How do I require a password?

Within Muse, how would I go about requiring a password to access certain content on my site?

There must be an echo in here; perhaps the third time this question asked this week. ( Please check the board and other posts )
At this time Muse does not natively support Usernames / Logins etc as this requires a CMS system in the 'background' of the site. It is something that can be manually added via code, but isn't supported by the application.

See if you have something in your settings that shows Profile. Settings>General>Profiles.
Important: Restrictions can also be enabled or enforced using a profile (typically installed when using the device for business or education purposes). You can check for installed profiles in Settings > General > Profiles. For additional information, contact the administrator or the person who installed the profile.

  • How do I require a password when the computer boots up (from shutdown)?

    Hey guys,
How do I require the input of a password for my user account when my computer is off and then is booted up?
    Thanks

    Open System Preferences
    Click on Accounts
Click on the padlock and enter password
    Click on login options
There you should see an option to disable "automatic login". You should also notice some other options there that you may or may not want. They should be pretty self explanatory.
The Security panel has an option to require password after sleep or the screen saver is invoked if you need it.

I'm NOT looking for Master Password. I DON'T want to require a password in order to start/open Fire Fox.
I want anyone trying to download or install a program/software on the computer to have to enter a password, and otherwise not be able to complete the installation.

though not really a firefox issue - create a password protected administrator account on the pc & turn the freely accessible account into a restricted user account.

    Q. How do I block a user from printing, but allow it if a password is entered?
    A. Follow these steps:
    1. First make sure that the account you wish to manage is not an admin account. Use the Accounts pane in System Preferences to remove administrator privileges from the account if necessary.
    2. Download and install the Server Admin Tools from Apple. Be sure to download the correct version; there are separate Snow Leopard 10.6, Leopard 10.5 and Tiger 10.4 versions.
    3. Run Software Update to ensure you have the most recent version of the Server Admin Tools installed.
    4. Open Workgroup Manager. Enter localhost in the Address field, and enter an administrator's username and password in the remaining fields. Click the Connect button.
    5. On the left, click the account you wish to manage. Click Preferences at the top, and then click Printing on the right.
    6. Click the "Manage Always" button at the top right of the window. At the bottom. there are two check boxes: One allows printing to local printers, and the other requires an admin password. Check both boxes.
    7. Quit Workgroup Manager.
Users of that account now need to have an administrator's username and password entered when they want to print.

    Hi Király,
This may work for a stand alone unit, but I'm thinking Open Directory may change things.
    My testing:
    4. After I enter localhost and enter my admin name and password, it takes me to my LDAP server with a bunch of users listed, and not my local Test user.
    5. For me, the user list is on the left.
    6. Before 6, I need to select the Manage ( ) Always radio button at the top to allow me to enable the checkboxes at the bottom.
    6. I actually see 3 check boxes at the bottom:
[ ] Allow user to modify the printer list (Mac OS X v10.4 or earlier)
[ ] Allow printers that connect directly to user's computer
[ ] Require an administrator password.
Not quite sure yet how to point to my localhost for the edit.
    Thanks,
    Nubz N.

  • How can I require a password to change the "Require password after sleep or screen saver begins" setting

My son has a habit of disabling the "Require password after sleep or screen saver begins" setting whenever my wife lets him play a game on her account.  I notice every other setting on the "Security & Privacy -> General" tab is protected by the lock on the lower left corner.  I've never understood why this one is not.  Is there any way that I can get that setting to also be controlled by the lock?

Because that setting is specific to the account currently logged in and doesn't potentially affect any others or the system itself, which is the level in general at which administrator or root access is required.

I am asking a question here. I haven't tried it.
Doesn't this give away the farm? A regular user has an admin user & password.
I guess you could mark this user as not being able to login. They could still get into terminal & play around.

No. I'm thinking of the scenario where a managed user (e.g. a child) uses a non-admin account and doesn't know the admin username/password. Even in a managed account, the user has unlimited printing capabilities. My tip allows printing under the managed account to be limited thus:
Dad, I'm ready to print now. Can you please come and enter the password?
This way, Junior cannot print anything that Dad does not allow.

  • How to enable login screen which doesn't require a password

I'm setting up an image for a computer lab. The computers that are currently in this lab auto login. However, in the off case that a student accidentally (or maybe purposefully) locks the computer, we want them to be able to simply click the user account
picture and it logs in without asking for a password. The current Windows 7 PCs in this lab work that way, but whoever set them up can't remember how this was accomplished and I can't figure out for the life of me how to get it done. Currently, if I lock the
PC, it just brings me to the login screen with a blank username & blank password field.
These machines are not on the domain. Does anyone have any idea how to get this behavior out of the login screen?

    BYPASS LOGIN
Open a Run window (Windows Logo key+R), type netplwiz and press Enter. Remove the tick from “Users must enter a user name and password” > OK. You may have to type the user account name/password just the once to complete the process.
BYPASS ENTERING A PASSWORD AFTER WAKEUP
To bypass entering a password after hibernation, go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Power Options > Require a password on wakeup (in the left pane) and put a check mark in Don’t require a password.

  • How do I unlock myself out of my ipad when I don't remember the password and cannot connect to iTunes with out it requiring a password?

I recently made a dumb decision and changed my iPad pass code, I must have blanked out because I have no memory of the password to get in and now I'm locked out.   iTunes is requiring the pass code but I don't remember it!  I'm not connected to iCloud for some reason so I cannot reset my iPad.  I feel that I have to resort to buying a new iPad.  Please help!

You may have to do this several times.
Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
