Including a jar file inside an executable jar file

Is it possible to include a jar file inside another (executable) jar file such that the included file is part of the class path for the outer file? If so, how do you specify this in the classpath in the manifest?

How to include external files like image or javascript in to jsp pages.
I am using MVC frame work. So i have to use request dispatcher. While calling the pages trough dispatcher the external files are missing from the output. Also am using tomcat as server,web.xml(deployment descriptor ) is also configured.

When you use the request dispatcher, the relative path for all your ressources becomes the relative path of your calling serlvet and not the JSP/servlet that you call. Make sure to use the full relative path such as:
/PATH_TO_YOUR_DIRECTORY/myRessource.ext
NOT
SOME_DIRECTORY/myRessource.ext

I'm using a file adapter for process a flat file and convert it into an XML. Does anybody knows how to include the file name into an XML field.
Ex.
I process the file named <b>XXIMN21022007.txt</b> and I need an XML like:

Just go for dynamic configuration.
Check the sender file adapter to write the filename in the header (as explained in Michal's blog) and then read that header in some mapping.
U can use that even in simple message mappings.

In addition to providing a framework for simplifying server-side form data validations, Validator provides an easy-to-use mechanism for performing client-side validations. Each validation routine defined in the validator-rules.xml file optionally specifies JavaScript code that can be run in the browser (client side) to perform the same validations that take place on the server side. How to package resource files for iPad app along with ipa file

Hello,
I am developing an app for iPad in Flash Builder 4 and Packager for Iphone.
I want to keep my xml-asset files local to the app. When I run my app in flash builder, I load the resources locally.
When I upload the same onto iPad, I need to package the resource files along with the ipa file.
I tried compiling the air-project with "-include-file" compiler option, but in vain.

Of particular interest is the line:
"3. It moves the resource files to the top-level directory of the application."
So not sure if you are using an ant build script or whatever to build your ANE, but as long as you place these json files into the folder with your library when you build the ANE, these will end up getting copied to the top-level directory of the application when an application is built using this ANE.
This is exactly how I include an iOS .bundle of resources along with a .a in an ANE and it works fine. Nice clean packaging when distributing the ANE too.

Hi all, i would like to ask it there anyone know how to compress two or more .jar file into one new .jar file?
because i'm currently need to engage with one big project which have to add 34 .jar file into JCreator, so that the relevant classes can be found when compile the code.
another question is, what is the maximum archive can be add into JCreator? is it limited or unlimited?
So, any idea from you all?

You should probably ask the authors of JCreator about the limitations of it.
The classloader can't read jars from jars and I would advice against extracting all jars and jar all classes into one big fat jar.

I am facing this peculiar problem. I am creating a jar file programmatically using java.util.jar api. The jar file is created but Jboss AS is unable to deploy this jar file. I have also tested that my created jar file contains the same files. When I create a jar file from the command using jar -cvf command, Jboss is able to deploy. I have gone through your code and the problem is that when you create jar it takes a complete path address (which is called using getAbsolutePath ) (when you extract you see the path; C:\..\...\..\ )
You need to truncate this complete path and take only the path address where your files are stored and the problem must be solved.

It sounds as if you downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro. If you did, uninstall it. Then repair Adobe Reader.
The free Acrobat account has no connection to any of this.

Thanks for your quick response. The original movies were taken on a Canon ES970 (1990's). I don't know the resolution but things were not as high tech back then.,.. I used a Roxio software to convert them on my MacBook Air. I didn't realize that I could use Adobe Premiere Elements to do that or I would have. However my old camera did not have a cable to attach it to a computer and the Roxio software came with it.
I then saved the recordings on an external hard drive. I did not make movies from them using iMovie or edit them in any way. They are simply .MOV files and they can be played on my Mac. Upon realizing how much memory it takes to work on videos, I decided it might be easier to burn DVD's on my husband's new Dell desktop that came with Windows 8. I downloaded Quicktime as suggested and still the movies can't be added to Premiere.

We relied upon the "days available for download" to get people to take
action more quickly. The "virus scanning" progress bar was simply another
way of knowing this activity was actually taking place - unless this is
written somewhere in the Adobe Send User Guide.....wherever that is.

I need to some native libraries to run my app. I want to put this .so files into a jar file.
With a shellscript i can set the java classpath, but i need to have only the jar file. If anybody know what do i do to java search the files into a directory specified by me (a directory compressed into the jar file) please help me!

You create a jar file containing JUST the native resources (i.e. the .so file).
You add a <nativelib > element to the JWS file wrapped in a "<resource os="linux" arch="x86">" tag (I think, not done in some time, check the links above).
