There's no reply for the following msg... i need help.... is this a bug in JDeveloper?

i have been waiting for the reply for the past 4 days, so
Is anyone having suggestion, whether it will work or not? is there any additional feature for this? Every project is multilingual, not only my project, every project is supporting internationalization, so at design time it should support for resource bundle usage. am using Jdev 9.0.5 version, client side we are using swing, so i need a solution for this, does jdev supports this? if so whats d way? if it is not supporting y cant it be considered as a bug? it should be user friendly, so y this can be added as a new feature in the forthcoming version,

not sure why you hope that this is a bug?
Swing does support internationalization and JDeveloper supoorts this. However, as usual in Swing, you have to develop it as tehre is no automated way for doing this.
There is some help provided by ADF in that e..g. BC4J supports message bundles for translating Strings.

The following is the situation.Am having a problem in using resource bundle. If am adding a Component(Say JButton) in jdeveloper using uieditor, if am specifying the text for JButton using resource bundle, the jbutton is visible in uieditor but the text on jbutton is not visible. its saying 'cannot create live instance for resource bundle', this is applicable to any component. Can anyone help me in this?Have anyone tried this,pls post ur ideas regarding this. this will b more useful for me and also for u all.... Thanks its rendering it in the runtime. The string is taken from the '.properties' file using Resource Bundle for ur reply, ofcourse... thats y its unable to create live instance to render it in design time.. am using Jdeveloper 9.0.5, The following is the code am using...
Example:
ResourceBundle jACResources = ResourceBundle.getBundle("Resources", Locale.English);
public JButton Link_id = new JButton(jACResources.getString("link_id"));
the string is taken from 'Resources.properties' file
so, now it shows in runtime and but unable to render it in design time... can u provide a solution for this,

Hi all,
i don't know if any body noticed this, when i do simple editing to the sampler insterment editor (exs24) i got a window ask me if i want to save changes ofcourse i say yes but then i got onther window open with folder and ask me to save as !!! why do i have to name and save every little changes to a folder???? this is time consuming
logic 5 or 6 was automaticly saving changes.
any idea guy's

As far as I was told, if you edit any of EXS24's default instruments (the ones that originally came with it) - when trying to save it - Logic will ask to save it into a different location. It happens because the original instruments cannot be modified nor overwritten. It is a protective measure.
Also: if you try to edit the instrument files or the folder they are placed "~/library/application support/logic/sampler instruments" (for instance: if you try to copy or delete them or change their location), the system will ask you for the administrator's password.
However you may save your own samples and instruments directly (no 'save as') as long as they are not placed in the above folder ("sampler instruments").
You may find more about EXS24 folder's hierarchy in the Plug In Reference Manual - under the EXS24's chapter.

Hey everyone, I think I've had some success with my time changing issues. I originally posted this to another user as a follow up to her question, but I'm reposting it here. Hope it helps:

So i went to the apple store to meet with an apple genius to ask him why my phone's time kept moving up 1 hour everytime I synced my phone. Well he said that he's never seen this problem before, and after a trying a reset and restore he let me exchange my phone. The problem is that when I went to sync my new phone the problem still persisted. They told me it was probably something to do with my computer and its time zone settings.
So I get home and click on my computers clock in the bottom right hand corner to bring up the date and time properties and sure enought my time is correct, the date is correct and the time zone is correct (Eastern Daylight Time). So I look through the different tabs (Date & Time, Time Zone, Internet Time). The first thing I tried to do was to change where my computer syncs its internet time. It was originaly set on NIST time. I then switched it to Windows time, but this didn't do anything. My clock would still change when I synced to itunes. The next thing I tried was fideling around in the Time Zone tabs. I noticed that the box that says "Automatically adjust clock for daylight savings" was unchecked, so I checked it and my computer's time jumped an hour ahead. So I left the box checked but moved my clock one hour back (to the correct time), clicked on apply and left it at that. I synced my iPhone and voila! The time didn't change! It stayed on the correct time! To to make a long story short, make sure that you computer's clock is set on "automatically adjust clock for daylight savings changes, make sure your time zone is correct, and that the time is right when that box is checked. I hope this helps you. I'm glad I got a new phone out of the deal;)

As I mentioned in my post, whenever I checked that box the time would be incorrect. It would move up an hour. I've messed with this along time ago, way before I got my iphone. I think this had something to do with the daylight savings change that was implemented this year or last year. I dont remember if I never tried correcting it before, or if I couldn't, but this time I didn't have any problems correcting it. Anyway, since I couldn't correct it back then, I just left the box uncheck and decided that I would change the time manually when the next time change occurs. But it seems to work fine now so all is well.

