How to influence the text display of key figures in the interarctive DP

Hello all,
Does anyone know if there is a possibility (BADI, etc.) to change the text display of key figures (not characteristics!) in a planning book/data view?
I know that you can define a free text in the data view but still, this is only one fixed text and it cannot be changed.
Reason for the request: We would like to use the same key figure (and hence, indicate 2 different texts) for two different purposes (in different selections) without having to create a new data view.
Kind regards,
Klemens

if you dont want a new data view and might even go to the extent of creating a user exit for this ... here is an idea
- just create auxillary KF ( or use spare Temp KF depending on what you want to do with the data in the view) for each of these KF with the text
lets say you have KF1 and KF2 - create KF1A and KF2A
Make sure KF1A = KF1 and KF2a = KF2
Now depending on user you can display KF 1 and KF2 or KF1a and KF2a depending on the user by using macros USER() and ROW_VISIBLE(0)

  • How to create a new Characteristic and  Key figure ?

    Hi !
I am newly trying to learn APO DP and Could anyone please explain how to create a new Characteristic and Key figure in Demand Planning Administrator workbench[ RSA1] with steps?

    Hi,
Instead of RSA1, use RSD1 to create Characteristics & Key figure.
    1. Go to transaction, select radio button for respective info object i mean Char ot key fig.
    2. Enter name of the same & click on create transaction.
    3. Suppose it will ask for APO or BW then select APO for key fig. so some new functionality come in to key fig. like key fig. fixing etc.
    4. always copy new key fig. or characteristics from standard.
    5. after creation activate the key figure.
Hope this steps will help you to create Char. & key fig.

  • Display Text as a Key Figure

    Hi peeps,
I would like to display a text half way along my bex report
i.e. would like to display 4 chars ,then 5 kfs then some text and then some more kfs.
i am currently doing this using a Formula Variable to Replace a KF value with a char, and this works to an extent.
The char value is diplayed, but the formula variable only allows me to set the output to Number so if the char contains anything other than a number it fails to display. It also contains the number formating in bex.
    any ideas.
    e.g.
if a char contains week no, 200450, when using a formula var to display this as a KF, I get 200,450 formatting in Bex.
If the char contains 10/20/30 I get a display error in bex as it will not alow the '/' to be displayed
    any ideas.

You could create your query as a tabular query. To do this just click on the 'Tabular Display' Button (left beside the technical Name button. There you can arrange the columns as you like and you are not restricted to characteristics/key figures order.

  • Planning Workflow (9.3.1): how to influence the view of an enduser?

    Hi all,
In Planning (9.3.1) Workflow the administrator and planner views are quite different. Where the administrator sees a nice top-down approach when opening Workflow (in other words: an administrator can navigate from generation 0 down into the entity dimension) a planner always sees the level 0 members. All of them… which is not very handy.
How can we influence the way a planner (=account with role “planner”) sees his part of the Workflow? Now, if a planner has to see multiple departments, he can see 100s of cost centers in Planning, while just viewing and influencing the highest level depending on a person’s actual security (for instance a department as a whole) would be enough already.
There must be some place where this can be influenced within Planning, but we can’t find it in the documentation or in the standard interfaces of the Planning administration site.
    Thanks in advance!
    Gr.

    Hi,
some FM elements always need special treatment. This is true for graphics (objects), cross links and tables especially.
The EDD can do lots of things, but is also limited in doing others.
There are also different ways to reach a goal, depending on your preferences.
Some things have to be done in the template, some things need to be done in the EDD, others need to be done in the RWR.
It always depends on what you have as given input, how good your skills at certain things are, how consistent your input is or how the general workflow is laid out.
The best way to learn structured FM is to take a look on existing EDDs, DTDs, RWR and templates.
Check out how other people solved those problems. See if the same way works for you.
In your special case, my solution was the quick and dirty one. But there could have been another solution.
You could have wrapped your reference within a font formatting tag (such as <b> or <i> in DITA/HTML) and add the font properties there.
But introducing a font tag usually has influence on your XML input/output.
This means you would need to either get this information already within the XMl source, add it with XSLT on import (remove on export), redefine your structure or use FM scripting.
As you see, there are many ways leading to the desired output - it just depends on your special case, what is best for you.

  • How to influence the substitution workitem list in the inbox?

