How to handel charecters

Hi Gurs,
I am working on Module pool programming , in one screen i have search help , user must enter alfa-numeric or numeric , otherthan user enters then system raise a error message like 'can't enter Charecter's as input'.
How can i handel this in program .

case1.
parameters : v(10) type n.

u cannot enter the input as the datatype will not allow you to enter .
case2.
parameters : v(10) type n.

execute with input as 123abc "all apha num input ..
result :123 and no char as input .
u cannot enter the input 'abc' as the datatype will not allow you to enter .
case 3.
parameters : v(10) type c.
write:/ v.
now f8
execute with input as 123abc "all apha num input ..
possible .
ans: 123abc.
so in ur module pool program convert the numc datatype to char to eliminate this .
once the datatype is converted to char in the field attributes then u can enter alpha numeric inputs or numeric inputs .

in PI in ID in your comm channel, you have a property content encoding where you can specify the characater encoding of your msg being sent or recived by PI.............
moreover for some adapters you have some module properties in which you can set the character encoding of your msg in PI in ID..........

The native XML driver is incompatible with ADO.NET DataSet XML. The specific issue is that the driver cannot handle the recursive definition on "Schema" that the .NET DataSet XML uses.
The workaround is to create a .NET class that Web References, invoke the Web Service method for the DataSet, then returns it.
Use the ADO.NET (XML) driver in Crystal Report to consume the .NET data source.
Note - when you deploy your report, ensure you deploy the DLL for the .NET class you've created.

I have to calculate the Production Line Hours, based on the following calculation.
Now i have to input the value in the INFOOBJECT LINEHOUR1 based on the following calculation.
400 / 3500 = 0.114 (ALLOWED_TIME of every line item has to be divided with TOTAL ALLOWED_TIME)
500 / 3500 = 0.142
100 / 3500 = 0.028
1100 / 3500 = 0.314
.........so on
The workcenter is different is two blocks of example data, and hence to be calculated differently.
Now how to achive this,

I want to make you more clear about the problem.
We are calculating based on the following combinations.
PLANT--RUNDATE-WORKCENTER-SHIFT-----PRODUCTTYPE
We have three different Plants.
Rundate is assume as the Calday.
We have 18 Workcenters.
Each Workcenter can have 3 shifts maximum.
And in every sift there would be 3 to 4 product types produced.
So what i mean to let you know is, the calculation is not based on WORKCENTER, where as it is based on all the five(5)
characteristics combination.
The total allowed time will be calculated based on PLANT......RUNDATE......WORKCENTER....SHIFT.
We normally calculate the linehour with the below formula...
(ALLOWED TIME/ TOTAL ALLOWED TIME) * (SHIFTTIME - DOWN TIME - BREAK TIME).
So i have all the information in the line item level except the TOTAL ALLOWED TIME.
Now i want to insert a new column in the CUBE and wanted to have the TOTAL ALLOWED TIME in every line item,
might not seem to be a good idea, but just let me know how to do it.

How to handel advancde customer payment

some process requires advance payment for several DBM-Orders in advance.
When the customer comes with a vehicle he should be able to consume this advance payment.
Have anyone realized this requirement?
Please have someone an idea how to handle this?

Downpayments from DBM as an event are order specific, but to my limited FI knowledge, you can create downpayments in FI directly and that you can use for multiple orders when performing the steps as in cashdesk.
Please check with your FICO consultant, they should be able to pitch in with more information, Coz in ERP projects also, people use Downpayments and that would be settled after invoice is raised / when collections are collected.
At the end of the process in DBM, all billing documents can be accessed as SD Invoices and the cash desk functionality is an addendum to the standard collections transactions.

CUP - How to handel requests with no auto provisioning

Dear Friends,
We are not using Auto-Provisioning in our CUP component.
We don't know how to handle a situation when although the request was approved at all stages, the provisioning it self (which is executed manually) does not happen (for example, the security manger forgot to do the changes).
How can we detect those differences ?
And if we did detect them, is there a possibility to add some comments to a request that was fully approved.

