It's been requested before. Unfortunately, it's not possible in the current version.

You only remove bookmarks if you delete bookmarks in a smart folder. If you delete that folder then you delete the smart bookmark and not the bookmarks in the list. A smart bookmark is a query and the result of the query is shown as the content of such a folder. A long as such a gives a result then you see content in the folder, so the only way not to see those bookmarks is to remove the smart bookmark.

  • How do I clear a list of usernames which is automatically offered when I login to a site.

For example, if I want to sign into gmail, it asks for the username. As soon as I type in the first letter, it gives me a selection which it stored. Once I made a mistake and typed my password in there which also begins with the same letter. How do I clear the list? Actually, how can I set Firefox so that it doesn't automatically store that information.

Password Manager deals only with passwords. The problem described above is about the User Name. I tried the Shift+Delete tactic, and it worked! Be sure to follow instructions in the link provided in the solution: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Deleting_autocomplete_entries

    Hardly a recent number

Yeah that info will certainly carry over form the backup, but once you delete it from recents, it shouldn't show up anymore.

  • How to Clear "recent" listing in new Acrobat X Pro

In new Acrobat X Pro, when I open this program a window appears listing "recent" files that I have previously opened.
I cannot clear this "recent" listing. I have deleted some of those files, and do not want them to appear in this window anymore.
I cannot find any option to clear this damn listing. Only option I found was to reduce this listing from the default 5 to 1. Zero is unavailable.
The crude way I found was to delete this registry listing:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles
I cannot believe that Adobe will design and release a brand new version with such poor design.
If you do know how, maybe I am blind and cannot find this elusive option, please post it here so we all can learn.
But if I am really correct and there is no option, Adobe MUST fix this oversight ASAP.
    Thank you for helping.

George, you almost have it, as my method here is more efficient:
All you need to do is save the following 2 lines as ClearAcrobatRecent.REG
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles]
    IMPORTANT:
Copy and paste the above 2 lines in Notepad, then save as "ClearAcrobatRecent.REG"
Note the - to the left of HKEY, which denotes "remove" from the Registry.
Then run this reg file whenever you need to clear your recent files that appear when you open Acrobat.
My method is easier and better because it does not rely on the number of "recent" files, as all will be cleared.
Of course, "cRecentFiles" entry will be deleted in the registry as well, but it will safely be recreated once you open a file in Acrobat.
Until Adobe adds this important and useful option in the next Acrobat X update this is the only practical way to clear "recent files".
    Good luck and enjoy.

  • How do I clear recent searches from Safari?

When I type www in the search bar of safari, a list of address that I visited before will disappear. How do I clear this recent searches from Safari?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply!
Yes! I already turn off the autofill. But the list still come out when I typing in the search bar.

    Hi Kenny,
Re: Turning off autofill in the
    address field...
The alternative to that is to clear your history and
clean up your bookmarks to remove any entries that
you no longer use (Safari uses both to check for url
    autofill items).

  • Clear Recent list

I use acrobat reader on my iPad since Nov. 2013.
During the version updates, the "Recent" list is the most bothersome.
At first it won't show up when I need it, then it won't go away, but at least it makes sense:
If I move pdfs to cloud.arcobat.com then delete them from the cloud, the file names are cleared from the list.
But after the recent update, 'if' above do not apply any more:
The (re)moved pdf names are cleared once the upload is done locally, (the names are still there with clouded marks are tagged on the far right).
and the MOST CREEPY part is I still can open the DELETED (clouded) pdfs and pick up reading from the last time
even if I sign out/in multiple times, where are the files from??????????
BTW, in 'Recents' screen, there is not any action button on the PDF reader for iPad, how can I intentionally clear the Recent list?
Is this a bug or a feature? Why I cannot look it up on the HELP?

