Please help.....thanks a lot
Hi,
Thanks, I commented it and it worked :)
But EBS R11 put it by default I wonder if It has some
effect from Oracle Applications. Anyways I have to
return it back if it affects the applications.It is enabled for security reasons in Oracle Apps 11.5.10. It will not disrupt the running of the application, but security is reduced because you are now allowing all cliens to connect. To maintain the security, you need to add client to the list instead of comment it out.
Do you know what FND_SQLNET_ACCESS is set to?

I've started getting these errors on my database. However, nothing was being reported in my alert log. I did the research and found a bug that could cause this, with a patch. Also found that the same patch was in the 10.2.0.3 patch set.
So I updated to that patch last night. STILL getting the same errors...but now I'm getting new errors...

I looked up that string of text...googled it...came back with nothing.
How else can I investigate this ORA-12537 error? This is my production db, and it's down.
I checked the memory that one article indicated could be of issue...memory is fine.
It also mentioned versions of listener, I'm looking into that right now on how to see what version and how to update it. I'm also going to open a SR with Oracle.
Thanks.Ok...tried to log back in (no other actions taken) and it was a normal log in...that's really weird.
The db was never down...it's functional. Just some folks can't get to it. (not the same people all the time..)

ORA-12537 error in Oracle 8.1.7
We have an Oracle Application Server and an Oracle DB Cluster communicating over a Firewall between two VLANS.
Sometimes we get the error ORA-12537 "TNS: connection closed". The oracle documentation says this is just an
information message and no action is required but we have to restart all oracle processes on the application server.
Can anyone tell me what's the cause of our problem and how can I avoid restarting the oracle processes
on the application server when the error occurs?Make sure you set the NLS_LANG environment variable properly on the WebLogic
server environment. Search this newsgroup for NLS_LANG.

Hi,
We are using jDrivers of Weblogic to connect to oracle , when we did
testing on Oracle 8.1.7 with UTF8 for the Update Statements we got the error
message ORA-01461 can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column.
All the columns in the table are varchar2. Any Solution to this problem?
Thanks -
Error ORA-12537 when trying to connect
I'm getting an 'ORA-12537 TNS:connection closed' error when connecting to the database (8.1.7 on Win2k). The problem persists even after restarting both, listener and database-service. I cannot even connect as SYSDBA. How can i solve this problem?
Seems like it may be a problem with Oracle on Windows and Firewalls. Check that your firewall software/hardware is able to proccess SQL*NET requests.
Try to open all the ports based on IP address and see if that works. -
I've been given the unenviable task of troubleshooting and installing/distributing software written by a former co-worker. I've modified the LabVIEW code and built an .exe file. I've successfully installed the Labview .exe file on several computers, but it won't work on some others. What's more baffling is that I installed it successfully on one computer, uninstalled it, and tried reinstalling it with no success. In fact, it's a new error (Dr. Watson for Windows NT application error). It doesn't help that I have different versions of LabVIEW and Matlab on the target computers. Some have LabVIEW 5.1, some
have 5.0, and some don't have it at all. Some have Matlab 5.2, some have 5.3 (R11) and some have 6.0 (R12). It's also not clear to me where the Matlab m files should be located. I'm not sure if it's a LabVIEW Runtime Engine problem, or if it's a Matlab problem. I've also wondered how LabVIEW and Matlab talk to each other. When LabVIEW calls Matlab, it seems that Matlab is running in the background. In other words, clicking on the Matlab Command Window and typing "whos" or any other command/variable doesn't work.Jay del Rosario wrote:

