How to modify "From" header when certain condition met on "Return-Path" header

We are activating TLS enforcement (STARTTLS) between our customer domain (@tls.customer.com) and their business partner (@tls.partner.com) on internet MTA (Cisco ESA C370 running AsyncOS 8.0.1-023)
Customer is managing their internal mail infrastructure and have user mail domains based on country. So for example user X in Switzerland will have sender address: [email protected]
My understanding is that their are using IQ Suite software to re-write sender address into [email protected] to be able to enforce TLS based on this domain.
So far so good until the business partner at receiving end mentioned that they receive reply-to: [email protected] but from: [email protected]
And this will interfere with the policy at their end that require both sender header fields to be the same.
My customer mentioned that they have modified both "From" and "Sender" fields using IQ Suite but somehow on our IronPort we are seeing both appears on "From":
From: <[email protected]>, <[email protected]>
And on message tracking I can see DKIM matching on [email protected] rather than on [email protected]
Message 218480027 (51299 bytes) from [email protected] ready.
10 Feb 2015 09:13:27 (GMT +01:00)     Message 218480027 matched per-recipient policy DEFAULT for outbound mail policies.
10 Feb 2015 09:13:27 (GMT +01:00)     Message 218480027 is not signed. No domain key profile matches [email protected]
10 Feb 2015 09:13:27 (GMT +01:00)     Message 218480027 successfully signed. DKIM ch.customer.com-DKIM matched ch.customer.com.
10 Feb 2015 09:13:27 (GMT +01:00)     Message 218480027 queued for delivery.
So I suspect that customer internal mail still has [email protected] on "From" header and [email protected] on "Return-path" header.
The question is how can I modify "From" header to match that on "Return-path" before sending it to partner.
Appreciate the feeback.

From my tests and knowledge.
We cannot manipulate the From: header to use the variable of the return-path/envelope sender.
However if you know specifically what to re-write then we can specially re-write the From: header to a specific address.
This is done as;
Content filter or message filter condition set
Action would be:
insert-header("From", "[email protected]")
This is all i can think of for this type of request

  • How to test VOFM routine for output cntrol-issue o/p when certain conds met

    Hai,
I have created a vofm routine 903 for  the output type 'ZSH1'.This is for sales order output.
The 903 routine changes the sy-subrc value to non zero if certain conditions met.
My doubt is how to test this vofm routine? where can we check the status of the output processed?
This output is to trigger a smartform.
In my case the output smart form got displayed when I click on print preview even if the condtions met (or) dont met.
Is this the correct way of testing?
    Regards,
    Bhaskar

    Hai All,
    Thanks for your replies.
    here my question is,
how to test the VOFM (not manual )& where we can check the status of output issued or not issued?
    see the step 1.
Step1: goto->va02->from the menu select 'issue output'->select the codition type in the displayed popup->click OK.
after this where can I check the status of the output issued?
or is the way I described in Step 1 is correct or not ?
    other way Step 2:
    goto VA02->enter order number->goto overview page->from Extras->output->header->edit
in this page maintain the output type & click Save.
after Save , is this the time to check whether the output issued or not? if yes where to check the status?
or again is this the right way to test the VOFM.

  • How to Modify the Header/Footer that's created when printing to PDF?

    Hi all,
How do I modify the header/footer that is added when I use the Adobe PDF printer in another application, like MS Word? Currently it adds the entire path of the file as the header, which is really annoying.
I'm not talking about the Header/Footer command in Acrobat's "Document" menu. In fact, that command doesn't even recognise the header that's generated by the Adobe PDF printer.
I'm using Acrobat Pro 8.1.3, btw.
    Thanks :)

Generally you should set the whole look of the page in your application and then print to the Adobe PDF printer as you have been doing. If you are using a browser, there are header and footer commands for the printer that are typically set by the browser - those can be modified there. The PDF should look just like the preview in the application, that is the point of a PDF.

  • How to view "From" header field in OUTgoing messages in Mail? Frustrating.

