How do I install SAP BPC client.

Hi,
I installed SAP BPC 7.0 succefully.
I did diaognize on server managerment and there are no errors.
I am trying download the client from http:
localhost\osoft and I get the error as
THE XML PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED..
cannot view XML INPUT USING XSL STULE SHEET.PLEASE CORRECT the error...
the name was start with an invalid character.error processing 'http://localhost/osoft/. line1 position2..

Did you check if you installed every prerequisites on the server?
I particularly think about Anti-Cross scripting library (page 33 of the installation guide), and those kind of tools.

Questions on Installing SAP BPC NW 7 SP2

Hi Friends,
My company is Installing SAP BPC NW 7 SP2 and I am heading the project starting from 1st June. I have downloaded the Installation guide and still have few questions
1) On which client we deploy BPC server component, I mean on 000 or any other.
2) Initially we are doing on Sandbox, so we are using only one system for both ABAP and NET servers and we are using 64bit machine. How do I run 1.1 Net framework on it, I have read installation guide it says configure to WOW6432 but dont know how to do it
3) When we download the ABAP server component what format will it be .SAR or .CAR or any other

Hello Bobby,
1. You will install the BPC server component with SAINT, which has to be executed in client 000, but BPC will actually run in the client you designate for BW.
2. The following article discusses configuring ASP.NET 1.1 to run in 32 bit mode on a 64 bit system [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894435]
3. The ABAP server component will be a SAR file.

Installing SAP BPC 7.0 FOR MICROSOFT on VM (60 GB) Disk Space- Test

All,
We are on SAP BPC 5.0 Sp10 and we are planning to upgrade SAP BPC 7.0 Microsoft in next year. We have one VM server which has 60 GB Disk. We are wondering that can we install SAP BPC 7.0 on it.
As per SAP installation guide , it is clearly mentioned that we should have 200GB Space to install it. Installation guide talks about real time system since we are building up a test system for a small team which consists of only 6 people.
Any body have installed SAP BPC 7.0 Microsoft this way or Can any body verify it will installed and work successfully ?
Also share, what is the minimum disk space requirement to install SAP BPC 7.0 Microsoft.

Not sure where you are getting the 200 gig requirements, but on the Microsoft install guide, it states less than that. See section 3 of the install guide (check on your server requirements). I have attached the link for your convenience.

As for minimum, I am not sure any qualified installer will quote you a number without going through all of the requirements.. Typically, they would assess the requirements and then come up with a "recommended" space amount and number of servers. This would factor into number of users, number of applications/appsets, data volume, page caching, planning or consolidations (or both), etc.
After sitting through a few 7.0 Microsoft installations, I think 60 gigs VM should be more than sufficient to be installed for "testing" purpose. As stated above, some folks have been use single server 20 gig vm partition for their "sandbox". Keep in mind that the performance will be a little bit slower than install on actual server so any bench mark that you're trying to assess may be a little bit off. In addition, when upgrading from 5.1 to 7.0M make sure to add the property "ISBEGINNING" with value of 10 to the Time Dimension.
As for deciding whether to go with NW or MS, I think the deciding factor would be data volume, and number dimensions that you would need to maintain on your appset, and desire to have integration with SAP components.

Bunch of ERRORS after installing SAP BPC 5.1 for the first time

Hi guys
Our basis guy is installing SAP BPC 5.1 for the first time. After the installation, I can get into SAP BPC - Administration screen but I get a lot of errors when I try to do some changes. Some of them are -
1. Whenever I try getting into the SAP BPC administration I get the following error. But when I click OK it gets me to the administration screen but after that Hell breaks loose
    Error on uncompressing file: Error : ActiveX component can't create object.
2. Create dimensions -
    Split File Error
3. Delete dimensions -
   OLAPConnect Error - The Database with ID = 'ApShell' doesn't exist in the collection
4. BPC for Excel (I am logging in as a system admin)
    The dimension information file cannot be created. There may be a network or security issue.
    Error Message: InitCatalog:Either the user does not have access to the ApShell database, or the database does not exist.
I am sure I will get a lot of errors once I start playing with the configuration.