Any ideas how to better troubleshoot VPN issue?
Hi,
I've recently upgraded my WLAN router to a brand new AVM FRITZ!Box WLAN 7390, in part for its VPN capabilities.
So far, I've been unable to create a working connection.
AVM's VPN is based on Cisco IPSec, and they provide a step-by-step procedure on how configure a Mac-based VPN connection (http://www.avm.de/de/Service/Service-Portale/Service-Portal/VPN_Interoperabilita et/16206.php - unfortunately only available in German, sorry). Following it, I still can't get it to work. Contacting their support I got first the same procedure and after pointing out I already followed it a "we don't support other vendors".
Funny enough, I got a second VPN connection to my work's VPN server just fine, though admittedly there we have a true Cisco box.
My initial setup was based on a 192.x.x.x net on my AVM, I could establish a VPN connection but coudn't ping/ssh/http/you-name-the-protocol in either direction. Our companies net is a 10.x.x.x net so, and as I have also VMware fusion running on my Mac with DHCP enabled on a different 192.x.x.x net plus a third 192.x.x.x net from my Wifi access I decided to reconfigure my AVM net to a 172.x.x.x net and stop VMware services for the tests (ie simplify as much as I could to help troubleshoot).
Alas, instead of being able to establish a non-working VPN connection, now I ain't able to get the tunnel up. IKE Phase 1 completes but Phase 2 doesn't.

An earlies test in a Starbucks around here had the same result, during looking at the netstat -nr output I found I got onto a 10.x.x.x net on the Wifi and still could connect to the (different) 10.x.x.x net at work.
My TCP/IP Networking course was around 2000, but the default route seen in the non-working log section looks like bullsh*t to me anyhow: DEFAULT-ROUTE = local-address 172.77.7.14/32
On the other hand, the Phase 2 message seem to indicate a different mode for Phase 2 between the working and the non-working one.

I also noticed an extra "IPSec port-mapping update for en1 ignored" message in the non-working log section, but I'm not sure a) how significant that might be, and b) how to find out what the ignored update might have been to decide whether not ignoring it would help.
A quick test with the AnyConnect Client from Cisco didn't help either, apparently it establishes an https connection first as I got a window which certificate details from my QNAP behind the AVM Box (I got a port forward for https to it)
So I'm looking for any ideas how to better troubleshoot this VPN issue...
Many thanks in advance!
BR,
AlexOk, found a small typo in my config (had at one point a 172.77.7.14 instead of the 172.22.7.14), no I can also connect from the 172.x.x.x net but still no ping etc. The relevant section of the log looks now like this:

Hi all,
I need help with my iphone4s.
When I turn on my iphone4s, the apple logo will show for a few seconds, and it will suddenly fade off to a blank screen, and not start up. It will then restart by itself, and the cycle repeats. Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this problem?
What seems to be the problem here?
thanks and regards

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...

My Apple tv status light is blinking fast - how do I troubleshoot?
my Apple TV gen 2 status light is blinking fast and I am not able to see anything from my Apple TV - how do I troubleshoot? What I read on the Apple site is that my Apple TV has issues. My Apple TV is hard wired to my Ethernet network. It is connected to my TV using an HDMI cable. It worked in the past but when I turned it on today it did not work. I have not used it in several months and we had a bad thunderstorm here a couple weeks ago.
I'm having the same problems as you. Any solutions? This is what i'm facing
1. No video signal at all
2. Plugged in power cable only, there is no light
3. Plugged in micro usb, there is flashing light
4. Restore via iTunes is sucessful but problem still persists -
FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?
Hello. The link FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?
does not work, and i need the answer please. My imported MTS clips are not playing back audio because it seems that no audio imported with the video. Thanks, Don.Hi there
Audio plays when the object with the audio assigned appears. This is why you hear it when the Button appears.
Try assigning the audio instead to the object that appears when you click the button. Perhaps the caption.
Cheers... Rick