I am using Jdeveloper 11g (11.1.2.1.0). I am using employee table. In my EO for HIREDATE attribute, I am choosing default value radio button SQL; entered valid SQL statement (Ex. Select Sysdate from dual). As soon as I save, the HIREDATE column becoming Transient. It is not allowing the attribute to Persistent. Is this a Bug.

Sounds to me like you may have gotten a machine with hardware issues, but it's hard to say. It will shut down if it gets too hot, but that's not a normal occurrence. I have never seen a MacBook Pro shut down due to heat, even after lengthy 3D gaming sessions where the fans are running fast and the bottom of the machine is unpleasant to touch.
First thing I would try to do is reset the SMC. If that doesn't help, erase the hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch, which you should always do with a used machine anyway.
If a fresh system doesn't help, you'll need to get it checked out by Apple.
Edit: Oh, and sig is absolutely right... please don't post in all caps! It's very irritating.

thanks for your response roaminggnome. I changed my password immediately after it happened and I have contacted i tunes to let them know of this dillemma.
The I-tunes credit was a promotional thing by Apple to buy their laptop. So I didn't pay for the i-tunes credit in the first place. Do you think my bank will be able to reinburse Itunes credit then? I will ask support when they get back to me.

First off, Apple you suck. I've wasted countless hours trying to figure this thing out. There's nothing like your OS failing to load after you install that piece of s itunes and then once you get it to load your computer won't recognize your dern ipod. All the while the wife and kids are hollering at you to get it done. I like you had many problems getting my ipod shuffle to work properly. I finally got a very helpful apple tech guy to help me, and now it works. Here's what we did (these are instructions for windows xp machines):
1. Go to apple.com/ipod/download, and download the latest software updater 2005 - 11 - 25.
2. Once downloaded, install the software updater.
3. Restart machine, with the ipod inserted in the USB port, power setting to OFF position.
4. Once cpu is restarted, go to Start -->ipod-->ipod software updater.
5. Click on "Restore" when the ipod updater window invites you to.
6. Once finished, disconnect Ipod, and turn the power switch to one of the "on" positions (it doesn't matter which).
7. Green light should come on and turn off. Turn off power switch a second time and wait 10 seconds.
8. Insert ipod back into USB port; it should automatically start itunes, which should then offer to setup your ipod.
9. It will automatically begin downloading all songs from your itunes library onto the ipod. WHen complete, you can disconnect ipod, and hopefully the thing will work.
NB: unlike other mp3 players, you MUST use itunes to download your music onto the ipod. you cannot click and drag music using windows.

I hope this helps someone. After using online support twice, 2 trips to the Apple Store, talking on the phone with Apple care, and requesting a replacement, I finally got my son's Shuffle working. Both my children received Shuffles for Christmas. I had no problem getting my daughter's to work. When I plugged in my son's it opened iTunes, but the amber light blinked continuously and the iPod would not show up in iTunes.
Here's what I finally figured out:
My computer is connected to a network drive at my place of employment. Someone in my IT department notified me that a folder called iPod_Control was on the network drive and it showed me as the owner. I disconnected the mapped network drive from my computer and that solved the problem. That iPod will not work when my computer is connected to the network although the other iPod works just fine. Very strange...

In short, our MacBooks or MacBook Pro's showing that we were fully connected to a network but unable to get on the internet. I'm by no means a tech expert, but I just got BOTH my MacBook and MacBook Pro working. I sure hope this helps at least a few of you b/c this has been a MAJOR pain for me and it is definitely isolated to the MacBooks. I've got three other Macs and they've never had this issue. Here's all I did:
I unplugged and actually reset the wireless router by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds. Powered it back up.
Came back to my computers and once again the signal strength showed I was fully connected. Still no internet though. So...I clicked on the Airport signal strength icon in the upper tool bar. To restate, this already showed that I was connected at full strength but I had no internet. Anyway, I clicked "Other" or "Join Other Network" in the drop down list. In the next pop-up window, I entered the "new" network name. I even just used the exact same network name over again. My particular network used a WEP password, so I put the original WEP password in, clicked OK and bam!...Without even rebooting the computers, the internet is working like a charm on both MacBooks.