1. copy file "XceedZip.dll" into the directory SAP BPC
2. register that file into the register window using sintaks: "regsvr32"
3. If the successfully message box appears, You should open the MS.Excel or SAP BPC administration

Preinstall check failed - Unable to install SAP HANA Client

Hi all,
Recently I had to format my system and after loading the Windows 8 I downloaded the SAP HANA Client, SAP HANA Studio and SAP HANA JDBC Drivers for re-distribution from https://hanadeveditionsapicl.hana.ondemand.com/hanadevedition/ into the default folder which is C:Programfiles:SAP HANA Client and Studio
I installed the client and then the studio and then clicked on the executable ngdbc.jar file and clicked on ok.
Then I went to SAP HANA 70 client win32 folder and clicked on the hdbsetup to load client. I am getting the following error:
Preinstall check failed
SDB::Install::System::getMountPointWin: Malformed file path normalization: "ngdbc.jar"
Can any one please explain what this error is and how do I fix this error. I searched in the forum but could not find anything related to this error.

I am posting the results of my issues here, to be sure this is documented.
Close all applications
Uninstall SAP/b1 and all related components
Delete folder X:\Program Files\sap
Delete folder X:\Program Files (x86)\sap
Open REGEDIT and clean out all parent keys where "HANA" appears
Install the SAP/b1 client first!
Run the HANA Client installation "...as Administrator"
When the installation runs, it should default to "Install new"
Make sure you set/select the folder path properly to show X:\Program Files\sap\hdbclient
Once the clean-up was finished and the install was restarted, it installed without any issues.

Automate template download for SAP BPC client rollout

Hi Experts
Is it possible to automate the downloading of the template and dimension files automatically using a client deployment tool such as Symantec Altiris. We will be deploying to over 3000 clients in a staged approach, but due to the strict bandwidth polices of the client, they want to know if it is possible push down the Outlooksoft folder as well, when installing the client. So that when the client is launched for the first time, it doesnu2019t have to download all of the template files.
Because of the bandwidth policies this needs to be done. CITRIX and Terminal Services is not an option at this stage.
How does the client check that all of the files are downloaded, Does the AppInfo.xml file have any influence in this process check, and what parameter does this check?

Hi Daniel,
Appinfo.xml has importance but also some registry key from HKEY_CURRENTUSER-Software-VB&VBA Program settings- Outlooksoft.
BPC is doing comparation between the version from key registry and version from server and if this doesn't match then the info necessary for client like Templates and Dimensions are downloaded.
In your case you would liek to minimize the amount of data download.
That's means you have to keep at minimum the templates download into client.
So the tempates store into Wizard folders for each application must be redouce as much as possible.
Only these templates are download into client side.
The rest of templates are used direct from server and are download only when the users are using it.

Error installing SAP B1 Client on Windows 7

after having installed by mistake a PL not supported on Windows 7 , i have uninstalled B1 Client , and reinstall after updating the server ( 2007 / SP01 /PL07 ) .
i managed to install , but B1 is unable to connect to SAP Server . when i click "change company" on the first screen ,i saw only "MSQL" in the list box , and no MSSQL2005 . when i try to "Change Server" , and after "OK" , server is not updated in the main screen , and i have the following message in the log :
"Error renaming SQL driver to MSI executable"

Install SAP Oracle cliente Sw in a Win64 Bit+sql DB+ Kernel 6.2+BW 3.1 Ver

Hello,
I am trying to find for a while the SAP software that will allow a plataform Win 64 Bit + DB MsSQL+ Kernel 6.20+ BW 3.1 SW installed to make possible by a transaction in BW SAP Logon GUI execute a connection to a Oracle 9i Database external to the BW machine and Software.
The "dbcon" transaction cannot be the one used but the "rsa1" transaction with the configuration of the BD Oracle entry in the tnsnames.ora file existing in the machine where BW is running.
I've download the ORACLE 9i 64 Bit Client from the Oracle site but I still need to install a software that should be a library/Dll wich will allow the SAP kernel 6.20 to interface with the BW software.
Could anyone help me and indicate where in the SAP Service Market Place is this SAP Oracle 9i Client for a Windows 64Bit machine?