In Mail v.4.3 (in OSX 10.6.4), I need to view the "From" field in my outgoing messages as I am composing them. However, there seems to be no setting in Mail which allow this.
I find this very frustrating because in Eudora (which I used to use), the "From" field in outgoing messages is visible by default. But in Mail, not only is it not visible by default, there seems to be no way to make it visible.
In the "Customize..." button to the left of the Subject field in outgoing messages, one has the option to add as default outgoing message fields "cc," "bcc," "Reply-To," and "Subject," but none of those are what I want. It allows one to also view the address of the mail server, but that also is not what I'm looking for. What I want is to see my outgoing +email address+. And nowhere is there an option in the Preferences to turn this on. (At least as far as I could tell.)
In fact, the only way to see the identity in the outgoing "From" field is to go to Preferences, then click on Accounts, and look there; or send oneself a test email. Both of which are a hassle and should be unnecessary.
In case you're curious as to why I want to see my outgoing "From" header field:
I have several different "personas" online, each of which uses a different email address: My work address (with a work-related domain); my family/personal address (with a different email address than my work address); an online avatar I use in various gaming sites (also with its own address, since I don't want to use my personal name/address in the gaming community); and so on. However, I have all incoming emails to all accounts auto-forwarded to the same central email account. Most of the time I'm just replying to business emails, so my outgoing "Full Name" and "Email Address" (in Preferences>Accounts) are generally set to my business name and address; but on occasion when I want to reply to a non-business email and not have the recipient see my business email address, I go in to Preferences>Accounts and change "Full Name" and "Email Address" (i.e. what is displayed to the user) to something different. And when I'm done with that, I change it back to my business address.
However, sometimes I forget if I've changed it back or not, or forget what I've changed it to. In Eudora, All one needed to one was create a new outgoing email and it would display the "From" field so I could instantly see my outgoing identity. But in Mail, there is no "From" field in outgoing emails, so I'm constantly nervous and wondering which outgoing identity I may have changed to and accidentally forgotten to change back from.
(Yes, yes, I know that if a recipient wanted to be snoopy, they could look at the "full headers" of any incoming email and see the name of my email server, which may different from my displayed email address; but we're not talking about spy-stuff here, I'm just trying to not confuse people and keep business separate from personal.)
So: is there any way for me to see the outgoing "From" field in the emails I send? Or am I condemned to constantly (and mostly unnecessarily) checking "Preferences>Accounts" to see what I have enetered there?

    Thanks for replying.
What is the "compose window" to which you are both referring? I could find no reference to such a thing in the Mail menus or Help.
Do you mean the "Composing" pane in the Preferences? I don't see what either one of you is referring to there, but I did notice there something that could function as an awkward workaround: If I click on the "Automatically CC myself" box in Preferences>Composing, then when I start a new email, my email address is displayed in the "CC" field -- and luckily, Mail allows me to then delete my email address out of the CC field, so I don't have to spam myself with duplicate copies of all my emails. This way, I can at least briefly see what email address I'm using, before I delete it from the CC field. Pretty awkward and unnecessarily laborious, however -- still not a perfect solution.
Or, by "composing window," are you referring to an outgoing email? As I said in my original comment, I do see what Ernie called "a small box with lines and an arrow at the bottom left of the header box." This is what I had to say about it:
+"In the "Customize..." button to the left of the Subject field in outgoing messages, one has the option to add as default outgoing message fields "cc," "bcc," "Reply-To," and "Subject," but none of those are what I want. It allows one to also view the address of the mail server, but that also is not what I'm looking for. What I want is to see my outgoing email address. And nowhere is there an option in the Preferences to turn this on. (At least as far as I could tell.)"+
In other words, when Ernie says, "click the box beside From," I can't do that -- because there is no such option. That's the whole problem in the first place. If there was a "From" field beside which I could click a box to make it appear, I would have done so! But there is no "From" field in the "Customize" section of the "small box with lines and an arrow at the bottom left of the header box."
I find it completely mystifying that both of you seem to be able to see a "From" field available to be added to the header of outgoing emails, yet no such option is available to me in Mail. What possibly could be causing this? 10.6.4 is freshly installed on my machine, and Mail seems brand new and uncorrupted. And I'm using Mail 4.3, the latest version.
Are you saying that everyone else can see an option to have a "From" field in their outgoing messages, but I uniquely don't? Very very very strange.

  • Action 'is not valid' used in Business rule, but when rule condition met variable set to "unassigned"

I have used "is not valid" in the action and set the action as " Manager is not valid" . But when the condition is met, the Manager field is assigned with "unassigned" value. I do not have other rules, which use default to "unassigned".
Still for the records satisfying the condition, i see that the value of Manager column for those records is becoming "unassigned".
I do not want the manager value to be reset to unassigned. I just want the validation failure to be reported over mail.