Microsoft has finally addressed this issue!
You need to download and install the 14.2.4 update (110MB) for Office 2011 from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34690
Unfortunately, if you have been lazy with updating you will also need to download:
Service Pack 1 (14.1.0), 247MB: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17198
[Service Pack 2 (14.2.0), 110MB: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29419 -> you don't have to download this]
Update 14.2.3, 110MB: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30214
These are all pre-required...
This update adds the ability to select a default text encoding for composing new messages.The encoding that is selected in composing preferences will be applied to all new messages that are sent from Mac Outlook. To access composing preferences, select Outlook, select Preferences, and then select Composing. The new preference is Preferred encoding for new messages. ORA-12537 During ABAP Preprocessing on EHPI Install/Upgrade
I have a dual Netweaver BI stack at SP 18 and have started an EHP1 Upgrade with the latest stack (701 SP4). After six hours into ABAP Pre-processing it comes out with a message
Severe Error code -1 during analysis of logfiles matching PN....\<SID>.
Looking at the EHPI/abap/log I find that the while running the EXSTATE ORA it had issues running the SQL. My r3trans -d fails with an "ORA-12537 - End of file condition has reached". SAP is up with users logged on, but as ORASID or SIDADM my SQLPLUS connect /as sysdba says connecting to an IDLE instance, the Instance is running fine. The permissions on oracle have not changed and are -rwsr-s--x.
Any clues what could have gone wrong? If I have to stop Oracle I will have to kill the daemons since I can't logon to sqlplus as sysdba now.Hi Bhan,
Could you please check whether your processes and sessions parameters at oracle are set properly ?
also, please check by running BRTOOLS and try to check space in tablespaces and if BRtools is showing error then you must increase processes and sessions parameters at oracle ?
Also, could you please attach the log file ?
Thanks

How can I troubleshoot my iphone5 if it got stocked searching for my carrie?. I already tried removing the SIM card but it doesnt stop searching. I also tried using other SIM but still same result.
Try this: press F10 or tap the Alt key to display the menu bar temporarily, then
View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
If that doesn't work, you could reset your toolbars to factory default using Firefox's Safe Mode. First, make a backup of your computer for safekeeping. To back up Firefox, see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
Next, start Firefox in Firefox
[http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode], and check only the box to reset toolbars. Be careful not to "reset" anything else if you didn't back up.
Hope this helps. -
Exception ORA-12537: Network Session: End of file, Oracle.ManagedDataAccess
My environment:
> Oracle 11g expression edition in Win7 ("DevDB")
> Oracle 11g in non-Windows platform ("ProDB")
> Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.dll (file version is 4.121.1.0, product version is 4.121.1.20131211)
> Instant client sqlplus
If I use sqlplus to connect "DevDB" and "ProDB" with following command, both DBs can be connected successfully.
> sqlplus someUser@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=xxx.xxx.xxx)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=DBSID)))
If I use following codes with Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.dll to connect DBs.
string connectionString = "User Id=someUser;Password=somePwd;Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=xxx.xxx.xxx)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=DBSID)))";
OracleConnection con = new OracleConnection(connectionString);
try{
con.Open();
} catch (Exception e) {
Console.WriteLine(e.Message);
Console.WriteLine(e.StackTrace);
} finally {
if (con != null)
con.Dispose();
It can connect to "DevDB" successfully. However, when I try to connect "ProDB", it throws following exception.
ORA-12537: Network Session: End of file

Any tips to fix this problem?
ThanksI added following settings in app.config file
<configSections>
<section name="oracle.manageddataaccess.client" type="OracleInternal.Common.ODPMSectionHandler, Oracle.ManagedDataAccess" />
</configSections>
<oracle.manageddataaccess.client>
<version number="*">
<settings>
<setting name="SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES" value="all"/>
<setting name="NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH" value="ezconnect"/>
</settings>
</version>
</oracle.manageddataaccess.client>
Still failed, sometimes it throws "ORA-12537: Network Session: End of file", sometimes throws "ORA-03135: Connection lost contact".
As ORA-12537 after change to Oracle.ManagedDataAcess.dll mentioned, it works without any problem with the unmanaged library.Please advice, thx. -