You need to register, but it's free though
Otherwise, if you licensed SAP with Oracle, on market place you'll get the Oracle DVD's. Inside those, run the Oracle Installer and instead of installing the DBMS, choose to install only client tools

401 Unauthorised Error in SAP BPC Client

Hello Experts,
Recently we have moved to new facility of our company from where we are trying to access BPC Admin client and web url.
We have BPC 7.5 NW version of BPC Server.
In our previous location we had Windows XP workstation with IE 7 and we were able to acess with no problem.
In the new location we have desktops with Windows 7 and IE8. Are there any additional security settings we need to take care of in Windows 7?
Also from both locations we are accessing BPC server through VPN. IS there any additional setting for accessing BPC server through VPN?
Please share some tips for the above issue.

Can you please look into SAP Note: 1540512. Here are the excerpts:
Issue was fixed in BPC NW 7.0 SP08 and is schedulled for fix in BPC NW 7.5 SP06
Workaround solution 1 is to attempt to connect with the same user to BPC Admin client once and then try to access web page again
Workaround solution 2:
a. in BW run SE16 and view table UJA_LAST_USER where USER_ID = domain\username
This table defines which system was last accessed by the user
b. Check that application set in APPSET_ID and application in APPL_ID are currently accessible for this user
c. Only if the application set mentioned was removed, please edit both APPSET_ID and APPL_ID to a correct value of an application set and application the user has access to (you can copy the value from another user's).

How do I install system to clients?

OK, I have the manual, but lots of questions. Here's the scoop - I manage a classroom with 25 Macs and have OS X Server 10.4.11 running on an iMac. Mainly we use the iMac as a file storage device. But now I would like to "broadcast" (for lack of a better word) the system software to each workstation so they can all be running the same version and I can keep them up to date. I do not want to have them all startup from the server, but rather use the server to install the system on each computer. Help! I have a small budget for tech support, but as usual with a school it is VERY small. Where can I turn for answers or help? (Our school IT department is mostly Windows and Linux and I have tried them already. No other school is using OS X 10.4.)

The only push option that comes to mind is Apple Remote Desktop.
With ARD you can manage multiple systems, including scheduled installs of software updates, run scripts, and even monitor what the systems are doing (may be useful depending on the age of your students).
For 25 clients you'll need the Unlimited version. It's $499 retail, but I don't know what education discounts apply.
The only other option that might work is setting up a Software Update Server. That option is free, but it'll only apply Apple-provided updates, not third-party apps. The difference here is that you can't push updates out to the clients - the clients have to check for updates and apply them individually (often requiring admin password to do so). I'm guessing that's not in the plan.

the installation is standard but first you have to install the prerequisite software.
Check diagnostic will provide you the information if the PC is ready or not.
When check diagnostic doesn't provide any error you will be able to install the BPC client.

How to Run Allocation in Outlooksoft Everest 4.2 or SAP BPC 5.1

Currently we use OS Everest 4.2 and we are in the Process of installing SAP BPC 5.1. We haven't used OS or BPC for allocation. I am trying to find a document that helps us guide through the process of creating a Allocation rules / formulas.
We found a Allocation Manual in Old Outlooksoft Support site and tried using it but it doesn't work or may be I am doing something wrong.
This is a Sample Allocation formula that we were just trying to see if it works.

First of all, I am feeling for you. It is very hard situation that thousand of users has own local "MyDocument" folder in local PC.
Folder structure between 5.1 and 4.2 is almost identical. Only difference is name of folder in My Documents. It was "Everest" in 4.2 but "OutlookSoft" in 5.1.
And there is couple more differences but it is going to recover automatically. Something like dimension cache, appinfo archive.
So, I like to suggest rename current "Everest" to "OutlookSoft" in My Documents. And do some test. I think biggest issue of here is report functionality between two versions.
At least, simple rename procedure is much easier than copy all reports to correct path.
