The rollover button included in the Forms 9i demos (http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/forms/content.html) enables you to implement either rounded buttons or buttons with a rollover image. Documentation about how to do it is included in the doc subdirectory of the rolloverbutton directory in the demos.

This is achieved using CSS as in http://www.webfonts.info/sites/default/themes/wf2/css/style.css?S and down to /* gallery listing page */
Each of the ID's starting with #gallery-listing performs part of the effect.

You can create a report that exports automatically to CSV - see Downloading of Selected Records to the Excel (this uses checkboxes for filters, but ignore those bits!)

How to link rollover buttons to iWeb pages?

I've made my roll over buttons, their all ready and set up but I can't link them to my other iweb pages. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I tried publishing the site and setting it to link to url.com/blah (example!) but that doesn't work, it says the page doesn't exist.
It's so simple to link when it's just a picture, why is this so difficult

There are two types of links you can use for linking pages of a website - relative and absolute.
When you choose "Link to: One of my pages" in the Link inspector this creates a relative link.
When you choose to link to an external page you need to enter the full URL to the published page into the box in the Link inspector. Example...

How to implement a button function to trigger several buttons

Hi All, I have 6 buttons "Read" in front panel, each of them works seperately. In the block diagram, each button is inside an event.
Now if I want to create a new button, that by clicking it, all these 6 buttons can be triggered, how can I do it?

How to implement the + button logic in OA Framework

I'm new to OA Framework. I have to develop a master and detail relationship page and in the master task (onto the left) there should be a (+) button on click of that button all the details (lines) for that particular master should be displayed. On click of (-) button all details (lines) under master should be rolled up. Could anyone help me out in developing this page.

In case of master and detail relationship scenario, it is better to use the Hgrid component. Another component to use can be Tree. Check the dev guide for details but in short:
A Tree is generally used when you want to put emphasis on the hierarchy and the relationship between different sets of objects in a hierarchy. A HGrid is more appropriate when you want to display the hierarchy, but also give more detailed information at each node of the hierarchy.

Judging by the source code of RolloverButton.java, it looks like that demo will always use rounded buttons.
If you want normal shaped buttons, then you should modify RolloverButton.java or create your own Java class based on it and change it. The change should be to not use setLeftmost(true) and setRightmost(true). By setting them to true you are telling the button to treat the button as if it's the leftmost or rightmost button, which will round that end (or both).

How to use one button rollover symbol to create 100 graphically different buttons

I do know how to create a button rollover symbol.
I don't know how to make that button rollover symbol reuseable. I'd like to put 100 different images in 100 copies of the button. I'd rather not make new symbols for every button, since the rollover animation may change.
Symbol "Accessibility" allows the title to be changed for copies of the symbol. Does similar functionality exist for bitmaps used in the symbol?
Could the copied button bring in new graphics from the timeline in another symbol or a xml sheet?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been following tutorials, except none of them cover this situation.

I have 2 samples for you that are very similar.
1- uses the symbol with no image and loads the image as a background-image for the div.

Rollover Buttons: How to add an indicator to my buttons?

Hello again-
I'm using the button widget to make a rollover button, but I would like to add a little colored square to my button to show the reader what page he's on. In other words, if he's on the home page, and he clicks the Contact Page link, when the Contact page loads, I want the Contact Page button in the menu to display a little colored square. Know what I mean? How do I do this?

Why do you use an input text if the use can't enter text in it?
If the width of the input text is fixed, you can write a bean method which returns width-3 chars from the text and add '...' and use an EL to shoe it in the ui.
Or you add an output text behind the input text showing '...' when the length of the text is bigger then the width of the input field. Put an EL on the visible property of the output text to only sore it then.

Instead of a contacts button, you need to enable the Share button
From your Safari menu bar click View > Customize Toolbar
Drag the Share icon right up to the menu bar (same the address bar, not Favorites)

How can I center rollover buttons floating within the main frame?

This is actually for GoLive, but I hope someone can help!
My site used to auto-size and I just removed that annoying feature and used the Frame Inspector to Center the page.
This worked for the boxes contained within the frame but NOT for the floating rollover buttons which still align LEFT.

You're using Absolute Positioning which is well... absolute. By that I mean everything is positioned relative to the top left corner of browser viewport. By itself, APDivs can't be centered which is why you're having trouble. You would need to wrap your page content inside a CSS container that has relative positioning; a width in px, em or %; a margin-left and margin-right of auto (browser determined margins).
Try adding this to your CSS:
body {
position:relative;
width: 960px;/**adjust width as needed**/
margin:0 auto; /**centered in modern browsers**/
text-align: center /**centered in older browsers**/

A Rollover Button

I have made a bitmap image into a rollover button - reason - so that when the mouse rolls over the hit area of the button/image/thumbnail - it becomes larger on the stage and when the mouse moves outside the paramaters of the larger picture it goes back down to the original button/image/thumbnail size.
That works fine.
However . . . there is always a however. When I implemented the same functions to the other thumbnails on the stage - if I rollover the second thumbnail - the other thumbnails show up (through) on top of that enlarged image.
I thought it was an 'order of layer problem' but that didn't fix it no matter how much I switched the layers around.
I guess, like always, I'm missing one simple step.
Can you help?

In looking back I can't see what would have led me to think you were using AS2 instead of AS3... maybe it was just the term 'rollover'. If you are using AS3 then you can look into either of the two things you found, or look into setChildIndex()... setChildIndex may be the easier to work with because you can set it to the highest child depth ((numChildren-1) and not have to chase specific instances. If you look up setChildIndex in the help docs you'll see it discusses exactly what you are trying to do (I think).
