History palette question

If I refine a tif (selective noise reduction, edge sharpening, localized color saturation or desaturation for example), then save as jpg, the history palette appears to lose the record of my work on the tif prior to saving as jpg. When someone opens the jpg, can they view the steps I took to modify the tif prior to saving to a new file type (usually jpg in my case)?

You can sent them or give them access to your log files with a network share. Again the log files are only for referencing you can do do anything with then. ACR Raw setting are a ACR thing not part of Photoshop history. Your ACR setting for your RAW file are save in many places. Other users can see the setting the ACR setting you use in your image files metadata if you do not strip the meta data. Use Photoshop menu File>Info the use the RAW TAB. like this

  • Tools Palette question

This is driving me absolutely batty.
Somehow someone changed a setting on my computer so that every time i click on a tool in my palette, all of the tool options pop open forcing me to choose which tool I would like to use.   It is as if, by default, it is right clicking on the tool, when I do not have my mouse set up for right click capability.
I looked in EVERY possible window, palette, tool option, preference, everything and I can not for the life of me find the option to turn that off.
    Help!!
This may be a dumb question, but its making me crazy!

On my system it now behaves the same way as you have descibed. A single click automatically opens the RANGE of tools available under that tool bar item. CS3 and CS4 and they both seem to behave the same way. I do seem to remember, could be wrong, that at some point in the past you would have to  HOLD the tool down to get the options. Thats why I asked if you had an older version.
As someone who uses keyboard shortcuts, I don't often find myself accessing the tool bar at all. Isn't it something you can learn to live with?
forcing me to choose which tool I would like to use.
No it doesn't FORCE you - a single click will access the last used tool - you are using a mac.

  • Palette question

Ok, this is one more of those basic skills that I've never mastered. What is the best way to add the drivers to the instr. lib? After extracting the files from the zip file I've got a set of drivers in .llb and the .mnu files in a directory (see the attached folder view) and I can't get them to show up correctly within the functions palette. All I get is the top level icon for the instrument but all of the subpalettes are icons with question marks.
    Help!

    Hi denslen,
I was able to download a similar chr6320x driver, run the setup.exe, let the NI Installer use its recommended settings, and view the driver in my functions palette. I didn't actively extract any files or move them around.
Try running the setup.exe that you can download from the NI website, then search your functions palette for chr6320x. Any of the installed VIs will show up there.

  • Appearance Palette question

I am absolutely sure that I am doing something wrong here, but please bear with me – I am new to the Appearance palette
See screen shot attached. (the text "Helvetica")
I have created some live text (ie: it remains editable)
I have given it a fill of black and a heavy (7pt) stroke of blue.
I cannot appear to rearrange the stroke so that it falls beneath the fill
I assumed it would simply be question of dragging it below, as one would with the Layers
However, when I converted the text to outlines (in this case the text "UNIVERS") it works.
And also why are the eyes in the first coloumn grayed out when the text is live.
But not so when text is outlined?
Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?

To enable what you want to do you will need to explore the Add New Stroke and Add New Fill in the Apperance panel. The easiest way to do what you want is to select the text and in the Appearance panel choose Add New Stroke. Click-hold on that row in the Appearance panel and drag in below the line that says Contents. You can also play with removing the fill at the character level entirely and then with the Add New Fill you can use a pattern fill for the letters. Remenber that the stroke will be half hidden by the fill.

  • Can i enlarge the fonts in the history palette or info palette?

    Hi
is there a tweak to enlarge fonts in the histrory palette or info palette in photoshop cs3?
    thanks

Dude, I really hate to bust your stones, but do you explore Photoshop at all on your own accord, or do you post here with every question that comes to mind?
    <br />
<br />Open your Photoshop preferences and see the following (click on the image for full size). If the choices available don't work for you, then you need to either get some glasses, or post a note in the Feature Request section for a broader range of UI font size control.

