How to customize the applet's status bar in Oracle Forms 9i

I extended the statusBar class to include our own message in the applet's status bar. Using JDeveloper I compiled the class and jared the class file. Eventhough I placed that jar file in the classpath, it is not shown in the "import java classes" dialog box.Could anyone help me. Thanks in advance.

You cannot do any operation on forms label
other way is to use non-database Display items to show you text.... or if you are looking to hide the prompts of text fields then you can set it to null or hide the text item completely

How to display the report output from a customized Oracle Form button

I developed a customized oracle form and one customized report. I want to run report from oracle customized form, for this i use one button to submit concurrent request for request.
its successfully submitted and i can view output by using View ----> Request --------> Find -------------> Output...
But problem is that how can i view output by using button not doing all steps to view output.

Netflix app. How to make the battery/time status bar disappear?

When I watch a streaming movie on my iPad the little bar at the top of the window which shows wi-fi strength, time and battery status is constantly there and annoying. During one movie it disappeared and watching the movie was more enjoyable. I don't know why it disappeared and wondered if anyone has found a preference to make that bar go away when the movie is running? It can be done, I just don't know how.

How to display the report output from a standard Oracle Form

Dear Members,
I am calling a concurrent program (XML Report) from a standard form using form's personalization (special menu entry).
I am able to successfully submit the concurrent program. Once it is submitted successfully user need to navigate to the Requests window to see the output.
Instead of user navigating to the requests window to see the output, can we display it directly on the standard form itself after the completion of the report?

i copied ur code and tested it on my system(win 98 se with IE 5.5) it works fine.
I guess u might be using an older version of a browser thats why u r not able to view anything.it would be better if u mention the browser in which u tested ur code...
maybe ur browser doesnot have the latest plugin for java installed.

Status bar of Oracle from runtime applet is not displaying all of a sudden

The status bar of Oracle form runtime applet is not displaying all of a sudden..It was displaying before but now its not......It helps me to see errors......how can I restore it?

My console was set to a specific window name..it was not null at all....but the status bar wont show...
But I solved it ...by changing the applet size...
Applet container size is controlled by the HEIGHT and WIDTH parameters in the formsweb.cfg. To maximize the applet area to the size of the browser, do the following:
HEIGHT=100%
WIDTH=100%

10g Graphs - How to customize the default color of a Bar Graph

I've posted this thread in Reports section, have received no reply yet. Maybe no one has ever tried this before!!
I am porting a couple of 6i OGD's to 10g graphics.
Basically I am invoking reports from a form. The reports contains embedded Graph.
Here comes the tricky part.
I have a couple of Graphs in 6i that display each bar of a bar graph in different color.
Example:
Value       Bar Color
Critical     Red
Major       Orange
Minor       Yellow
None       GrayQ) I want to know how to set the color of each bar of a bar graph based on the value it takes. i,e If it's critical the bar should be displayed in red. If it's major, the bar should be displayed in orange.
I added conditional formatting in 10g Graph, and this is the trigger that was created.

Why don't you use the build-in charting capability of reports 10g instead? There is FormsGraph.jar implementation for forms but that might not have the flexibility of what 6i graphs has/had and not "officially" supported - not like the reports 10g charting capability (which is built in and can be customized by editing the related xml files (if necessary). Note: FormsGraph.jar has it's own limitations

Gantt chart- How to change the color of time bars of different versions

Hi All,
My Client wants to see all changes in planning schedule. I made different versions of these changes but he also want to see all these changes in gantt chart and in different colors. I tried to change the color in planning board assistant but in this screen (CJ27/ CJ2B). we cannot view all versions together. And if I use CN41, there I cannot change the colors of time bars.
Secondly, we can change colors of times bars of basic dates, forecast dates and actual dates but there is no provision to change the colors of schedule bars of different project versions. Kindly reply-
1. How to see all project versions in CJ27 or How to customise bar chart in cn41 or if we change in SPRO, then how to change graphic profile in project info profile
2. How to change colors of different time bars of different versions.
3. How to mention these legends (meaning of each color in chart) at footer of gantt chart (in print outs)

actually I've created new project planning board profile where planning board assistant is customized but unable to use this profile in CN41. we can change PS info profile in CN41 and that;s why I thought that planning board profile may be assigned somewhere in PS info profile so that changes in planning board assistant will be applied in CN41 through PS info profile. Graphic profile is too complex to understand and not sure if it will help to get colored time bars of projct versions in gantt chart. Still not clear.
Secondly not able to see all versions (snap shots) in gantt chart with different colors of time bars.
I mean planning board screen can be customized but we cannt see different versions here which are possible in CN41, but we cannt customize the gantt chart (time bars) in CN41. Pls help.

It depends on what you are taking a screen shot of. For example, if you are watching a video and the controls (and status bar) are visible, you can tap the screen to remove them and take you screen shot.

How to display a message on status bar while an LOV is active?

Can any suggest me that how can I display my custom message on the status bar of my form, while an LOV is displayed on the screen.
I populate an LOV in an Item in the form. I need my status bar to display a message while my LOV is Displayed and also this message to be there on the screen when we moves between the records on the LOV.
This can be partially achieved by 'message' built-in, but the text message so displayed disappears as soon as u move between the records displayed by the LOV.I want this to be retain there even when we move between records(the data displayed in the LOV) in LOV.
Can anyone suggest the solution?

hi i am not sure about displaying the information on status bar , what i feel is u can do something like this.
take one display item which shud be non database item and u can assign the message u want to display to this display item when ever u navigate thro' records.
i hope this can solve ur problem

I've been trying to customize the Message "No Row Returned" from a Report.
First i followed the instructions in Note:183131.1 -

But of course the OWA_UTIL.REDIRECT_URL in this solution did not work (in a portlet) and i found the metalink document 228620.1 which described how to fix it.
So i followed the "fix" in the document above and now my output is,..
"Portlet 38,70711 responded with content-type text/plain when the client was requesting content-type text/html"
So i search in Metalink for the above and come up with,...

And i've read it and read it and read it and read it and can't make heads or tails of what it's saying.
Every "solution" seems to cause another problem that i have to fix. And all i want to do is customize the Message "No Row Returned" from a Report. Please,...does anyone know how to do this?

My guess is that it only shows the number of rows it has retrieved. I believe the defailt is for it to only retrieve 50 rows and as you page through your report it retrieves more. So this would just tell you how many rows was retireved, but probably not how many rows the report would contain if you pages to the end. Oracle doesn't really have a notion of total number of rows until the whole result set has been materialized.

I know how to set up the Document Type with a customized layout but I do not know how to update the XML data that feeds the layout.