Swap, is this still an issue?

  • How to automatically reply to requestor when certain condition is met on a form

Just got SP 2013 and was hoping I could automate something. We have a form that a requestor fills out. At some point, that form will be marked "Received" or "Complete". I was hoping whenever those changed (went from nothing to received......nothing
to complete.....received to complete.....complete to received) that the requestor would automatically notified of the change via e-mail.
Such as...I mark is as complete. SP send the requestor an email saying "Your request has been completed" with a link to the original form.
Is there a way to make this happen or will I need additional components to make this happen? Im looking into downloading SP Designer, but since its for work, not sure if that will be well-received or not.
    Thanks

You can create a custom workflow based out of SPD and fire the workflow when the form is marked as Received and Complete.
    it would require
    just two steps -
    1. If Condition
    2. send an email action in SPD

  • Disable modify for documents under certain conditions

    Hello gurus,
I'm working on an SRM 7 system, extended classic scenario. My task is to disable the EDIT button to prevent unauthorized users to modify a PO or contract.
An user is defined 'unauthorized' if it doesn't belong to the same block of the doc's creator in org. structure; the logic is quite clear and it shouldn't be a problem coding it in the CHECK badi. Also I could use the same logic to disable the EDIT button for the document.
There's just a doubt for the task, I hope you can provide me info or suggestions: how to provide an error message explaining the user WHY the EDIT button is disabled?
When a user searches for a document and simply click over it, the document is loaded and shown to the user. In this sequence, CHECK badi isn't triggered yet. For what I'm going to code, the EDIT button will be then disabled but the user will have no messages explaining WHY the button is disabled.
    So I'd kindly ask you:
how can I raise an error message when the document is simply loaded? CHECK badi, as described above, seems not to be a correct solution because it is not triggered in the loading phase ( the user should then press a CHECK button to retrieve the error message). Is there a specific BADI in which I can raise a message when the document is loaded? Please note that for my check I need to retrieve the document's data.
Thanks in advance for your help
    Matteo

Solved. I checked for the condition in WDDOINIT (or WDDOMODIFYVIEW when FIRST_TIME = 'X') and raised there a persistent message for the specific case described in the post... It works.. with a single exception. I'm going to start a new thread since the argument seems quite different.

  • How to modify existing keywords when site is not in Bookmarks bar?

I have set up many keyword shortcuts for websites I use frequently. Now, how do i modify those keywords or URLs when the site is not in the Bookmarks list? Is there a master file Firefox accesses for these which can be user-edited? Or some other way to get at them?

Not sure if this is the same in MacOSX, but this is how it is done in Windows and Linux versions of Firefox. <br />
    Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks <br />
Highlight the bookmark in the right-pane and then hit the '''More''' button at the bottom to see the Keyword and Description fields for that bookmark.

  • How to work with loops if certain condition to be fulfill.

    Hi,
    I have following conditions.
    itab1
    seq  plant storage loc  material
    01    p1      s1                m1
    02    p2      s2                 m1

    m1              p1       s1                00000000          0 or q1          mr1
    m1              p1       s1                20140102           0 or q1         mr1

    m1              p1       s3                20140102          0 or q1           mr2
now I have to pick the qty from itab 2 as follow.
I need to see first seq (01) in itab1 first and for that I have to pick the desired qty (suppose 6). first with the storage loc s1.
it should search in itab2 for s1 with date 000000.this belongs to mrp area mr1.if it finds the sufficient qty then process the remaing logic otherwise
it should search with other storage loc s2 in same mrp area MR1 where date is 000000.if not then go with s3 but as s3 has diff mrp area.so now it should come back and search with s1 where date is not 0000000. then with s2 with same condition.after that it should go with other mrp area.
I am trying but not able to achieve it completely. please help me to code this.

  • How to specify "From" address when sending Outbound e-mail from Siebel

Hi, when sending an e-mail to Outlook exchange server among all there are 2 fields: Sender and From, where Sender is an address of the profile from which e-mail will be sent and "From" address is the one that will be displayed to the receipient ("From" is not related to any profile and any e-mail address could be specified there).
My question is how can we specify this "From" address in Siebel while using standard e-mail functionality (Communications Outbound Manager sends data based on created activity record). Client wants to specify any e-mail address regardless ofcommunication profile used (which is only one).

