How to configure AutoAtendant on Unity Connection

Hi,
I have a Cisco CallManager 8.6 and a Cisco Unity Connection 8.6 on VMWare.I purchased the bundle (solution) Cisco BE 6000.
I did the integration of the Unity Connection with the CUCM via SIP (I also created a trunk SIP on CUCM to access CUC).
I would like to use the Unity Connection as AutoAttendant.
To do this I saw in the forum that I have to configure:
- a CTI Route Point with a DN on CallManager.
- To do a "forward all" on CTI Route Point to the VoiceMail
- On CUC to Add a new System Call Handler and to assign the same DN than the CTI Route Point
- to go to the Call Handler and to change the default message via My Personal Recording.
it would be well?
would I also have to create a end user on CUCM with Associated Device the CTI Route Point to see this DN as User with Voice Mail on CUC?
I would like that the AutoAttendat after Greeting to transfer the call to the DN which is the Pilot of Attendant Console. This action I don´t know how to do it.
I'm confused because I see on Call Handler a field called "After Greeting" with some settings (Call Action, Call Handler, Directory Handler, Conversation, User with Mailbox) but I don´t see any parameter where I can configure the DN to transfer the call.
I also the field called "Call Transfer Rules" but I am confused.
Another thing, could I to configure the CUC for the Auto Attendant works in one way some days (office hours) and out office hours and holidays works in other way?
It is possible to do on CUC to upload "Recorded Prompts" as UCCX Express to configure them as Greetings or I have to record My Personal Recordings with a Phone?
Can you help me, please?
Thank you very much

Hi,
I continued doing tests but I don´t get that the call is transfered to the Attendant Console Pilot after Greeting.
Sometimes I think that the Unity doesn´t know how to get to Atendant Console Pilot Point.
I read in the forums that I need to configure a call system transfer, by default transfer numbers that are recognized are only elements from CUC and to dial any other number which is not configured on CUC you need a call system transfer.
I also that I need a caller input or a routing rule to reach a call system transfer.
But in my case I want that after greeting the external call (DID) goes to Attendant Console Pilot without dialing any key, ie the outside caller call and he gets the greeting and after is redirected to the Attendant Console Pilot. Therefore I think I don´t need to configure any "caller input".
I did some tests with routing rule but I had not any luck. Could be due to the Unity Connection doesn´t know to get the Attendant Console Pilot.
Remember that I did the integration between CUCM and CUC via trunk SIP. How the Unity Connection knows that to get the Attendant Console Pilot it has to go to the CallManager (via SIP)?
I am confused.
Can you tell me how can I do this?
Regards

  • How to configure/implement stateful r3 connection in Arfc2 model?

    Hi,
After migration to Arfc2 model rfc function executed in different r/3 session.
How to configure/implement stateful behavior as arfc1 for using abap enqueue, transaction, shared between fm global variables from function group?
    Wbr, Ivan

    Hi,
thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid your post does not answer my question.
I don't have an issue concerning the state of the Web Dynpro Application - my problem is, that if I use ARFC2 (and not its predecessor ARFC1) to call an ABAP backend, every call to a function in this backend results in an independent session and this way doesn't share the same space in memory.
Indeed, you need less RFC connections this way, and this is an important advantage, but in some cases you have to redesign and rewrite substantial parts of an application if it was designed under aspects of ARFC1.
And I'm now looking for a way to have ARFC1-like behaviour with ARFC2.

  • How to re-initialize a Unity Connection 8.5 DataBase for Lab testing

I have built an Active/Active Unity Connection 8.5 Cluster on UCS for lab testing and I am wondering how to re-initialize the database (Clean out the database like a new install) without having to reinstall the application. I forgot to take a DRS of the newly installed server to revert back to.
I have tried using Bulk Administration but subscribers and Callhandlers with Dependencies will not be touched by the Bulk Administration job. I need a quick way of getting the database back to fresh install status.

    Hi,
Unlike Unity, there isn't a way to do this with UC without re-installing the entire application.

  • How to Configure ODI Console to Connect Multiple Master Repositories

    Hi,
Can anybody help me in following,
    1. How to configure ODI Console to access Multiple Master Repositories and its corresponding Work Repository?
    2. Solutions are not supported by ODI Console? Is it possible to import scenarios as solutions in ODI Console?
    Thanks
    MT

    MT,
    1. I can only speak on my own experience in setting up the ODI console, but my understanding is that the console is configured against a single master repository - the connection details are picked up when the WebLogic server starts.  If I'm wrong, I'm sure one of the gurus will correct me.
    2. I haven't come across a way to do this - I'm using 11.1.1.5.  Aside from my initial go-live, I tend to only promote individual scenarios across environments.  For the rare occasion when I need to do a larger bulk import I'll just use ODI Studio.

  • How to configure AA on Unity ?

