How do I download OS X Lion faster? I have been trying to download for the past 36 hours without success.
When I tried to download and install Lion using the App Store, I found that it would just HANG when I entered my Apple ID, and would never start the download. It was never getting past the login. I searched the forums and found other people with the same problem but no solutions.
In troubleshooting it myself, I stumbled across something that worked for me. I wanted to just make sure I had the right password and that my Apple ID was still working, not disabled, so I logged in with my apple ID on iTunes. It worked so I then went to the App Store and logged in again.
Once I did that, the download started and finished the way I expected. Over verizon FIOS, the download took me about 40 minutes, and then the install took 30 minutes after that.
So, if it is hanging and never really starting the download, try logging in to iTunes first, then the app store. It might work for you too.

Sorry to hear that, it does seem to be stateside where the problems are (been to Vancouver, great City by the way ) Here I downloaded ML at 8pm last night with no issues. I didn't click the main banner I clicked Mountain Lion under I think it was productivity, not sure if that made any difference though tbh. Its worth the wait, runs beautifully so far on my Mid 2011 i7 iMac. If you can maybe try taking your Mac to an Apple store and see if they have better bandwidth for the download.

I downloaded ICloud and IOS5 yesterday afternoon and it has been backing up/syncing to IPAD since 7:30 PM (over 18 hours). Is this usual or is there a problem with what it is doing. Should I stop the backup and start over or just let it keep going? I have WiFi, 3G through Verizon and it is rather slow. I am afraid that it might be using up all my available data allowance and is going to create a huge phone bill. Can anyone advise me as to what I should do? Has anyone had this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, LucyYou are downloading the update to iOS 5 and that would have to be done within iTunes on your computer using a WiFi network. The 3G service on the iPad is not being used for this or are you downloading some way that I've never heard of?
There is no way that it should take 18 hours so something has gone wrong. What stage are you stuck at? What does the iTunes progress bar indicate? -

For the past few hours I have been trying to download ios 7.0.4 from itunes onto my iPhone after trying many times it would give me a error saying network failed! then i tried to download Ios 7.0.4 manually and then put it on but it keeps failing? i have tried everything that i have came across and nothing seems to work please help!
I venture to say you have a Windows PC.
If so, before beginning the download try temporarily disabling your antivirus, anti-adware, anti-spyware, and any other anti-whatever that is required with the insecure OS your computer is running. -
Hi I already used apple's link to remove u2's free album from my account but it has still been on my phone for the past few weeks. Can anyone help me? I can't swipe-delete because I have never downloaded it.

While downloading the latest IOS update to my iPhone 4S, my phone went into a frozen state with the update 2/3's complete. It's remained like this for the past 12 hours. I can't turn the phone off, and I can't connect it to iTunes. Anyone know what to do?
If the place of purchase does not have a 'Lemon' policy (three replacements = refund or complete exchange), sadly you are out of luck.
And Apple themselves do not have any power over what policy a reseller uses. You can call Apple Care and have them replace it, but the odds are you would probably get a standard replacement again like has previously happened. I'm pretty sure Apple holds their own sort of 'Lemon' polocy where if it's been replaced three times through them they'll swap it out for a brand new phone. Not 100% sure though, best bet is too call them again.
And it ***** getting a response like that from their support personel, but hey, they can't all be that bad can they? I'm sure if you plead your case they'll try and help out. I've dealt with them in the past and had one or two people that rubbed me the wrong way, but most of them have been a great help and kept me a happy customer, haha.

I've been using Aperture now for several months without any issues except for the last couple of days...when I now download my shots from the memory card the photos are heavily pixelated and blurry but when loaded to iPhoto they are fine.
Can someone tell me what the problem could be and how to fix it.Is Aperture doing any processing? ("Window→Show Activity" -- anything there?)
Are the Images pixilated/degraded when shown in the Viewer as well as in the Browser? (Double-click an Image to open it in the Viewer.)
How 'bout at 100%? (In the Viewer, press "z" to zoom to 100%. The "z" key toggles the zoom.)
Does generating a new Preview remove the pixilation? (Select an Image in the Browser, hold down "{Option}" and click "Photos→Generate Preview".) -
I had my I phone 4s replaced today at the Apple store. I previously backed it up on ICloud. I'm downloading from ICloud to the new phone. The pictures have been stuck on number 215 for an hour now. I've turned the phone off and on several times, but it won't progress in downloading the pictures. This happened the last time the phone was replaced and there was something I could do to get things moving, but I don't remember what?
Then you'll have to decide when you think it's hung and unlikely to restart. At that point, you'll probably have to reset it (by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release) and try restoring the backup again.
The only "solution" I've seen posted on photos that fail to restore from a backup that seems to have worked for others, is the on posted by ezjules here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589. If you restore the backup again, you could give it a try and see if it works for you. -
My daughter is downloading apps and games and isn't being prompted for a password.
If it's on the iPod Touch then depending upon what version of iOS that you have on it then you might have a Settings > General > Restrictions > Require Password option that can be set to 'Immediately' - the default is a 15 minute period during which it doesn't need re-entering. You should also be able to turn off in-app purchases via the Restrictions screen, and you can hide the App Store app ('Installing Apps' 'off').