If you have a PDF document that is locally stored on your iPad/iPhone, it will appear in the Documents section of the File Browser in the Reader home screen.
Once you upload/save the PDF document to Acrobat.com (cloud storage), the local PDF document still appears in the Documents section, and the uploaded PDF document appears in the Acrobat.com section.  Therefore, you now have two copies of the PDF document: the one on your iPad/iPhone and the other one on Acrobat.com (cloud storage)
Even if you delete the local PDF document that appears in the Documents section, the one on Acrobat.com (cloud storage) is still intact (i.e. not deleted).
When you go to the Recents section, you will see the PDF document that is stored on Acrobat.com with the "Cloud" icon.
Because it is not the local PDF document that you have deleted, you can still access the other copy from Acrobat.com.
    In the Recents section
Your PDF documents on Acrobat.com (cloud storage) are displayed with the Cloud icon.
Your local PDF documents (stored only on your iPad/iPhone) are displayed without the Cloud icon.
Please let us know if this is not the case that you have experienced.

  • How Do I Clear Recents On iChat?

How do I clear the recents that show up when I right click on the iChat icon? I recently viewed a couple of iChat logs and now when I right click on the iChat icon in my dock, they are listed there. How do I make it so that they don't show? Please refer to screen shot if I'm unclear.

    Hi,
    There is another way.
System Preferences > Appearance pane (Or General if using Lion)
Reduce the number of Documents to zero  (this will apply to All Apps)
At least this way if an older chat appears in the list you can reduces it to make it disappear without losing all in the list.
(it does not come back if you reset the setting).

  • How do I clear "Recents" from my iPhone?

I have iOS 8.1.1. on my iphone 5C.  When I double-click on the home button, a list of recent contacts--from phone, message, facetime--shows up at the top.  While that's a "nice to have," I might not want to see that--nor have an e-trail for snooping others to peruse.  The problem is, while I can clear recents in the apps, the list still persists when I double-click the home button.  How do I clear this or submit a request to add a clearing feature to the settings?

While I can appreciate the ability to "hide" this information, it does not preclude the iOS-savvy snooper from turning it back on.  What I want to do is to clear that history.
What snooper, enable a passcode lock on your phone.
If you turn that feature off, no recent will show when you double tap the home button.

  • How do I clear the list of uploaded files when done?

I use Firefox to upload my Sheet Music to my Ipad by putting in the IP Address of my Ipad and sending wirelessly. I now have to scroll down several screens to add the next song to transmit. I would like to clear the list.
Using windows 8.1 (Ugh!), on HP Envy Intel I7. (Not sure if I should upgrade to Windows 10. Had awful time switching from XP to 8.1.....Can't find anything! ;-(

This is an open page in Firefox just like you have been surfing, only it is Severak pages of all ,the files you have uploaded to another computer. In this case an IPad. You type in the IP address and connect; like to your printer, etc. I even removed Fireox yesterday, rebooted and then re installed Firefox. When I typed in the web address or IP address up came the list of all the files! Really confusing as to how to clear it. Sorry you couldn't help.

  • How can I clear the list of previously downloaded apps?

There are apps I tried, but really don't like.  How can I clear them from the list of previously downloaded apps?

At the moment you can't delete or hide any of your past purchases/downloads from the list. Whether we will be able to in future nobody on here will know. You can try leaving feedback for Apple : http://www.apple.com/feedback

The only way to do that is to restore the phone as new (not from a back up). There is a workaround to get the numbers from appearing by setting up a new contact with a nonesense name that you would never type and assign the number to that contact. Bit of a kludge but it seems to be sufficient for some people.
You may also want to submit feedback to Apple requesting that the add the same delete capabilities they've recently added for Mail.

  • How do i clear recent item list?

It is surprising that i am not able to clear the recent item list. If there is a quick way to do it, please let me know.

    There is a C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 x64\utils\CleanPreferencesWin.bat
    This clears everything nicely.

  • How do I clear the list under "Recent Places"?

    Hi -
    I'm running OS 10.2
Under 'Recent Items' there is a category called documents and one called Applications. Both of these can be controlled using System Preferences.
But if I have a file and go to 'Save As', I also see a list called 'Recent Places' by clicking on the double up/down arrow. Where do I control and/or delete those? Right now they show a list of folders that are on a removable drive even though the drive is not plugged in. All I get are error messages because the Mac can't find the folder...logical, because the folder only exists on the removable drive.
    Thanks.

You might check in several places:
    /Home/Library/Favorites/
/Home/Library/Recent Places/ (if the folder exists this is what you want.)
