Ipad2 gives me ""accessory is not supported" message w/ VGA adapter that I used lots of times before. Now it's not working. Why? and how do I get it back to normal functioning?
I used the (Apple branded) VGA adapter lots of times last year. Now I got back to one place I used it many times and it does not work. When I restart iPad with the adapter connected, I get the "accessory is not supported"message. But that same accessory WAS supported before.
This is very annoying as I planned a whole bunch of presentations starting this week to do with my iPad2 and that adapter.

I received the same error message, "Accessory Not Supported"  from both the VGA and DV video adapters I purchased, both were boxed direct from Apple. However, to bypass this problem I  simply clicked on Photos icon on iPad2 and flipped through photos until it displayed on my projector.  I then exited the Photos app and my home screen displayed fine on the projection screen.
Some logic issue with the video adapters, but launching Apple Photo app initializes the video adapters then they work fine for mirroring after that.
    Platform: iPad2
    IOS: 5.1.1
    Best regards!

  • "Cannot play video - The Connected display is not supported" error message using Netflix 5.0.2 on my iPad

I'm running iOS 7.0.3 on my iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd gen) and have just upgraded to the current version of the Neflix app available in the Canadian App Store (5.0.2).
Although all other apps I've tried (e.g. Podcast, VLC) are able to properly output video & audio directly to my TV using the HDMI adapter (i.e. NOT via an Apple TV), the Netflix app pops up the error message "Cannot play video - The connected display is not supported".  If I start a video and then plug the HDMI cable in, it will play for a few seconds and then halt with the same error message.
Netflix & Apple were supposed to have been working together to fix the previous issue with this scenario which was causing audio to be output but no video.  The current Netflix app update was released yesterday and seems to have taken a step backward.
When I contacted Netflix support, they indicated that they have done whatever can be done from their side and this is now Apple's issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hello all,
I have an iPad 2 16GB with iOS 7.0.3 and Netflix version 5.0.2. I cannot watch netflix on an External LCD monitor that I have through VGA out. I use bluetooth speakers, so the AirPlay is going to that for Audio. Before this update, this combo worked without an issue.
So as of Friday Nov. 8/2013, I contacted Netflix support, and they said they fixed the problem on their end, and the fix is on the Apple side of things, and to contact Apple support.
So, I contacted Apple support, and the first person I spoke to said I would have to agree to pay a $35 fee for 30 days of support to this problem since my unit is out of warranty. I said this isn't a hardware issue, it's a software issue, and I'm not willing to pay to fix a problem you created. So I got a Senior Level advisor on the line, and she was helpful, and she's looking into the issue for me and said she'll contact me sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday (Nov. 12 or 13) to let me know of the issue.
Here's the thing: this is a combination of Netflix and iOS not working correctly with any of the Apple Authorized Dongles. This is truly a code error that some hot shot programmer had major oversight on, and their management didn't catch it either. There was no reason for Netflix to rush to get this Netflix update going until Apple sorted out the bugs in iOS 7.
Anyway, if I hear anything from Donna (the advisor), I'll post it and let you guys know. In the mean time, good luck!

  • TS5148 When I try to play a movie on Netflix from my IPad, I get a pop up saying: Cannot play video. "The connected display is not supported".

When I try to play a movie on Netflix from my IPad, I get a pop up saying: Cannot play video. "The connected display is not supported".  I have updated my Apple TV, tried restarting it, and have tried using my IPod Touch all without any luck. This display has worked in the past. This just happen a couple days ago.
    Any ideas out there?

I have been successfully using my Apple TV with my iPad2 to access Netflix through airplay (mirroring) and suddenly it won't work.  It says "the connected display is not supported"  What's up?
Also when I try to stream Netflix through my Apple TV menu on my television it says "An error occurred loading this content.  Try again later.  But trying again later doesn't work any better.
Now the only way I can watch Netflix is using my small iPad screen.  It appears the problem is with streaming Netflix through my Apple TV

As per few posts on this forum (..you may use the Search Box at the top of this page to search yourself..) the reason may be a faulty Battery.. but a couple of those posts also mention that when the users once charged another good battery successfully.. the earlier battery also charged without problem afterwards..

The AirPort Extreme should work fine with BT Infinity (as it works with Virgin Media).

  • Mode Not Supported message on Sony BDPS3100 Bluray Player

    Hi,
I bought a Sony - Smart Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player Model: BDPS3100 last weekend. When I play any DVDs on this player, I get a message saying 'Mode Not Supported. Please change the resolution of the external device'. I have connected this to a Samsung 1080p LED TV through HDMI cable. I get Netflix and other apps displayed properly on the TV and it works great with Wi-Fi connectivity. The only issue is that it is not playing any DVDs. I tried playing the same DVD on my laptop and it worked. So no issues with the DVD. I tried connecting the HDMI to both HDMI1 and HDMI2 ports on the TV but still no luck. I also tried chaning the Output settings in the player to reduce the resolution to 780p and 480p as well, still no luck in playing the DVD. I have not tried a Bluray disk yet. Any pointers on how to get this fixed? Oh yeah, I've tried switching off the player and turning it on but with no luck. Read somewhere that holding the STOP button for 10 secs will make the player reset the settings and play the disk but that too didn't work. So am lost at this point on how to play DVDs on this player. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Do you have a laptop that has an HDMI in? Probably not, but just checking.
It may be a bad laser. Try a blu ray and see if that works

  • "Browser is not supported" message accessing a URL to an Image

    Hi.
I have a dynamically generated URL, which points to an image (GIF) created based on a BusinessGraphics chart.
When I access this URL with Internet Explorer (6.0.2900), no problem at all. The image loads and is displayed on IE. But, when I set this URL to be called from other sources (like an Adobe Interactive Form image field, or creating a inputstream based on this URL), the below message is displayed:
Sorry, your browser is not supported by Web Dynpro!
Is there a way to solve it? I need to display the image associated to this URL in Adobe Interactive Form.

