How to assign MMC with an AKAI MPD-24
Hi,
I got a problem.
I assigned each potentiometer of my MPD-24 very easily in Logic.
But I don't know how to assign the MMC commands (Play, stop, rec...).
I tried the same way I did for the potentiometers but it does not work !
Have you got any idea about that ?
Thanks

I am trying to find out how to assign files with particular extensions to the appropriate software. At the moment when I create a file using Word it is apparently given the extension .docx but Word doesn't recognise its own files. How do I allocate the extension .docx to Word? There used to be a way of doing it, I think under "Preferences" but I can't seem to find it.
Still in the same location:

Akai MPD 16 or other sample controlling devices with Logic?
I am aware that this topic has been discussed before in the forum, however the answer i was looking for was not presented too clearly.
I am using an Akai MPD 16 with Logic Express 7. I am looking to assign samples to a sampler (most likely .wav drums/short melodies sampled from vinyl) so that they can be played internally in LE 7. I'm not so much looking to play entire sample "libraries" as the EXSP24 does, just individual samples i choose to map to specific pads on the MPD 16. I guess i'm just looking for a sampler in which i can assign .wav or other audio files that i can use in logic express with my MPD16.
I recognize the difference between Logic Pro's EXS24 and Express' EXSP24. So, i'm wondering how to solve this problem, does anyone know of a simple/decent VST that will suit my needs? or is there even a way to get around this in Logic Express whatsoever? anyone have a similar problem?
any help would be much appreciated.
i'm a bit new to software production and i'm trying to adjust from using a real Akai MPC for many years.
Thanks.

12" G4 Powerbook Mac OS X (10.4.6) Logic Express 7
12" G4 Powerbook Mac OS X (10.4.6)thanks for the reply, this looks nice, but to be honest, seems like too much.
is there not a simple device that will play individual .wav files via my midi controller???
i'm really only looking to use my drum libraries.
seems hard to believe there wouldn't be anything of the sort.

You can use create_project API to create the project and tasks at the same time with one single call. You may want to try that option

How to assign function module with process code in IDOC ?
how to assign function module with process code in IDOC ? and what code i have to write in that function module for custom IDOC ?
helpful answer will be rewarded?Hi,
First goto transaction we42 -->editing mode --> new entries -->give name of your process code and description --> processing with alv service and function module -->then press enter -->after that enter the name of the function module you want to associate from the drop down and save it.
Thats the way to assign function module with process code.
In that process code we will have the Function modules and Bapi's which will take the data which we are sending through IDOC and then process it.
for example: i am triggering the IDOC for every purchase order created then this process code in the receiver system will take the data which i have enetered in the sender system to create the purchase order and process it and creates the same purchase order in the receiver's system.
Reward if helpful.

How to assign task to others with an attachment?
Hi All,
How to assign task to other with an attachment and field values in the actual InfoPath form?
In detail, If a InfoPath form has submitted then task should be assigned to a person with an attachment and some field values which are present in InfoPath form.
How to achieve this scenario?
Thanks in advance!What you describe is a simple approval workflow. SharePoint comes with approval workflows out of the box.
When a task is created to approve an item, it does not need to have the attachment that is already in the item. The task will contain a link to the item that needs to be approved, so there is no need to duplicate the file attachment.
You may want to read a bit more about the out of the box approval workflows in SharePoint. Start here:

HOW TO ASSIGN MCSI REPORT WITH MC93
Dear Gurus
in my company, we have created on infostructure for MCSI report. the data is being populated and the report can also be seen.
But now, i want to put planned quantity/material for this infostructure through MC93, so that i can compare the actual sales with planned sales.
would you please advice me how to assign the infosturcuture with MC93 to put the planned quantity/target.
thank you
shabbir
Edited by: ashabbir on May 25, 2010 11:08 AMHello Shabbir
1) First create 'PLANNING hierarchy' using T code MC61. Specify the custom infostructure and do not enter any characteristics in the next scree. In the next screen enter the pan data level by level for all characteristics.
2) Now get into MC93 to create planning. Enter your custom infostructure in the opening screen for 'Planning Type'. Enter the characteristics as needed and click enter. Enter the plan data in the next screen and save the version.
3) Now use MCSI with your custom infostructure and when the standard Analysis: Basic list is displayed, go via menu option Edit/Comparisons/Planned/Actual to see the comparison.
Hope this helps. -

