How do you label a point (x,y) on a scatter graph?

I made a graph with a corresponding table, just a regular x,y table. I just need one of these points on the graph to be labeled with the corresponding (x,y) numbers. How do you do that?

The only solution I could come up with utilizes two charts one on top of the other:
- the scatter chart you started with AND
- a vertical bar chart where the value is enabled with
   + everything else hidden or disabled
   + the background set fill set to none
   + the vertical and horizontal min and max set to the same for both charts
I had to create a two new columns (one to check a box indicating the value label was to be included) and a column which includes the value:
setting this up is not too hard:
In this example...
D2=IF(E2, C2, "")
select D2 and fill down
Now select the column D and add a bar chart and set up like:
You will also want to select the series in the new column and make the "series data symbol" none
This has a problem where the bar chart does not use X data so the points will not always line up.
NOTE: This is the rube-goldberg solution.
You can simply place a text box or and single cell table that references the same cell in the original data like this,

Do a Get Info on the videos in question. Under "Options" is a drop-down for "Video Kind".

How do you fix entry point error sqlite3_wal_checkpoint

HI All,
I just downloaded the "lastest" PUSH (iOS (iPAD/iPhone), Quicktime, iTunes upgrades for Windows 7 (x64) from Apple, and upon reboot (required) I was greeted with the following error msg.:
"The procedure entry point SQLite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll."
How do you FIX this????

HI B Noir,
No that did not help.   I did copy the SQLite3.dll to the: Program Files(x86)/common files/Apple/Mobile Device Support folder and that got rid of that error.   It appears that this is an ongoing issue with iTunes on Windows machines. I'm starting to remember that I had to do this for the last update, fouond the fix in another forum dated in 2010.
2 other issues also occur:
1. Can't backup to the computer, only to the icloud. When I change it in itunes it reverts back to the icloud, and will not backup to the computer.
2. The "category list" in the radio on itunes refreshes forever, and no station appear under any category.

How do you move the point where an audio clip attaches to a video clip?

I'm talking about the little carrot that sticks from one clip to another to indicate the point where the cips are syncronized. How do you move their position? Thank you!

The manual says ...
Adjust the connection point of a connected clip
By default, connected clips and storylines are connected to the primary storyline at their first frame, but you can move the“connection point” of a connected clip or storyline. This is useful when you want to connect a specific frame or audiosample in the connected clip or storyline with a specific frame or audio sample in the primary storyline.
Hold down the Command and Option keys, and click the connected clip (or the gray border of the storyline) at thepoint where you want to position the connection point.
The connection point is moved to the point where you clicked.
For other things ... If you want to move the audio clip in relation to the video clip just click on it and drag it to the left or right. This is when your audio clip is a separate clip from your video clip. If you want to move the audio that is part of a video clip, you first have to select that clip then choose Clip/Break Apart Clip Items then do one of the things listed above. Best wishes.

How do You See Anchor Points When Object is Unselected

Hi, In Adobe Illustrator is there any way of viewing the anchor points of objects permanently even when an object is unselected? So you can see where the points are when you are making shapes with the pen tool. If there was, this would make it a lot easer to place the points on existing points of other shapes without having to guess where they are. Thanks for you help Gareth.

Oh no! I just noticed when using it, that it is not as useful as I thought, because if you want to put a point anywhere near the 90º or 45º line from the last one it forces you to put in on that line, it's great that it lets you see the points on the other shapes but too bad it makes you do that. and you can't turn off smart guides while making a shape because it stops that shape and starts a new one. That's a bit annoying, so it's still easier to do it without smart guides guessing where the points are and correct them later with the white arrow if you missed any. Thanks for you help though. Unless there is an app that provides for this, you don't. You can't see the name or label of photos on the iPad.
Photos in the iPad's Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Change the name or label of the photos on your computer.

The titles for columns and rows are easy. How do you name or entitle the spreadsheet in Numbers?

Terminology is important here. It is hard to answer your question as presented.
Column and row "titles" are called "headers". If you have chosen to "use header names as references", cells are given names based on what is in their respective column and row header cells.
"Spreadsheet" could mean "document" or could mean "table". Sometimes it can mean "sheet". People use that word loosely.
If you mean "table" and you want the table name to be displayed above the table, go to the Table tab of the Inspector and put a check next to "Name". You can rename the table there. You can also rename a table by double clicking its name in the sidebar on the left of the Numbers window.
If you mean "document", you have to save the file and give it a name. From the Insert menu you can insert the filename into a table cell, a text box, or as a page header/footer.
If you mean "sheet", you can change the name of the sheet in the sidebar on the left by double clicking on the sheet name. There is no automatic way to get the sheet name to appear on the page.