    Hi gang,
Do you have an idea if there is a simple way to filter the work item list offered for an agent in his inbox? BADI preferably, 'nice' modification (enhancement spot?) in the worst case.
I got a requirement, that for some work items the substitution should be disabled (not some tasks but some work items!!!).
The whole scenario: SRM PO approval workflow. There are two different approval step types (lets name them preliminary and real). Approval task is the same (SRM standard). Approvers maintain the active substitution for the preliminary approval steps. However; this must not influence the real approval that cannot be delegated.

    This would be to easy
Imagine the agent A has 5 orders to approve as a preliminary and another 10 to approve as a real. He maintains an agent B as his active substitute. Than the agent B should see... only 5 work items of agent A.

  • Text elements and key figures with multiple restrictions

    Hi,
I'd like to display text elements in my query according to the restricted key figures in it. There is a restricted key figure used multiple times with different base of restriction. (For exmple Sales in the past week and yesterday.)
KF restricted by <i>actual calendar week</i>,  and
KF restricted by <i>actual calendar day</i>
When displaying text elements, only calendar week appears, however, if KF restricted by calendar week is removed from the query, calendar day is being displayed. (I suppose that both time characteristics are taken as filter values.)
Is that possible to display both filter values at once? Or at least calendar day meanwhile still having the week-based restriction in the query?
    Thanx in advance,
    Gabor

One option would be to not use the *MVAL keyword and load the amount and quantity in separate Data Manager package imports wherby you can easily assign the NA to the appropriate dimension.  When you import amount -- assign NA to P_UNIT and when you import quantity -- assign NA to P_CURRENCY.
However I suppose you would prefer to have one import process. Unfortunately I think you will have to find an ABAP custom solution by calling the END_Routine BADI from the transformation file to deal with the currency and unit dimensions.

  • How to show filter values of restricted key figures in BEx Analyzer?

    Hi,
    I have following report.
                         Quantity USA        Quantity China

Quantity USA is a restricted key figure using key figure 'quantity' and a restriction on characteristic 'country' = USA
Quantity China is a restricted key figure using key figure 'quantity' and a restriction on characteristic 'country' = China
I notice that when I put only one of these resticted key figures into the query, there is a line in the filter area of the report in the BEx Analyzer that shows the characteristic 'country' and the value on which it's restricted in the restricted key figures.
    E.g.:
    Country          USA
                         Quantity USA
    Product           100
If I put both restricted key figures in the query, this line is not shown.

  • Regarding  currency translation for Display attribute(key figure)

    Hi Gurus,
How can i do currency conversion for  MATERIAL COST(key figure) ,which is  Display Attribute  of MATERIAL...
    thanks advancely.......
    CHANDRA

    Hi,
You can create the currency conversion type in the T code RSCURR.
    Here are the steps...
    1.     Transaction for creating currency translation type is RSCURR
    2.     Choose the Exchange rate, Source currency, Target Currency and the Time reference in the respective tabs.
    3.     In the query definition choose the Currency Conversion Key in the properties of the Key-figure.

  • Displaying Restricted Key Figure Based on Fiscal Year

I'll try and explain my problem.
We have created a query using the CCA cube. We created 3 restricted key figures each with a different budget plan version. They are called 'AB' ,'PB' and 'RB'. When the user runs the query it will show planned values out for 5 years. So for example right now we are in Fiscal year 2006.
The problem is that 'AB' is only valid for year 2006, 'RB' may only me valid for 2007 and 'RB' may only be valid for 2008 - 2010. They use a different plan version for different years, If I place all three columns on the report I get zeros when the plans are not valid. Here is what I would like: When the fiscal year changes somehow select the correct restricted key figure to show and also adjust the text to reflect the fiscal year.
Its like my variables are dependent on the fiscal year displayed.
    Any help would be great.
    Rick

    Hi Richard,
Have you tried out the Suppressing Zeros options in query properties...if the whole column is blank for a particular year, you should be able to suppress it. Click here for more info:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1e/99ea3bd7896f58e10000000a11402f/content.htm
You can use text variables in the RKF description to reflect the year for which the data is being displayed.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to add sales margin umsmao as key figure in xxl_data structure in mcge?

    Hi,
While downloading list in mcge to xxl, I am not able to download sales margin UMSMAO.
It's saying "Selected key figure UMSMAO not contained in XXL
    output structure".
    How do I do this?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Joseph;
Yes, you can add a KF as one attribute of master data.
The other solution that I see is you create a DSO as a target of 2LIS_03_BF and then a transformation with company code. Direct link between DS and IO is not advise because one is delta and the other is full (you could have some problems).
But if it's my choice... enhance the 0COMP_CODE_ATTR.