How to configure Auto Attendant on Unity ?For example ,outsider caller dial AA number ,it answer the opening greeting ,then you can transfer to reception with pressing 0 or transfer to extension with pressing number.I do it as following ,but I think something is wrong ,help me .
1 add a CTI router point associated with a AA number on CCM and create it's voice mail on unity .And forward all to voice mail.
2 on Opening Greeting Call handler, set personal opening greeting ,no transfer incoming calls(send directly to handler'greeting). the other configuration of call handler is default
3 on operator Call handler ,transfer the incoming call to an extension ,for example reception extension.the other configuration of call handler is default.
But now ,I find when I dial AA number from outside ,I can hear the opening greeting and press 0 to trensfer reception ,but if presss extension number ,I hear the busy tone .Why ?

This can be done by configuring call handler(s). For the Call Handler you can set the 'Active Schedule' which let you activate the different greeting depending on the time. For your human attendant, you can configure CFNA/CFB to the Unity attendant extension. For more information please check the Unity Administration guide (section Call Handler)

  • How to delete users in unity connection

    hello all,
I have a unity connection cluster on version 7.1.3 and a cucm cluster on version 7.1.3
when i try to delete a user in unity connection I get the following error
This user is integrated with a Cisco Unified Communications Manager end user. Some fields may be disabled.
I deleted the user in cucm, however the user is still in Unity connection and i can't delete it,
what's the best way to delete a user ?
    thank you
    Cris

When the CUCM End User is deleted, the corresponding CUC user should  automatically be deleted as well. Sometimes this isn't the case and the  CUC user still exists and cannot be deleted due to other database hooks.
First you will need to find the ObjectId for the user that you want to remove from Connection:
run cuc dbquery unitydirdb SELECT ObjectId from vw_User WHERE Alias = 'alias of the user you want to delete'
Now you will want to delete that user as such (this will fail if there are database hooks still on the orphaned user):
run cuc dbquery unitydirdb EXECUTE PROCEDURE csp_UserDelete (pObjectId = 'objectid from above')

  • How to configure Airport Extreme to connect switch?

    Hi,
I have an Airport Extreme (3rd generation) on firmware 7.4.2 and it is connected to the WAN to a Time Warner (Motorola) cable modem. I am able to establish a wireless LAN for the home. However, I also have wall ports (ethernet) throughout the home that are connected to a Linksys SD2008 switch. I am hoping to also connect the wall ports through the AEB so that wired computers can get onto the LAN and the Internet. I have checked that I get an IP from the Ethernet ports from the AEB but when I connect that to the switch, however, I do not seem to be able to get an IP on the ports on the switch itself (i.e. the wall ports do not assign any IP, just a self assigned IP address.)
Does anyone know if it is possible to connect a Linksys SD2008 switch directly to AEB (acting as a router)? Thanks.

Suggest that you do some simple "tests" before trying to configure the entire setup.
First, connect a laptop using a short, spare Ethernet cable to one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme and make sure that you can get an Internet connection this way. If you can, you know that the LAN port on the AirPort is working correctly.
Then, connect the same short Ethernet cable to the switch and connect another spare Ethernet cable to the laptop. Make sure that you can get an Internet connection that way.
If you can, then you know that the switch is functioning correctly and you can start to troubleshoot the wiring around the house. If you cannot get an Internet connection, that obviously means that the switch is not functioning correctly.
Having wired many networks, I can say that the problems are almost always in the wiring...a bad cable or a bad Ethernet plug on either end. Take it one step at a time working out from the AirPort Extreme and test each connection, then add another device or cable and test, and then another, etc.

    Hi Karamalomari,
Did you start with  an earlier 8.0 version when building the Pub and then
    upgrade/patch to 8.5 during the install? If so you may be hitting this bug;
    CSCtn61453            Bug Details
Applying 8.5.1 software as patch results in corrupted CUC installation.
    Symptom:
After fresh installation of 8.5.1 software, we can notice several problem symptoms.
    - Connection services and Connection DB does not start
    - System cannot be accessed via web page
    - Informix error messages for certain CLI commandsExample :- show cuc cluster statuscom.informix.asf.IfxASFException: Attempt to connect to database server (ciscounity) failed.
    Command failed
    Conditions:
It is observed during fresh installation of Unity Connection product when installation was
started with earlier version of software and 8.5.1 software was applied as a patch during the setup process.
Workaround:This issue will be resolved in 8.5(1)su2 and Unity Connection 8.6 and later. So applying those versions of software as a patch during setup process will not encounter this problem. If you are installing affected version, first, perform a fresh installation of earlier version of software using the install media. Then after verifying the installation, proceed with the upgrade to 8.5.1su1 as a separate process.

