flagged as inactive; when a resource is updated, a new record is created and the old one is flagged as inactive.

  • Historical Reporting With Multiple Subject Areas

    Hi All,
    I am working on to decide the best way to create repository. I do have a requirement from my client that they need to see both Current and Historical Reporting via OBIEE. I am keeping Type 2 SCD. My model consists of about 30 fact tables - each of them represents a business process/event.
    Following are my options:
    1) One Subejct Area to keep current/historical reporting. Here the joins would be based on PK/FK relationships with Effective Start and Effective End dates. There is a flag in all tables to find the most updated record. Users can use the flag to find the most updated record or use Effective Start and Effective End dates to go point in time.
    2) Create two Subject Areas - Current and Historical reporting. Current one will include the flag logic to get the most updated record in RPD
    3) Create multiple Subject Areas for each Fact table and use Combining Multiple Subject Area approach to join Subject Areas. Additionally, create one Subject Area for Historical Reporting (that will have all the tables in one SA)
    I am thinking of going ahead with option 3) This will have Subject Areas for all logical facts (for Current reporting) and one Subject Area for Historical reporting.
    Is this a standard design? Any inputs?

    You should try both Complex folders as well as custom folders and see which gives you better performance. Discoverer SQL optimizations for example apply only on Complex folders and not on simple folders.
    If you define the joins between the two tables, you can still use items from them in your Discoverer report without having to create a complex folder on them.
    And finally, you can always create a view or materialized view and use that MV in your Discoverer query.
    thanks

  • Incorrect BEx Report After Hierarchy Change

    Company A belong to a hierarchy during Period 1 u2013 Period 3/2010. However, beginning P4/2010, Company A is no longer placed under this hierarchy.
    When users run Income Statement report using this hierarchy in P6/2010, they are unable to view revenue registered by this company during P1u2013P3/2010 as the company is no longer available in this hierarchy during that period.
    May I know how can we report this missing revenue figures for Company A whenever the report is executed post P4/2010?
    Thanks!

    Hi
    I think you have to maintain the previous hierarchy so that all the GL accounts(chart of accounts - compounded with GL account) related to company A still exist in the hierarchy.
    If there is a complete change in structure of hierarchy, then also add company A related nodes in the new hierarchy for the current financial year since Company A was partially existed in this FY.

  • Hierarchy Changes (Report)

    Hi Gurus,
    We have a report that that gives results according to the hierarchy maintained. Now we have a requirement from the next month onwards, where there has been a slight change in hierarchy. The user wants to look into the results in the report in the new hierarchy from the next month onward. However, they need to have flecibilty that whenever they look data of the current month and months before, they should be able to look into the report according to old hierarchy. How do we achive this?

    Hi SDNBI,
    Sounds like it has to be another report based on a different (slightly changed) Hierarchy.
    If you are using Bex.....
    1) create a workbook and add 2 tabs.
        TAB1:  old report
        TAB2:  new report.
    When you refresh the workbook, you can use the same set of parameters to refresh both the
    workbooks.
    Good luck, BB

