How to programmatically place the field in the canvas.

Can you please tell, how to programmatically place the field BLOCK1.FIELD1 in the canvas CANVAS1.
At the moment on the field value CANVAS = NULL.
And when opening the form error "FRM-41014 Cannot set attribute of null canvas item..."

Youcannot assign a canvas at runtime. Yu have to specify int at designtime and it cannot be changed at runtime. if you need an item in more than one canvas, use a mirror-item (duplcate the item and set the property Synchronize with)

How can i post the fields in the screen by selecting a record

Hi,
I have a problem in dialog programming.
I need to populate the fields in the screen by selecting a single record.
For example,
    Screen consists of 'CARRID, CONNID,FLDATE... fields.
    By pressing F4 in CARRID field it will display the contents from database table and display the records. If i select the record LH 0400 ... record then automatically the connid field should fill with the contents of the record i.e., 0400 and similarly the remaining fields.
   How can i do this in dialog programming?
   I tried with F4IF_INT_table_.. function module. There is a table parameter DYNmapping. But dont know how to use it? Can any body explain me how to use it?

Thanks for your reply. I solved my problem. It is working with the table parameter 'DYNPFLD_MAPPING' in the function module 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'.
With your logic we can't decide which record is selected. Because there can be multiple records for a single CARRID.
My question is how to post the entire record into the screen fields at a time? It is possible with the parameter I specified inthe above said function module.
With dictionary reference it will fetch the entire entries from the Check table.

How to hide the field from the view in the webdynpro application?

Hi Gurus,
I got a requirement where in which ,default layout has the field name Time.......To......... which is (2 input box ) and one lable assigned to the container.........
Now my requirement is to hide this field from the layout for all cases of leave......(all types of leave)....
I got a few inputs from forum that we can achieve this by implementing the following steps..........
Create In context => Value attribute => Say Visibility
Go to its properties
Select com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Visibility
In View Layout
Select UI Element Set Visible property to this context variable Visibility.
In wdDoModifyView() You can set this property to false
wdContext.currentContextElement().setVisibility(false);
Can you people tell me where to create the value attribute........
In the view context or in the component context...........
and field that am talking about is assign to the container you want me to assign this context variable property to all ......Like to input box ,label and the container..........
Please calrify this ASAP...........

As per your guidelines I have created the value attribute in View context (which has the field..... which needs to be hide)inside the value node say FieldVisibility.......and attribute name OldTimeDuration......and I set this value with uidefeneitions Visibility .......
and I bind this vaule with the field property visible(Time.......To..........)which I need to hide...........
Now in the view implementation tab ..........I have coded in the doinit method(since my requirement to hide the field from the layout in all cases).........
wdContext.currentFieldVisibilityElement().setOldTimeDuration(WDVisibility.NONE);
But if I deploy the application and see still am getting the same field dispalying in the screen.........
I even tried putting this code in wdmodifyview method.........same results........
Kindly tell me how to hide the field permenantly from the screen............(without any conditions.)

How to add a new Field in the Dynamic Selection screen section.

HI,
There is a requirement in which I need to add a field in existing program of dynamic selections.
I need to add a field KNKK-DBRTG (Customer Rating) in dynamic selections screen of some existing report
which has a dynamic selection screen with other fields like customer account, company code etc. Along with this i need to add Customer rating field also in the selection screen.
I have used GET KNKK statement to select this in the Dynamic selection screen. But I need to make it appear
on the screen.
LDB used is the Customer Database.
I have added GET KNKK statement after GET KNA1 statement.
Can any one help me how we can make this rating field appear in the selection screen.
With the GET statement Credit control area Fields can be selected in the selection screen but I have to permanantly add the field in the selection screen.

So you need that this new field have data in old records?
1.- If you are in BI 7.0 and the logic or data for that New field are in the same Dimension, you can use a Remodeling to fill it. I mean if you want if you want to load from a Master Data from other InfoObject in the same Dim.
2.- If condition "1" is not yours.
First add the new field, then create a Backup Cube (both cubes with the new field) and make a full update with all information in the original Cube. The new field willl be empty in both cubes.
Create an UR from BackUp_Cube to Original_Cube with all direct mapping and create a logic in the Start Routine of the UR (modiying the data_package) you can look for the data in the DSO that you often use to load.
To do that both cubes have to be Datasources ( right click on Cube-> aditional function-> and I think is "Extract Datasource")

i have to add the 3   fields which r there in the my source fields to that
of the target fields ( as per the change in the requirement) in the 5th Step
i.e Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules
the Target strucutre & the Source fields( by clicking the button
Source field and selcting the fields from the popup menu) in the mapping and conversion step ,i want to add 3 fields which are availabe in the list of th source list which i want to map to the Target strucutre .
When i tried it is adding in the othe target field
presently i have mapping (5th sept ) as below.

For sales order, use user exit :
MV45AFZZ and FORM userexit_field_modification.
For deliveries, use BADI :
LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC (see with Tcode SE18) and method CHANGE_FIELD_ATTRIBUTES.
Create implementation in ref to this badi with Tcode SE19.

I am using CR 9.0 and C# to create a report. Now I need to place a subreport (a signature box) on the last page of the report and I seem to be having difficulties. I will not know the number of pages until runtime which I seem to be able to get using:
int rptLastPageNum;ReportPageRequestContext req = new ReportPageRequestContext();rptLastPageNum = oReport.FormatEngine.GetLastPageNumber(req);
Now, how do I place a subreport in the lower right corner of page "rptLastPageNum"? Is it possible to do it in the report itself or is there a way to do it in my C# code? One solution would be to put it in the footer of the report but unfortunately that doesn't work for us as there is another subreport to the left that will need to be shown next to our subreport, not above it.Thanks!!

have you tried making a section in your report footer to hold your subreport and then using the section expert to make that supress using something like:{current page number} < {total page number}

How can I format a field in the form creator?

How can I format a field in the form creator? It's putting the same text in all the fields within a table. I want each field within the table to have different text. As soon as you click out of the table, all the text is the same.
I even changed the fields from a text box to a drop-down list so a person can make their selection, which will be a quantity from 0-9. There are two of these such fields. You make your selection in each, click off the table and both fields show whatever I selected in field 1. The original Qty I selected in the bottom field was a 5 but it changed it to whatever is in the top field on it's own. I've added a screen shot.

This behaviors usually happens when you create the fields but a copy paste command from one of the fields. The copy paste command assumes that your intentions is to maintain a copy of the field in two separate locations (e.i, a form field "company name" printed in each and every page of a multi-page form document.
Go to the properties fields of each field and make sure to assign unique form field names.

How to move the fields in the standard webdynpro component.

Hi ,
I am new to webdynpro dynpro.
I have a requirement in which i have to move the standard fields to some other place.
The webdynpro component isn HRRCF_C_PERSONL_DATA_UI.
In this i have to move the fields location and poastal code above the fields country and region which comes in ADDRESS .
First i enhanced the application . then i right clicked the field , but the up menu is disabled since it is a standard one.
kindly give suggestion to move the fields.

You need to delete that UIElement from standard component and create similar new UIElement, Now you can move your UIElement as per your requirement. if you want to come back to original state of your component, delete your enhancement and the deleted UIElement will be back.

In the context tab of the view. Select the attribute for which you want to set the default value.it will show the properties at the bottom. set the Default value property to the value which you want to set as the default value.