  • Delete SharePoint Workflow History List Questions

I found the code below here :
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/79aa3bd4-d334-4614-9304-15998a95aefb/delete-list-with-43-million-items-workflow-history-list?forum=sharepointadminprevious
I originally had 81K items in the workflow history list..Dating back to a year ago, which obviously didn't need to be saved in the workflow history list. And we all know Workflows start to have issues when this WF History list get a lot of items in it.
my questions are now that I have it cleaned up...
I have workflows that trigger 30 days prior to when an item expires.  so for example if an item expires 12-15-15, the workflow sends an email 11-15-15.  but these expiration dates can be at any time of the year. for example lets say the
item was entered on  2-2-15 with expire date of 12-15-15 -  workflow is now  triggered so that emails would be send in 11-15-15 ....
So if I delete the workflow history list item will it affect the workflow waiting to be triggered?
Is there a way with the code below to capture workflows that have completed, error'd out, or failed to start?
As I figure those would be safe to delete if deleting items from the workflow history list affects workflows waiting to be triggered?
or would it be possible for the code below to be modified  to delete based on either ID of list item and or date range??
like  say  delete  completed workflows at 100 items every thirty days?
but I can not have a current waiting workflow to trigger & history beaffected by the workflow history list delete.

    Hi Cowboy,
Per my knowledge, if we delete the workflow history list items, it will not affect the workflows waiting to be triggered.
However, if you go to the workflow status page, the history will be empty as the events
have been deleted in workflow history list.
The code in your post will delete 2000 items in workflow history list.
As there is no status for the items in workflow history list, so I recommend to use the date as the query condition.
For example, if you want to delete items created between 2015-02-01 and 2015-02-16, then you can change the query as below in your code:
    $query="<Where><And><Geq><FieldRef Name='Created'/><Value Type='DateTime'>2015-02-01T00:00:00Z</Value></Geq><Leq><FieldRef Name='Created' /><Value Type='DateTime'>2015-02-01T00:00:00Z</Value></Leq></And> </Where>"
    $spQuery=$query

  • Undo History box (question)

In PSE9 on my MAC I tick the undo history to show it down the right and when I shut PSE9 it stays on teh desktop and I need to tick it every time I open PSE. I'd just like to tick and have it there always... oh and not get it left behind on my destop.

I've done it ! I have effects / content showing, followed by Layers/undo history and finally adjustments. I'd not come out of the box to think laterally! It was a simeple case of reducing the size of teh layers box to allow Undo to fit properly. By resizing the boxes Elements now opens and closes exactly as it used to. Phew. Thank you everyone.
Barbara, I'm one of your wee fans, following pretty much all you mention regarding elements

  • Recent History / log question

I am mostly a novice w/computers. Recently some strange things have been occurring. 1st clue was when online, my curser started to move around (I know remote to my office moves my curser at office, so I know someone had remoted to my MAC) while I was using, network settings changed, but not passwords. On a whim checked recent items and there was a server showing up that I did not recognize. I do occasionally work from home, using a remote website to my corp desktop. The server in recent history is not the remote server I use for work. I am connected to a modem / wireless connection at home. Frankly I think I know who the server belongs to and why it may be there, but I am not sure how long this person has been "remoting" in to my computer. Won't go into the history, but surfice to say, this person has worked for IT support for quite a few years, and of course they mainly service MAC's. Also would like to find out what they are accessing and/or "mirroring". I have done some basic research and frankly do not know if I am even looking for the correct software to find, track, ect this hacker. Any direction on how I narrow down when, what, where I can look on computer to document this and also what soft would work best to help in this search and stop it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! TY :~

    Thx lan,
I guess that feature on my want list

  • Actions palette question

Hi all! This might seem petty, but I'm curious. When I run an action in Illustrator CS4, the action palette item "shows itself." i.e., normally, I have all my actions so that only the name of the action appears (the arrow to the left is pointing to the right). But when I run the action, the arrow points down, revealing all the steps in the action. I have a lot of actions, so if I run them, it either takes up a lot of space on my desktop or I continuously have to scroll up and down to find the action I'm looking for because they are all showing all their steps.
Is there a way to stop it from showing all the steps? I don't want to see the steps when I run the actions.
    Thanks!
    Julie

    Julie,
Yes, the action "showing itself" behavior is very annoying, and I'm pretty sure that it has been requested that it be fixed.
Another way to get around this is to assign F-Keys to your actions. You have up to 48 combinations available: F1 thru F12; alone, with command key, with shift key, and with both. (F13, F14, and F15 don't work)
If you have the entire Action SET closed, you can use the F-Keys to run the actions without the palette "exploding" open on you.
By the way, you can also close all the revealed actions in a set at once if you hold down the option key while closing the set. You may have to do it twice.

