How do I burn a BDMV Folder onto a Blu-Ray Disc on my Mac os 10.8.3?

How can I burn a BDMV Folder to a Blur-Ray Disc on my Mac osx?
Do I need 3rd Party Software? If so, which one?
I built it in Encore CS 5
Thanks.

Mac OS 10.8.3

Hi John,
I'm having a little problem.
I have Toast 11 which burns ISO and BDMV folders. I would like to use ISO files for burning. Heres the problem.
In Encore it says I have 4 GB available on the disc. I went and exported an ISP file onto one of my Hard Drives and it came out to be 25.75 GB. Way over what Encore was saying.
I have a 2 and a half hour project as my main timeline and 9 menus.
When it transcodes as it's making the ISO file, does my 2 and a half hour timeline get bigger in file size?
Should I change the transcode settings in Encore for that Video file before I make it an ISO file?
Or should I re-encode my wedding (which is on a Premiere Pro CS 5.5 timeline) but set my Target and Max Bit Rates lower this time around knowing it will be bigger after I make the ISO File?
Thanks in adavnce for all of your help.

  • If there ever was a NEW update for iMovie, will iMovie have the ability to burn projects onto a Blu-Ray disc so that customers don't have to pay for additional software like Final Cut Pro or Roxio Toast Titanium/Pro?

It would be helpful for those who are familier with iMovie to use Blu-Ray discs for burning and playing back their iMovie projects in HD. However, iMovie '11 doesn't have that special feature yet. I hear that 'Final Cut Pro X,' 'Roxio Toast 11 Titanium' and 'Roxio Toast 11 Pro' can copy projects like iMovie onto Blu-Ray, but it would take long periods of time to do that. Professional software, like FCP X and Toast, can be pricey.
I'm hoping that iMovie '11 will burn projects onto Blu-Ray, but will that ever come true?

Will iBlu-Ray be an upgrade? OR and update of iDVD?
If it's an upgrade, then that means you'd still pay for it from the Mac App Store. I wish it would only cost between $20-40.
If it's a free update of iDVD, but with the new name, that would be better than to go out and pay for things!!!
However, external Blu-ray recorders would still be required if you were going to burn an iMovie project onto a blu-ray disc.
Is there a way to put in a request for 'iBlu-Ray?'

  • Is it possible to burn a slide show onto a Blu-ray DVD ?

Using PS8 Premier I could't burn my slide show ( no movies ) with music onto a Blu-ray DVD. The problem seems to be......low memory. ( my computer has 2 Gig but my project which doesn't seem that involved has over 4 or 5 Gig ). The reason I want to burn onto Blu-ray is to get a clearer project than I was able to on a regular DVD. I get a good slide show on my cpu monitor and also on a regular DVD in the smaller screen of the burner program but the project loses resolution when going to full screen. That is why I wanna try it on Blu-ray.

If you are going to BD, then I would start with a BD Preset. This ARTICLE will tell you the supported Frame Sizes, and FPS.
I would choose the 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 FPS Interlaced (NTSC), or 25 FPS Interlaced (PAL). I would then go to my original stills and Scale them to ~ 1920 x 1080 in PS/PSE. This ARTICLE will give you tips on doing that with automation in either image editing program. Import those Scaled Images into PrE, with the Duration that you feel is correct, depending on the "flow" of the SlideShow. Note: you can tweak that Duration for each Image, if needed, but by planning a bit, most will not need any tweaking. Then, add any Pans, or Zooms (Effect>Motion>Scale, and/or Motion>Position). Add any Transitions desired, and edit any Audio. Add the desired BD Menus and Chapter Markers (no Stop Marker at the end of the Timeline). This Project should burn to BD easily.
Good luck, and hope that it helps,
    Hunt
Note: in the first linked article, you will see that 20 FPS is not supported, and neither is 1 FPS. You can, of course, make the Duration of each Image 1 Frame, but will probably want the Image on-screen for longer, say 5 - 10 secs.

    You cannot use DVD SP to burn a Blu-Ray disc. But you can use the latest version of FCP to create Blu-Ray discs. There is a tutorial here;

  • How to burn LOTS of SD footage to Blu-ray disc?

I've got about 17 hours of youth soccer games in SD that I'd rather put on 2 Blu-rays than 8 or 9 DVDs.
PE8's Blu-ray presets are all for Hi-def or close to it. I would assume PE10's presets are similar, no?
blu-ray.com and PE10's Help page both say BD can hold 10 hours of SD video, which is why I'm holding out hope that software exists to put it there...
    Ideas?

It appears you can do it with DVD Architect Studio ($39 from Sony), but you've got to have the file properties set up for BluRay disc media and standard resolution MPEG.
This type of disc will not, of course, play on a DVD player. You'll need to play it on a BluRay player that, hopefully, will recognize it as DVD files burned to a BluRay disc.
This is not how the media is designed to be used, so it might be worth doing a test run to see if it works at all before you invest hours of work and transcoding into it.