  • How to break a loop when if condition is not satisfied

    Hi,
I need some help on the following code. I know how to use CONTINUE or EXIT in loop but the problem is inside the loop i am using subroutine in which i am using if conditions. if one of those if conditions are not satified then it has to come out of the subroutine without executing remaing statements.
    sample code is as follows:
    loop at itab into wa_tab.
perform check. using wa_tab changing it_tab.
    endloop.
form check using ix_tab type itab
    .                changing ir_tab type it_tab.
    if x is not INITIAL.
    else.
    "COME OUT OF THE ROUTINE"
    endif.
    if y is not INITIAL.
    else.
    "COME OUT OF THE ROUTINE"
    endif.
in the above code if x is empty i have to come out of the subroutine without executing next if condition.

    Hi,
    loop at itab into wa_tab.
perform check. using wa_tab changing it_tab.
    endloop.
form check using ix_tab type itab

    if x is not INITIAL.
else if y is not INITIAL.
    else.
    "COME OUT OF THE ROUTINE"

  • K7N2G-ILSR: How to boot from SATA when a raid card is installed

    The situation:
    1. I have a separate raid controller (Silicon chip) with 2 drives on raid 0.
    2. I have another drive (my boot drive) that I want to place on the onboard Promise SATA raid controller.
    The problem:
The bios doesn't include an option to specifically boot from SATA, only SCSI. So when I place my boot drive to the onboard Promise SATA raid controller, the system won't boot because it's looking for system files on the raid 0 drive.
Is there a workaround for this?

Well, all my drives are IDE. I did try the SATA RAID using lumberjacker's bios but it isn't stable.
Aside from 3 IDE drives, I also have 2 atapi drives (cdr-w, dvd).
    Here's my current setup:
ide 0 - boot drive (master), DVD (slave)
    ide 1 - cdr-w (master)
onboard ide (sata controller) - (vacant)
    SATA 1 - (vacant)
    SATA 2 - (vacant)
promise raid card (2 ide ports)- 2 hard drives on raid 0 (both as master)
What I really want to do is place my boot drive on the SATA port (using a pata to sata converter), or on the onboard promise parallel port. So that it can have it's own port.

  • How to restore from iCloud when user can't remember ID or password?

A family member had to replace a dead iPhone, has a nice new iPhone, and needs to restore her stored info from the iCloud to her new phone. The problem is she does not remember either her user ID or her password, to restore her data. She does not have an iTunes account, she uses mine.
Is it possible my ID & password are used on this iCloud account? I know we have separate storage spaces, but I haven't figured out how to get into iCloud to check on what is there.

You can restore iCloud data if you don't know the ID and password for the account it is stored in.  If you think she may have used yours, go to icloud.com from your computer, sign in with your ID and password and see if it's her data in the account.
She can also try to find her ID as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625.  Then she can reset the password as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.

  • How to blink an indicator under certain conditions

    Hello all,
My code right now checks our flow controller setpoints, subtracts the readback value, and takes the absolute value. If the value is greater than 30% off, then the indicator blinks.  The problem I have is that during testing, sometimes the flow controller is not fully to setpoint and it'll blink quick before getting there.  Makes the screen look like christmas.  I really want it to blink if it detects that the flow controller is not working over a longer period of time.  This might be because the tank is empty or the flow controller is unplugged, etc.  I want to ignore small deviations from the setpoint.

  • How to restart from disk when Diskwarrior 4.2 wont quit and the option

I routinely defragmented my Mac Pro after setting the startup disk to Diskwarrior, now it won't quit and keeps rebooting. I cannot fint the eject hole on the disk platter so am stuck with it in mys machine. Have tried rebooting using Pram reset, option, shiftand the eject keys.
Are there any other keys that cancel the startup disk options and reset back to my boot disk?

I routinely defragmented my Mac Pro after setting the startup disk to Diskwarrior...
Disk Warrior doesn't defragment drives. Please don't waste any more time on this pointless action, which will either have no effect at all (apart from hours of lost productivity) or will cause problems like the one you have now.
Restart and hold down the mouse or trackpad button until the disc ejects. You might need to use a wired mouse to do this. If it doesn't work, the disc is physically stuck in the drive.