Configuring the Subscriber Server in a Cisco Unity Connection Cluster
To configure the subscriber server in the cluster, follow these steps.
Caution You must configure the subscriber server on the publisher server by using Cisco Unity Connection Administration before you install the subscriber server. See the "Configuring a Cisco Unity Connection 8.x Cluster" chapter of the Cluster Configuration and Administration Guide for Cisco Unity Connection at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/cluster_administration/guide/8xcuccagx.html.
    Procedure
Step 1 If you configured Network Time Protocol on the publisher server, ensure that it is synchronized with an NTP server before you install the subscriber server. From the Command Line Interface on the publisher server, enter utils ntp status. Ensure that the output indicates that the server is synchronized with an NTP server.
Note If the publisher server is not synchronized with an NTP server, installation of the subscriber server will fail.
Note When you are installing Cisco Unity Connection on a virtual machine, you must specify an external NTP server.
Step 2 On the First Node Configuration window, read the Warning and make sure you have correctly configured the publisher server. To continue with the installation of the subscriber server, click OK.
The Network Connectivity Test Configuration window displays.
Step 3 During installation of a subscriber server, the system checks to ensure that the subscriber server can connect to the publisher server.
•To pause the installation after the system successfully verifies network connectivity, choose Yes.
•To continue the installation with a pause, choose No.
The First Node Access Configuration window displays.
Step 4 Enter the connectivity information for the publisher server and choose OK.
The system checks for network connectivity.
If you chose to pause the system after the system successfully verifies network connectivity, the Successful Connection to First Node window displays. Choose Continue.
Note If the network connectivity test fails, the system always stops and allows you to go back and reenter the parameter information.
The SMTP Host Configuration window displays.
Step 5 If you want to configure an SMTP server, choose Yes and enter the SMTP server name.
Note To use certain operating system features, you must configure an SMTP server; however, you can also configure an SMTP server later by using the operating system GUI or the command line interface.
The Platform Configuration Confirmation window displays.
Step 6 To start installing the software, choose OK, or, if you want to change the configuration, choose Back.
Step 7 When the installation process completes, you get prompted to log in by using the Administrator account and password.
Step 8 Complete the post-installation tasks that are listed in the "Version 8.x Post-Installation Tasks" section.

  • Unity Connections - can I save my voicemail message locally as a .wav file?

Is this possible and if so how?
I am running Unity Connections v7 on a CMBE system.
If I have IMAP setup, is the message attached, or is it a link?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steven

    Steven,
Yes, this is most definitely possible. If you have IMAP set up then you are using "Integrated Messaging" and your email client is configured as an IMAP client with Unity Connection as the IMAP server. You may or may not be using the ViewMail plugin for your email client. If you are using ViewMail, the default behavior is that the media control used to play the voicemail message provides the option to "save as" a WAV file. If you don't have the ViewMail control loaded, then the file is simply seen as a WAV file attachment and will be played using a desktop media play that the user has selected to play files with the .WAV attachment.
Check this link for some useful background:

  • How to configure Engaged IVR on CUCM?

    Hi All,
I would like to configure an engaged IVR on general line number 9000 in CUCM, whenever people making calls to this number, if the receptionist is busy or on the other line, the caller will get the engaged IVR and the call will hang up.
The current setup for DN 9000 --> 9000 is a CTI Route Point in CUCM which point to the queue in Attendant Console, all the incoming calls will be dealt by CT Gateway Devices of the Attendant Console, receptionist with DN 8800 will login to the Attendant Console Client with this DN, so any calls to 9000 will be forwarded to 8800, and calls will be in the queue waiting to be answered by receptionist.
The engaged IVR is configured in Cisco Unity Connection as a System Call Handler Greeting with DN 1200.
With this setup, how can I configure the engaged IVR? I have tried to configure "forward busy" and "forward no answer" to 1200 on both 9000 and 8800, but still it is not working. Anyone can advise me on this?
    Thanks.

You need to set the Unity Connection parameter to Forward routing rules with Last redirect number on unity connection not the initial called.  I had this issue in the past and Jaime V pointed out that this is the expected behavior without modifying that parameter.  Just keep in mind that this is a global change.
Here is a post I had awhile ago that JaVa had helped me out with.

I've looked through my SIP trunk on the CUCM side and for Inbound Calls, Connected Line ID and Presentation Name are set to "allowed" or "default" doesn't make a difference. Oddly enough, I also noticed that in Unity Connection> Telephony Integrations > Port Group, if I change the Contact Line Name from nothing to "Unity" (or whatever), the Q931 debug outbound doesn't show ANY "Calling Party Numer - = XXXXX" and the carrier throws out the BTN as the ANI.

Any ideas on where/how CallerID comes from, on Unity Connection with a SIP integration?
    THANKS!!
    Mike.

I did not- my work around has been to put in a name for Contact Line Name under Port Group Basics Switch configuration in Unity Connection- this for some reason keeps CUCM from sending ANI TYPE/PLAN information in the Q931 message, and my carrier then sends a default ANI of the circuit's BTN. When I have time, I'll open up a TAC ticket.