  • Verifying data coming from Cisco Unified CCX Historical Reports

    Good afternoon
    I (along with a number of other colleagues) are heavily involved in a project to take data from a wide variety of different sources and merge it all into one system so that we can report on it in a joined-up manner.
    The project comprises a number of different types of data source (such as Telephony or CRM). Within each data source type, we have various suppliers of those products. In the case of telephony data (which I'm looking into at the moment), the eventual aim is to make it possible to take data from any of the telephony platforms in use across our business (currently AVAYA, Alcatel and Cisco) and report on it in a uniform way, thus negating the need for an end-user to know what the Cisco definition of AHT is (for example).
    The switch I'm currently looking at is a managed switch, meaning that we don't have any sort of direct access to the back-end database(s). We could probably get it, but I suspect that the company that manages it for us would probably charge a small fortune for that. In view of this, I'm working with a number of the standard reports in the Cisco Unified CCX system. My plan (at the moment anyway) is to identify the reports that we can use that will best provide details of all calls into and out of our contact centres. I'd be looking to get the exact details of each individual call, which could then be rolled up into manageable intervals (such as 15-minute or 30-minute).
    Before I go much further, I'd like to be clear on something: I'm a database developer rather than a telecoms engineer so if I ask something that appears to be obvious then I apologise in advance. I've got quite a bit of experience of working with the CTI system that sits on top of our AVAYA platform, but it's proving to be a bit of a wrench effectively "un-learning" that system so that I can make room in my head for the Cisco solution.
    So, what I've learned (or have guessed) so far is this:
    When I run the Application Performance Analysis report, the Application Names that are returned are effectively the Call Routes that are set up in the system. Each Call Route can be fed by one or more Called Number (which I understand to essentially be a DDI);
    The Application Summary Analysis report shows the same Application Name information as is shown in the Application Performance Report. However this report also shows the Called Number, thus providing slightly more information about the individual DDI being answered;
    My next plan is to try and run an Agent-level report so that I can see exactly which calls each agent handled. This is where I've run into problems: I ran the CSQ - Agent Summary report for the whole of 17th October. I then ran the Agent Detail report for the same period, and ran it out to CSV so that I could "play" with the data. The CSQ - Agent Summary Report shows that a particular agent on a particular CSQ Name (ID) handled a total of 29 calls. However, if I filter the Agent Detail report for that agent and CSQ, I get a total of 30 calls and for the life of me am unable to identify where the missing call is coming from. Initially I'd thought it might be bacause the CSQ in question has two separate DDIs but as far as I can see, this is making no difference.
    I NEED to be 100% sure that when I'm importing the data from the Cisco reports into our system, I am then able to mimic the types of reports that are coming from Cisco, with the same figures. Therefore, if anyone can help me, I'll be extremely grateful.
    TIA
    Ian Henderson

    The "Cisco Unified CCX Historical Reports Scheduler" sits in my startup folder but seems like it doesn't "run" at startup. So I ran a "test":
    - Manually right-clicked the "Cisco Unified CCX Historical Reports Scheduler" icon in the startup folder and chose "Run as Administrator"
    I didn't log off or reboot PC and the reports are running again. I checked the "properties" of the icon and I did make sure it was already set to "Run this program as an Administrator" under the "Compatibility" tab.
    Not sure why it's not working...
    Thank you for any help you can provide....

  • Sales hierarchy . role based reports and Data access, Best practice and sol

    Dear all,
    Currently working on a solution for Sales. There a geography and sales position hierarchy.
    e.g. (USA,EU,ASIA) --> EU head -->UK head -->Northern UK head -->London head -->East london--> Postal codes in east london.
    so altogether 7 roles and 7 positions, all these users can see data at it's level and below.
    Also the summary report/ Prompts/ subject area columns for each of these users must be at their corresponding level and just 1 level below.
    e.g. EU head by default must see column EU and country UK, UK head will see report only for UK and Northern UK region and so on.
    After lots of thinking i am planing to take approach of creating 6 sets of similar dashboard/ different prompts/ different global filters/ reports.
    Data level access is not at all issue i am easily able to manage.
    Request experts to guide is there is any other better approach to take for objects in catalog.?
    many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Yogen

    Dear Srini,
    Data level Security is not at all issue for me. Have already implement it and so far not a single bug in testing is caught.
    It's about object level security and that too for 6 different types of user demanding different reports i.e. columns and detailed drill downs are different.
    Again these 6 types of users can be read only users or power users (who can do ad hoc analysis) may be BICONSUMER and BIAUTHOR.
    so need help regarding that...as we have to take decision soon.
    thanks,

  • How do i change a user password for historical reports?

    I had to change a users extension and she is not able to connect to historical reports.  I keep getting an error message that her user id or password is incorrect.  Checked user id which is correct and user is using the same password she used before the change.  Is there a way i can reset the password the user enters to log into historical reports?

    If you are not integrated with an external LDAP, you change the user's password in CUCM End User configuration; otherwise, the passwords can be managed in LDAP.