Open Hub: How-to doc "How to Extract data with Open Hub to a Logical File"
Hi all,
We are using open hub to download transaction files from infocubes to application server, and would like to have filename which is dynamic based period and year, i.e. period and year of the transaction data to be downloaded.
I understand we could use logical file for this purpose. However we are not sure how to have the period and year to be dynamically derived in filename.
I have read in sdn a number of posted messages on a similar topic and many have suggested a 'How-to' paper titled "How to Extract data with Open Hub to a Logical Filename". However i could not seem to be able to get document from the link given.
Just wonder if anyone has the correct or latest link to the document, or would appreciate if you could share the document with all in sdn if you have a copy.
Many thanks and best regards,
VictoriaHi,
After creating open hub press F1 in Application server file name text box from the help window there u Click on Maintain 'Client independent file names and file paths' then u will be taken to the Implementation guide screen > click on Cross client maintanance of file name > create a logical file path by clicking on new entiries > after creating logical file path now go to Logical file name definition there give your Logical file , name , physical file (ur file name followed by month or year what ever is applicable (press f1 for more info)) , data format (ASC) , application area (BW) and logical path (choose from F4 selection which u have created first), now goto Assignment of physical path to logical path > give syntax group >physical path is the path u gave at logical file name definition.
however we have created a logical path file name to identify the file by sys date but ur requirement seems to be of dynamic date of tranaction data...may u can achieve this by creating a variable. U can see the help from F1 that would be of much help to u. All the above steps i have explained will help u create a dynamic logical file.
hope this helps u to some extent.

How to assign numbers in external number range?
Dear experts,
Since NUMBER_GET_NEXT can only be used to assign numbers in internal number range, how to assign numbers in external number range?
So far, I only know the NUMBER_CHECK function module to deal with external number ranges and it only check a number whether it lies in any external number range or not, but it doesn't update any number range status. What I need is a function module like NUMBER_GET_NEXT that supports external number range.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Haris
Edited by: harissahlan on Oct 19, 2011 5:44 AMWith external number range, there is no updating of the number range objectt. The only thing you need to know is whether the number you wish to assign is allowed according to the external number range. And also check if there isn't already an object/document with the same number in the database.

