How to hide/show reports region with radio group selections

Hi, I have an HTML region with a radio group of two choices (Rpt1 and Rpt2). Also got two other report regions which depend on the radio group selections and by pressing a button it will display records.
Everything does work perfect BUT say I select Rpt1 and press the report button it will show the records and after that if I select the Rpt2 radio button I still see the result of Rpt1 records. How can I clear or hide the reports regions when I change my radio button selection?
Thank you
-iahmadi

Hi,
You can create HTML regions that do not need to contain anything at all (use the "No Template" region template to ensure that you don't see a region Title on the page).
However, in order to get this region to be displayed until the Report button is clicked, you would need to have a hidden page item (called, say, P1_SHOW_REPORT) that has, as a default, 0 as a value. The branch that is triggered by the Report button would then set this item to 1 - so, 0 = hide and 1 = show
On your page you should have a branch that is conditional on the Report button being clicked. On this branch, set the first "Set these items" to P1_SHOW_REPORT and "With these values" to *1*. You should also have a branch on the page that is unconditional - meaning that it can be triggered by anything that submits the page. Firstly, this branch should have a high Sequence Number (say, 99) and secondly, should should set the value of P1_SHOW_REPORT to *0*. So the Report button sets it to 1 and anything else (which will include the radio button selections) will reset it to 0.
Now, on your regions you have to change the conditions slightly as we now have two conditions to check - which report has been selected and whether or not the Report button has been clicked.
This can be done by using a SQL Exists condition of something like:
SELECT 1 FROM DUAL WHERE :P1_SHOW_REPORT = 1 AND :P1_RADIO = 'ABC'(where ABC is the value for the radio button for the report
The "blank" region would also have a condition - that would be a simple Item = Expression 1 condition of P1_SHOW_REPORT = 0

  • OS 10.10 how to hide/show a folder with a password using terminal

    In Yosemite 10.10.2 Terminal Can you please tell me how to hide/show with a password then show again on already existing folder created on a system drive and also an external drive. Please provide the path text to folder name "wbfiles". Thank you Winwoodb

    You can drag it from one place on a drive to another.  If you are moving it from one drive to another then it copies it.  If you are moving it on the same drive and are getting that message then not being able to move the folder is the least of your problems.  Free up space immediately because your computer is about to crash and probably lose files.  Then you'll have lots of space.

  • How to hide a  report region on a page

    Hello,
    I have a page divided with 5 regions ( report region).
    Is it possible to not show a region when the page is loaded iif the query is not returning any results?
    thanks

    Hi,
    Yes, you can conditionally show regions.
    Go edit your report region and set Condition Type "EXISTS (SQL query returns at least one row).
    And in Expression 1 place
    SELECT 1 FROM
    ( paste your query here )Between bracket place your query.

  • How to use a 'Percentofsum' function with a group selection

    Hi All!
    I have created a report using CR XI in which I select on certain records in a database and then further select on those records using a group selection. The displayed records in the subgroup are correct. I sum these totals of the grouping using a formula (Basically 3 formulas, one for Reset, another for the calculation, and the third for the display) since if I just use the 'built in' summary function it will still total all records that were selected before the group selection. My dilemma is that I need to get a percentage of the subtotal based on the total of that grouping. Below is an example of the layout of the report:
                                                                                __Dept %_            Program Bugt             Prgm % of Dept Bud              Cost of %_
    GH#1    ADMIN                                                        100%
    GF#2    LEGAL                                                                                448694                          4.22%                                 12382
    GF#2    CITY MGR                                                                               445414                          4.19%                                 12294
    GF#2    CITY CLERK                                                                           113075                          1.06%                                  3110
    GF#2    COM PROMO                                                                          391657                         3.69%                                  10827
    GF#2   CENTRAL                                                                               1430570                         13.46%                                 39492
    GF#1                                                                      293406                 2829410                                                                      78105
    The "2829410"  is the Display formula I used to accurately calculate the listed program budget numbers. The 3 formulas I used to get that number is a Reset formula (whileprintingrecords;Numbervar W := 0;) located in GH#1, a Calculation formula (whileprintingrecords;Numbervar W := w + Sum ({@Next Year Budget Amount}, {gl_master.a_org}); ) located in GF#2, and a Display formula (whileprintingrecords;Numbervar W;W) located in GF#1. The percentages that currently display in the "Prgm % of Dept Bud" are wrong as they use the 'built in' PercentofSum function when you right click on the filed in the details section and select summary as a percentage of. I need a formula that would do the following calculation: 448694/2829410 = 15.85% and thus the "Cost of %" formula that would do the following calculation: 293406*.1585 = 12382.
    I tried using a similar "Reset", "Calculation", and "Display" formulas but I cannot get to work correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    P.S. The reason I am using a group selection is because it is easier than listing out all the accounts (departments) that I do not want in the report and that selection could change from time to time where as what is in the group selection would never change.
    Sorry for long winded explanation.

    Read all about it.
    You'd probably have to write a little wrapper (using JNI) that passes
    parameters and return values around between your C function and
    the JVM.
    kind regards,

  • How to handle the current row with radio button selection???

    Hi Everyone,
    I have one ADF page with one table and one "Find" button.
    I have created one new attribute with VARCHAR2(1) in the VO and dragged that attribute as first column in the table. And changed that first column to Radio Button to select only one row at a time.
    Upon clicking on the "Find" button i need to get the values of current selected row.
    How can i get the values of selected row?
    What code should i write to get the values of selected row in Method Binding of "Find" button?
    Any suggestions will be really useful.
    Thanks.