  • Vga "mode not supported" message

I Own A power mac g4 and i havent booted it in about 4 years. I hooked it up via vga to my aoc envision hdtv L19W861. When ever I boot the system i can see the apple logo when it is loading. Then after the logo dissappears and the mac boots the message "mode not supported" pops up. Please help. I am planing to use the computer soon.

    Hello,
Sounds like a wrong resolution set, try booting up in Safe Mode, holding Shift key at bootup, then set a good resolution in System Preferences>Displays.

  • Apple TV - Nothing displaying "Mode not supported"

    Hi,
My Apple TV arrived today. I connected it all up using a HDMI-HDMI cable. I selected the HDMI channel on my TV (Samsung LE32R74BDX) but all i am getting is "No Signal"/"Mode Not Supported". I've tried the Menu and + to change the video settings but nothing comes up. Also tried restoring to factory settings with no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can try?
    Thanks
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I had the same problem initially, different TV
though. I was about to send it back when I realized
that the message was "Mode not supported" rather than
"No signal". While the TV manual was completely
unhelpful I assumed that the TV was getting a signal,
    just not one it supported.
I don't have the Apple TV manual with me but in the
troubleshooting section it give a remote combination
(I think it was menu and play) that causes the Apple
TV to cycle through all the modes it has for TV
    resolution.
When I did this I did finally hit on a resolution
(720p, which obviously was not the default) that
displayed the setup screen. I was using composite
not HDMI, but this may help since it wasn't obvious
    in the manual.
    It's worth a try.
The key combination is 'Menu' and '+' at the same time for 5-6 seconds.
The Apple TV will then cycle through the resolutions, when you get a picture you are happy with press 'OK'

  • Problems with new display, "Input not supported"

So, I just got myself a new LCD screen (Acer AL2016WCbd) for my G4 (DP 1Ghz Quicksilver 2002 w/ 10.5 installed). The monitor seems to work alright and everything with my Windows box, but whenever I try to use it with my G4 the monitor goes black, flashes an error box saying "Input not supported," and then goes to sleep. It does show the boot screen... the gray background and Apple logo... but goes black after that.
I've tried rebooting, resetting the PMU, tried booting in Single User and Verbose mode, tried hooking the G4 up to another monitor and lowering the resolution to 800x600 @ 75Hz and then reconnecting the Acer, but no dice.
My only other ideas are to try hooking it up over DVI instead of VGA (though I'd need to get an adapter for that); playing around with a few different things in target disk mode by hooking it up to my laptop (which I don't currently have); and trying to boot from my Leopard install disk (when I find it). Might any of these things do any good? Is there anything else I haven't thought of? Or am I just wasting my time?

OK, so I can get the display working if I first boot up with another display, set the resolution to whatever I want it to be, then hotswap in the Acer that's been giving me the problems. But once I restart my computer I have to go through the whole process again. Either the tower isn't picking up on the display profile from the monitor or the monitor just isn't sending it to the tower.
My question now is: is there a way to for me to lock the resolution and refresh rate, so it always outputs at, say, 1680x1050 at 60Hz? Both Newegg and Acer have been giving me all kinds of (excuse me here) sh** about how they can't help me, so I really don't want to deal with them anymore by having to return/exchange the monitor or get it serviced. I mean, I know the thing works and I know the resolution I want it to run at. I just want to be able to lock it so Leopard doesn't revert to some unsupported output every time I reboot.

  • Suddenly " display does not support HDCP " - March 2014

Hello Sky peoples Having had no trouble with my Sky+ HD and my LG TV for months and months I am now getting this "does not support HDCP" dialog every time I switch on. The TV was on then suddenly it blacked out and wouldnt restart - so I had to de-power at the socket. After restart, this error dialog always appears - and no HDMI signal I have tried all the remedial actions, power-down restarts, cable switchovers, updated box software, unplug/replug The display still works fine on bluray and xbox 360The sky box is still putting out a signal on composite video. yinch'14

    Hi there Yinchy,
Thank you very much for joining us on the community forum and posting your query.
I am extremely sorry to see that you are experiencing this issue.
There are a number of things that you can do to try to resolve this.
    Firstly, Reset the HDMI signal.
    Using the Sky remote:
    1) Press Standby on the Sky remote. Standby light displays.
    2) Switch off the power supply or remove the plug at the mains socket.
    3) Switch connection equipment to standby and disconnect at the mains socket.
    4) Confirm no lights remain on the Sky box or any connected equipment.
    5) Wait 60 seconds, then switch the TV on at mains socket.
    6) Switch the TV to the correct HDMI or DVI input.
    7) Switch the Sky box on at the mains socket.
    8) Wait 2 - 4 minutes after the standby light displays.
    9) Switch on all connected equipment at the mains socket.
    10) Press Sky to switch on the Sky box. The green light displays.
Please let me know how you get on with this and I will be able to help you further if required.
    Many Thanks,