How to configure sso with SSL step by step
Purpose
In this document, you can learn how to configure SSO with SSL. After user have certificate installed in browser, he can login without input username and password.
Overview
In this document we will demonstrate:
1. How to configure OHS support SSL
2. How to Register SSO with SSL
3. Configure SSO for certificates
Prerequisites
Before start this document, you should have:
1. Oracle AS 10g infrastructure installed (10.1.2)
2. OCA installed
Note:
1. “When you install Oracle infrastructure, please make sure you have select OCA.
2. How Certificate-Enabled Authentication Works:
a. The user tries to access a partner application.
b. The partner application redirects the user to the single sign-on server for authentication. As part of this redirection, the browser sends the user's certificate to the login URL of the server (2a). If it is able to verify the certificate, the server returns the user to the requested application.
c. The application delivers content. Users whose browsers are configured to prompt for a certificate-store password may only have to present this password once, depending upon how their browser is configured. If they log out and then attempt to access a partner application, the browser passes their certificate to the single sign-on server automatically. This means that they never really log out. To effectively log out, they must close the browser.
Enable SSL on the Single Sign-On Middle Tier
The following steps involve configuring the Oracle HTTP Server. Perform them on the single sign-on middle tier. In doing so, keep the following in mind:
l You must configure SSL on the computer where the single sign-on middle tier is running.
l You are configuring one-way SSL.
l You may enable SSL for simple network encryption; PKI authentication is not required. Note though that you must use a valid wallet and server certificate. The default wallet location is ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/ssl.wlt/default.
1. Back up the opmn.xml file, found at ORACLE_HOME/opmn/conf
2. In opmn.xml, change the value for the start-mode parameter to ssl-enabled. This parameter appears in boldface in the xml tag immediately following.
<ias-component id="HTTP_Server">
<process-type id="HTTP_Server" module-id="OHS">
<module-data>
<category id="start-parameters">
<data id="start-mode" value="ssl-enabled"/>
</category>
</module-data>
<process-set id="HTTP_Server" numprocs="1"/>
</process-type>
</ias-component>
3. Update the distributed cluster management database with the change: ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct opmn
4. Reload the modified opmn configuration file:
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl reload
5. Keep a non-SSL port active. The External Applications portlet communicates with the single sign-on server over a non-SSL port. The HTTP port is enabled by default. If you have not disabled the port, this step requires no action.
6. Apply the rule mod_rewrite to SSL configuration. This step involves modifying the ssl.conf file on the middle-tier computer. The file is at ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf. Back up the file before editing it.
Because the Oracle HTTP Server has to be available over both HTTP and HTTPS, the SSL host must be configured as a virtual host. Add the lines that follow to the SSL Virtual Hosts section of ssl.conf if they are not already there. These lines ensure that the single sign-on login module in OC4J_SECURITY is invoked when a user logs in to the SSL host.
<VirtualHost ssl_host:port>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteOptions inherit
</VirtualHost>
Save and close the file.
7. Update the distributed cluster management database with the changes:
ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct ohs
8. Restart the Oracle HTTP Server:
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl stopproc process-type=HTTP_Server
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl startproc process-type=HTTP_Server
9. Verify that you have enabled the single sign-on middle tier for SSL by trying to access the OracleAS welcome page, using the format https://host:ssl_port.
Reconfigure the Identity Management Infrastructure Database
Change all references of http in single sign-on URLs to https within the identity management infrastructure database. When you change single sign-on URLs in the database, you must also change these URLs in the targets.xml file on the single sign-on middle tier. targets.xml is the configuration file for the various "targets" that Oracle Enterprise Manager monitors. One of these targets is OracleAS Single Sign-On.
1. Change Single Sign-On URLs
Run the ssocfg script, taking care to enter the command on the computer where the single sign-on middle tier is located. Use the following syntax:
UNIX:
$ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssocfg.sh protocol host ssl_port
Windows:
%ORACLE_HOME%\sso\bin\ssocfg.bat protocol host ssl_port
In this case, protocol is https. (To change back to HTTP, use http.) The parameter host is the host name, or server name, of the Oracle HTTP listener for the single sign-on server.
Here is an example:
ssocfg.sh https login.acme.com 4443
2. Restart OC4J_SECURITY instance and verify the configuration
To determine the correct port number, examine the ssl.conf file. Port 4443 is the port number that the OracleAS installer assigns during installation.
If you run ssocfg successfully, the script returns a status 0. To confirm that you were successful, restart the OC4J_SECURITY instance:
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=OC4J_SECURITY
Then try logging in to the single sign-on server at its SSL address:
https://host:ssl_port/pls/orasso/
3. Back up the file targets.xml:
cp ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml.backup
4. Open the file and find the target type oracle_sso_server. Within this target type, locate and edit the three attributes that you passed to ssocfg:
· HTTPMachine—the server host name
· HTTPPort—the server port number
· HTTPProtocol—the server protocol
If, for example, you run ssocfg like this:
ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssocfg.sh http sso.mydomain.com:4443
Update the three attributes this way:
<Property NAME="HTTPMachine" VALUE="sso.mydomain.com"/>
<Property NAME="HTTPPort" VALUE="4443"/>
<Property NAME="HTTPProtocol" VALUE="HTTPS"/>
5.Save and close the file.
6. Reload the OracleAS console:
ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl reload
7. Issue these two commands:
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=HTTP_Server
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=OC4J_SECURITY
Registering mod_osso
1. This command sequence that follows shows a mod_osso instance being reregistered with the single sign-on server.
$ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssoreg.sh
-oracle_home_path $ORACLE_HOME
-config_mod_osso TRUE
-mod_osso_url https://myhost.mydomain.com:4443
2. Restarting the Oracle HTTP Server
After running ssoreg, restart the Oracle HTTP Server:
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=HTTP_Server
Configuring the Single Sign-On System for Certificates
1. Configure policy.properties with the Default Authentication Plugin
Update the DefaultAuthLevel section of the policy.properties file with the correct authentication level for certificate sign-on. This file is at ORACLE_HOME/sso/conf. Set the default authentication level to this value:
DefaultAuthLevel = MediumHighSecurity
Then, in the Authentication plugins section, pair this authentication level with the default authentication plugin:
MediumHighSecurity_AuthPlugin = oracle.security.sso.server.auth.SSOX509CertAuth
2. Restart the Single Sign-On Middle Tier
After configuring the server, restart the middle tier:
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=HTTP_Server
ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=OC4J_SECURITY
Bringing the SSO Users to OCA User Certificate Request URL
The OCA server reduces the administrative and maintenance cost of provisioning a user certificate. The OCA server achieves this by authenticating users by using OracleAS SSO server authentication. All users who have an Oracle AS SSO server account can directly get a certificate by using the OCA user interface. This reduces the time normoally requidred to provision a certificate by a certificate authority.
The URL for the SSO certificate Request is:
https://<Oracle_HTTP_host>:<oca_ssl_port>/oca/sso_oca_link
You can configure OCA to provide the user certificate request interface URL to SSO server for display whenever SSO is not using a sertificate to authenticate a user. After the OracleAS SSO server authenticates a user, it then display the OCA screen enabling that user to request a certificate.
To link the OCA server to OracleAS SSO server, use the following command:
ocactl linksso
opmnctl stoproc type=oc4j instancename=oca
opmnctl startproc type=oc4j instancename=oca
You also can use ocactl unlinksso to unlink the OCA to SSO.I have read the SSO admin guide, and performed the steps for enabling SSL on the SSO, and followed the steps to configure mod_osso with virtual host on port 4443 as mentioned in the admin guide.
The case now is that when I call my form (which is developed by forms developer suite 10g and deployed on the forms server which is SSO enabled) , it calls the SSO module on port 7777 using http (the default behaviour).
on a URL that looks like this :
http://myhostname:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login?Site2pstoreToken=.......
and gives the error :
( Forbidden
You don't have permisission to access /sso/auth on this server at port 7777)
when I manually change the URL to :
https://myhostname:4443/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login?Site2pstoreToken=.......
the SSO works correctly.
The question is :
How can I change this default behaviour and make it call SSO on port 4443 using https instead ?
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance -
How to assigne multiple value in key of read table
Hi gurus,
I want read table xxxx with key field1 = ' xxx' or field1 = 'yyy'.
how to assign multiple value as key for the same field while reading internal table.
Regards
sagarHi ,
You can loop the internal table like
loop at <table xxxx> where field1 = ' xxx' or field1 = 'yyy'
or you can write two read statements to read the internal table in wrk area.
read table <table xxxx> with key field1 = ' xxx'.
if sy-subrc <>0
read table <table xxxx> with key field1 = 'yyy'.
if sy-subrc = 0
endif.
else.
do your data processing.
endif.
