Hourglass continuous for hours after update

I updated my blackberry tour to the 5.0 version i believe through the wireless update. After the update was installed or so i think i returned to my phone to it playing the hourglass constantly and nothing for about 5 hours now. What do i do?? Thanks in advance.

It actually can be fixed.  The problem though is that the steps required use programs that are not created by RIM and they can be a bit intimidating.
Generally speaking though, if it doesn't work and the phone is still under warranty, the easiest option is to let the carrier deal with it.  If the phone is no longer under warranty though, there are definitely ways to fix the problem.

Firstly I updated my ipad into ios7 and after watching the video by Apple, iWork, pages and numbers are free for download after updating iOS 7. How can I download iWork pages and number for free? Please help me.

stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work.

  • HT201210 been trying to restore ipod touch for days after updating itunes. keep getting error #9. Tried it on 2 computers, with vista + XP. tried all the solutions posted. nothing is working. Thanks Apple. Didn't have this problem before updating itunes!

Been trying to restore Ipod touch for days after updating Itunes. Error code #9. Stuck on restore screen. Tried all the solutions posted. Tried on 2 computers, Vista + XP. No device shown on computer. Thanks Apple! Didn't have this problem before update. How about rolling back your update?

    Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if you manually disconnect the device during the restore process. You can resolve this issue by using USB troubleshooting, using a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

  • Logic pro crashes / freezes after running about a hour after updating

    Hope anyone can help me.
    I use G5 powermac.
Had 10.3.x running with Pro6 with no problems (because of that I'm a big mac fan
I updated to Pro7.2.x and also to OSX 10.4.8 when the problem started
It's a strange problem, it seems something happens in my computer after a period of time.
Logic is always crashing / freezes after working with it for about 1 hour (not sure exact time). When I just leave my mac on for the same period of time not running logic and start up Logic later it also freezes imidiately. But only logicpro seems to have this problem. All other programs working well.
I need to restart my computer to start working again and then again after a period logic crashes again. I also installed logic express but express works well.
I already reinstalled everything a few times and also working with just the basic (no plugs, interal audio, no hardware, no extra memory ect.) didn't help. I did changed discdrives, internal memory ect.
Hope anyone has an idea what it can be
    Thanks for helping

  • Getting iWork apps back for free after updating to ios8

After updating to ios8 I lost all of my iWork apps. Now I have to pay money to get them back. I got them for free after buying the iPad mini retina last year and do not understand why now I have to pay money to get those back. I looked at the purchased section in the apps store but they don't show up there even if I had those apps before my iOS 8 update. Can somebody help me out with this? And am I missing something?

  • I cannot power charge for iP4s after update iOs 8

    I have used iPhone 4s 16GB after I update iOs7 I cannot charge  battery.
I cannot charge power when iP running , I have to close iP then plug adapter ,the power in.
The staff of iStudio recommend me to update iOs 8  but I cannot charge iP by adapter after update iOs8.
Now I can charge by USB via my computer but iTune cannot connect with my device.
    Could you have any recommendation?

Same here. Issue is on both Apple TV's and iphone. Resetting everything did not fix the issue. Rebooting modem did not fix the issue. PLEASE FIX NOW. Take the thousands of dollars I've spent on movies, music & hardware and at least update the services page to accurately show that iTunes Store is indeed having issues! Thanks!

  • Battery only lasts for about 7 hours after Update to IOS 4.2.1

    Hello folks,
after I have updated my Iphone 3G to the newest firmware (4.2.1) may battery only lasts for about 7hrs in standby-mode (no tethering, umts, wifi, whatsoever), while it has been much much better before.
Does anyone of you have the problem or a solution for it?
    Thanks,
    Alex

I'm happy to tell you that the problem, at least for myself, is gone. I checked around on the forum and apparently it could be so that something went wrong when updating to 4.2.1 so restoring the phone from itunes could be the fix. I did so and the problems seams to be solved.

please the screen of my iphone 4s has been off for 14hours though the phone is on and calls come through. And i'm not able to answer these calls cos the screen is not responding. please what can i do to get my display back. Thanks

    try a hard reset
hold down the home button and the power button at the same time until u see an apple.
if u never see the apple even after holding those buttons down for a while u will need to restore the iphone's software using itunes on a computer.

  • Problem with mail for exchange after update on E72...