  • Filtering data in historic report instances

    My goal is to filter data in a managed report instance without refreshing it.  But I am having issues even viewing an instance.  I am using Crystal Reports 2008 Server and the RAS API.  Code below displays reports fine (i.e. SI_INSTANCE=0) but not report instances (i.e. SI_INSTANCE=1).
    Approach 1, Use reportSource from PSReportFactory:
    //Here is my query:
    String reportQuery = "SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS " + "WHERE SI_NAME = '" + report.getName() +
                  "' AND SI_KIND = '" + CeKind.CRYSTAL_REPORT + "' AND SI_INSTANCE = 1";
    // Here I grab the latest report instance
    IInfoObjects reports = iStore.query(reportQuery);
    IInfoObject oInfoObject = (IInfoObject) reports.get(0);
    IReportSourceFactory factoryPS = (IReportSourceFactory)es.getService("PSReportFactory");
    Object reportSource = factoryPS.openReportSource((oInfoObject), getLocale());
    // Here I prep and attempt to display
    viewer.setReportSource( reportSource );
    viewer.setDatabaseLogonInfos( newDBConnectionInfos() );
    viewer.setEnableLogonPrompt( false );
    viewer.setBestFitPage(true);
    viewer.setOwnPage(false);
    viewer.processHttpRequest();
    processHttpRequest above throws:

    // Same query as above:
    String reportQuery = "SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS " + "WHERE SI_NAME = '" + report.getName() +
                  "' AND SI_KIND = '" + CeKind.CRYSTAL_REPORT + "' AND SI_INSTANCE = 1";
    // Here I grab the latest report instance
    IInfoObjects reports = iStore.query(reportQuery);
    IInfoObject oInfoObject = (IInfoObject) reports.get(0);
    IReportAppFactory raf = (IReportAppFactory)es.getService("RASReportFactory");
    ReportClientDocument rcd = raf.openDocument(oInfoObject, OpenReportOptions._openAsReadOnly, getLocale());
    // Here I prep and attempt to display
    viewer.setReportSource(rcd.getReportSource());
    This approach throws an exception from
    raf.openDocument()
    with error:
    Cannot open report document. --- Item SI_NEWOBJECT was not found in the collection.
    Of these approaches I prefer the second as I can potentially filter the data.
    Any ideas or help greatly appreciated as I am new to crystal reports.

    Good call Ted, and thanks for the reply!  I had a bunch of Failed instances and it was choking on a failed one.
    Now that I have identified a successful instance, I'm having trouble displaying the historical report data.
    When I attempt to display using the PSReportFactory, from first approach above, it displays the report but I
    don't get historic data, i.e. it is refreshing from the database.  Of course historic data display works in the
    CMC so I'm sure it must be possible.  How can I get the viewer to show the data as it was when the report
    was run?
    Also, using the preferred RASReportFactory, from second approach, I get the following exception:
    ReportSDKServerException: Failed to retrieve initial report values. For example, the database information for this report could be incomplete or
    incorrect. This is a configuration problem. Please contact your system administrator.---- Error code:-2147467259 Error code name:failed
    This seems odd as I am passing the database logon infos to the viewer, and it works the other way:
    viewer.setDatabaseLogonInfos( newDBConnectionInfos() );
    viewer.setEnableLogonPrompt( false );
    Any ideas about how I can get it to work this way?
    Thanks,
    --Jeff.

  • Cisco Historical Report no displays data after an CCX update

    Hi team.
    I have an issue with the Cisco Historical Report.
    On December 14 we performed a version update of UCCX:
    New Version 8.5.1.11004-25
    Old Version 8.5.1.10000-37
    Now I am informed by the Call Center Supervisor can not generate reports in the CHR with dates before 14 December.
    When you request a report, for example, the 1st to March 31, 2012, the error "No report data to display the specified date range." (See attached image Cisco Historical Report (4). JPG).
    When asked the same report, but from the 1st to 31 January 2013, the report is generated successfully and the Supervisor can see the data.
    Anyone have idea why this happens?. You should not miss the update data to make and less with the UCCX server restart. Or can it?.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards.