    Hello Kumar,
    I have some comments on your case.
    >
    I have created one new attribute with VARCHAR2(1) in the VO
    >
    1- You should create this attribute in the Entity object and then add it to the view object.
    2- Do you need that only one radio button is set at a time for all rows ? If yes then you need to handle the case when the user set more than one row and clear the value of the attribute for all other rows.
    >
    How can i get all the values of current row in backing bean method(method binding of Find method)?
    can u plz provide me the code for that?
    >
    If you mean by the current row is that the row with its value of the selected attribute is set (the radio button is set for that row), then you can write a method in the viewObjectImpl class and expose it to client interface and call it from your bean.
    here is an example based in Department table in HR schema.
    //This method is written in DepartmentsViewImpl
    public Row getSelectedRadioRow(){
                //create a second row set to not impact the row set used in ADF
                RowSet duplicateRowSet = this.createRowSet("duplicateRowSet");
                //get the current row of the table to set it back after re-executing the VO
                DepartmentsViewRowImpl currentRow = (DepartmentsViewRowImpl)this.getCurrentRow();
                Row[] filteredRows = duplicateRowSet.getFilteredRows("IsSelected", "1");
                DepartmentsViewRowImpl row=null;
                if(filteredRows.length>0){
                    row = (DepartmentsViewRowImpl)filteredRows[0];
                    System.out.println("Department Name " + row.getDepartmentName());
                this.setCurrentRow(currentRow);
                duplicateRowSet.closeRowSet();
                return row;
            }

  • Report region with sql query

    Hi
    I have a report region with sql query. There are two regions in page. On top of page, user enters data and after that second region show enterd data which is report region
    based on sql query.
    Now,when this page is opned, as user had not entered any thing, report region shows "no data found" message. Is it possible to remove that message or
    may i conditionally disaply report region i.e if data is inserted then only report region is dispalyed.
    Thanks

    >
    i was trying with select count(1) in expression.
    >
    Just for your info, COUNT() (without any grouping obviously) with always return 1 row. If there are no result for the query then 1 row will be returned with a value of zero - so there are results returned.
    Secondly, why were you using COUNT(1) rather than COUNT(*)? That is is faster is a very common misconception and not true. If you need to know how many rows have been returned, use COUNT(*). If you need to take nulls into account (ie. not include them in your count) then use COUNT(column_name) and name the column that you are interested in specifically.

  • How to Hide/show the columns data while doing Drill down or drill up

    Hi ,
    How to Hide/show the columns data while doing Drill down or drill up in webi report .
    Does it possible BO 3.1 version ?
    Please suggest me on this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Venkat

    While that is not there yet, you can make use of the show when empty yes/no in combination with alerters.
    So I have an alerter applied to every cell of the table.
    When a condition is true (say I drilled down) I just put = "" in every cell, emptying the table,
    because its now empty and doesn't need to show, it wont.
    For the detail table I use the opposite, so when you drilled down it becomes visible...
    Hope this helps all that do not have 40 yet
    Good luck,

  • How to hide/show dashboards for user/groups

    Hi,
    Please help on how to hide/show dashboard menu/sub menu to users/groups based on their profile settings.
    thanks in advance.
    regards,
    kumar.

    Hi Jinu,
    1) Do some or all of those subreports span multiple pages?
    2) Do each of the Subreports start on a new page?
    If yes, for both, then here's what you need to do:
    1) Create a formula (@True) with this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus:= True
    2) Create another formula (@False) with this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus:= False
    Drag and drop the @True formula on the details sections for which you want the Page Footer to be suppressed.
    Similarly, drop the @False formula on the details sections for which you want the Page Footer to show up.
    Then, go to the Section Expert > Select Page Footer c > Click the formula button beside Suppress and use this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus;

  • How to hide/show chart at runtime

    Hi All,
    Can anyone help me in how to Hide/Show a chart at runtime.
    Thanks & Regards
    K.Srinivas

    Hi
    THere is simple way of doing it. Follow the steps below -
    1. Create 'Radio Button' in another form.
    2. Create 2 buttons in it e.g - 1=Show & 2=Hide.
    3. THen there is option as 'Visibility Condition' on Chart 'Properties'.
    4. Write condition as - IF('Form Tech name'@ST1=="1",true,false)
    here ST1 is tech name of the radio button you can select it in formula option.
    5. Then make 1 or 2 as default value.
    You can change radio button at run time & you can show or hide the chart.
    Let me know if you have any issue.

    Use BCC.   That's blind carbon copy.   And copy paste the address into the BCC field.  It really depends what e-mail program you use how to enable BCC.

  • How to go about multiple inclination with different data selection in Delta

    We have to copy large amount of data ( more than 42lak of recodes) selectivly from on ODS to other ODS. in delata load ( BW 3.5 enverioment)
    I thought of loading data in slices through delta loading with selection condition.
    step 1> Do The initialization with selection condition as for calyear =2001 ( Init without data transfer )
    step 2> Take the delta load .. it will take all delta record with same selection
    step 3> Now I want to do Initialization with selection condition as for calyear =2002
    step 4> take the delta now it will take delta for year 2001 and 2002 both Right ?
    Here what problem I am facing.. while doing 2nd time initialization it prompt me to delete the last  initialization request form scheduler menu.
    if i delete the last request .. will it take the delta  for previous initialization selection  and new initialization selection. ?
    Please advice how to go about multiple inclination with different data selection in delta loading.
    Looking forward your reply.

    Hi,
    step 1> Do The initialization with selection condition as for calyear =2001 ( Init without data transfer )
    step 2> Take the delta load .. it will take all delta record with same selection

    step 4> take the delta now it will take delta for year 2001 and 2002 both Right ?
    You are correct with this scenario normally. The message you mentioned normally comes up when you open a infopackage and don't change the selection first or in case you have overlapping selections with an already done init.