    Hi everyone,
I updated Nokia E-mail to ver 3.9 on E72. Now I am facing  a problem with mail for exchange. I have configured gmail on mail for exchange. I recieve a warning that "unable to sync contact administrator if problem persist". It started to pop up just after the update was over and is very frustrating. Even previously i used to recieve mails instantly but now it generally takes half an hour for me to recieve them. I deleted and created mail for exchange several times but to no avail.
Also i am not able to automatically recieve mails other emails which i have configured. every time I have to manually download them everytime.
Can anybody suggest a way out.
    Thanks
    Anil

It could be a problem if you're using your network's connections...
I was on a Pay & Go tariff with o2 some time ago, and needed secure connections for various things, o2 told me they didn't provide secure connections on Pay & Go tariffs...
Could be worth checking with them to make sure it's supported.

  • My iPhone will not recognize other iPhones for iMessage after updating to ios 6.  Any suggestions?

I updated my phone last week and after the update was finished I noticed I could not initiate an iMessage conversation with other iPhone users who I had always been able to use iMessage with.  If I begin the conversation it sends as a regular SMS message and after the other iPhone user responds it allows me to use iMessage.  I have toggled the iMessage switch on and off, signed out and back in on my apple I.D., as well as resorting to restoring my phone, still nothing.  Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

    What happens when you try?
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Problem for Restoring after Updating to iOS5

I saw on the phone, it stated updated completed for iOS5 BUT on the iTunes still updating.. so i pluck out and see but the phone installed back ALL my unwanted apps again and therefore I plug in to iTunes again thinking that i can sync to my previous setting...  the sync process got hang and so I clicked on the restore button and NOW... all my SMS text messages and other bookmarks all gone... managed to sync back contacts...
    Anyonne can help??

Just throwing in my 2¢, I'm having the same problem. For what it's worth, I noticed previously that even when the iPad said 'Not Charging' (while it was plugged in to my PC, for example) it WAS charging, albeit slowly. This was prior to OS5. Now I'm noticing it in places I wasn't seeing it before the recent OS update, like at virtually all of the charging 'stations' scattered around our house (we're a multi-I device family!)   Before the update, I could plug the iPad in and recharge it from about 20% or slightly less all the way to 100% in about 6 hours overnight. After the update, 5.5 hours took me from 14% to 54%.
Apple, your "solution" is only a different flavor of problem. You need to do better than this.

  • Iphone 5 restoring for hours after sleep/wake button repair

Got my iPhone 5 back from Apple store after repairing the sleep/wake button - restoring from backup is taking hours ... it's been almost 24 hours, phone has been plugged in and connected to WiFi. Any suggestions? Appreciate the help!

    Hi seattlesunshine,
Although you don't say you are getting a specific error when restoring, I would suggest the steps in this article:
Resolve iOS update and restore errors in iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275
Implied in step 4 is try restoring with your iPhone directly connected to the computer (with iTunes) rather than over Wi-Fi.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

  • Continued auto-installs after updating firmware

I've recently updated the firmware on my N80 to the new V4.0632 version (Internet Edition).
Previously I had many apps installed to a memory card.
Since doing this, every time I boot up the system automatically attempts to reinstall some applications. Clearly it is trying to fixup apps that were previously on the memory card.
    - Some apps just worked after restore
    - other apps were broken -- they appeared installed but did not work, so I manually reinstalled & now they're working again
But there are also entries like (from memory) A123456 in the application manager list as "not installed". I assume it is these that are being attempted. Yet searching the memory card for .sis .sisx files (and even jar/jad) is fruitless. Additionally the app manager won't let you DELETE or even find out the file in question.
How do I fix/clean this up other than reformatting the memory card?
BTW I really like the new FW - the internet phone integration is super.

Yeah! I have another way out :try to remeber what were the applications y installed, den re-install em which happened a lot to my N91. Anyway, after upgraded to N80 IE.I think y have no important things on yr phone memory. Then Y format em both.

  • IOS7 set access code for IPad4 after update.

Why do I suddenly have an access code for my IPad4 after the ios7 update? I didn´t have an access code before, and I haven´t set one either. My wife says she hasen´t used the ipad since yesterday.  I can access the ipad through Itunes on my Macbook, but I can´t reset the ipad because I need to turn off the "icloud search" in the ipad settings (which I can´t access because I don´t know the access code).
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