I, like many others, like to update the first opportunity I can. My experiences are probably similar to others.
I started the update to my iPad and experienced problems? The reason for the question mark is as follows.
The system said that I needed to do a restore before the update. I cancelled that and proceeded to doi a backup. The backup ran 6.5 hours. Long but complete. I let it run overnight. I started the upgrade and the system was updated after 1.5 hours and proceeded to do a backup. When ready to restore from I had a new empty backup. I call Apple and related what had happened, they told me to do a clean restore and create it as if it was a new iPad. Did that and still did not have my iPad back. The informed me that I had to restore from a backup and I wasn't sure which one because the old backup overwrites the previous backup. I finally found the right backup and it took another 6.5 hours to recover after several attempts when I thought it was locked up. It finally recovered and I have my iPad back.
I decided to update my wife's and had similar problems. Took 2 days.
The bottom line is, backup before updating because there is no recovery without it besides mannually restoring the apps and settings. Step 2, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! Wait for the system to backup and wait for the restore from backup to finish. Even though the system is unresponsive and iTune reports to be non-responsive it it every so slowly doing something. To find out, open the Activity Monitor under Utilities on the iMac, highlight the iTunes application and select the Inspect button in the upper left. You will see some activity and this is proof enough that something is happening ever so slowley.

Beewacker is correct. Plugging the iPad into a system with iPhone installed will in fact auto launch both iTunes and iPhoto.
I am sorry to hear you where having so many issues with your iPad, I had the opposite experience. No issues whatsoever. Do you plug your iPad into your PC on a regular basis?
I do it about once a week to make sure I get a good backup. More backups more often seems to mean less time needed for the backup.
I do have the ABC News app installed, but it has never shown how many records or updates it has.
I wish I knew what was causing others to have these incredible backup times. I have never seen anything remotely close to that and my iPad is a 64GB one that is nearly fully loaded.

WS-I Tools - Major Bug in JDeveloper 11g

I've tried tro run the WS-I analyzer from JDeveloper (11.1.1 - 2 - 3 ) but have the following error:
An error occcured when writing the temporaryWS-I Analyzer configuration file
After spending couple of hours and finally gave up, and I believe this is a big BUGGGGGGGGGGGGGG in 11g JDeveloper , no log no clue.
I tried the same in 10.1.3.4 and it works just fine, I followed the following instructions, for both versions.

Hi, I am using Oracle supplied HR schema, table EMPLOYEES. I created EO on EMPLOYEES table. All the attributes show correctly as Persistent first.
Under Default Value section, I selected Radio Button "SQL" and entered valid Sql statement, Hit save button. I moved to next attribute, then I see. The previous attribute for which I entered Sql statement as default value, turned to Transient. But this is a Persistent attribute. It is not allowing me to change it back to Persistent.
Hope the above steps will help to reproduce the bug in your system.

When i try to set the databse columns on entity level he's building the query wrongly in the view object it's a BIG BUG in JDeveloper!
He's building the SQL Query statement wrong:

I didn't realize JDeveloper was a 'he'! I was able to change the attribute name from empno to Employee_Name in the attribute settings for the app module. I then built a BC4J application and when I run the JSP, the column is showing as 'Employee_Name'. Additionally, I was able to create a data tag in a JSP that refers to the attribute as such:
<jbo:ShowValue datasource="dsemp" dataitem="Employee_Number" ></jbo:ShowValue>
In both cases, the query is built correctly. Is this what you were trying to do? If so, please reply with your steps and I'll see if I can help further.

Hi Gurus,
I am currently working on Oracle Forms 10g Release 1.
I would like to learn Jdeveloper and ADF by inititally installing them on my PC look into it.
1. In that case what should I install on my PC??
2. Can you please suggest me some online materials to learn both Jdeveloper and ADF.
3. Also please suggest me some Good Books which I can buy to learn both Jdeveloper and ADF.
4. Is knowledge of java required to work on both these technologies?

4. I would say you need some java required to work on these technologies.

Is this a known bug? OOME because of MBeanServerConnection addListener

I use a JMXConnector to monitor different processes. For each MBean (which is
also a NotificationBroadcaster)registered in the monitored process a listener
is added by the monitoring process.
Now the problem is that I'm not able to remove this listener when the MBean is
removed by the monitored process. After a long time this causes the monitored
process to crash by a "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space".
The analysis shows that the ObjectNames added by the listener are never gc'ed.
They are held by ServerNotifForwarder's listenerMap. The OOME is in the PermGen
because of the String.intern done by setCanonicalName of ObjectName.

I'm the OP, but I never had 49,998 posts!
When I had this problem I created a bug report. But this report was never visible in the sun bug database. Half a year later an employee of oracle created a bug report about this problem and it got solved immediately. A big company like oracle which is about to buy your own employer may help ;-)
Today I don't find neither my bug report nor the other one. But the bug should be solved in the latest 1.6 release and I hope in 1.7 as well.
Our work-around was to close the connection at the server-side periodically (once a day) and reestablish the it from scratch.

Hope this is a bug in JDeveloper....... help needed....