    Thanks for the reply.
    Part 1.
    1. Task Manager/Process. If you are seeing the following processes with Premiere Elements 10 closed, then Task Manager/Processes and End Task for each of these processes
    that you are seeing there
    a. Adobe QT32 Server.exe
    and
    b. Elements Auto Analyser.exe
    Part 2.
    a. Open Premiere Elements 10 to the Timeline workspace, go to Help Menu/Deactivate and click on Deactivate. Close out of there.
    b. Then, uninstall Premiere Elements 10 via the usual Control Panel route.
    c. Do a run through with the free ccleaner (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts).
    CCleaner - Download
    d. Reinstall Premiere Elements 10 with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
    Part 3. ccleaner details.
Cleaner part. This is straight forward. Click on the Cleaner Tab in the left column of the ccleaner dialog and then click on Run Cleaner in the section of the dialog to the right.
Registry part. Click on the Registry Tab in the left column of the ccleaner dialog. Then click on Scan for Issues in the section of the dialog to the right.
After the "Scan for Issues" is completed, you will then see an active "Fix Selected Issues" to the right of "Scan for Issues".
    Click on "Fix Selected Issues".
At this point, you will see a pop up dialog
Click Yes to that message and continue to Save the registry backup file to your computer hard drive location of your choice.
Follow the on screen instructions after the save of the registry back up file.
    Part 3.
The critical part is that you obtain the Premiere Elements 10 installation files. You already have the purchased serial number. So you should be OK on the serial number side of things.
Download and install the Premiere Elements 10 tryout files appropriate to your computer from the following web site. It is critical that you read and care out word for word the web page's write up for "Note: Very Important Instructions" and use its click "here" as instructed. Otherwise you will get an excess denied message.
Photoshop Elements 10 Direct Download Links: Free Trials, Premiere | ProDesignTools
During the installation of these files to your computer, when asked for, insert your purchased serial number into them.
Make sure that antivirus and firewall(s) are disabled for the download and install.
Comments. There are no guarantees that this will resolve the "No Media Present" for Premiere Elements 10 burn to AVCHD on DVD and Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc. In the end, you may have to look at external burners until you find one that works for you for these burn to choices.
Did any of your computer pre-loaded software come with backup installation files? I suspect not.
Please review the above and then let us know if you need clarification on any of the above. You might want to give more consideration to exploring the external burner possible solution.
    Thanks.

  • How do i burn an iPhoto slideshow onto a DVD?

how do I burn an iphoto slideshow onto a DVD? and a blueraycompatable DVD?

Export the slideshow from iPhoto, that makes a movie of it.
Do you want to use this DVD in a domestic DVD player? If so, then the disk will have to be 'authored' to make it the correct form for that. If you have iDVD then that's the app you use. However, iDVD is no longer developed or distributed by Apple. You may be able to get it on an old iLIfe install disk.
    Other options:
    Burn: http://macupdate.com/app/mac/21992/burn
    Toast: http://macupdate.com/app/mac/6351/toast-titanium
But there are lots of others too. Search on the App Store or MacUpdate
As for Bluray you'll need an app (and a burner) that can create that format.
Search on the App Store or MacUpdate

  • How to burn blu ray disc with H264 files and ac3 files?

    Hello,
I have tried many times to burn a bluray disc with FCP and compressor and they always end up not successful. After spending days on testing different settings, I finally managed to only get it to work if I tried
    1) outputting to Hard drive as opposed to burn to bluray
    2) Turning the default bit rate down from 35Mbits to between 15-19Mbits.
Then I used either disk utility or toast to burn the disc image onto the Bluray disc.
I have however on a recent job forgotten to switch the setting on compressor to output to harddisk and instead set it to burn to Blu-ray. Big mistake. Again I end up with a h264 file and an ac3 file, and nothing I can do with them after 24 hours of rendering. Oddly, the compressor says "successful" but nothing is created but that 2 files.
My question is (before I restart the whole 24hr rendering process again) - is there anyone who can help me use the .264 file and the ac3 file and create the blu-ray disc with the menus again without having to re-render all over again? I have not been able to find anyone to provide me with a solution or find any where online that helps with that.
    Desperately ...
    Yee-wei

    Hello,
Sorry but the instructions in the manual (online and offline) do not answer my question. Yes I do have a bluray burner, it is a matsushita BD-MLT SW-5584. I wrote in my post that when I set it to output to HardDrive, it will create a dmg file nicely for me to burn using disk utility or toast.
But when set it to burn to Bluray disc, nothing gets done. I just want to find out, with the h264 file and the ac3 file that gets created in the process of creating the dmg file, can I still burn the disc or create a dmg file from them without having to re-render the whole thing again.
Maybe you never tried burning a Blu-ray disc with FCP or compressor before. Let me explain how it works. When you submit the project to process, it will create 2 files - 1 ac3 audio file and a .264 file. After that 2 files are rendered (which takes 24hrs for my 2hr 30min HD clip), it will use that 2 files to create your Bluray disc or your dmg file. Problem occurs when it doesn't burn the disc and you are left with just the 2 files that cannot be used to burn the project again. My question is : is there anyone who knows how to set the compressor to see that the 2 files are already created and just continue to create a dmg file?
Hope my question is clearer now.

