How to link the variable entry with the planning function execution

Hi All,
I am new to IP , we have a requirement where the user enters the value 2008 for a variable year. Then we are supposed to copy the same combinations for the next four years against which the user will be able to input the key figure values. But i have only 2008 data in the cube, so i need to generate new records for the same characteristic combinations as present for 2008 for the next four years. I am planning to use a copy function for this but how can i trigger this planning function once the user enters the value for the year variable. I want the planning function to get executed once the user clicks OK after the variable entry. Request your valuable inputs on the same.

Hi Tilak,
for this u have an option of executing the planning sequence when the web template loads ie. after the variable screen.
open the WAD.
go to the properties of Web Template web item. Under the section standard action of the webtemplate, we have a n option to include planning functions under action before rendering.
If u include your planning sequence in this this will get executed every time the layout loads.
guess this is usefull to u.

Hmm, that would be a new one on me, but I see new things all the time and try to always keep an open mind.
Okay, so one way past this might be to do the following.
Create a snippet. Copy the content of the desired page and paste into the snippet.
Create 30 different versions of the same topic by simply placing the Snippet into each topic. Then insert the different topics into the TOC.
You should still be able to modify the content of the topic in the single place (the snippet) and by having discrete points from the TOC, there should be no issue and synchronization should work beautifully.

How to set file to open with the latest entry?

My "sent" file always opened at the latest entry showing the last email I'd sent but, for some unknown reason, it now loads at the top of the file showing the earliest entry. How do I get it to go back to showing the latest entries, the bottom of the file, rather than the top of the file?

Click on the header labeled DATE to sort on that column. Click the same header a second time to reverse the sort.

You had asked To which filed we have to give and what condition Right?
For which field you want to validate Enter the validation that Filed and The conditions are according to the your requirement.
For Example.
In a Input if you Enter any input which Ends with 5 then it should show some Error message
then you have to Use "Ends with" Option as Condition and "5" as value , Message " Ends with 5"
If you Upgrade to EHP1 then you can get the Hard validation option which will stop the Execution Flow if the validation validation fails

Changing the heading in the variable entry screen

I have the varible entry in my web template where in the user enter the starting year and ending year .The heading of the Variable entry screen is defaulty Variable entry I wanto change the heading from Variable entry to Years
In 3.5 WAD what ever description is assigned to the webtemplate appears as the heading for variable entry scree but this is not happening in 7.0

Hi Satyajit,
Since the variable entry screen orignates from the BI system in conjunction with a web template it cannot be invoked separately. Do you plan to run the web application within a Web Dynpro application (i.e. an iFrame)? One option would be to use the BI Java SDK to populate the values in a user selection screen and then use the user's selection to execute a query or MDX statement. Of course you Web Dynpro app is responsible for rendering the result set.

When I am trying to create a new variable for a infoobject. It is giving me a warning that Change the tecnical name 'New Variable.....' Before save
This is not allowing me to create any new variable.
In the system I find out one variable is there with the name 'New Variable.....'
And It is being used some where. When I am trying to delete this variable it is giving me a msg that it is being used in ZSCEMESTS.
But I am not able to find out where this ZSCEMESTS is exists.
Is there any TCODE for find out this object.
I want to delete this New Varable..... So can any body pls provide me the solution?

Variable is available global level, so you can view this variable on the same object right click restrict --- variable --- select --- delete.
If it though it is already used in another query then use where used list then go to respective query and delete the same.

Are you not storing the project number in the staging table designed for storing the task data? You can use create_project API to create the project and tasks at the same time with one single call. You may want to try that option

How do I remove unwanted entries in the Profile Manager window?

Can anyone please explain how do you remove irrelevant entries in the Profile Manager dialog? Since I have both 4.0 and 3.6 installed,each with two profiles,I use to launch secondary profiles with the Profile Manager via a command line instead of a specific shortcut,and the dialog window always shows all four options,regardless of what path I enter : is it possible to clean up the dialog window,so that only the 4.0 profiles are displayed when entering the path to 4.0 profiles,and so on for 3.6,without actually risking to delete any profiles? BTW,4.0 profile folders are stored in a different directory than 3.6,and the 3.6 profiles were accessed with the Profile Manager window (no shortcuts to specific profiles at the time) before installing 4.0

The Profile Manager is for all versions of Firefox you have installed - every Profile that is listed in the '''profiles.ini''' file will appear there. The location of the Profile folders has no effect on what the Profile Manager dialog window shows. There is no way to set it up relative to one program installation.
Best thing to do is to have separate desktop shortcuts for each Profile / Firefox-version you want to use.

What you say about Send Later timestamp is correct.
When you click Send or Send Later a time is set regardless of when you actually sent the Send Later email.

How do I allow network volumes with the latest iMovie 10.0? The old "defaults write -app iMovie allowNV -bool true" doesn't work anymore.

So, apparently, while iMovie is open, I have to EJECT the Net Drive. When I remount it, iMovie immediately picks it up.
That said... the update leaves much to be desired. Many of the Projects have unlinked video (even though the same update using a Firewire HD shows the video linked).

Create IT2013 entry with the decoupled infotype framework

Hello,
I tried to create an IT2013 (Quota corrections) entry with the new decoupled infotype framework but I didn't success.
I first tried by using if_hrpa_masterdata_bl->get_infty_container to get a container (and then change it and save it) but I get an error because the time constraint for IT2013 is set to 'Z' and the framework don't handle it.
So I guess this is because if_hrpa_masterdata_bl and other related classes/interface can only be used for PA and not for Time.
Therefore I tried to find Time infotypes dedicated classes and I found some.
The most interessant one is CL_PT_BLP_IT2013. It looked perfect, with everything I needed, but it doesn't work: when CL_PT_BLP_IT2013->IF_HRPT_BLP_INFOTYPE~GET_INFTY_CONTAINER is called, it tries to create an instance of CL_HRPT_INFTY_TIME_CONTAINER but raises an exception. Not surprising because the only non-commented line its constructor executes is:
METHOD constructor.
RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE cx_hrpa_violated_assertion.
* if_hrpa_infty_container~a_tclas = 'A'.
* if_hrpa_infty_container~a_pskey = pskey.
* if_hrpa_infty_container~a_infotype_logic = infotype_logic.
ENDMETHOD.
Moreover, the description of the class CL_HRPT_INFTY_TIME_CONTAINER is: "DO NOT USE! HR: Time Data Container", so it's not suprising at all it doesn't work.
I found some other Time infotypes related classes like CL_PT_BLP_INFOTYPE or CL_PT_TD_INFOTYPE but I couldn't figure out how to create a new IT2013 entry with those ones.
At the end of the day, I couldn't find any way to create a new IT2013 entry using the decoupled infotype framework.
Can someone please help?

Hi,
The time infotypes 2XXX are not yet decoupled as per the standard infotype framework. Hence there are no decoupled classes delivered in standard.