Not exactly. It is some manual work.
CUP>>Informer>>Provisioning
Run these two reports (select specific period):
Role Assigned / Removed
User Processed
Run t-code RSSCD100_PFCG_USER (You find this repot in SUIM).
Use the same period as above.
Export the report to Excel. If many entries, create a function to compare the results orilter the result by Action and compare to CUP reports.

How count .txt charecters???

Hello,
I make a .txt file from a java (dos only) program i make. Let's say i name the file file.txt. After i write in file.txt this phrase "This is an example".
Now i want to do something and program print file.txt charaters.
In the example i made must print the number 18 as "This is an example" is 18 characters.
The file.txt is not bytes (I mean that when i open it directly show characters and not bytes or unicode. Show exactly what i write in it.)
Please can you inform me how can I do this thing?

In that example the variable str is a line in the text file represented as a String. Now read through the link I provided of the String class; it is the official documentation which tells you everything about the String class. You should take a look at the methods from the String, there's one which returns the length of a String (in your case a line from your textfile).
Now before you post another question, please give it a try yourself: first try reading a textfile correctly. After you've got that, add a variable to your application like int numberOfCharatcers which will count the total number of characters from your text file.

Our warehouse is managed by warehouse management and we face a problem when one of the stock keepers post goods issue with reference to sales order from the warehouse while another on is performing a goods receipt at the same time and the same batch the system issue the following message
Batch xxx of material y is already locked by user
Message no. M3682
Diagnosis
You want to process a batch that is already being processed by another user.
System Response
A batch cannot be processed by more than one user at the same time. To prevent data inconsistencies, the batch record is locked for processing.
And this locking cause a delay to our work
So is there any way to solve this problem in the warehouse management so that the 2 stock keepers can do their work in the same time without locking

BADI MATERIAL_READ method LOCK_BATCH_MASTER

go to OMJI to Activate late lock for goods movement
step 2 assign Methods
Activate BADI BATCH_MASTER for method LOCK_BATCH_MASTER_IN_MIGO
method IF_EX_BATCH_MASTER~LOCK_BATCH_MASTER_IN_MIGO.
C_LOCK_MODE = 'S'.

Step 3:
go to SE18 Activate BADI MATERIAL_READ for method LOCK_BATCH_MASTER
after that test 3 user make goods movement for the same batch, same plant and in the same time you can post goods movement Successfully.
Test Goods movement through MIGO, VL32N and VL02N, all user post Successfully.

How to handel duplicate record by bcp command

Hi All,
I`m using BCP to import ASCII data text into a table that already has many records. BCP failed because of `Duplicate primary key`.
Now, is there any way using BCP to know precisely which record whose primary key caused that `violation of inserting duplicate key`.
I already used the option -O to output error to a `error.log`, but it doesn`t help much, because that error log contains the same error message mentioned above without telling me exactly which record so that I can pull that `duplicate record`
out of my import data file.

The only way of figuring out what PKs conflicted I know of is to load the data to a different table and then run an INNER JOIN select between the two.
BCP.exe is not part of SSIS technically, don't know why you are posting in this section of the forum.

Currently I am working with SAP EP7.0 Web application Server, and now I am implementing model by using Web Services.
I imported the Web Services model successfully but when i execute this i got Exception like:
Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://suresh:50100/EmpMaintenanceWS/Config1?style=document".
Note: EmpMaintenance is my Web Service.
I have the table in Database(Employee Maintenance Table), I got this exception when i want to save these details in Database. I got the values in UIElements of table but I didn't got this in Databsae.
Could anybody help me to resolve this bug please!.

As Manoj rightly said, please check the Web Service first through navigator.
The error that you have mentioned, comes when the Web Service is a Secure Web Service, ie authorization is required to access the functionality of the Web Service. This can be verified, by access the Web Service thru Navigator.
If, the Web Service is Secure, then you can use the following piece of code, to set the Username and Password.
wdContext.node<Model_node_name>().current<Model_node_name>Element().modelObject()._setUser("<Username>");
wdContext.node<Model_node_name>().current<Model_node_name>Element().modelObject().._setPassword("<Password>");

I am new to JSF and I am facing a problem while validating a field the field is an accepts int value, so i am able to check if the value entered is an int or not and even it is greated than 0 or not, but when i try to check it with a blank value or null I am getting the following error --