  • Adobe Premier Elements 12 - Exporting trimmed AVCHD files from the project timeline, to a separate folder for burning to Blu Ray disc with other software?

Hi, can anyone help please.  This is the first time I have used this forum.
I use Premier Elements 12, a PC, 64 Bit, Windows 7, high powered computer.
Just started trimming AVCHD in this software.
I would like to know if it is possible to export trimmed AVCHD files to a folder elsewhere (files which were originally imported into the project timeline), so that I can burn the trimmed AVCHD files (not in 'Project' form)  to Blu Ray disc (using another software which I know that works to burn video files to Blu Ray disc).

    Kathy
Thanks for the update. Your progress sounds very good.
Premiere Elements 11, 12, and 13 are similar. But, version 13 has significant feature removals and a new Elements Organizer.
So, when viewing or reading tutorials, try to determine the version of the program being used for the tutorials. As I typically write
principles tend to remain the same from version to version, but the features tend to move, change, or be discontinued from version
to version. And, it is frustrating to be armed with principles when you cannot find a feature.

  • How do I burn a Blu-Ray disc with menus?

I have a 38 minute project comprised mostly of HD clips (.m2ts, .MP4 and a few .MPG). I try to render the project to Blu-Ray with Premiere Elements 12, it takes approximately an hour to reach 98% with message "Encoding Media", then switches to "Compiling Media" and freezes there (I let it go for 6 hours with no end in sight). Task Manager shows that it is not using any CPU cycles anymore, while it was using up to 96% of the CPU before it reached that point. I've been able to render this project to a DVD, to Folders on my HDD and to AVCHD successfully on a DVD.
For a test, I tried a 1 minute project with the same results. It wasn't until I removed the disc menu that I was able to burn a Blu-Ray disc. I am running project on a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, an AMD Athlon II x4 635 Processor, 2900 Mhz, 4 cores, 4 logical processors with 4 GB of RAM. I have found a number of references to the 98% completion but no real solutions. Any assistance would be appreciated as I would like to produce a high definition disc with menus...

ATR and jerry9146, thanks for the replies. I am using version 12 of Premiere and, when I attempt to update, it tells me that I have the latest version. I am fairly new to Premiere although I have used other video software before. My motherboard supports up to 16 GB (4 slots) so I could try increasing the memory which would probably speed up the rendering process. I'm not so sure that not having enough memory would prevent it from completing the rendering process but who knows. Task Manager shows CPU usage in the high 90% and shows physical memory in the mid 50% during the rendering process...
My software always finds the media and lets me know if I have the wrong disc in (I had inadvertently inserted a DVD instead). I have tried both H.264 1440x1080i NTSC Dolby and H.264 1920x1080i NTSC Dolby. It does not have a choice for 1080p full HD.
I always cancel out of the Windows popup asking "How do you want to use this disc?" as I assume that Premiere will let the system know. Is that correct?
The movie menu that I chose for this project is a fairly simple one, Faux Widescreen from the General category. It contains 1 main menu and 3 scene menu pages containing a total of 17 scene markers which I inserted myself with Add Marker.
I had already taken out the Stop marker as I had read that it doesn't work for Blu-Ray anyways (and thought that that might have been the culprit). Spacing is good and there is no button overlap.
jerry9146, I have successfully burned an AVCHD file to a DVD thru Premiere and the quality is pretty good. Does the workaround that you suggest produce a Blu-Ray quality file?

  • No option to select Blu-Ray folder as source when trying to burn to Blu-ray disc

    Hello,
I've created a project at home that I want to put on Blu-Ray. At home I don't have a Blu-Ray burner so I created a Blu-Ray Folder in Encore and brought over to a friends house to burn using Encore. But in Encore it doesn't have the option to select Blu-Ray Folder as a Source, only current project or disc image. I know when doing this with a DVD it gives the option for current project, disc image AND DVD folder. Why not for Blu-Ray? Anything I can do with out having to redo as a Blu-Ray disc image? Thank you

Can't speak for Blu-ray, but with DVD, it is very important that the disc be burned as "DVD Video". For instance in Windows, if you simply drag the VIDEO_TS folder to a blank disc and burn as "Data", it is not going to play in most DVD players.
A computer will usually recognize the content of the disc as being DVD material and will likely play it. But DVD players are expecting a disc formatted a certain way, which a data disc is NOT, and therefore will not play the "data" disc.
A lot of the newer DVD players will play more types of media, such as MP3 and stuff, so possibly more of them would now recognize a VIDEO_TS folder on a data disc, but to do it right, you must burn as a DVD Video.
Most disc burning software will offer options of "DATA" or "DVD VIDEO" because there IS a difference in track layout, and there is special info written to disc that identifies it as a "DVD" also.
In the case of creating a Disc Image, or .iso file, from Encore, then that is a "snapshot" of the DVD with all the right stuff in place, so any software that can use an .iso will make a proper DVD. But again, you cannot just burn the .iso file straight to a disc as data, the software must be capable of creating a disc from an Image.
    Hope this makes sense
    Thanks