  • Nudge on my history palette is registering every individual nudge instead of the entire sequence of nudges.

Every nudge that I make, let it be a 1px nudge, 10px, or a hold-down nudge, registers as a single individual nudges instead of one single Nudge sequence.
This makes it difficult to return to a previous state, and also taking up large portions of my history. In addition to the Hold-down Nudge, not only does it register as multiple nudges, but its sometimes 2-4 nudges from one hold-down nudge.
I am on a Mac currently running the latest Photoshop CC (2014.2.1) and have noticed this happening on my colleagues' computer as well, but not on everyones. I can't tell if this is a glitch or a new feature.
If anyone has been having this problem or has a solution please let me know. It is very annoying and making me Free Transform everytime I just want to move something.
    Thanks!

Doesn't seem to happen here with mac os x 10.10.1 and photoshop cc 2014.2.1
See if resetting the photoshop preferences makes any difference
    To reset the preferences
Press and hold down the Shift+Command+Option keys while starting photoshop cc 2014
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop settings file
    Press Yes

  • Blackberry Messenger - Chat history request question

    Hi
I am a first timer on here, so please be gentle.
My daughter uses BBM quite a bit, but has recently been acussed of being involved in something silly.  I have checked the chat history settings, but they are turned off.  So I have now turned them back on to save to the device.  However, I want to know how I can go about requesting a history of conversations.  Can I do this through Blackberry or through the phone network provider?
I would be really grateful if someone could assist please.
    Many thanks

Found a solution in another forum!!
    * For Whatsapp:
in Whatsapp's Settings, disable saving the chat history.
Connect your phone to your PC as USB unit. From the PC go to the SD Card and in the "databases" folder delete the Whatsapp folder.
Then eject and unplug your phone, go to whatsapp and enable chat history again. It should work!!
    * For BBM and Windows Live:
in BBM and Windows Live Settings, disable saving the chat history.
Connect your phone to your PC as USB unit. From the PC go to the SD Card and in Blackberry/im delete the "history" folder in both BBM and Windows Live.
Then eject and unplug your phone, enable chat history again. It should work!!
If BBM doesn't work, connect your phone again and create yourself the folder "history". I'm sure Windows Live creates it again but not too sure about BBM.
Hope it solves your problem as it solved mine!!

  • CUOM 9.0 History event question

    Hi everyone,
We have a solution with a Cisco Operation Manager 9.0 integrated with Service Monitor 9.0
Operation Manager generate several data for different purpose like Total call Success, Total Call Failed, Not answered, Phone registered, DSP porcentage for every specific Gateway and so long.
The goal is to check the past data for reference and detect behaviors around 6 months or 1 year.
Is it possible to save data more than 72 hours?
PD:  Some informations (not all) are saved in NMSROOT\data\gsu\_#GSUDATA#_ directory. How is possible to see the data in a graphic mode for range more than 72 hours?

  • Group folders, in the layers palette question

Love groups, but i feel like i'm always closing them, hitting the little triangle to open, but more importantly -  (before i close a layered doc,) to close / minimise them.
I wondered if there's a quick way to close all open groups, alt clicking on one, might close them all for example.
    Any clues anyone?
Hope it's clear what i'm asking.
    Alex

Holding down Crtl+Alt (Command+Option on a mac) while clicking the Arrow beside the folder icon in the layers panel toggles open/closing the layer groups.
You have to use the arrow on one of the main groups and not on any of the nested groups in order for all groups to open/close

  • Component Palette question

I want to create a folder to put all of my .gif files in under my WEB CONTENT folder, does anyone have any suggestions

Go into the file sytstem and create an images directory under your project's public_html directory.
Then in JDeveloper go into project properties->Content->Resources and add this directory.

    Hi....
Noob to PSE forums. Had an old copy of CS2, used Elements 7 on my daughter's computer, and just recently grabbed Elements 8.

I need to have my editing steps recorded for a competition website where I participate, and I can't seem to figure out how it's done.
    TIA
    Jeb

I'm looking to pull the info out of the file info selection in the main menu where it has the tabs for the EXIF info.
For whatever reason, the history tab is blank. It did bring up the history palette, and the steps are duly recorded, but how does that get into the file info tab?
File>File info>History is the one I'm looking at.....
