Changing your routers security to WEP seems to fix this issue.
WEP is a less secure protocal then WPA or WPA2.
You will have to weigh the security concerns vs the convience for your individual situation(s).

I have the curve 8520 but I think the settings should be the same. Go to manage connections, then select mobile network options. From there you should see 'connection preference'. Choose WIFI preferred then save. It should automatically connect to your home WIFI.

WEP aren't very secure. WPA2 are much more secure.

The password is set by whomever created your wireless network.
You'd need to contact that person(s) and have them provide the password for you.
Sometimes the password is on a sticker attached to your wireless router. I know Verizon does this with DSL and FiOS routers with WiFi capabilities.
You should not need any further information other than the password for your wireless network.
You probably don't need IP addresses or anything. Your wireless network is likely set up to provide all of that information to your iPod once you successfully connect to the wireless network.

Windows 7 laptops unable to connect to WiFi automatically

Hello All,
We are facing a wierd issue where the Windows 7 laptops are unable to connect to the corporate Wifi automatically.
We have pushed the profiles using Group Policy and there are about 15 profiles present on each laptop. The SSIDs are not broadcasted and PEAP is the authentciation method. While the Windows XP and some of the older Win 7 laptops connect fine the newer Dell 6410/20s doesnt. Upgrading the wireless card drivers hasnt made a difference.
I am posting this to know if anyone else on this forum has faced this issue and found a fix? Please suggest what could be the problem. Thank you in advance.

I am unable to set the policy to 2.4 only since there are a lot of APs sharing the controller and dont want to bump off all the clients that are able to client.
Today tried upgrading a cleints wireless NIC drivers and that didnt make much difference. And I am not seeing any debug output on the WLC for this client.
I think either some laptops are not probing actively or the WLC is ignoring the probe requests.
Could someone please guide how can i check if the laptops are sending probe requests for a particular SSID ??
I know it can be done using a wireless sniffer, but unfortunately i am not based onsite nor there is anyone onsite who can help.

is there anyone else with a Mountain Lion Mac and a TP-Link TL-WDR4300? I am almost sure that it's this combination that doesn't work. All other devices I have (Apple and non-Apple) can work perfectly on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, but the settings on the WiFi adapter on the Mac are the same for all Wireless networks, so I just don't get why it would work on 5Ghz but not on 2.4Ghz...

OSX Mavericks won't connect to Wifi automatically after recent (security) patch.

After the recent OSX Mavericks software update I am having wifi connectivity issues. My MBP (retina) won't connect to my preferred wifi automatically and I have to do it manually. Am I the only one having issues after the update and are there any fixes?

I am also having the same behavior, after updating to 10.9.3 WIFI won't reconnect.
I have to turn-off wifi, then turn-on wifi to get connected.

You can't use the E51 as a wireless gateway to allow the PC to connect to the internet through a wireless router.
The PC needs to be connected to the router via it's own wifi, not via the E51's.
So you need to buy a USB wifi adaptor for your PC, they don't cost very much nowadays. Contact a local computer store for assistance if you don't know what to buy.

I just downloaded Whatsapp and my understanding is that I can avoid data usage on my phone plan by switching over to wifi. My internet service is wifi so can I switch it over in settings?

Provided that your network is compatible, absolutely! To connect, open the System Preferences app from the Apple logo menu to the top left of the Menu Bar. im already connected to our wifi however once i went to the browser it says the radio on the device is currently turned off or the battery is too low for the radio to be used, as a result the batter cannot retrieve any web pages please turn the radio on or recharge the battery and try again... im sure its not the battery... please help... grrr..
