  • How to post the question in asktom

    Hi,
Could you please some give isteps to posting questions for ask.tom .I tried in his site ,but i didn't find the post thread/question kind of options.

And besides waiting in vain for days, staring at the "Sorry I have a large backlog right now, please ask a question later"-message and getting more and more depressed (just kidding ;) ), you could always ask your question here on this forum.
    If you do that:
Provide details about DB-version, make a small but representative example, use the tags.
(that way you have practised on how to ask questions to Tom when you get your chance ;))
And usually by doing some searches on here and AskTom there's great chance you'll find your answer(s) without having to ask anyone.

  • How to post a question in the Exchange Online forum?

I was in the Exchange Online forum. I click Ask a question, and I am redirected to
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/newthread?category=&forum= which has a list of categories, none of which is Exchange Online forum.  The categories available are:
Academic Initiatives, Archived Forums C-D, Archive Forums I-L, Archived Forums W, Corporate Citizenship, Dynamics, Learning, Machine Translation and Language Tools, Microsoft Genuine Advantage, Microsoft Maren, Microsoft Money, Microsoft Research, etc....,
Streets and Trips, Using Forums, Windows Academic, ..... but none of the familiar topics.
    What has happened?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
This looks to be a branding issue (you're seeing Microsoft branded forums, not TechNet [see the url]). Click the link below for a direct link to the Exchange Online forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/home?forum=onlineservicesexchange&filter=alltypes&sort=lastpostdesc
Clicking the 'Ask a question' button should automatically select that forum now.

  • I finally discovered how 2 post a question!!! : )  MY MUSIC ITS GONE

i know its not n update to itunes, n i do have all the files backed. but i find it idiotic that from time to time when i open my itunes (obviously w/ the external harddrive where the music is connected) my lubrary its completly empty. even my smartlists. at 1st i was like oh ok lets jus put back in there, but know its jus getting on my nerves. whats going on??? pls help me.

chkdsk doesn't do ANYTHING at all? Oh man, that is scary.
At the command line prompt, type help chkdsk first.
This will show if chkdsk is a valid program. You should see this
Checks a disk and displays a status report.
    CHKDSK [volume[[path]filename]]] [/F] [/V] [/R] [/X]  [/C] [/L[:size]]
volume Specifies the drive letter (followed by a colon),
    mount point, or volume name.
filename FAT/FAT32 only: Specifies the files to check for fragmentat
/F Fixes errors on the disk.
/V On FAT/FAT32: Displays the full path and name of every file
    on the disk.
On NTFS: Displays cleanup messages if any.
/R Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information
    (implies /F).
/L:size NTFS only: Changes the log file size to the specified numb
of kilobytes. If size is not specified, displays current
    size.
/X Forces the volume to dismount first if necessary.
All opened handles to the volume would then be invalid
    (implies /F).
/I NTFS only: Performs a less vigorous check of index entries.
/C NTFS only: Skips checking of cycles within the folder
    structure.
The /I or /C switch reduces the amount of time required to run Chkdsk by
skipping certain checks of the volume.

  • How to post question in a discussion category

I need to post a question about my iPod and can't find out how to post the question in the correct category. Am I missing something? I have been all over the site and can't find the link to post my question in the appropriate category. Thanks,

    MB --
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Go to this page below:
    http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=146
Then look at all the categories listed there.
Then click on the category that best meets your needs.
It will direct you to a page that has "Post New Topic" up on the left hand corner
    of the topic list.
    Hope this helps.

  • Posting general questions

As a new user to apple forum discussions I find it a very user unfriendly system. Een finging how to view discussions took me over half an hour, and to post a question even longer! Now I cannot find where I should go to post a general question not related to any of the lists on the forums homepage. Very frustrating! Can anyone advise me how I open an account online since I cannot get the system to accept my details since my country, South Africa is not in the international list. Surely one can use a credit card without having to fill in a physical address!? I wish to get Quicktime Pro and cannot as it is not on the shelves and I can't get past this address problem!
    Thanks,
    Kendrew.

  • Posting a question

I am new to the Discussions forum and want to post a simple question. I would think that posting a question would not require me having to search "how to post a question". It's a bit annoying that it's not obvious. When I click on a category I think there should be a blank space (or something) that says "ask your question here"--like in Yahoo Answers.

    Welcome To  Discussions karibuboo!
If you have a question, or suggestion, about using Discussions, from this page Feedback about Discussions, click on Post New Topic.
If you have a Technical question about Apple Hardware, Programs, Services, Technology, Software, Applications, Products, etc, from this page Discussions - Forum Home, select an appropriate Category from one of the sixteen divisions.
For example, under Mac OS X Related Software, choose the Category Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard.
On the page that opens, select a Forum, such as Installation & Setup, or Using Mac OS X Leopard.
Most Category pages, have numerous Forums within them.
But some may have only one, two, or three.
For example the Safari Category page has four choices listed under Forum / Category, but only two of them, are Forums:
    Safari For Windows
    Safari for Mac Support forum.
And the Apple Remote Desktop Category, has only one Apple Remote Desktop Forum.
On Forum pages, there is an option to Post New Topic.
Click here for all iPod Forums.
Click here for all iTunes Forums.
Click here for all iPhone Forums.
More info here How Is Discussions Content Organized.
It can be confusing, but explore the different areas, and you will acquire a better understanding of the hierarchy.

  • How to post a note

I just joined in. I am learning how to post a question,  as I failed yesterday.

Well, you've succeeded with this one. What is your question?

  • Newbie can't figure out how to post

I have been trying to figure out how to post a question for an hour. THere IS no button to click that says POST MESSAGE when I pull up the IPHOTO topic. Where could it be?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You've posted two questions successfully in this forum, and the forums are formatted exactly the same way throughout the site.
When you say, "pull up the iPhoto topic," do you mean that you have chosen a topic to read to which you would also like to reply?
Can you be a little more specific as to where you are looking for a Post Message button? Is it possible the topic you were looking at is either locked or archived (there would be a note indicating either possibility at the top of the topic's text), in which case there is no Post Reply button available...?
Is it possible that you were looking at the iPhoto Category page (here) which contains a list of forums (though it does resemble a list of topics), rather than a particular iPhoto forum? If yes, then you will have to choose a forum from the list in order to post a message.

  • Why is there no simple 'post a question' tab on th...

Firstly, I had to google how to post a question.....that isn't helpful.
Secondly, i've been unable to connect with anyone today over skype. I've quit and restarted several times and still nothing. Why?
And thirdly, again, why is it sooooo difficult to ask a simple question of you Skype?????

It really does beggar belief .. I am all for progress, and moving forward, but my skype account has taken a downward slope over the years, and there is no simple way of resolving problems outside of their FAQ page, search space ( which is frankly, laughable ) or the community..
I am actually trying to resolve a problem that is restricting me using the account... Derrrr
I have nothing against a community, but if i wanted further social interaction, i'd look at facebook or whatever...
The internet search pages are full of such people as us, making comments and getting no good resolve..
Did they never hear the phrase " the customer comes first "..
Anyway, thank you for your reply.. It is the only reply that i have recieved.. i was hoping tp prompt an administrator to speak up and tell me taht i was just being a silly old fool and here's how to get a problem resolved, but a week or more later, i'm still waiting...
Notamuzed   ( i also had to mis spell my username to get it , they obviously filter out words that they dont want used as usernames, big brother is watching you, yes YOU )