I need to create a Scatter Chart, with a text label for each data point instead of the xy coordinates. A legend will no longer be necessary.Also, I want to draw "cross-hair" lines on both the x and y axes centered on one particular data point.Any ideas?

Here we are ok if the dimension is displayed in the scatter instead of the measurements but the only options i founds was "Show data" and that option displays the values of the xy.
pls let me know if anybody found any solution for this problem

How do you add cue points to a MOV file that Director 12 can read?

I have just downloaded the Trial of Director 12 - and unless I can add cue points to video that it can interpret - I am not going to be able to achieve what I need to. I've spent the last day and a half looking over the scant documentation provided by Adobe, and anything else I could find online - but the only answers that came anywhere near were for old versions using discontinued xtras.
Please can anyone help? - I am using Windows 7 64 bit - CS6.

Probably too late for your project but...
You can do this by using 3 sprites in addition to the SWF. In this example, I've named them "videoPlay", "videoRewind, and "videoStop". The SWF in this case was named "video."
Apply this script to each of the 3 sprites.

I use Gmail and I just send them in the Spam folder and you'll not see them again.

Using Pen tool to create mask _ How do you get the points to stop connecting together?

I've masked the sky over the roof of a home. Started on the left side of the photo and moved over the house detailing it to the right side of the photo. When I try to create the mask by clicking Command /enter the points on the left and right side of the image connect which makes it impossible for the mask in the sky to work.

How do you select anchor points on a brush stroke?

Hi, This may be a stupid question but i'm new to flash.
I am doing rotoscoping and draw with the brush tool on a new layer over the top of a live action video.
I would like to be able to use the subselection tool on my previously drawn brush lines and move segments of the lines rather than redrawing them for the next frame.
The problem is that with the subselect tool I can only seem to select points either on the inside or outside of the brush line, meaning I can only expand part of the line. I would like to be able to select the matching inside and outside points at the same time and move them together.

How do you automate the point size of page numbers in a generated index?

In Framemaker 10 I have a generated index for a book. The indexed items are in point size 10 but the generated page numbers come out in 12 pt.
Can I automate the page number size to be 10 pt?
I have tried defining a character tag IndexPage Numbers and entered the following on the index Reference page:
Level1IX
<IndexPageNumbers><$pagenum>
Level2IX
<IndexPageNumbers><$pagenum>
but this does produce the desired point size.

I was just generating an index today and had this weird behavior. The level1IX, level2IX, and level3IX entries formatted as expected (TNR, 11pt, plain) but the markers and page numbers displayed as 24pt, bold, Arial which matched the IndexIX format. What is that format for anyway? My user guide does not mention its purpose.
I looked at the reference page and there was a paragraph formatted as IndexIX with this content:
<$pagenum>
It was 24pt, arial, bold, and centered.
Another manual had an index that formatted properly last week but it too had the above <$pagenum> tag. So it's confusing as to the different behavior.
I reformatted the <$pagenum>/IndexIX paragraph to TNR, 11pt, plain (in the index file), regenerated the index, and now the page number formatting matches the entry formatting.
Again, is IndexIX the format for the index page numbers only and why does Frame insert <$pagenum> in the Index spec. on the reference page?

How do you make a horizontal average line in a scatter plot?

In any version of Numbers, is there a way to make a horizontal average trendline? Not a "moving average", but one line that is the average that goes through the data points on a scatter plot.

Rather than trying to stretch it taller, try to squeeze it horizontally. There are methods for telling it what to protect in the image if it gets touchy.
Another possibility is to use Content Aware Fill to make up part at the top and bottom, without any stretching.

How to center the TrackPad pointer on startup

Hi guys (and ladies)!
New on this forum, I confess I didn't have much time to prowl it in search for an answer to the question in the tittle of this post. I apologize for this, but the question itself is pretty straightforward: I'd like my TrackPad pointer to appear in the center of the screen on startup, the way it does on... err, um, you know, the OS from Redmond... You know?
I find it a hassle to have to dislodge it from its upper left corner every time I boot up my MBP, especially considering it takes several attempts to move it, with the Apple menu usually appearing when all I need is to click on a Dock icon...
I read somewhere that an AppleScript could be devised that would remedy to my problem, but I'm not fluent in AppleScript, so if you guys suggest something along this route, please make it understandable for the newbie that I am!

OK, that's one way to put it, but I already have a PC with Windoze installed (I happen to beta-test Seven like a half-dozen billion other people...), so if I wanted to run Windoze, I'd do it on my other computer.
No, seriously, doesn't anyone know of a script that would center the pointer on the screen of my MBP when it boots up? Like giving it new spacial coordinates (e.g. x=720, y=450 for my 1440x900px display)?
