How do I pause a subvi from a mager program without stopping the mager program
Hello to you all
I am having a problem and i hope that you can help me, i am traying to make a sub vi to be paused (after it had started to run) at any time that the mager program neads to pause the sub vi. what i mean is that the mager program is running and she activates (runs) the sub vi during her run, and the mager program neads to pause that sub vi at some point ( in order to activate a diffrent sub vi) and let it continue to run only after the diffrent sub vi had finised.
I didnt found an icon for "pause" like there is for "stop", and the idears that i have are good for pausing the sub vi only at the start of its run and thats it (and thats not what i nead).

I hope you are doing well today! The suggestion provided by altenbach is really good. Alternatively, you can also use a global variable and an event or case structure, to pause the execution of a VI. I have attached an example of a subVI, called by the mainVI, which displays the current iterative count of a while loop. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

Can anybody please let me know how to delete paused application download from iphone.Hello, flowerpet1. Thank you for your reply. Interestingly, your instructions worked on my iPad Mini, where I had the same problem. The update module was listed under "Usage" and I was able to delete it. Although I still have the red circle with "1" in it over my Settings icon on the home page, the status under Software Update is now "Download and Install" instead of just "Install". Also, the available storage on the Usage screen has increased by about 4.2 GB.
On my iPhone 5S, however, I'm not quite sure what the situation is now. The IOS 8 update module does not show under "Usage". However, the status under Software Update has also changed to "Download and Install" instead of just "Install"--but without my doing anything to the phone. Maybe the update file was removed from the phone when I removed it from the iPad. I don't remember what the available storage was before, so I don't know if I recouped any space.

I would like to do so proactively when I am not using a certain program but need to keep it open, and I want to free up computer resources.
In other words, I want to keep a given program open, but stop it from "thinking".There is an application that I can only open a set number of times before it expires. Every time the program closes, you get one less use out of it. I want to use it as long as possible, so I thought I would just keep it open all the time. However, it consistently turns on the fan on the computer, so I imagine it uses a lot of resources. I got the idea after the Force Quit program "paused" it once after getting overloaded with all the apps I had open. It stopped the fan, and I was able to open it and run it again later with no problems. The tricky thing with trying to intentionally overload the system is that it's a hit or miss on which open program the OS will pause (to my knowledge).

How can I delete an app from launchpad, that doesn't have the little cross in the left top corner. The app isn't an App Store app. The application is also not present anymore in my application's folder in finder.
I tried to use the attached command through TERMINAL :

Unfortunately this all seems a little rough around the edges -- for example, I have found updates for AppStore apps on the support.apple.com updates download site, but then when I install them via ARD they don't actually update the software. (The AppStore icons still show as needing the updates, and the version info reports the old version.) The documentation is also vague about which AppleID to use in which circumstance. I think they just haven't finished thinking through the implications of the various procedures and policies upon the various kinds of customers. When we deployed Mountain Lion on the school lab, we made an install usb and went around and installed it on each computer -- and it appears that you are on the honor system as far as paying for all of the licenses that you install. We did! But they appear to have no way to enforce it.
So far, I have only deployed 9 Lion macs in my day job, and our "solution" to the AppStore showing updates problem has been to drag the AppStore icon off of the users' docks so they don't see them! -

How to pull only column names from a SELECT statement without executing it? It seems there is getMetaData() in Java to pull the column names while sql is being prepared and before it gets executed. I need to get the columns whether we run the sql or not.

I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.

and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.
Actually, no it does not tell you that.
FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

I cannot use the back up function as have been advised that therer are bugs in it and restoring it back to my phone will bring the bugs with it and phone will be back to apple again as will start playing up again. But I need the music. Whn I plug it in laptop and go to itunes icon it gives me 2 options: Set up as new iphone? OR Restore from backup.
Do I pick set up as new phone? I dont know as the guy at the genius bar told me there would be an option asking if i want to sync itunes only...but there isn't.Set up as New and then... Re-Sync your Content from iTunes.

Hi all, how can I delete an attachment from a received email but save the message?*
Over the years this issue crops up again and again. Here are the cases I know about:
Case 1 - it simply doesn't work
I have a message in my inbox with a jpeg of about 300Mb. Select message, choose option "remove attachment" which is not greyed out, and it does not work.
Case 2 - it works if you save the message first
I move the message from the inbox to a mail box. Open the mailbox (select), select the message, choose option "remove attachment", result: the attachment is removed, a small text file is added and an error appears in the message "missing plug-in". The message size is reduced from 300Mb to a few bytes.
Case 3 - the option "remove attachment" is greyed out.
I've googled this at least 10 times and read all the advice about editing various files from the library and all the other hacks. The simple truth here is that the user should not be inconvenienced by such inappropriate behaviour. We're not used to this from Apple any more, not since OS X. Even Windows does this stuff painlessly. In fact this kind of function is something that Outlook and Exchange do incredibly well. If they didn't the corporate world would have ground to a halt.
My point: the remove attachment option should work all the time and should be redesigned. Right-click + save as + delete in the message would be a hundred times easier. -
On iTunes 11.0, how do I delete and App from iTunes? I tried selecting the App to be deleted and pressing Delete, but that did not work.
MoragaTomI have the same problem on my iPhone - an app I want to delete but can't. The app in question doesn't show up on the list of apps i iTunes and doesn't show an 'X' when it starts to wiggle. All the other apps do, but not this one. It's definitely an app. How do I get rid of it, please?
