I just purchased a 17.3" screened-laptop using MS Outlook and Explorer 9 Browser. I cannot use Firefox as my default Browser because I cannot get Firefox to fill up my screen.When I open up Firefox, it maintains a large 3" margin on the left and right sides which does not exist when I open up Explorer 9. Increasing the font size only increases the text size vertically but does nothing to decrease the margin size horizontally.

If the icons are from dmg files that were used to install 3rd party apps like this one for VueScan
Control (right) - click on the open dmg icon and select "Eject xxxx" from the contextual window.
Then find the actual dmg file associated with those icons
and drag to the Trash in the Dock and empty.

Left and right side of screen does not register mouse clicks.

The left and right side of my screen (when maximized) does not register a mouse click. I would estimate about 10 to 15 pixels in (top to bottom) before a button will register a click.
If I work with in firefox not maximized everything works fine. As it stands I have had to add buttons to the left and right side of my Firefox navigation area to utilize the back and home button. I am also not able to use my scroll bar do to this situation with out connecting an external mouse.

Computer: HP TouchSmart tm2 (1070us series)
This laptop does have the touchpad type mouse, I do not think this is the problem though as it will work if firefox is not maximized.

Not sure if its ever overheated... I've never left it in a hot car if thats what you mean. Sometimes it gets very hot if I'm using EDGE for a while. I don't push hard which is why I don't think I caused it...
I will bring it in this weekend and see what they say.
I also think that the speakerphone sounds fuzzy and muffled a lot more than it did when I first bought it. So just another reason to bring it in.

If you mean there are parts of the picture at the sides you want to remove, you have at least 2 choices.
You can mask the edges of the frame or enlarge it so that the left and right sides are outside the picture area.
The latter suggestion will reduce the quality of the video and you will also lose an equal amount from the topand bottom, though you could slide the image up or down.

Just press F11 on your keyboard to exit full screen mode.

You can highlight random points in DIAdem as well.
Here is an example:
Use the cursor to move to the point you wish to highlight.
Press the "Set Data Point and Flag" icon on each data point you wish to highlight
When you are done selecting points, press the "Flags: Copy Data Points" icon - that will copy all X/Y coordinates into two new channels
I created a REPORT Layout using the original data and the highlighted random points (I added the actual point Z-value above the point, they look strange when written at the exact point). I attached the layout for your reference.
The complete task took 3 minutes from loading the data to finishing and exporting the REPORT layout. If you have a REPORT layout already, this will take less than 30 seconds ...
I am not familiar with Matlab, so I can't compare how this works in DIAdem vs. Matlab. You can add the combine the complete process in a Script and it will automatically create this kind of report after simply selecting a few data points in VIEW and then pressing a button ...

How do I apply effects equally to the left and right channels.

I am an intermittent user of Sound Track Pro. I've made some cool audio beds with it in the past but right now I'm having two problems since I have not used it in so long and never was pro with it to begin with.
1. Seems like the lift and stamp tool only works in multi-track mode and not in the wave editor.
2. so I put my file in the wave editor to redo the effects from scratch there but now I don't know how to apply them equally to the left and right channels.

Thank you! One more question: I've got quite a bit of interview tape and would like to increase the playback speed to 1.5X or 1.75 x so that I can get through everything faster. Is there a way to set it at those tempos? I only see the 2X, 4X, 6X, etc. options, but these are too fast and I can't understand what is being said. Is there a way to set this to 1.5X the original speed?

FF 3.15 worked perfect with Snow Leopard. But everything after that, till FF 8, crashes left and right. On Facebook. And on ALL different language websites. Should I stop using FF? Heard Chrome is good.

It is super frustrating. Same problem in my wife's Mac as well.
Should I stop using FF? I heard Chrome is good.

How to fill a 16:9 screen with a 2:3 still photograph?

Hello there,
I am editing a project that combines a large amount of still images and some video. I want to be able to bring images onto the timeline without havig to crop every picture so that it fits the 16:9 ratio. When I add the image into the timeline, the screen always displays black edges on the right and left edges, instead of filling the frame fully with the image I am adding.
I know that I am importing the right amount of pixels in the image, so it should be large enough to be used across the screen. And I don't understand why is the project not filling the entire screen. I just want to avoid the hassle of having to pull the corners in every picture to make it fit the full screen. Any ideas?

Once you have one re-sized, "control+click" the clip > Copy > Select the rest of the images in the timeline > "control+click" on one of them > Paste Attributes > check basic motion > OK
That should ease the pain a bit.

Cp 8 - How to add ppt slides to an existing project with space to the left and right ?

After much trial and error, i know exactly what I want. The priority for me is clear and unscaled captured video, and my project resolution shall be 1260x700.
now, i want to bring my ppt slides in and respect the aspect ratio- this means that there will be blank space to the left and right of the slides. The active area of the ppt slide should be about 700 h and 4/3 * 700 width. To avoid scaling, i would love them to be 699 x 932 and have the areas to the left and right blank. i am also willing to make my project 1260x702.
The objective here is to avoid scaling. I have seen that things look great when scaling is avoided.

Is it possible to disable the left and right 10% of the screen?

I know that in the home menu, iOS ignores the 20% or so of the margins if your thumb is there, so that you can use another finger to operate it even with a thumb touching the screen.
Is it possible to disable some portion of the screen to touch? Reading a book, etc, would be much more comfortable if I were able to hold the iPad more inward.
